Generation NXT UK - NXT UK recap for September 24, 2020

In memory of Joe Laurinaitis "Road Warrior Animal", 1960 - 2020.

In backstage footage from earlier today, Assistant Sid Scala asks for decorum between the participants of the Heritage Cup participants, but it all goes out the window when Noam Dar's phone gets knocked out of his hands.

Walter beats Saxon Huxley.

Backstage during the break, Jack Starz says "Better luck next time" to Saxon Huxley, which only makes Huxley more angry.

Assistant Sid Scala is in the ring with the seven participants of the Heritage Cup Tournament. Numbers are randomly drawn to determine where participants will be seeded in the tournament. Scala then introduces Pete Dunne, who has not been seen on WWE programming in months, to the ring. Dunne says the Heritage Cup is for those who have paved the way in British wrestling, and says it is the participants' turn to pave the way and continue the tradition. Numbers are then drawn. Joseph Connors will face "The Bomber" Dave Mastiff. Connors refuses to shake Mastiff's hand. The wild card entrant will face Trent Seven, "Flash" Morgan Webster will face A-Kid (both of whom shake hands), and Alexander Wolfe will face Noam Dar. Dar tries to punch Wolfe, but Dunne gets in the way and breaks his fingers before tossing him out of the ring.

Backstage, Dani Luna and Xia Brookside help Piper Niven get focused backstage.

Pretty Deadly (Sam Stoker and Lewis Howley) beats The Hunt (Wild Boar and Primate) following Howley distracting the referee. After the match, Eddie Dennis has a word with Pretty Deadly.

Backstage during the break, The Hunt run into "Flash" Morgan Webster and Mark Andrews, who tell them that things will get better. Meanwhile, Assistant Sid Scala talks with Pete Dunne, who agrees to referee Noam Dar vs. Alexander Wolfe in the Heritage Cup next week.

Next week: a Triple Threat Wild Card Match to decide the final participant in the NXT UK Heritage Cup Tournament!

Kay Lee Ray retains the NXT UK Women's Championship against Piper Niven. During the match, Kay Lee Ray hits her knee on the steel steps after Piper Niven dodges a knee strike, and while Kay Lee Ray is helped to the back, Niven says she is taking the NXT UK Women's Championship from her. Kay Lee Ray slaps Niven, then Niven slaps Kay Lee Ray, and the match continues when Niven gets Kay Lee Ray back into the ring. Later on in the match, Kay Lee Ray pulls a bottom turnbuckle cover off as Piper Niven pulls her out of the corner. The match is won when Kay Lee Ray dodges a cannonball senton and Piper Niven hits the exposed turnbuckle in the process. After the match, Jinny is seen watching Kay Lee Ray from behind the guardrail.
