Raw Deal - Raw recap for September 21, 2020

Retribution causes chaos to start the show. One of them is clearly Mia Yim (even as Retribution have always been played by different people during every appearance) as they remove their hoods but maintain their masks, and says the fighting continues as they continue to be stepped on for some imaginary brass ring and plan to rebuild the company in their image. As they say that they will train the lifeblood of WWE themselves so that WWE does everything they can to keep them down to get their payday, Retribution states that they will make WWE pay for their win. Suddenly, The Hurt Business (MVP, Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, Cedric Alexander) show up. The Hurt Business clear Retribution out of the ring, and MVP questions Retribution's courage when they show up before giving Retribution an opportunity to fight them tonight. Lashley says they will beat Retribution down and look good while doing it. Suddenly, more members of Retribution show up and surround the ring, and The Hurt Business fight them off only for the numbers game to catch up to them very quickly.

Backstage, Sarah Schreiber interviews Rey Mysterio, who says that family is everything and that to watch Dominik Mysterio get his first title opportunity is an honor.

The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) guest on commentary for the next match.

The team of Andrade and Angel Garza beat the team of Seth Rollins and Murphy and the team of Humberto Carrillo and Dominik Mysterio in a Triple Threat Tag Team Match to face The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) for the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships at Clash of Champions after Seth Rollins walks out on Murphy, saying he has more important things on his mind.

Backstage, Shane McMahon leaves Raw Underground to guest on The Kevin Owens Show.

Retribution says that The Hurt Business (MVP, Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, Cedric Alexander) could have been part of the solution, but they have bent their knee to WWE and become part of the problem, and they wanted their opportunity out of greed. Retribution states that The Hurt Business will pay in retribution.

It's time for The Kevin Owens Show. Tonight's guest is Shane McMahon. Owens says that their history over the last two years is water under the bridge, and says that tonight is about Shane promoting Raw Underground. Shane promotes Dabba-Kato vs. Braun Strowman on Raw Underground later tonight, and mentions Owens being on Raw Underground recently and meeting Dabba-Kato, whom Shane brings out. Owens admits that he had Shane guest on tonight's edition of The Kevin Owens Show because he knew Dabba-Kato would not be far behind, and tells Dabba-Kato they will face each other at the point before slapping Dabba-Kato's in the face. As Shane holds Dabba-Kato back, Owens introduces Braun Strowman. Shane tells both Strowman and Dabba-Kato that if they want their fight, they will save it for backstage at Raw Underground. Suddenly, Aleister Black attacks Kevin Owens, crotching him on the ring post.

Backstage, Charly Caruso interviews Drew McIntyre, who says it is business between himself and Keith Lee, and tonight, they will beat the hell out of each other before laughing about it over drinks that will be on him.

Backstage, Retribution is seen attacking random WWE wrestlers. One member of Retribution states that the Superstars are the sickness and that they are the judges, jury and executioners.

The Hurt Business (MVP, Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, Cedric Alexander) vs. Retribution is official for later tonight.

Drew McIntyre vs. Keith Lee ends with McIntyre being attacked from behind with a steel chair by Randy Orton. After the match, Orton forces the steel chair into McIntyre's jaw, then throws the chair down and punts Keith Lee in the head.

After the commercial break, Randy Orton says his track record in WWE speaks for itself and that he has no plans to walk out on a world title match, then says Clash of Champions is not a normal world title match before looking at the ambulance parked near the stage. Orton talks about how McIntyre placed him in to the back of the ambulance, and he remembered the sirens blaring as he went in and out of consciousness as he realized how it felt like for anyone he took out. It was then that he remembered who he is and what he is capable of, and that he knew he had what it takes to become WWE Champion. He then says that for some, the ambulance represents hope and healing; for others, hurt, pain and even death. But for him, the ambulance will represent his fourteenth world championship, and he will make sure McIntyre takes one more ambulance ride as his championship reign flatlines.

Backstage, Sarah Schreiber interviews Asuka. Suddenly, Billie Kay shows up and says Zelina Vega had a point when she said that Asuka was willing to take on anybody who wanted the WWE Raw Women's Championship. Suddenly, Peyton Royce wants an opportunity. Asuka asks if Billie and Peyton are still friends, and Billie says that while they are not a team, that does not mean they cannot support each other. Asuka tells Peyton she will face her tonight after Peyton says that Asuka won't be champion after Clash of Champions.

Zelina Vega beats Mickie James to face Asuka for the WWE Raw Women's Championship at Clash of Champions.

Backstage, The Hurt Business (MVP, Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, Cedric Alexander)and Retribution brawl again, and this time, Retribution is outpowered. MVP says that if Retribution wants to play games, The Hurt Business can play games too.

We see a vignette for Bianca Belair in the Performance Center. In the vignette, Bianca puts one of the male Performance Center recruits to shame in the weight room.

In footage from earlier today, Akira Tozawa and a ninja referee wait for R-Truth in the ocean with knowledge that R-Truth will be there. Meanwhile, R-Truth shows up at the beach with Little Jimmy when Little Jimmy sees a shark. R-Truth runs away, as does Tozawa and the referee, but R-Truth drops the 24/7 Championship. R-Truth and Little Jimmy go looking for the title twenty minutes later, but the shark returns. R-Truth saves the 24/7 title and Little Jimmy, but Akira Tozawa's ninja robe is found in tatters.

Before the next match, MVP tells Retribution that they will be in a six-man tag match and that they will definitely know why they are The Hurt Business (MVP, Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, Cedric Alexander) and "the executioners." Cedric says that if someone sends a message to The Hurt Business, they should expect one back tenfold. He then tells Apollo Crews that he will get even with him for using him for championship opportunities he did not deserve. He also tells Apollo he does not give a damn about him or his kids. Apollo shows up with Ricochet and says he thought he would never see this side of him, and that all he and Ricochet care about is punching him in the face. He also says he has not forgotten about the United States title, and on Sunday, he will be a two-time United States Champion.

Apollo Crews beats Cedric Alexander with a La Magistral Cradle. After the match, Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin shows up, and this distracts Apollo and allows The Hurt Business to gang up on him and Ricochet. Lashley then puts Apollo in the Hurt Lock.

It's time for Raw Underground. Arturo Ruas faces Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler goes for a takedown, but Ruas gets him up, slams him down and goes for the armbar. Ziggler rolls out and punches Ruas to escape, then goes for the sleeper. Ruas takes Ziggler down, and Ziggler has to fight out of a knee-bar by hitting him in the mouth. Ziggler then goes for a deep choke, and Ruas is out. Afterwards, Briana Brandy interviews Braun Strowman for Shane McMahon, who is not impressed what he is seeing and that he will break any and all challengers.

Seth Rollins shows up with a manila envelope. Rollins says it is no secret that he has had the Mysterios' number for some time now, and that he thought it would all be over after his steel cage match against Dominik Mysterio; however, something has been bothering him about the Mysterios for quite some time. He says he should let this go, but he was inspired to dig deeper after WWE.com posted a series of photographs of the Mysterio family this week, and says it is time to show the truth. We see a photo of Rey Mysterio and his family, and says it does not seem fathomable that Dominik could not be Rey's biological son. He then says he got with a few people for an investigation, then asks the Mysterio family to come to the ring. The Mysterio family shows up, and Rey Mysterio says they are all tired of his mind games and plan to give him a beating like they did Murphy. Rollins says he has grown to respect the Mysterio family and what they stand for, and says that for this, they deserve to know the truth, as the envelope he has in his hands contains a DNA test. After asking if Rey is really Dominik's biological father, he pulls out the DNA test and announces that Rey is not Dominik's biological father, but Rey says they have been through this before, and it did not work then and will not work now. Rollins then says he may have made a mistake, and then questions whether Allyah is Rey's biological daughter before saying he has concrete evidence to back it up in the form of Allyah checking on Murphy last week, saying it is not something a Mysterio would do. Rey says that he and Allyah have talked about this, and that he has raised Allyah to be a caring individual before telling Rollins to keep her name out of his mouth. As Rey says Allyah knows nothing about the wrestling world, Allyah suddenly takes offense and leaves. Rey and Angie follow Allyah to the back, and Dominik looks at Rollins before heading to the back. Rollins says he did not mean to drive a wedge in the Mysterio family, and says he is sorry. As Rollins walks up the ramp, he slowly elicits a smile.

The Riott Squad (Ruby Riott and Liv Morgan) guest on commentary for the next match.

Nia Jax and "The Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler beat Natalya and Lana with a Kirifuda Clutch to Lana. After the match, Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler briefly attack The Riott Squad (Ruby Riott and Liv Morgan), then Nia grabs Lana and puts her through the announce table with a Samoan Drop.

Backstage, Charly Caruso interviews Drew McIntyre in the trianer's room. McIntyre says he will "beat the piss" out of Randy Orton on Sunday, then says he will go and pick a fight before leaving.

Backstage, Rey Mysterio talks with Allyah, who says that she does not need his protection and that she is here to support Dominik Mysterio, and that she is not just a naive 19-year-old. She leaves, but Angie stops Rey before he can go after her.

Back on Raw Underground, Erik and Riddick Moss square off. Both men go at it, but Erik hits a hard right and suplexes Moss only to receive a hard right himself and get knocked out. Afterwards, Briana Brandy and Shane McMahon interviews Dabba-Kato, who says that tonight, Braun Strowman will feel what he is all about.

It is announced that Mandy Rose is coming soon to Raw.

Asuka vs. Peyton Royce ends with Zelian Vega attacking Asuka only for Asuka to fight back.

Backstage, Allyah is met by Murphy, who says that what is going on regarding Seth Rollins has gone way out of hand, and says that if he has done anything to hurt her, he is sorry.

Back on Raw Underground, Braun Strowman and Dabba-Kato are in the ring. Strowman goes for a choke-out, but both men go to the outside briefly before going back to the ring, where Braun Strowman knocks Dabba-Kato out.

Retribution (Slapjack, T-BAR, Mace) vs. The Hurt Business (Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, Cedric Alexander) ends with the referee calling for the bell after the match gets out of control. After the match, more members of Retrubution show up and MVP gets in the ring, and Retribution have the upper hand until Drew McIntyre shows up with the rest of the Raw locker room, who rush the ring and outpower Retribution. The show ends with McIntyre being in the ring only to be hit with an RKO out of nowhere by Randy Orton.
