Memphis Thing - Memphis Wrestling recap for September 17, 2022

Memphis Muscle ("The Gun Show" Brett Michaels and "Big Swole" Justin Cole) retain the Memphis Wrestling Tag Team Championships against The Hot Shots (Ethan Ross and Brandon Savage). After the commercial break, Justin Cole says it has been a long time coming regarding his tag team championship win, and Brett Michaels tells Mike Anthony that it is far from over between them. Suddenly, Mike Anthony shows up. Mike Anthony says that he is still the champion, then tells Brett that while he is coming for him, Memphis Muscle is safe for now. Regarding his title defense today, Mike Anthony tells Big Jack that he will pay up, then tells Brett Michaels that he will go down.

Bashley Bones beats Jennifer Justice.

Dustin Starr interviews Teddy Long at the announce desk. Dustin Starr addresses The Hollywood Clique to Teddy Long, and Teddy Long says he is here to lay down some law and order, and says that he does not like "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock before bringing out The Hollywood Clique. Teddy Long tells Jimmy Blaylock that his reign of terror is over and tells Diana Taylor that she is not the real champion (despite wearing the original women's title). Teddy Long then addresses Ray Sanders, and after a Bebe's Kids reference, it is announced that there will be a rematch between Van Viciouss and Derrick King, and if Derrick wins, he is no longer part of The Hollywood Clique. Teddy Long also makes Ray Sanders the referee for the match, and if Ray Sanders does not call the match down the middle, he is fired. Blaylock calls Teddy Long "a troublemaker," to which Teddy Long responds that he is a troublemaker and that Blaylock is in trouble, too.

Dustin Starr interviews Martin, who shows up with a floor mat. After the point of a floor mat is explained, Martin says it is also used as a springboard of success, and ever since he has walked through Memphis Wrestling's doors, all of his opponents have gone on to bigger and brighter things. Martin says that nobody will use him like a floor mat anymore and that he will be like a hurricane, and if anyone gets in his way, they will be decimated, starting now.

Martin quickly beats Ray Collins. After the match, Martin proclaims that the fans will not chanting "Whoop that trick!" at him, and that he will be a footstool for no one else, as his time is now.

Mike Anthony retains the Memphis Wrestling Heritage Championship against Big Jack. Before the match begins, Money Mark sets a table up and places it across from the announce desk. Mike Anthony is unfazed upon seeing it on his way to the ring. Near the end of the match, Money Mark picks Mike Anthony up as Big Jack distracts the referee, but Mike Anthony slips out of his grasp and nearly puts Money Mark through the table. After the match, Mike Anthony gets his money back from out of Money Mark's wallet and leaves a $10 bill on Money Mark.
