Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for September 8, 2020

Eric Young shows up to start tonight's show. Young says he is a world class man, athlete, professional wrestler and maniac, and at Slammiversary, Rich Swann pinned him and he had to take immediate action, which got the ball rolling and running over Swann and Eddie Edwards. Young says this was by design and that him winning the Impact World Championship was "100% inevitable." Suddenly, Alisha Edwards shows up. Alisha says Eric Young is nothing more than a coward who came back to Impact to make a statement only to injure people, including her husband Eddie, who she says will come back and take the World Championship. She says that Eddie has been through a lot, but she was not afraid of any of it and she is not afraid of Eric Young. Alisha says that Eddie is a fighter and that it is only a matter of time before Eddie whups his ass and takes the World title from him. Alisha also tells Eric Young that Eddie cannot even hold his daughter because of him. Eric Young tells Alisha "I don't care," which causes Alisha to slap him. Eric Young is unfazed, and he grabs Alisha. Tommy Dreamer shows up and smacks a Kendo stick into Eric Young's back, causing Eric to let go of Alisha and retreat. Tommy says he would be a hypocrite for piledriving women throughout his career, but Alisha, Eddie and Swann are like family to him, and that there are people who stayed when Eric Young left to maintain a home for him. Tommy then calls out Eric Young for injuring other people, then dares Eric Young to end his career and challenges him to any kind of match he wants tonight.

We see footage from earlier today of Moose boarding a plane.

Backstage, Rosemary and Taya Valkyrie talk. Taya says she is looking forward to the "wedding of the century," while Rosemary is trying to think of who to invite, which leaves the planning to John E. Bravo. Rosemary mentions that one of the guests is dead, but that this is just a speed bump in the plans. Rosemary leaves, then Taya Valkyrie comes up with some ambitious ideas for the wedding.

TJP beats Chris Bey. During the match, Rohit Raju shows up to get a closer look at the match at ringside.

It's time for Locker Room Talk. Tonight's guests are Kylie Rae and Susie. Madison Rayne asks Kylie Rae if she was at Wrestle House to dodge Deonna Purrazzo or find the perfect opportunity to striekes, but Kylie says "no" on both counts. Suddenly, Deonna Purrazzo and Kimber Lee show up and says they will not take cheap shots like when Kylie kicked Kimber in the face. Deonna then challenges them to a tag team match, which Kylie and Susie accept. All four women then leave.

Backstage, John E. Bravo is working on planning the wedding when Kiera Hogan and Tasha Steelz show up and take offense to not getting invited before telling John E. Bravo that he needs to be his own man and that they can show him how. Kiera tells John E. Bravo that he does not have Taya's permission to do everything, then leaves.

Brian Myers shows up. Myers says he and Willie Mack have gotten off on the wrong foot, then says he has traveled around the world multiple times, won championships on pay-per-view and shared the ring with Hall of Famers, and that Willie has nothing to be ashamed of. Myers then demands Willie shake his hand like a true professional, and gives him the opportunity to come to the ring to do so. Willie Mack shows up and says he'd rather put both hands around Myers' neck and shake it once or twice, then says that Impact management have given him a rematch against Myers tonight, right now. A referee shows up, and Willie Mack asks "Didn't they tell you to always bring your gear if you're a professional?" The match then starts.

Brian Myers beats Willie Mack after kicking Willie Mack in the groin after the referee is preoccupied with Myers' shirt, which Willie tosses off of Myers.

Backstage, Jordynne Grace says it is important to be graceful in defeat, then wants to know what Tenille Dashwood is doing showing up months after not appearing, then decides to go look for her. Grace knocks on Tenille Dashwood's door only to get Kaleb, Tenille's personal photographer. (Kaleb is Caleb Konley, who has appeared on Impact Wrestling in the past.) He says that Tenille has way more important things to do, then Jordynne asks when Tenille is coming back to work. We then get an animated screen announcing that Tenille returns next week, and Jordynne asks "Are you serious?"

Backstage, Kiera Hogan and Tasha Steelz are confronted by Taya Valkyrie, who tells them to stay out of her business and out of the wedding. When Kiera and Tasha talk back, Taya says she will take Tasha on right now.

The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley) retain the Impact World Tag Team Championships against The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz). After the match, The North ("All Ego" Ethan Page and "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander) rush into the ring and attack The Motor City Machine Guns, but the Machine Guns fight back. Ace Austin and Madman Fulton then show up and attack the Machine Guns. After a brief confrontation between The North, Ace Austin and Madman Fulton, both teams continue to attack The Motor City Machine Guns until The Good Brothers ("The Big LG" Doc Gallows and "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson) show up to attack Austin and Fulton. Wentz then takes out The North, Austin and Fulton from up top. The Good Brothers, The Motor City Machine Guns and The Rascalz stand tall in the ring.

We hear from Rob Van Dam and Katie Forbes. Forbes announces that next week, The Whole F'N Talk Show will makes its premiere on Impact Wrestling. RVD and Katie then proceed to make out.

We hear from Sami Callihan, who says that everything is about numbers, such as getting a victory against Rob Van Dam last week only to get beaten up. He says he has had other people's numbers in his career, but doesn't like anybody getting his own. He says that Katie Forbes has gotten his numbers and that she could be too much for him, then mentions The Whole F'N Talk Show premiering next week and promises he will not hack the show, as he has other plans.

Taya Valkyrie beats Tasha Steelz as John E. Bravo is doing some wedding planning on the phone at ringside. After the match, Kiera Hogan attacks Taya Valkyrie, but John E. Bravo gets between Kiera and Tasha.

Moose meets with an old football coach and asks him if he has seen Ethan Carter III. He says he has not seen him, then mysteriously says "Control your narrative. You have been warned." Three men in black hoodies show up, but Moose gets away.

The Impact Plus Flashback Moment of the Week is Ethan Carter III vs. Moose vs. Mike Bennett from August 11, 2016.
