Clash of Champions 2020 - The LIVE Results







It is announced that Nikki Cross will not be here and that the Women's Tag Team Championship matches will not be taking place tonight. Bayley, however, is still in the building, and her match will be addressed tonight.

Backstage, Kayla Braxton interviews Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura. Cesaro says that victory is guaranteed due to the strife in The Lucha House Party (Kalisto, Lince Dorado, Gran Metalik), and that they will enjoy retaining and beating them tonight. When Kayla mentions that The Lucha House Party have gotten wins on them as of late, Cesaro tells her to get out of their Champions' Lounge.

Bakstage, Alyse Ashton interviews Andrade and Angel Garza. Angel Garza says playing the field is a lot more fun and that nobody needs baggage weighing them down, and he and Andrade agree that Zelina Vega instigated their problems. Andrade says they have each other's back, and nobody can measure up. Angel Garza then says that if The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) want the smoke, they must first put out their fire.

Cesaro and Shinuke Nakamura retain the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships against The Lucha House Party (Kalisto and Lince Dorado) on the kick-off.



John Cena narrates the opening for the show.

Sami Zayn beats "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles and Jeff Hardy in a Triple Threat Winner Takes All Ladder Match to become the WWE Intercontinental Champion after handcuffing Jeff Hardy's ear to a ladder and handcuffing Styles to the ladder in the center of the ring while he is halfway up. After the match, Kayla Braxton interviews Sami Zayn, who says the Intercontinental Champion was his all along and that he just retained.



Backstage, R-Truth - still dressed like a prospector after the kick-off - accidentally walks into the referee's room. As he leaves, one of the referees asks if he needs something, then Drew Gulak shows up and pins R-Truth to become WWE 24/7 Champion.

We see a preview for WWE Chronicle: Jey Uso on the WWE Network.

Asuka retains the WWE Raw Women's Championship against Zelina Vega with the Asuka Lock. After the match, Charly Caruso interviews Asuka, who says that Zelina is like a firecracker: small, yet dangerous. However, Zelina was not ready for her. She then offers her hand to Zelina, who then bows to Zelina. Asuka bows back, and Zelina gets a cheap kick on her. Asuka then grabs the microphone and yells at Zelina.



Bobby Lashley retains the WWE United States Championship against Apollo Crews with the Hurt Lock.



NXT TakeOver 31 is next Sunday on the WWE Network at 7 PM Eastern/4 PM Pacific!



The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) retain the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships against Andrade and Angel Garza. On the post-match replay, it is noticed that Andrade kicked out of The Anointment by Angelo Dawkins before the three-count. Medical staff tend to Garza after the match.



The WWE Draft begins on October 9th on SmackDown and continues on October 12th on Raw!



Backstage, Kayla Braxton interviews Drew Gulak, who says that one of his first rules is "Always be alert," and that allowed him to seize his moment and win the WWE 24/7 Championship. As he dedicates his victory to Akira Tozawa, he is attacked from behind by R-Truth with a metal bowl, and R-Truth pins Gulak to become a 40-time WWE 24/7 Championship. He then says "You could've had a V8!", clicks his heels in the air and leaves.

Bayley shows up. Bayley makes light of Nikki Cross having to forfeit her SmackDown Women's Championship opportunity tonight, then says she will not let the fans down, and she will give the opportunity of a lifetime for the title in a match against her tonight. When nobody immediately shows up, Bayley demands that the referee get in the ring and raise her hand, then Asuka shows up to answer the open challenge.

Asuka beats Bayley by disqualification after Bayley hits her with a steel chair. Bayley retains the WWE SmackDown Women's Championship. After the match, Bayley is hit from behind with a steel chair by Sasha Banks, then both women brawl until Bayley overpowers her. Bayley then grabs another steel chair and a Kendo stick, but Sasha fights back and grabs the Kendo stick. Sasha smashes the Kendo stick into Bayley's back, and as Bayley tries to crawl towards a steel chair, Sasha stops her and nearly whacks Bayley with the chair as Bayley retreats.



Drew McIntyre retains the WWE Championship against Randy Orton in an Ambulance Match. During the match, Randy Orton is grabbed by the leg by Big Show, who proceeds to choke slam him through the announce table. Later, when the match goes backstage, Orton is attacked by Christian. Later still, Orton stomps McIntyre's fingers off the roof of the ambulance only for "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels to show up and hit Orton with Sweet Chin Music. The match ends after McIntyre hits Orton with his own signature punt to the head before putting him in the ambulance and closing the doors. After the match, "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair is at the driver's seat of the ambulance.

Roman Reigns - now without his trademark vest - retains the WWE Universal Championship against Jey Uso. During the match, Roman Reigns gives Jey Uso a massive beatdown as he forces Jey Uso to acknowledge him as "the tribal chief." Jimmy Uso limps to the ring and - despite Jey's Uso wishes for him not to do it - is forced to throw in the towel after Roman throws multiple vicious mounted punches at Jey. Jimmy then acknowledges Roman as "the tribal chief" to end the show.
