Generation NXT - NXT recap for September 27, 2022

Ilja Dragunov heads to the ring to start tonight's show. Dragunov talks about how he conquered an unbeatable machine to become champion and how he walked into the arena and struggled and succeeded like a gladiator, and says that he became "the Tsar" because pain has always been his best friend. He says he has returned to repeat history and destiny to become champion one more time, but instead of Gunther, he is facing Bron Breakker. Suddenly, JD McDonagh shows up. McDonagh says the people do not know Dragunov like he does and calls him "a dirty little rat" who followed him to America. Dragunov mentions beating McDonagh to force him out of NXT UK, but McDonagh says Dragunov's body was so battered and broken he had to relinquish his title.McDonagh says this is his time, not Dragunov, and tells him to stay on the sidelines like he has been doing for the last few months, because if he has to stop him one more time, he will end his career. Bron Breakker appears and welcome Dragunov to America, saying that while he is a warrior, the NXT Championship is not going anywhere. McDonagh suddenly has a great idea: Breakker and Dragunov beating each other up so he can take his shot afterwards. Bron Breakker suddenly tells McDonagh that since he is #1 contender while Dragunov never lost his championship, McDonagh has a "33 1/3 percent chance of winning" and proposes a Triple Threat Match for the NXT Championship at Halloween Havoc.

Backstage, a brawl between Gallus (Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey, Wolfgang) and the team of Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen has to be broken up by security.

Backstage, Mandy Rose says she know Alba Fyre is watching and that Fallon Henley is about to find out what happens to those who mess with her before telling Fyre to put down the baseball bat and take some notes.

We hear from The Schism (Joe Gacy, Jagger Reid, Rip Fowler). Gacy says that The Schism could solve all of Cameron Grimes' problem, but he refused them. Reid says he has been warned, and Gacy and Fowler says their wrath is imminent. Gacy then says that afterwards, Grimes will be alone like he always has.

Mandy Rose beats Fallon Henley. After the match, Mandy Rose says that Alba Fyre is jealous that she unified two titles from two continents while she was throwing another log on a fire. Alba shows up on the video screen and says she does not do visual warnings as she is more of a visual person. She then places the flaming tip of her bat on some ashes, which spell out "#AndNew."

We hear from Apollo Crews, who says that Grayson Waller got a taste of what vengeance is after trying to impair his vision, and that his mere presences blinded him from an opportunity at the North American Championship. He says that while things still have a haze to them, one thing is crystal clear: Grayson Waller had better keep an eye out for him, as he is not done yet.

Backstage, Ilja Dragonuv runs into Xyon Quinn, who tells him that he has hear about him and says he could not hold the weight that comes at being champion, then says that he has never carried the ball because no one would get it back. Dragunov says that he has heard about Quinn, saying he has unlimited potential but is "a mental moron" that nobody would call champion, then proposes that they see who is right before telling Quinn the ball is in his court.

Wes Lee is accompanied by Connor's Cure Thriver Quinn "The King Crusher" Molitor before the next match.

Wes Lee beats Tony D'Angelo by referee stoppage after D'Angelo's left knee hits the mat hard as Wes Lee trips him head-first into the middle turnbuckle.

Carmelo tells him that it is every man for himself around here, to which Oro Mensah simply replies "Looking forward to it."

We see a vignette for Sol Ruca, who debuts next.

We see a day in the life of Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson and Elton Price), where the twosome get up at 10:00 AM, have breakfast in bed, go through their wardrobe, brush their hair, have some tea, train in the gym, have some tea again, then go to bed.

Sol Ruca beats Amari Miller. During the match, it is announced that Ilja Dragunov vs. Xyon Quinn is official for later tonight.

Backstage, Gallus (Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey, Wolfgang) are forced into their dressing room by security after one of the security guards gets headbutted.

Nikkita Lyons beats Kayden Carter.

In footage from earlier today, Andre Chase announces to Chase University that due to their victory against Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams, he has earned a chance to face Von Wagner for a shot at the North American Championship. He says that he will beat Von Wagner, win the ladder match and become North American Champion. A student names Dave mentions that Chase has never been Von Wagner as he asks how confident he has, and Chase asks Dave what he has accomplished before calling this "a teachable moment."

We hear from Nathan Frazer, who says that he was the guy that his soccer team turned to in order to get the win. He says that Axiom will pull out moves no one has ever seen before, but so will he, as this is the biggest match of their careers and it is "go big or go home." The third match in their best-of-three match

We hear from both Wendy Choo and Lash Legend, who talk trash about each other. Wendy Choo says Lash Legend is obnoxious and is taking her lightly, while Lash Legend wants Wendy Choo to get out of her way before she tastes the bottom of her heel again. Wendy Choo says Lash Legend will learn humility, while Lash Legend says she will put Wendy Choo to bed.

Ilja Dragunov beats Xyon Quinn.

Brutus Creed beats Damon Kemp by disqualification after Kemp hits Brutus with a chair on the outside in full view of the referee. After the match, referees run in to take the chair away as Kemp continues to attack Brutus, then Kemp tells Julius Creed to come get some if he wants some.

Backstage, Sanga gets some encouraging words from "The SuperDiva" Quincy Elliott following his loss from last week. After Sanga leaves, Xyon Quinn shows up. Quincy tells Xyon Quinn that he does not see the X Factor that Quinn claims that he has.

In footage from during the break, Nikkita Lyons says Kayden Carter put up a good fight, but she and Zoey Stark are going for the tag team titles. Toxic Attraction (Mandy Rose, Jacy Jayne, Gigi Dolin) shows up and says that is not happening, and Mandy says there are three of Toxic Attraction and two of them. A line of fire suddenly lights between them, and Alba Fyre shows up saying the odds have been evened. Toxic Attraction leave in their white SUV.

Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen beat Gallus (Joe and Mark Coffey) in a Pub Rules Match. After the match, security and referees have to hold Gallus Back, and one security guard and one referee get knocked out. Police officers have to come out and arrest Gallus to restore order. (This leads to a social media announcement after the show declaring that Gallus has been suspended indefinitely.)
