Raw Deal - Raw recap for September 28, 2020

"The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, Big Show, Christian and "The Heartbreak Kid" show up to start tonight's show. Shawn Michaels introduces Drew McIntyre to the ring. McIntyre says that he has known Ric Flair, Big Show, Ric Flair and Christian for a long time and thanks them for their help throughout his career, and says that last night, he and Randy Orton went to war, but he is still standing as WWE Champion. Michaels says everyone is here to collectively thank him for "whipping that Orton ass," and says that while they were healing from what Orton did to them, they decided to get revenge despite McIntyre not needing them. As McIntyre says that he already proved he can beat Orton at SummerSlam, Orton appears on the TitanTron and says it is not over between them until he is WWE Champion, and that McIntyre does not know what hell is yet. Orton says he will get another title shot because he is a thirteen-time world champion, and that there is a price to be paid for crossing "The Legend Killer." He is then seen leaving the arena from backstage. McIntyre then announces that he is issuing an open challenge to anyone in the back who has not faced him for the WWE Championship yet, despite being banged up from last night, and dares the locker room to step up.

Backstage, Kayla Braxton interviews Zelina Vega, who says she is just getting started and that everyone will feel sorry for Asuka after tonight, as Asuka is not ready for her. Asuka shows up and says she is ready for her, and hopes that Zelina is ready to lose to her again. Asuka and Zelina argue, and referees show up before it gets physical.

Asuka retains the WWE Raw Women's Championship against Zelina Vega with the Asuka Lock after catching a top rope moonsault.

"The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels, Christian and Big Show are seen playing poker backstage.

Andrade is in the ring. He tells Zelina Vega that she is nothing without her, even though she blames him for everything. He calls her "the weak link" for losing to Asuka twice, then says he was the one holding the team of him and Angel Garza together. He then asks who wants to face him tonight, then Keith Lee shows up to answer his open challenge.

Keith Lee beats Andrade.

In footage from earlier today, a random employee sits near MVP and Shelton Benjamin. When Bobby Lashley shows up, he scares the man away from the table as well as his own. The three of them then joke about it and Lashley eats the man's food.

In footage from earlier today, R-Truth plays chess with Little Jimmy when a ninja shows up, bows and offers a message. R-Truth dabs, then reads it. In the note, Akira respects R-Truth as a respectable opponent, then the ninja opens a briefcase. Inside is Tozawa's black belt, which R-Truth takes. As Truth ponders why Tozawa had to get devoured, Tozawa crawls out from underneath a table to pin R-Truth and win the 24/7 Championship. All of a sudden, the ninja hits Tozawa with the briefcase and wins the 24/7 title before revealing himself to be Drew Gulak. R-Truth hits Gulak with the briefcase and pins him to win the 24/7 title, then runs. Tozawa and Gulak point at each other and chase after him. It is then announced that there will be a Triple Threat Match for the WWE 24/7 Championship between R-Truth, Gulak and Tozawa later tonight.

Backstage, Seth Rollins meets with Murphy, and says it is a big night for them before noticing that Murphy is dressed for a match. As he tells Murphy to put on the suit he got for him, Murphy leaves his cellphone. Rollins notices it and takes it.

It is time for The King's Court. Tonight's guests are the Mysterio family. Rey Mysterio says that Seth Rollins cannot control house and is trying to disrupt is, and that he and his wife Angie have worked hard to create a strong and loving family, which means the world to him. He says that it takes a very evil man to fabricate the lies that Rollins has. Dominik Mysterio says that this has gone too long and too far, and that he will end this if he sees Seth Rollins again. Aalyah says she is still a bit upset after last week, and while her parents have an image of her, she is still 19 years old. She also says that Murphy approached her, and that whoever surrounds themselves around Rollins needs to re-evaulate their life choices. After Aalyah calls Rollins "a fraud," Rollins appears on the TitanTron and mentions that someone in the Mysterio family is not being honest with everyone else, and says that Aalyah might not be telling the truth about how she feels about Murphy. He then says that they don't have to believe his words, and that they can see it for themselves. He shows some DM's between Aalyah and Murphy. When Rey confronts Aalyah, Aalyah says that Murphy is not like Seth and leaves. The rest of the family follows Aalyah to the back. Meanwhile, Murphy confronts Rollins for putting the DM's out to the world, and after he grabs Rollins by the jacket collar, Dominik attacks Murphy. Officials have to pull Dominik and Murphy off of each other.

Dominik Mysterio vs. Murphy is official for later tonight.

Lana says that they are celebrities and demand the women's tag titles right now, then Adam Pearce shows up and says that will not happen, then gives them a match right now against the newest members of Raw's women's division: Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke.

Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke beat Natalya and Lana.

We hear from Aleister Black, who says that while Kevin Owens is a good man - or claims to be one - he thrives in a system where he can manipulate the viewer and that he has a knack for betraying people who lie on him. He also says that he could not help Kevin Owens with Murphy because he was busy spending time with his family. To him, family represent cruelty, especially from his own father, and asks Owens if he has taught betrayal to his own son. He then takes off his face bandage and tells Owens that while other people may forgive and forget with Owens, he will definitely not forget.

"The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels, Christian and Big Show are still playing poker backstage. Big Show says that he might answer Drew McIntyre's open challenge, then The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) show up.

R-Truth retains the WWE 24/7 Championship against Drew Gulak and Akira Tozawa.

Backstage, Charly Caruso interviews Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke. Mandy says she has had some ups and downs lately, but Dana Brooke has been there for her and has been an amazing athlete. Dana calls Mandy an inspiration for getting up every time she gets knocked down. Mandy says they will be watching the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship Match and that they will be coming for the titles. Suddenly, Dominik Mysterio is seen getting ready for his match.

Murphy beats Dominik Mysterio with a schoolkid pin and a grab of the tights after Aalyah shows up to tell Dominik to stop hurting Murphy. After the match, Dominik attacks Murphy with a Kendo Stick. Aalyah tries to talk Dominik out of it, but Dominik says he is doing this to protect the Mysteiro legacy. When Dominik says Rey is right and that Aalyah is naive, Aalyah slaps him and leaves.

Backstage, Dolph Ziggler tells Adam Pearce that he has the perfect guy in mind for Drew McIntyre's open challenge. Meanwhile, MVP tosses a water bottle at a nearby janitor and tells the janitor to clean it up as The Hurt Business (MVP, Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin) head to the ring for the next match.

Before the next match, MVP tells Apollo Crews that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result, and that Apollo makes the same dumb mistakes over and over. He also says that Apollo will never see the WWE United States Championship again, especially after "getting dropped" at Payback and Clash of Champions, and that tonight will be no different.

Apollo Crews, Ricochet and Mustafa Ali beat The Hurt Business (MVP, Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin). Before the match begins, the lights go out and Retribution making their presence known. The match starts during the commercial break.

"The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels, Christian and Big Show go all in on the backstage poker game. Flair wins with a Royal Flush.

We see another vignette for Bianca Belair where Bianca beats three other people in a set of races one by one. The second race gives her opponents a head start, and the third has hurdles.

We see a video package about Retribution's recent activities.

Drew McIntyre's open challenge is answered by Dolph Ziggler, who brings out Robert Roode, who has not been seen in months.

Drew McIntyre retains the WWE Championship against Robert Roode.

Backstage, the janitor from earlier pulls a steel chair out from his cleaning cart and heads to the Legends Lounge, then unmasks to reveal he is Randy Orton. He puts some goggles on, enters the room, turns the lights off and goes on the attack. When he turns the lights back on, everyone else is laid out and the room is a mess. Orton leaves, then leads officials into the room before walking off with the cleaning cart.
