Generation NXT 2.0 - NXT 2.0 recap for June 28, 2022

Cora Jade and Roxanne Perez beat Katana Chance and Kayden Carter to earn a shot at the NXT Women's Tag Team Championships next week.

The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) train when Joe Gacy and his Dyad show up. Gacy says that if Roderick Strong does not appreciate their brilliance, then he does and he will welcome them into his family. Julius Creed says they are "not drinking the Kool-Aid" and that Diamond Mine is forever despite their infighting, then Roderick Strong and Damon Kemp show up and Strong calls Gacy an idiot before challenging him and his Dyad to a match. Gacy says he senses inner hostility and accepts the challenge.

Mackenzie Mitchell interviews Toxic Attraction (Mandy Rose, Gigi Dolin, Jacy Jayne). Jacy Jayne says she is unimpressed and that The Great American Bash will be easy with the kind of performance Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade put up tonight, and Gigi Dolin says next week will be no different from any other week. As Mandy Rose warns Roxanne Perez not to use her title match contract against her, Nikkita Lyons shows up and says that she could have won that contract if she did not get injured, then tells Mandy that she is back in the ring and that her eyes are on her. Mandy Rose says all eyes are always on her, and that if Nikkita wants a match, she will find she is queen of the jungle.

Giovanni Vinci beats Ikemen Jiro.

Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen's NXT UK Tag Team Championship victory from last week is mentioned.

Backstage, Mackenzie Mitchell interviews Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams. Carmelo says it takes hustle, loyalty and disrespect to be the "A-Champion," then Grayson Waller shows up. Grayson asks Carmelo to autograph some things for friends and family, saying they are all big fans of Carmelo Hayes, then leaves after Carmelo puts his autographs on a few things. Carmelo and Trick then think that Grayson is a trustworthy and alright guy.

Josh Briggs, Brooks Jensen and Fallon Henley head to the ring. Briggs says that they crossed continents and faced the best NXT UK had to offer, and while they brought the fight, he and Jensen brought the fight right back. He tells Oliver Carter and Ashton Smith that when they return, they have the NXT UK tag titles ready for them. Jensen talks about he and Briggs first met, then says that he busted his ass for him and thanks Briggs for picking him. Briggs says there is one thing left to do, and Fallon Henley then says "Let's drink some beer!" Suddenly, Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson and Elton Prince) show up. Kit Wilson is unimpressed, and Elton Prince says that they made the NXT UK tag titles pretty until they were dirtied by "American trash." Wilson says the titles smell bad, but Jensen says he just smells an ass-whipping. Elton Prince says Brooks and Jensen lowered the bar and the prestige of the NXT UK tag titles, then says that Pretty Deadly are the only ones who can bring them back up again. Briggs says the NXT UK tag titles have been held by great teams and that Pretty Deadly is not one of them, then says he and Jensen will be fighting champions and they can get to fighting right now before the both of them lay Pretty Deadly out.

We see a video package for Bron Breakker.

Backstage, Kayden Carter and Katana Chance are frustrated with their lack of success.

Kiana James beats Indi Hartwell after using the bottom rope for leverage.

In footage from last night, Tony D'Angelo and Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo are at a bridge. We find out that Troy "Two Dimes" Donovan has been pushed off the bridge (or it is implied that he has) for "making a move for [his] throne" and "breaking his heart," and that he is "sleeping with the fishes." After throwing Donovan's watch off the bridge and into the water below, D'Angelo then gets a phone call from a heckler who mockingly calls him the NXT North American Champion before throwing his phone off the bridge.

We hear from Wes Lee, who says that he was in the middle of the ring last week baring his soul when Trick Williams ruined the moment. He says Trick made a mistake for thinking showing his emotions made him weak when it is his strength. He says that he will have no pity for Trick Williams and that Trick will see that full strength next week after disrespecting him as a man, and that nothing and nobody will stop him from finding inner peace in the ring, especially Trick.

Joe Gacy and The Dyad beat Diamond Mine (Roderick Strong, Julius Creed, Brutus Creed) after Roderick Strong tags himself in, getting himself in a quarrel with Julius and Brutus Creed as a result.

Backstage, Mackenzie Mitchell interviews Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams. Trick says he will win next week, then Carmelo Hayes realizes that he was tricked by Grayson Waller when he signed things for him when asked about his match with him next week. Carmelo says that he will beat Grayson Waller next week and say "The A-Champ."

Lash Legend interrupts the doctor in the trainer's room and says that Alba Fyre has been put on the shelf permanently and that she talks the talk, walks and walk and makes everyone's mouth drop before warning the women's division to stay out of her way.

Xyon Quinn vs. Sanga becomes a brawl that quickly has to be broken up by referees before it can start.

Backstage, Roderick Strong and The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) argue with each other over tonight's loss, then Roderick Strong tells The Creed Brothers that he and Damon Kemp will teach them a lesson when they beat them for the NXT tag titles next week.

Sanga beats Xyon Quinn.

We see a video package for Cameron Grimes.

We see Wendy Choo tossing and turning in bed due to what Tiffany Stratton has said about her. Wendy then dreams about herself before waking up and heading to the bathroom to brush her teeth. Wendy then tells Tiffany that she gets under her skin, she goes for the pin and she gets the win, then tells Tiffany she will see her at The Great American Bash.

Roderick Strong and Damon Kemp vs. The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) for the NXT Tag Team Championships is now official for next week.

Nikkita Lyons beats Mandy Rose by disqualification after Jacy Jayne and Gigi Dolin attack her. Nikkita Lyons wins by disqualification. After the match, Toxic Attraction (Mandy, Gigi, Jacy) gang up on Nikkita Lyons, but Cora Jade and Roxanne Perez make the save for Lyons.

Backstage, Solo Sikoa talks with Apollo Crews about his loss to Grayson Waller, saying Grayson got lucky. Apollo tells Solo that he will get Grayson back and that he is magic in the ring. Xyon Quinn shows up and says that does not mean much coming from Apollo, who tells Solo Sikoa "I've got this." Solo leaves, then Xyon Quinn says things have changed in three years and that he should leave if he is here to turn a new leaf. Quinn also says he is the perfect WWE Superstar, not Apollo. Apollo says Xyon's future may look bright on paper, but when he looks at it, it does not look too good.

We see another vignette for JD McDonagh, who is coming soon to NXT.

Wade Barrett moderates a face-to-face meeting between Cameron Grimes and Bron Breakker. Grimes comes out first, followed by Breakker.Breakker says that Grimes is going to bring it in their match next week as he has everything to gain and nothing to lose, but Grimes says that for Breakker, it is just another title defense, and if Breakker loses it, he can go to the main roster. Grimes says he does not have a back-up plan like Breakker does, then says that calling his father and getting into pro wrestling was Breakker's back-up plan when football did not work out. Breakker says that Grimes is not the first person to mention his family, then says that Grimes is not going to the moon when he Spears him in half. Grimes says Breakker may knock him down, but he will keep getting back up. Breakker says that is fine, because he will keep knocking him down until he beats and leaving him calling Ted DiBiase to figure out what to do next. Grimes says Breakker may have size, strength and speed, but he does not heart and neither did his father. Breakker and Grimes brawl, and he throws Breakker into the corner so hard that the top rope snaps off on all four corners. Referees check on Breakker as Grimes brags that he will be able to beat him at less than 100%.

Here are the top ten moments from tonight's show!
