Raw Deal - Raw recap for September 7, 2020

Randy Orton shows up to start tonight's show. It is announced that Drew McIntyre is cleared to compete at Clash of Champions. Orton says that he said last week that he would jump through hoops for the WWE Championship rematch he is entitled to, yet he is facing Keith Lee in a one-on-one match tonight, and the more they cross paths, the more likely he is to kick Keith Lee in the head. Orton then addresses McIntyre, saying they will face off for the WWE Championship if McIntyre recovers in time, and that McIntyre may not make it to the event due to how he repeatedly attacked and punted him two weeks ago. Orton says that without McIntyre cleared to compete, he should be handed the WWE Championship. Suddenly, an ambulance shows up in the arena, and McIntyre walks out of it and Claymores Orton. Officials quickly move into place to stop McIntyre.

In backstage footage from earlier today, The Hurt Business (MVP, Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin) attack a janitor, blaming him for saying something about Shelton Benjamin's mother.

Backstage, Drew McIntyre is confronted by Adam Pearce and security for wreaking havoc tonight while not being medically cleared for tonight. McIntyre tells Pearce he will leave, then Pearce asks security to get to work.

Before the next match, The Hurt Business (MVP, Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin) attack Cedric Alexander on the stage.

The Hurt Business (MVP, Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin) beat Apollo Crews, Ricochet and Cedric Alexander after Alexander turns on and attacks Apollo and Ricochet.

The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) beat Angel Garza and Andrade after Garza walks out on Andrade and Zelina Vega. After the match, Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura show up. After the commercial break, Cesaro shows respect for the length of The Street Profits' reign, but he and Nakamura agree that they are remembered more for playing sports than defending their titles. Cesaro says they will prove they are what real champions are made of, and thanks for the brand-to-brand quarterly invitational, they will have a champions vs. champions next week. As Nakamura says he and Cesaro want the smoke, The Street Profits stop the and joke around before accepting their challenge. Cesaro cuts Montez Ford off so that Nakamura can say "smoke."

In footage from earlier today, R-Truth is at a restaurant with Little Jimmy when a ninja pops out of a serving cart. Akira Tozawa shows up with another ninja and a ninja referee, then R-Truth tosses the 24/7 title to Little Jimmy and manages to escape.

Peyton Royce beats Billie Kay. After the match, Peyton Royce helps Billie Kay up and hugs her.

As the Mysterio family is backstage, Murphy watches them from a distance.

Charly Caruso interviews the Mysterio family in the ring. Rey thanks Charly for having his family in the ring, and says there is nothing he would like more than closure with Seth Rollins, but that did not happen. He also says there is no timetable concerning his triceps. Rey says he is proud of his son Dominik, and says that Dominik knows what he needs to do. He says that while Murphy wants vengeance, Dominik knows what to do to put an end to Murphy. Before Dominik can speak, Murphy shows up on the TitanTron and says it is because of Dominik that Seth Rollins turned his back on him and berated him. Rey tells Murphy he chose to pledge loyalty to Seth and that he reaps what he sows. Murphy admits that Rey is correct, and says that while Dominik has a bright future in WWE, the ultimate sacrifice is to end it before it begins, and challenges Dominik to a Street Fight. Dominik says he is more than willing to embarrass Murphy in front of Rollins again, and accepts the challenge. Murphy tells Dominik to bring his family ringside, but Dominik tells Murphy that if harm comes to his family, he will tear him apart.

As Adam Pearce talks with Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler about their handicap matches with The Riott Squad, Drew McIntyre shows up. McIntyre tells Pearce that he had to return the ambulance before leaving the arena.

Asuka and Mickie James beat Natalya and Lana with an Asuka Lock to Lana as Mickie James is about to hit a move from the top rope.

Backstage, Shelton Benjamin talks with Cedric Alexander, saying that if what he is doing is a set-up, that The Hurt Business (MVP, Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin) will get back at him.

It's time for The MVP Lounge. Cedric Alexander - tonight's guest - follows The Hurt Business (MVP, Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin) into the ring. MVP states that Cedric Alexander has made a career-changing decision in joining The Hurt Business, and that his life will change from here on it. Bobby Lashley gives Cedric an official Hurt Business shirt, and Cedric says he would rather learn and earn. He says that he was going broke with Ricochet and Apollo Crews, then says he should not be sacrificing himself for someone else's championship opportunities and takes offense to Ricochet calling himself "The One and Only." Suddenly, The Viking Raiders (Ivar and Erik), Ricochet and Apollo Crews show up and run in to attack The Hurt Business, and immediately clear out the ring.

The Hurt Business (MVP, Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, Cedric Alexander) beat The Viking Raiders (Ivar and Erik), Apollo Crews and Ricochet. On the replay, it is revealed that Ricochet kicked out before the count of three, but the referee did not see it. (This is because the match ended early on a two-count due to Ivar seemingly suffering an injury.)

Backstage, Charly Caruso interviews Drew McIntyre, who is still in the business. McIntyre says he grabbed the wrong cellphone and that he cannot find a single exit out of the arena.

Backstage, Kevin Owens approaches the door to Raw Underground. Shane McMahon welcomes him in, despite the history between them, and Kevin Owens tells Shane he is still a jackass before going in.

Keith Lee vs. Randy Orton ends with a Claymore out of nowhere by Drew McIntyre following the RKO to Keith Lee. After the match, Adam Pearce confronts Drew McIntyre as he goes to the back again, then has referees check on Randy Orton.

It's time for Raw Underground. Aleister Black takes a man down with the Black Mass, then Kevin Owens shows up and proceeds to give Aleister a beating that goes outside of the mat.

Backstage, Adam Pearce apologizes to Randy Orton, and tells Orton that he has walked Drew McIntyre out of the building himself. Orton tells Pearce that his word means nothing to him.

The Riott Squad (Ruby Riott and Liv Morgan) beat "The Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler following the distraction by Nia Jax, who is unimpressed with Shayna.

Back on Raw Underground, Aleister Black and Kevin Owens are still going at it. Kevin Owens is still pounding away, but Aleister Black goes for an arm bar. Owens breaks free and slams him intot he wall to break the hold. The crowd soon attacks Owens and Aleister, and the two of them start fighting the crowd members.

The Riott Squad (Ruby Riott and Liv Morgan) vs. Nia Jax in a two-on-one handicap match ends with Retribution showing up. During the match, we hear from Retribution, who calls the Thunderdome a facade and that this WWE has left them in an unfair world where the powerful continue to grow while they feed on the scraps of content. Another member says that Retribution will soon seep into the pores of every Superstar and fan.

Backstage, Sarah Schreiber interviews Rey Mysterio, who says that Murphy wants Dominik by himself so he can get back on Seth Rollins' graces. However, they will be in Dominik's corner, and if Murphy tries anything, they can handle themselves.
