Championship Saturday - Memphis Wrestling recap for September 10, 2022

Mike Anthony shows up to start tonight's show. After making it obvious that he hates Dustin Starr, Mike Anthony demands a refund from Money Mike and Pay Up (Big Jack and Bruce), saying they had a job to do and failed to deliver the results. He calls them out and demands that they pay up. Money Mark and Big Jack show up, and Money Mark tells him that there are no refunds and that if he wants it, he will have to come and get it. Mike Anthony says he does not play with his money, and tells them to pay up or get beat down. Big Jack asks Mike "You done talkin'?", to which Mike replies "Shall we?" This leads to a fight in the ring between them, and security and referees have to quickly break the fight up.

Zay Washington retains the Memphis Wrestling Internet Championship against "Casanova" Colton Cage. During the match, Aaron Roberts shows up and watches from the audience. After the match, Aaron Roberts attacks Zay Washington from behind and powerbombs him in the middle of the ring.

We see some footage from the 901 Day event.

Cassandra Golden beats "Dirty" Diana Taylor and "The Goddess of the Night" Nyxx in a Triple Threat Match to become the Memphis Wrestling Women's Champion after "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock hits Nyxx with the women's title as Diana Taylor has the referee distracted with a Bronco Buster on Cassandra Golden. Nyxx is down for the rest of the match, and Cassandra Golden hits Diana Taylor with the Michinoku Driver to win the title. (When Cassandra Golden is awarded the title, she is handed a championship belt with a new design.)

In footage from earlier today, Shark Boy tells Kid Wrestling that he has a bright future in the business, then hands him the first mask he ever wore in his career. He says that when he is ready to put it on, there will be great things in his career.

Dustin Starr interviews "Remarkable" Ryan Rembrandt at the announce desk. Rembrandt refuses to admit he lost in last week's Fat Boy Challenge, then says he looks into the crowd and notices that there is a loose definition of what "fat" means, then says that if you're not remarkable, you're fat. He then calls out anyone who is fat to get in the ring and do ten push-ups, and maybe then, he might consider them remarkable. Ray Collins shows up and says he can do the ten push-ups. Ray Collins does the ten push-ups, but Rembrandt kicks Collins in the rib eight push-ups in and puts him in a single leg crab. Officials and referees quickly step in.

We hear from The Skimahorns (Brad and Briar Skimahorns). Briar says they cannot make it to Championship Saturday due to a family emergency, as Uncle Mikey is in the hospital with their father. Brad says they will have more information when it is available.

We see footage of Mads Krugger on The Chris Vernon Show.

Backstage, Mackenzie Morgan interviews Austin Lane, who says that he has goosebumps and that the electricity is in the air for Championship Saturday. He wishes everyone good luck as they steal the show and make their moments. He says that his goal is to be wrestling for a championship on the next Championship Saturday, then dares Matt Williams to meet him in the ring, as they have some talking to do.

Mike Anthony guests on commentary for the next match.

Memphis Muscle ("The GunShow" Brett Michaels and "Big Swole" Justin Cole) beat The Posse (Simon and Mr. Chris) to become the Memphis Wrestling Tag Team Champions! During the match, Mr. Chris blocks the Swole Slam and sends Justin Cole into referee David Knight. He then hits Justin Cole in the head with one of the tag team titles, but Justin Cole kicks out. Simon yells at the ref, but Brett Michaels hits Simon with the GunShow Lariat and Justin Cole hits Mr. Chris with the Swole Slam to win the titles.
