Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for September 22, 2020

Trey Miguel beats TJP and Chris Bey to earn a shot at the Impact X Division Championship. After the match, the title match happens, but Rohit Raju - who has been at ringside the whole match - rolls Trey Miguel up and grabs the tights to retain the championship.

We hear from Eric Young, who says that Scott D'Amore has seven days to think about what he said, and that he will have a clear conscience and sleep like a baby, for everything will be on D'Amore and Rich Swann. He says that Rich Swann is doing this the hard, and that everything that happens from here on out will be Swann's fault.

Backstage, Kaleb says that Tenille Dashwood is busy at the moment, but she will be ready for later tonight. Tenille shows up and says that she is going to win tonight.

Susie beats Kimber Lee after Deonna Purrazzo inadvertently hits Kimber Lee from the ring apron, then nearly turns into Su Yung again. After the match, Deonna attacks Kylie Rae, and Susie slaps Deonna a few times before Deonna puts her in the Fujiwara Arm Bar. Kylie grabs Deonna and throws her out of the ring. Kylie Rae tells Deonna that if she wants to bully her and Susie, that is fine, because the Knockouts Championship will be hers at Bound For Glory.

We hear from Heath, who says he needs a job not just because he has kids, but because professional wrestling is a thing he loves to do. He says he wants to be in Impact as it has the best competition in the world and because Rhino is there. Rhino sounds and looks like he is reading from a cue card as he hypes up the #Heath4IMPACT hashtag, then we see a few celebrities on Cameo tell Impact Wrestling to hire Heath. D'Lo Brown (called "DeLorean Brown" here) also says that Heath needs a job. Heath then mentions his car got repossessed last night, and D'Lo says this is nothing like Repo Man stealing Bret Hart's jacket. We also hear from Heath's two daughters, who also tell Impact Wrestling to hire Heath.

The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley) are met by The Good Brothers backstage, then The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz) show up, and The Rascalz demand respect from The Good Brothers ("The Big LG" Doc Gallows and "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson) when The Good Brothers call them young boys. The Good Brothers say if they want a match, they've got it.

The Impact Plus Flashback Moment of the week is Bully Ray vs. AJ Styles at Bound For Glory 2013.

We hear from Ethan Carter III, who tells Moose he knows what it is like to have the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. He says that it is times like these that we control our narratives. He says that through technology, it is time for everyone to band together and help Moose find the TNA World Heavyweight Championship and give any and all relevant information to Moose's cell phone at (407) 457-8494. (Author's note: The number doesn't go to anything other than a voicemail that hasn't even been set up yet. Don't even call it. Seriously.)

Backstage, Rosemary tells Taya Valkyrie that she was unconscious backstage when Taya asks here where she was during her match last week, and says that they must be on the same page if they want things to work. Rosemary says she will help with Taya's problems first, then Taya will help with hers. Taya proposes she helps Rosemary with her problems before Rosemary helps her out. As Taya says that John E. Bravo is handling all the details for the wedding, John E. Bravo talks with a few members of the locker room, saying it is time for everyone to dig their heels in and get to work. The Deaners (Cody Deaner and Cousin Jake) leave for their match, then Johnny Swinger takes offense to Fallah Bahh being the best man. After Fallah Bahh calls Swinger "Captain Spandex," Tommy Dreamer declares it is match time before Bravo tells him to shut up and asks who is experienced in scrapbooking.

Backstage, Brian Myers takes offense to being called a cheater in his last match against Willie Mack and flips a table, then Tommy Dreamer shows up to tell him to calm down, not be disrespectful and clean up the mess he made. Myers refuses, saying he wouldn't let his "wrestling dad" talk to him like this, much less his real dad. He then says he will clean it up, then warns Dreamer to walk the other direction the next time he sees him in the hallway.

Eric Young attacks The Deaners (Cody Deaner and Cousin Jake) before the next match, then gets Cody Deaner in the ring. Cody fights back and brawls with Eric Young, but Eric hits him with a piledriver in the middle of the ring. Cousin Jake gets in the ring, and Eric Young retreats after a couple of forearms. When Jake checks on Cody, Eric Young gets back in the ring and attacks Jake again. Eric Young then hits Cousin Jake with a piledriver before grabbing a microphone and asking if Eddie Edwards, Rich Swann and Scott D'Amore are watching before saying that everything that happens from here on out is on them. Eric Young says that his hand was forced and that he gave Eddie and Swann the easy way out as he continues to attack The Deaners, then tells Scott D'Amore that it is his choice what happens from here on out. He then proceeds to taunt Cody before stomping on him and Cousin Jake, then proclaims it is his world and that everything is under his control and his design from now on. He then boots Cody out of the ring before going for an ankle lock on Jake. Security shows up, but Eric Young levels them before going for Cousin Jake's leg ankle again. Scott D'Amore shows up and tells Eric Young to let Jake go, and D'Amore has to get in the ring to break the hold and tell Eric to use his head. Eric Young forces Scott D'Amore into the corner then Eddie Edwards shows up and attacks Eric Young, forcing Eric to retreat.

Backstage, Eddie Edwards tells Scott D'Amore that he cannot let people walk over him, and demands a rematch so he can end Eric Young's reign of terror, saying he should be the one getting it and not Rich Swann. D'Amore tells Edwards he has his rematch at Victory Road, and tells him to be the leader he says he is.

Rob Van Dam beats Sami Callihan. As per pre-match stipulation, Katie Forbes gets five minutes in the ring with Sami Callihan. Katie Forbes and Rob Van Dam attack Rob Van Dam, but Sami Callihan throws a steel chair at Rob Van Dam before planting Forbes into the mat with a Cactus Special.

Backstage, Ace Austin says he always has a plan, then says that he and Madman Fulton are next in line for the tag team titles after winning last week. The North ("All Ego" Ethan Page and "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander) then show up, saying they were champs for over a year and that Austin and Fulton were lucky to tag with them. After Ethan Page says they were responsible for Austin and Fulton winning, Madman gets in The North's faces, and this leads to Page proposing a match between both teams next week.

Next week: Johnny Swinger vs. Fallah Bahh, where the winner is John E. Bravo's best man! Rosemary and Taya Valkyrie vs. Havok and Nevaeh! The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz) vs. The Good Brothers ("The Big LG" Doc Gallows and "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson)! Ace Austin and Madman Fulton vs. The North ("All Ego" Ethan Page and "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander)!

Kaleb introduces Tenille Dashwood before the next match.

Tenille Dashwood beats Jordynne Grace following the distraction from Kaleb on the ring apron.
