Generation NXT UK - NXT UK recap for March 20, 2019

General Manager Johnny Saint and Assistant Sid Scala are in the ring to start tonight's show. They announce that they have received some extraordinary news: they have been given permission for Pete Dunne to defend the WWE United Kingdom Championship at NXT TakeOver: New York. While the decision to have the title defended was an easy one, the hunt for a worthy competitor for Dunne begins. Suddenly, Dunne shows up. Dunne immediately demands Walter as his opponent as soon as he gets in the ring, then leaves.

We hear from Toni Storm, who says that while she and Jinny are different, they have one thing in common: they love gold. The only reason why she is a champion, however, is because she knows how to be one. She thinks that this is why Jinny has a problem with her, as she has to work hard for something when they are in the ring. As Toni leaves, Rhea Ripley shows up and says that if Xia Brookside wants another match with her, she should quit dreaming.

Eddie Dennis beats Ligero.

We see footage from earlier this week at the UK Performance Center where Amir Jordan talks with Kenny Williams about going for the NXT UK Tag Team Championships. This leads to a training montage where Amir Jordan attempts to do a pull-up.

"Wild Boar" Mike Hitchman and "Primate" Jay Melrose - now known as "The Hunt" - beat Sam Stoker and Lewis Howley.

Kassius Ohno beats Ashton Smith in his NXT UK debut. After the match, Kassius Ohno helps Ashton Smith up, then hits him with a discus elbow to knock him back down. As Ohno leaves, "The Kiwi Buzzsaw" Travis Banks shows up to check on Ashton Smith. Ohno tries to sneak in a cheap shot, but Banks notices him and the referee has to force Ohno to the back.

We see a vignette where Gallus (Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey, Wolfgang) regroups in a pub. Joe Coffey proclaims that they need to re-establish dominance in NXT UK.

Tyler Bate beats James Drake.

Walter is seen backstage walking away from General Manager Johnny Saint's office. Johnny Saint and Assistant General Manager announces that Walter will challenge Pete Dunne for the WWE United Kingdom Championship at NXT TakeOver: New York.
