Memphis Thing - Memphis Wrestling recap for September 24, 2022

Before the match, Memphis Muscle ("The GunShow" Brett Michaels and "Big Swole" Justin Cole) is seen making their way to the WrestleCenter.

"Mr. All Day" Will Allday beats "Casanova" Colton Cage. On the subject of Teddy Long's new talent initiative and the big plans he has for him, Allday says that he wanted to face Colton Cage - whom he gives props to for putting up a fight and for also winning the recent battle royal - so he could earn his spot, then says that this was a #1 contender's match, and that next time he is in Memphis, Mike Anthony had better watch out.

In footage from earlier today, Aaron Roberts is on the phone with someone. He asks the person on the other end when they are coming to Memphis, then pushes the cameraman out of the way.

Backstage, Mackenzie Morgan interviews Austin Lane, who says that he has gotten done talking with Teddy Long and that next week, he will have a match against Matt Williams in a bullrope match. He says there is no more running for Matt and that it is in on.

The L.A. Husters (Notorious Bradley and Ruffshot Lamont) beat Memphis Muscle ("The GunShow" Brett Michaels and "Big Swole" Justin Cole) by count-out after they find out from Dustin Starr that their vehicle is in the middle of the parking lot with all the doors open, as if it were broken into. When Memphis Muscle investigate, Justin Cole is hit in the back with a sledgehammer by Simon. Memphis Muscle ("The GunShow" Brett Michaels and "Big Swole" Justin Cole) retain the Memphis Wrestling Tag Team Championships.

We see some more interview footage from Dyer Country Clash at the Dyer County Fair.

Jason Genesis beats "The True American" Trace Lee Hunt after Goddess trips Trace Lee Hunt off the top rope as Genesis distracts the referee.

We hear from "Big Trouble" Ben Bishop, who thanks the fans for embracing him in the WrestleCenter and announces that he will back soon. He tells the fans to enjoy Memphis Wrestling and to get ready, because here comes trouble.

Teddy Long guests on commentary for the next match.

Derrick King beats Van Viciouss with Ray Sanders as the referee. As per pre-match stipulation, Derrick King is free from The Hollywood Clique. Despite numerous distractions by Van Viciouss, "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock and one of The Hollywood Clique's bodyguards, and despite very briefly hesitating at the end of the three-count, Ray Sanders calls the match down the middle and awards the win to Derrick King. (As per pre-match stipulation, had Ray Sanders not called the match down the middle, he would have been fired from Memphis Wrestling.) After the match, Ray Sanders is twice seen kneeling down in the corner as if to wonder what will happen next.
