THE NXT LVL - NXT LVL UP recap for September 22, 2023

Ivy Nile beats Izzi Dame with the Diamond Chain.



In backstage footage from earlier today, Kelly Kincaid interviews Luca Crusifino. Crusifino says that if anyone knows anything about a blazer, it is him, but when Ikemen Jiro wears a jacket in the ring, he defaces it, and it is not the proper attire of an NXT Superstar. Kincaid mentions the fact that Crusifino wears a vest and a cut-off button-down, but Crusifino calls the blazer a foreign object in WWE by-law that is illegal to use, and that he will show Ikemen Jiro the error of his ways when he beats him tonight.

Luca Crusifino beats Ikemen Jiro after removing Ikemen Jiro's jacket and eventually throwing it into his face before grabbing his tights on a schoolkid pin. (This proves to be Ikemen Jiro's final match in NXT and WWE, having been released the previous day.)

Axiom beats Charlie Dempsey in Group A of the Global Heritage Invitational and earns two (2) points. Axiom finishes Group A in third place with three points, while Charlie Dempsey finishes in last place with three losses and no points.

Tavion Heights beats Ikemen Jiro, earning his first one-on-one victory in NXT.



In backstage footage from earlier today, Kelly Kincaid interviews Karmen Petrovic. She says that she lost in her last match despite being a winner in everything she has done on her road to WWE, but the path to glory always starts with defeat. She says that she has faced plenty of setbacks and that it only makes her work harder. She says that Fallon Henley may have the experience, but she was bred for combat, and tonight, things change, and Fallon Henley will be on the wrong end of a loss while she scores a big win.

Joe Coffey beats Akira Tozawa in Group B of the Global Heritage Invitational and scores two (2) points.

Jacy Jayne beats Karmen Petrovic.



Backstage, Sarah Schreiber interviews Brooklyn Barlow - now wearing a tie-dye get-up - who has not been seen in a while due to a knee injury that caused her to be out of action for almost a year. She says that since then, she has found her mojo and she has her first match back. She says that this is her show and she is back on her journey back to where she belongs, and all she needs is to show that all the work she has done to get back here was all worth it.

Dani Palmer beats Brooklyn Barlow.



Oro Mensah beats Ikemen Jiro after Jakara Jackson gets on the apron so that Lash Legend can drag Ikemen Jiro into the corner so that Oro Mensah can get the win.

Damon Kemp beats Ikemen Jiro.



In footage from earlier today, Kelly Kincaid interviews Karmen Petrovic. Petrovic says she grew up in a wartorn part of Eastern Europe, and she saw more by the age of five than most people see in their entire lives, so she is not intimidated by Ivy Nile. She admits Ivy is a force to be reckoned with and has more in-ring experience, but she has 23 years of combat experience in multiple disciplines and more medals than she can count. Petrovic says she is determined and she is ready to show who she is.

In backstage footage from earlier today, Kelly Kincaid interviews Izzi Dame, who says that she is the friend that nobody wants but everyone needs, and is not liked but well-respected for keeping it real. She calls herself the reality check that NXT needs, and that "it is what it is."

Generation NXT - NXT recap for December 27, 2022

Backstage, The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) get focused back on in-ring action, while JD McDonagh says he will give Julius Creed a gift in the form of a loss tonight.

Julius Creed beats JD McDonagh after avoiding a top rope moonsault. After the match, Indus Sher (Veer Mahaan and Sanga) show up. Sanga says The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) have proven themselves, and Veer Mahaan says they will finally face off in two weeks at New Year's Evil and get the respect they deserve by beating The Creed Brothers.





Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Tony D'Angelo and Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo. D'Angelo says he will end this year with his first title after what has happened between him and Wes Lee, and Stacks says that Dijak will not be an issue tonight.

We hear from The Schism (Joe Gacy, Rip Fowler, Jagger Reid, Ava Raine). Gacy says he has heard their lifestyle has been intimidating to everyone in 2022 and that everyone who has opposed them has not been treated favorably. Rip Fowler, Jagger Reid and Ava Raine say that Malik Blade, Edris Enofe and Odyssey Jones' look for short-term thrills lead to long-term insecurities. Rip Taylor say they were masks of fake happiness and that they cannot live happily and multiply, and Gacy says that The Schism's bonds are what allows The Schism to be successful.

Wendy Choo beats Cora Jade.



Backstage, we hear from Ikemen Jiro, who says his jacket is part of who he is and that it is what makes him number one, and without it, he is just Jiro. He says the jacket is what makes people smile more, and he will beat Scrypts tonight and take his jacket back.

Backstage, Josh Briggs gets Fallon Henley focused on her match for the bar with Kiana James tonight. Meanwhile, Brooks Jensen is more focused on his shirt, and does not mention Fallon by name when Briggs asks Jensen whose side he is on.

Scrypts beats Ikemen Jiro. After the match, Scrypts drapes Jiro's jacket on top of a downed Jiro and leaves.



We hear from Oro Mensah, who says that he is in the middle of the action and that night life heightens one's senses. He says that when the music is right, it is all about the moment, and he is bringing that moment to NXT.



Lyra Valkyria is next!

We hear from Alba Fyre, who says that Isla Dawn's mystical darkness has pushed her to her breaking point and that she has awakened a deeper fire inside her soul. She says that the fire of her ancestors is stronger than the darkness of Isla Dawn's spirits, and next week, anything goes, and she will end this feud and end Isla Dawn as well.



Lyra Valkyria beats Lash Legend.



We hear from Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne. Gigi says that this year has been Toxic Attraction's (Mandy Rose, Gigi Dolin, Jacy Jayne), and Jacy Jayne says that even at their lowest point, everyone's eyes have not shifted away from them. Gigi says that they were created by doubt and that they have built their success off the back of the non-believers, and Jacy says they will rebuild and regroup by taking down the woman who took down their empire. (Mandy Rose is not seen or even mentioned once during this promo.)

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Bron Breakker. Bron admits he fell into Grayson Waller's trap, and while he is all better now, he is not in the mood for games and he will be calling him out tonight. After McKenzie tells him that Grayson is not here tonight, she shows him a video message from Grayson Waller. Grayson says that while Bron is big and strong, he is smarter, and that he is home in Australia getting ready for his match with Bron. Grayson brags about being in Sydney Harbor and being at the Sydney Opera House and Bondi Beach, then says he is taking care of his body and his mind before taking Bron Breakker's title. He says that while Australia is home, he is bigger than Australia, and that he had to leave Australia to be even bigger. He then says he will be there for the contract signing on a special edition of The Grayson Waller Effect. Bron Breakker responds by throwing the TV into the lockers and leaving with the NXT Championship.



The Schism (Joe Gacy, Rip Fowler, Jagger Reid) beat Malik Blade, Edris Enofe and Odyssey Jones in a six-man tag match.



Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams. Trick Williams says that while Axiom is good, he cannot "whoop that trick." Carmelo says he will be NXT Champion in 2023, but Apollo Crews is standing in his way, and he has no problem getting him out of his way.

Fallon Henley beats Kiana James to regain control of her family's bar.



Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Roxanne Perez. Roxanne says being NXT Women's Champion is a dream she does not want to wake up from, but the honeymoon phase will wear off soon and she needs to be on point in order to defend her title. She says that all the past champions are Hall of Fame material while she is not even close, and that she does not take being champion lightly. Roxanne then says she will do everything she can to defend the championship.

We hear from Isla Dawn, who says that she is having fun with Alba Fyre and that she knows the evil in inside of her and is dragging it to the surface. She says an extreme resolution will happen when they face off next week.

Drew Gulak and Hank Walker are in the ring for The Drew Gulak Invitational. Hank Walker heads to the corner to Drew Gulak as he tells him that he will meet all sorts of opponents, then calls forward a newcomer named Lucah. Drew Gulak exhibits a chickenwing on Lucah, who taps out as soon as Drew lays on the hold. Gulak says a hold should be released as soon as the opponent taps, then brings forward Tavion Heights. Tavion and Gulak exhibit some amateur wrestling and how he can take control, and puts him in a leg bar. Tavion taps, and Gulak releases. Gulak then brings forward Myles Borne, then the two of them lock up. Myles gets behind Gulak, and as they go back and forth, Gulak eventually gets behind him and puts him in a sleeper, and Hank Walker has to remind him to let go when Myles taps. Shortly after this, Charlie Dempsey shows up and tells Gulak that if he wants to step up to a real wrestler, he can give him a run for his money. Hank Walker holds Gulak back before Dempsey says he will make an example out of Hank next week. Gulak says Hank will be ready.



Wes Lee retains the NXT North American Championship after Dijak shows up and holds Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo hostage, distracting D'Angelo in the process.

Generation NXT - NXT recap for December 13, 2022

Roxanne Perez is in the ring to start tonight's show. Roxanne Perez is in the ring to start tonight's show. Suddenly, Grayson Waller shows up in his Hummer honking a horn, interrupting Roxanne and making the opening to tonight's show all about himself. Roxanne has to yell at Grayson to shut up and tell him that he was not the only Iron Survivor, then says she did it before him and did it from the #1 spot. Grayson Waller calls Roxanne "Booker T's favorite wrestler" says Roxanne was #1 because she had to win before bedtime and that he was partying after his match, then admits that they had the biggest wins of their career and that Roxanne has peaked at 21 and will never beat Mandy Rose. Bron Breakker shows up and stands up for Roxanne and defends her talent, and that nobody gives a damn what Grasyon Waller thinks because Roxanne Perez is the future NXT Women's Champion. Grayson Waller asks Bron how his jaw is feeling before bragging about his two falls and becoming the next NXT Champion. When Waller says he is about making moments, Bron says they can make a moment right now and chases Waller out of the arena. Suddenly, Roxanne is attacked from behind by Mandy Rose, who tells Roxanne that she will never be champion.



In footage from earlier today, JD McDonagh learns he is cleared in the trainer's room when he notices The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) show up. After Julius Creed talks about his status and Brutus Creed tells McDonagh he will hurt him, McDonagh says he is glad he never had to wrap his hand around a brotherly relationship.

Roxanne Perez - who is still in the ring - calls out Mandy Rose, who is on the stage, and tells her that they are not waiting until New Year's Evil and that she wants a title match tonight. Mandy Rose tells her if she wants it, she's got it.

Backstage, Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo attacks Wes Lee from behind at the behest of Tony D'Angelo. This starts the next match early.

Wes Lee beats Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo. After the match, Dijak approaches, but Tony D'Angelo can be seen behind Wes Lee in the reflection of Dijak's sunglasses. D'Angelo lays out Wes Lee from behind, then tells Dijak he did his job for him.



Backstage, Andre Chase and Thea Hail see Duke Hudson shake hands with Drew Gulak and see it as Duke transferring. Andre apologizes to Duke, saying he was right about Isla Dawn. Duke accepts his apology, then says he is not transferring and that he will give Damon Kemp "a Chase University-sizes ass whupping."

Katana Chance and Kayden Carter guest on commentary for the next match.

Ivy Nile and Tatum Paxley vs. Toxic Attraction (Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne) ends with Katana Chance and Kayden Carter attacking Toxic Attraction when Jacy Jayne throws Ivy Nile over the announce table and into Katana and Kayden. Officials have to rush in to break up the brawl.



Backstage, Fallon Henley talks with her dad, who says that it will be a tough year with the bar. Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen tell Fallon they have her back, and that 2023 will be their year.



Backstage, Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes talk about the Iron Survivor Challenge. Carmelo says he should be the winner and could have won if it were 30 minutes, then Trick Williams sees a photo of the event on Axiom's Twitter that makes Carmelo look bad. Carmelo says that he will take out Axiom for this.



Odyssey Jones beats Von Wagner.



Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Javier Bernal, who says that he is a "one of one" talent and that he will prove it to his fans, whom he ultimately calls "Big Body Believers" before he leaves. McKenzie hopes Ikemen Jiro beats Bernal tonight.

Ikemen Jiro beats Javier Bernal. After the match, Scrypts attacks Ikemen Jiro from out of nowhere, puts on Jiro's jacket and hits Jiro with a 450 seated senton before mocking him.



We hear from Wendy Choo, who says that she is relieved that Cora Jade did not win the women's Iron Survivor Challenge after Cora Jade took her into a dark place, as she used to have friends who were like Cora Jade. She recalls a time when a so-called friend threw a drink at her at a slumber party, then says Cora Jade dredged the feelings from that memory back up and that she does not want to feel invisible or two inches tall ever again.



The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) head to the ring. Woods mentions that Kofi Kingston is now a Triple Crown Winners as a singles and tag team competitor, and that he has the most reigns in WWE history at fifteen. Kofi says that as special as the moment is for him, it is an even special moment for Woods, who was in NXT when it started ten years ago and was in the first NXT match ever against Big E. He says that he was the first person to graduate from the Performance Center, and that it never sat right with him that he never won an NXT championship until now. As The New Day are about to celebrate, Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilsona nd Elton Prince) show up. Kit Wilson says that The New Day ruined their Christmas, but Woods says they would never ruin Christmas because some guy dressed like Santa is in the audience. Woods also mentions England getting knocked out of the World Cup, then Elton Prince interrupts Kofi to ask for their rematch. The New Day say they are game for a rematch, but only if Pretty Deadly recites The Pledge of Allegiance. Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen show up and pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America with The New Day, much to the chagrin and horror of Pretty Deadly. Briggs and Jensen get a tag team title shot, also to the chagrin and horror of Pretty Deadly.



In backstage footage from earlier today, Elektra Lopez says Indi Hartwell can't win a bag match and that she would have won the women's Iron Survivor Challenge before she gets booted out of her chair by Indi Hartwell herself.



JD McDonagh beats Brutus Creed despite Indus Sher (Veer Mahaan and Sanga) stopping him from hitting Brutus Creed with a steel chair.



Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Zoey Stark. She says Nikkita Lyons could not hang in her ring for ten minutes, much less twenty-five, and is a waste of roster space. She says she wanted to save her from herself, then says she is not doing it for the clout before saying that she will bring the real talent.



Lyra Valkyria debuts next!

We hear from Isla Dawn, who says that the spirits have summoned an ethereal being into this realm and that Alba Fyre is suffering as the longest day of the year is coming. She brags about the quality of her black mist as she says that night will consume Alba Fyre as she waits for the light to return.

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Axiom. Axiom says that Carmelo Hayes is not as great as he thinks he is, and when he steps into the ring, he fears absolutely no one, and when he is done with Carmelo, he will have a huge smile on his face.



Backstage, Kiana James meets Brooks Jensen and gifts him with a dress shirt that fits after Brooks Jensen mentions Fallon Henley's bar problems. Meanwhile, Ivy Nile and Tatum Paxley argue with Kayden Carter and Katana Chance until Toxic Attration (Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne) attacks them. Officials have to break up the brawl.

Duke Hudson beats Damon Kemp. During the match, Drew Gulak shows up, but Andre Chase tells him to get lost.



Roxanne Perez beats Mandy Rose to become NXT Women's Champion, ending Mandy Rose's championship reign at 413 days. (The next day, it is revealed that Mandy Rose has been released due to adult photos she posted on an .)

Backstage, Kelly Kincaid interviews Valentina Feroz. In a promo that she cuts in Portuguese, Feroz hopes she is making Brazil proud, and while she misses being at home, she loves being in NXT and she is happy to represent Brazil. She looks forward to facing Sol Ruca and being challenged, because this is her jungle.

Sol Ruca beats Valentina Feroz with what looks like a reverse somersault into a cutter out of the corner.

Backstage, Kelly Kincaid interviews Javier Bernal. Bernal says people love to praise Andre Chase and that Chase has his students wrapped around his finger to the point that he is teaching them how to navigate through WWE, then says he did not go to a school and learned how to put up huge numbers in the weight room and how to fight elsewhere. He says Andre Chase and his "Chase U" section will earn that he is all business.

Kelly Kincaid interviews Nathan Frazer. Frazer says he has always looked up to Ikemen Jiro for his style, but he will meet his match tonight. Frazer also says that while he came to the United States to play soccer, then gets a basketball when he calls for a ball and says that soccet taught him agility, endurance and a powerful right foot. He then kicks the ball, but it hits somebody out of camera shot. Frazer runs away.

In backstage footage from earlier today, Kelly Kincaid interviews Sol Ruca. Sol Ruca says everyone works hard and wants to make a name for themselves, and while Elektra Lopez is a heck of a talent and a big test for her, Elektra is not prepared for the way she sees things and prepares, and she will turn her whole world upside down. Sol Ruca then walks away on her hands.

Backstage, Kelly Kincaid interviews Andre Chase, Bodhi Hayward and Thea Hail. Thea Hail gushes about their field trip to England, as does Bodhi Hayward. Andre Chase then says it is time to get back to work as they face Myles Borne and Javier Bornal, and guarantees that there will be a teachable moment tonight.

Generation NXT 2.0 - NXT 2.0 recap for June 28, 2022

Cora Jade and Roxanne Perez beat Katana Chance and Kayden Carter to earn a shot at the NXT Women's Tag Team Championships next week.



The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) train when Joe Gacy and his Dyad show up. Gacy says that if Roderick Strong does not appreciate their brilliance, then he does and he will welcome them into his family. Julius Creed says they are "not drinking the Kool-Aid" and that Diamond Mine is forever despite their infighting, then Roderick Strong and Damon Kemp show up and Strong calls Gacy an idiot before challenging him and his Dyad to a match. Gacy says he senses inner hostility and accepts the challenge.

Mackenzie Mitchell interviews Toxic Attraction (Mandy Rose, Gigi Dolin, Jacy Jayne). Jacy Jayne says she is unimpressed and that The Great American Bash will be easy with the kind of performance Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade put up tonight, and Gigi Dolin says next week will be no different from any other week. As Mandy Rose warns Roxanne Perez not to use her title match contract against her, Nikkita Lyons shows up and says that she could have won that contract if she did not get injured, then tells Mandy that she is back in the ring and that her eyes are on her. Mandy Rose says all eyes are always on her, and that if Nikkita wants a match, she will find she is queen of the jungle.

Giovanni Vinci beats Ikemen Jiro.



Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen's NXT UK Tag Team Championship victory from last week is mentioned.

Backstage, Mackenzie Mitchell interviews Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams. Carmelo says it takes hustle, loyalty and disrespect to be the "A-Champion," then Grayson Waller shows up. Grayson asks Carmelo to autograph some things for friends and family, saying they are all big fans of Carmelo Hayes, then leaves after Carmelo puts his autographs on a few things. Carmelo and Trick then think that Grayson is a trustworthy and alright guy.



Josh Briggs, Brooks Jensen and Fallon Henley head to the ring. Briggs says that they crossed continents and faced the best NXT UK had to offer, and while they brought the fight, he and Jensen brought the fight right back. He tells Oliver Carter and Ashton Smith that when they return, they have the NXT UK tag titles ready for them. Jensen talks about he and Briggs first met, then says that he busted his ass for him and thanks Briggs for picking him. Briggs says there is one thing left to do, and Fallon Henley then says "Let's drink some beer!" Suddenly, Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson and Elton Prince) show up. Kit Wilson is unimpressed, and Elton Prince says that they made the NXT UK tag titles pretty until they were dirtied by "American trash." Wilson says the titles smell bad, but Jensen says he just smells an ass-whipping. Elton Prince says Brooks and Jensen lowered the bar and the prestige of the NXT UK tag titles, then says that Pretty Deadly are the only ones who can bring them back up again. Briggs says the NXT UK tag titles have been held by great teams and that Pretty Deadly is not one of them, then says he and Jensen will be fighting champions and they can get to fighting right now before the both of them lay Pretty Deadly out.



We see a video package for Bron Breakker.

Backstage, Kayden Carter and Katana Chance are frustrated with their lack of success.

Kiana James beats Indi Hartwell after using the bottom rope for leverage.



In footage from last night, Tony D'Angelo and Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo are at a bridge. We find out that Troy "Two Dimes" Donovan has been pushed off the bridge (or it is implied that he has) for "making a move for [his] throne" and "breaking his heart," and that he is "sleeping with the fishes." After throwing Donovan's watch off the bridge and into the water below, D'Angelo then gets a phone call from a heckler who mockingly calls him the NXT North American Champion before throwing his phone off the bridge.



We hear from Wes Lee, who says that he was in the middle of the ring last week baring his soul when Trick Williams ruined the moment. He says Trick made a mistake for thinking showing his emotions made him weak when it is his strength. He says that he will have no pity for Trick Williams and that Trick will see that full strength next week after disrespecting him as a man, and that nothing and nobody will stop him from finding inner peace in the ring, especially Trick.



Joe Gacy and The Dyad beat Diamond Mine (Roderick Strong, Julius Creed, Brutus Creed) after Roderick Strong tags himself in, getting himself in a quarrel with Julius and Brutus Creed as a result.



Backstage, Mackenzie Mitchell interviews Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams. Trick says he will win next week, then Carmelo Hayes realizes that he was tricked by Grayson Waller when he signed things for him when asked about his match with him next week. Carmelo says that he will beat Grayson Waller next week and say "The A-Champ."

Lash Legend interrupts the doctor in the trainer's room and says that Alba Fyre has been put on the shelf permanently and that she talks the talk, walks and walk and makes everyone's mouth drop before warning the women's division to stay out of her way.



Xyon Quinn vs. Sanga becomes a brawl that quickly has to be broken up by referees before it can start.

Backstage, Roderick Strong and The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) argue with each other over tonight's loss, then Roderick Strong tells The Creed Brothers that he and Damon Kemp will teach them a lesson when they beat them for the NXT tag titles next week.

We see Wendy Choo tossing and turning in bed due to what Tiffany Stratton has said about her. Wendy then dreams about herself before waking up and heading to the bathroom to brush her teeth. Wendy then tells Tiffany that she gets under her skin, she goes for the pin and she gets the win, then tells Tiffany she will see her at The Great American Bash.



Roderick Strong and Damon Kemp vs. The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) for the NXT Tag Team Championships is now official for next week.

Nikkita Lyons beats Mandy Rose by disqualification after Jacy Jayne and Gigi Dolin attack her. Nikkita Lyons wins by disqualification. After the match, Toxic Attraction (Mandy, Gigi, Jacy) gang up on Nikkita Lyons, but Cora Jade and Roxanne Perez make the save for Lyons.



Backstage, Solo Sikoa talks with Apollo Crews about his loss to Grayson Waller, saying Grayson got lucky. Apollo tells Solo that he will get Grayson back and that he is magic in the ring. Xyon Quinn shows up and says that does not mean much coming from Apollo, who tells Solo Sikoa "I've got this." Solo leaves, then Xyon Quinn says things have changed in three years and that he should leave if he is here to turn a new leaf. Quinn also says he is the perfect WWE Superstar, not Apollo. Apollo says Xyon's future may look bright on paper, but when he looks at it, it does not look too good.



We see another vignette for JD McDonagh, who is coming soon to NXT.



Wade Barrett moderates a face-to-face meeting between Cameron Grimes and Bron Breakker. Grimes comes out first, followed by Breakker.Breakker says that Grimes is going to bring it in their match next week as he has everything to gain and nothing to lose, but Grimes says that for Breakker, it is just another title defense, and if Breakker loses it, he can go to the main roster. Grimes says he does not have a back-up plan like Breakker does, then says that calling his father and getting into pro wrestling was Breakker's back-up plan when football did not work out. Breakker says that Grimes is not the first person to mention his family, then says that Grimes is not going to the moon when he Spears him in half. Grimes says Breakker may knock him down, but he will keep getting back up. Breakker says that is fine, because he will keep knocking him down until he beats and leaving him calling Ted DiBiase to figure out what to do next. Grimes says Breakker may have size, strength and speed, but he does not heart and neither did his father. Breakker and Grimes brawl, and he throws Breakker into the corner so hard that the top rope snaps off on all four corners. Referees check on Breakker as Grimes brags that he will be able to beat him at less than 100%.

Generation NXT 2.0 - NXT 2.0 recap for April 12, 2022

Cameron Grimes retains the NXT North American Championship against Solo Sikoa after Sikoa has to fight off Trick Williams on the outside. After the match, Grimes is attacked from behind by Carmelo Hayes. Sikoa punhces Hayes, but Trick gets back in the ring and goes back on the attack alongside Carmelo and the two of them lay out Grimes.



We hear from Grayson Waller and Sanga. Waller says that tonight's gauntlet match should not be happening and that the NXT tag titles should have been handed to them. He says that a "pissed" Sanga is going to tear through the other teams while he watches. (MSK - Nash Carter and Wes Lee - have been stripped of the titles and Carter released following allegations of abuse from Carter's wife Kimber Lee, as well as the release of a photo of Carter with a Adolf Hitler-style mustache performing a "sieg heil" salute.)

We hear from Malcolm Bivens, who says that The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) will beat Pretty Deadly's (Kit Wilson and Elton Prince) asses. Brutus Creed says they will kill two birds with one stone when they beat them and take the NXT tag titles, and Julius Creed says they have proven they are the best. We then see Bivens and The Creed Brothers draw their number from a tumbler, and the three of them are happy with the number they have drawn.

Bron Breakker heads to the ring. Breakker says Joe Gacy wanted to send him a message and got his attention by kidnapping his father Rick Steiner. He says his father is safe and sound at home, but nobody messes with his family. He says that his father gave twenty years to the wrestling business, then dares Joe Gacy to get in the ring so they can see who the real tough guy is when Gacy is standing in front of him. Joe Gacy shows up on the TitanTron. He says he cannot be there tonight and that by getting to know Rick Steiner, he got to know Breakker better. He then produces Rick's Hall of Fame ring, which he says represents Rick's sacrifices.



Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interview Toxic Attraction (Mandy Rose, Gigi Dolin, Jacy Jayne) in the Toxic Lounge. Mandy Rose says they called their shot last week and Jacy and Gigi are tag team champs again, and that Dakota Kai has no chance of beating her for the women's title. She says that Toxic Attraction is the measuring stick that no one can reach.

Von Wagner attacks Jacket Time (KUSHIDA and Ikemen Jiro) backstage, and Robert Stone says "It looks like there's no match tonight."

In backstage moments from moments ago, Bron Breakker angrily leaves the arena and declines an interview.

Robert Stone and Von Wagner are in the ring. Stone says Jacket Time are out of time and that the fans will never see them again after what Wagner did to them. Suddenly, Ikemen Jiro shows up. An angry Ikemen Jiro drop kicks Von Wagner out of the ring and chases Robert Stone out, then Ikemen Jiro says he is pissed and wants to kick Von Wagner's ass right now.

Von Wagner beats Ikemen Jiro. After the match, the mystery woman shows up in the stands and points at the ring. At her behest and not Robert Stone's, Von Wagner throws Ikemen Jiro over the barricade and into the first row.



Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Nikkita Lyons. Nikkita says Lash Legend does a lot of trash talking and is very athletic, but she only has herself to prove things to. She is then suddenly pump kicked out of her chair by Lash Legend.



We see a vignette for Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson and Elton Prince).

Backstage, Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson and Elton Prince) draw a number from a tumbler. They enjoy the number that they have drawn.

Mandy Rose retains the NXT Women's Championship against Dakota Kai after the distraction and interference from Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne. After the match, Wendy Choo drenches Toxic Attraction with a pair of Super Soakers.



We hear from Joe Gacy, who says that we are a society that lives through social media and emotion and ruled by the court of public emotion and not the court of law. He says the truth is what people believe, not what they know. He says that people do not know what they want until they are given what they need, then says that Bron Breakker is carrying NXT on his back when he is the only one who can lead NXT. He says that Bron Breakker is too emotional and that he can easily control, and while he desires to destroy everything in his life, he plans to hand on to his father Rick Steiner's ring, which he pulls out of the campfire and wears.



Backstage, Legado del Fantasma (Santos Escobar, Elektra Lopez, Joaquin Wilde, Raul Mendoza) is met by Tony D'Angelo, who says that they had a little misunderstanding last week, then gives him an envelope in case things do not go his way tonight. Escobar puts the envelope back in D'Angelo's jacket and says respect is worth way more than money.



Cora Jade heads to the ring. She says WrestleMania weekend was the most important weekend of her life, and it was bigger than she could have ever imagined and her parents got to see her perform. Cora says she held her own against three talented women in the ring, and while she came up short, she now knows she needs - not wants - to become Women's Champion, as she wanted to be a champion since she was a kid. She says that she has always meant that and that she will work to become a champion and be like the women that she looked up to. Suddenly, Natalya shows up. Natalya thanks the fans for their support and says the Performance Center brings back so many memories, then says it is good to finally meet Cora Jade, who is a big fan of her. She says that she remembers Cora Jade from a house show from Hammond, Indiana in 2011 and pointing at her in the crowd, then says she pointed at the right girl in the crowd and can tell she has passion for the business. Natalya says she has mentored, trained and competed against some of the greatest female Superstars in WWE history, and when she looks at the landscape of the women's division, she sees Cora Jade as the future of that division. She then says the future is bleak before slapping Cora Jade in the face and putting her in the Sharpshooter, making Cora Jade tap out as referees try to stop Natalya.



Backstage, Fallon Henley, Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen are fired up for the tag team title gauntlet match.

We see a vignette for Nathan Frazer, who says he has a one-way ticket to America to show what he is all about in NXT.



Xyon Quinn beats Draco Anthony.



Backstage, Natalya walks through the women's locker room. Tatum Paxley challenges her to a match to prove herself to Diamond Mine, and Natalya accepts before telling the rest of the locker room they are on notice.



Backstage, Indi Hartwell and Persia Pirotta realize that if Dexter Lumis and Duke Hudson were in tonight's tag team title gauntlet, they would win the whole thing. After some coaxing, both men reluctantly agree to team up.



Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson and Elton Prince) beat Legado del Fantasma (Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza - the latter of whom has been name-changed to Cruz del Toro), the team of Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen, the team of Grayson Waller and Sanga and The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) to become the NXT Tag Team Champions!
