Generation NXT - NXT recap for August 29, 2023

In memory of Terry Funk, 1944 - 2023. In memory of Windham "Bray Wyatt" Rotunda, 1987 - 2023.

The Creed Brothers (Julius and Creed Brothers) beat The Dyad (Rip Fowler and Jagger Reid) in a steel cage match to be reinstated in NXT. Before the match begins, the masked followers of The Schism (Joe Gacy, Fowler, Reid, Ava) beat up Brutus Creed and carry him off to the back to make the match a two-on-one handicap match, but Brutus Creed shows back up later and takes out all of the masked followers as he chases Joe Gacy and Ava around before ripping the cage door clean off its hinges.

We hear from Roxanne Perez, who says that she once respected Gigi Dolin and Kiana James, but now she does not care if she has to go over three bodies to become champion again and that she starts the road back to what she never lost in the first place tonight.

We are introduced to the Global Heritage Tournament for a shot at the NXT Heritage Cup, as well as the participants: Axiom, Tyler Bate, Charlie Dempsey and Butch for Group A and Duke Hudson, Joe Coffey, Akira Tozawa, and Nathan Frazer in Group B.

Backstage, Tony D'Angelo and Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo are met by Carmelo Hayes, and they in turn are met by The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford). Carmelo leaves, then The Street Profits joke around with Stacks and D'Angelo when a bunch of wrestlers in the women's division suddenly brawl in front of them.

Meta-Four (Noam Dar, Oro Mensah, Lash Legend, Jakara Jackson) are seen watching from a distance before the next match.

Butch beats Charlie Dempsey in Group A of the Global Heritage Invitational. Butch scores two (2) points.

Backstage, Mackenzie Mitchell interviews Dragon Lee. Dragon Lee is soon interrupted by Mustafa Ali, but says that he is more of a deserving of a championship match with Dominik Mysterio, and that Dragon Lee lost in his one chance and that he is now up to bat.

Ilja Dragunov is in the ring. He admits that Trick Williams impressed him in their match and says he is not a mere entertainer or a sidekick, and that he deserves everyone's respect. He then says nothing stands in the way of his destiny: the NXT Championship. As he addresses Carmelo Hayes, Noam Dar interrupts for an impromptu SPRNVA Sessions to say everyone wants to see him, not Dragunov. This soon leads to an argument where Noam Dar says he has the Heritage Cup while Dragunov has nothing but excuses. Dragunov considers walking up to their lounge, but Noam Dar proposes a match. Oro Mensah says he will be in the opposite corner, and Oro and Dragunov soon brawl. Dragunov quickly gets the upper hand, and Oro Mensah retreats.

We hear from Mr. Stone and Von Wagner. Wagner says Bron Breakker had to blindside him twice, and says that next week, it will be the two of them in a no-disqualification match.

Elektra Lopez and Lola Vice beat Kelani Jordan and Dana Brooke.

We hear from Gigi Dolin. She calls chaos "the devil she knows," and says Tiffany was smart for making the four biggest threats to her title battle it out for a chance to face her, yet she allowed her in this match. She tells Tiffany she will see her next week.

Backstage, Carmelo Hayes meets with Trick Williams. He says that he does not want people to think he retained the NXT Championship because of Trick, and doubts Trick when he asks him if he can beat Dragunov one-on-one and Trick says he thinks he can. When Carmelo leaves, Trick says he does not think Carmelo can win; he knows he can win.

Dijak beats Eddy Thorpe with a loaded right hand on the outside as the referee is putting away a chair that Dijak has introduced into the match.

We hear from Kiana James, who says that her name exudes success and that while her opponents are good, they all fall short. She says she does not make excuses and make things happen no matter the cost, and she will do whatever it takes to get her hand raised.

Backstage, Bron Breakker meets with Baron Corbin as Corbin messes with a backstage worker, and demands a thank you for saving him from Von Wagner. Corbin says he does not care about him or Von Wagner, even as Breakker threatens to end him if he gets involved in their match.

Angel Garza wakes up at home and finds blood on his chest. As he washes it off, Humberto Carrillo shows up saying he had a dream of their grandfather Humberto Garza and woke up with a scratch on his chest, then Humberto Garcia mentions that he had the same dream and scratches. Angel takes this as a sign from Humberto Garza that they must start from scratch. Angel and Humberto return next week.

WWE looks back on the life and career of Bray Wyatt. A lone wooden rocking chair is seen on the stage afterwards.

We hear from Blair Davenport, who says that after a decade of destroying women all over the world, she is smiling not just because she knows she will become #1 contender, but because of the pain she will deal to her opponents.

We hear from Rhea Ripley and "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio. Rhea says people want a piece of Dominik, but Dominik will hold the North American Championship until he retires. Dominik tells Mustafa Ali and Dragon Lee to fight it out so he can fight the winner. At the behest of Rhea Ripley, who whispers into his ear, Dominik says that match must have a winner and that he will be special guest referee to ensure that.

Joe Coffey beats Nathan Frazer in Group B of the Global Heritage Invitational. Coffey scores two (2) points).

At Chase University, Thea Hail is noticeably absent. Chase asks Duke Hudson where Thea is, but Duke does not know and does not think she is skipping class. Chase mentions Duke Hudson being in the Global Heritage Tournament and the rules for the tournament, and after class lets out, Thea Hail shows up, and it becomes apparent that she is now hanging out with Jacy Jayne when Jacy suddenly shows up and Thea Hail skips out on study hall to hang out with her.

In footage from NXT Anonymous, Fallon Henley offers an invitation to Myles Borne to team with Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen, which Myles Borne takes after they both discuss Myles being the errand boy for Drew Gulak, Charlie Dempsey and Damon Kemp.

We hear from Wes Lee, who says that he is clearing his mind as he is in the desert after Heatwave did not go his way.. He says that he and Carmelo Hayes are done and that he beat himself, but he says that the outcome will be different when they meet again.

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Tyler Bate, who welcomes the challenge of Group A in the Global Heritage Tournament, especially with the history between himself and Butch involved. He then addresses Dabba-Kato, telling him he made a big mistake pushing him around before challenging him to a match next week so he can be the David to Dabba-Kato's Goliath.

Kiana James beats Gigi Dolin, Roxanne Perez and Blair Davenport in a Fatal 4-Way Match to become #1 contender for the NXT Women's Championship. After the match, Tiffany Stratton has a staredown with Kiana James in the middle of the ring.

The show ends with Carmelo Hayes meeting with Shawn Michaels in his office.

Generation NXT - NXT recap for August 15, 2023

Tony D'Angelo and Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo retain the NXT Tag Team Championships against The Dyad (Rip Fowler and Jagger Reid) after Ava, Joe Gacy and the rest of Schism block Ivy Nile's path when she shows up, allowing two of the masked men to attack The Dyad and allow the tag champs to retain.

We hear from Eddy Thorpe, who says that NXT is moving forward and that he cannot be left behind, and that he will move forward without fear.

Backstage, Wes Lee meets with Carmelo Hayes as he signs autographs and makes it known to him that once he beats Dijak, the next thing Carmelo will sign is a contract for a championship match against him.

Backstage, Andre Chase tells Duke Hudson that he has gotten Thea Hail a match with Jacy Jayne to get some of her anger out and get back on the winning track. Thea Hail shows up and is not impressed with Andre thinking he knows what is best, and tells him not to throw in the towel this time.

Blair Davenport beats Dana Brooke. During the match, Dana tries to use the ring bell as a weapon, but Kelani Jordan does not let her do it.

Backstage, Dijak confronts Carmelo Hayes as he signs autographs, telling him to save a picture for himself. Carmelo says him to focus more on Wes Lee, but Dijak tells him it will only be a matter of time before he comes for his title.

Trick Williams beats Drew Gulak after Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen attack Charlie Dempsey and Damon Kemp.

Backstage, Sarah Schreiber interviews Baron Corbin, who implies that he is saving what he has to say for the ring.

We hear from Dabba-Kato, who says that he has fought his way out of the shadows, and that when he returns, he will cast his own shadow upon NXT.

Baron Corbin is in the ring. Corbin says the best thing about being him is that he can say what he wants in NXT without consequence, and that he ran Gable Steveson out of WWE and nobody has seen him since. He then says everyone in the locker room is a bunch of "soft-ass little bitches" and that he is ushering a new era for himself where he puts himself back in the main event where belongs. Von Wagner and Mr. Stone show up and disagree with Corbin, then Mr. Stone says he knows what Corbin wants and has the qualifications to do so, and that Von Wagner is standing in his way. Mr. Stone then tells Corbin that Von Wagner is just getting started, then Corbin wonders why he is talking to Mr. Stone when he should be talking to Von Wagner. Corbin tells Wagner that he has to "learn how to talk on the stick" if he wants to succeed. Corbin then brags about how he went to toe-to-toe with The Rock and made the big bucks afterwards, and suggests that Von Wagner follow him unless he wants to stand in the shadows. Wagner says he may not have talked enough, but that may be because Corbin talks too much, then says he and Mr. Stone are tired of Corbin's sob story and that he will put him through a table at Heatwave. Corbin punches at Wagner, but Wagner fights back. Wagner then goes for a powerbomb through the table, but Corbin rams him into the ring apron, and security and officials get between both men.

Backstage, Rhea Ripley and "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio talk about how Dominik is the greatest North American Champion ever. She then says Lyra Valkyrie should have been happy with her endorsement, but she had to kick her in the face, and hopes that Dragon Lee and Lyra can work as a team against them at Heatwave.

We hear from Mustafa Ali, who says that the North American Championship has been carried by individuals who do not represent North America the way it should be represented it. He says the people of North American deserve better and deserve someone who is champion in and out of the ring, and that he is the North American Champion the people need. Mustafa says he will elevate the title to new heights and inspire people to do incredible things the right way, and that the time for a new North American Champion is now.

Wes Lee beats Dijak to become #1 contender for the NXT Championship after Eddy Thorpe distracts Dijak on the outside.

Backstage, Dragon Lee meets with Lyra Valkryia. Dragon Lee says he would be a champion if it were not for Rhea Ripley, but Lyra says she will kick Rhea so hard that Dominik Mysterio will feel it. She then says they have to be on the same page if they want to win. Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Tyler Bate. After seeing some video from "NXT Anonymous" where Gallus (Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey, Wolfgang) confronts Tyler Bate at a live event, Tyler Bate says that he does not react to anger and make it his own when it comes to his match with Joe Coffey.

We hear from Ilja Dragunov, who tells Trick Williams that fantasy will not become reality for him, and while he expects him to bring his confidence and swagger, he is bringing his raging fire, for next week will be a fight.

Backstage, Wes Lee leaves Shawn Michaels' office with a contract for an NXT Championship match at Heatwave.

Tyler Bate vs. Joe Coffey ends with Dabba Kato showing up and attacking Tyler Bate.

Backstage, Baron Corbin is met outside of the arena by Bron Breakker, who says he is not finished with Von Wagner. Corbin says he looked pretty finished when Wagner put him through a table, and tells Bron that he does not intimidate him.

It's time for Nathan Frazer's Hard Hitting Home Truths. Nathan Frazer talks about the matches on Heatwave, one of which involves him defending the Heritage Cup against Noam Dar. Suddenly, The Meta-Four (Naom Dar, Oro Mensah, Lash Legend, Jakara Jackson) take over the show. Frazer, knowing that this would happen, shuts down Noam Dar's attempts of accusing Frazer of making up conspiracy theories about him, then produces a button that calls Noam Dar a fraud every time Noam Dar lies. Unsurprisingly, the button gets plenty of exercise before Noam Dar tells Nathan Frazer that he will take back the Heritage Cup.

Jacy Jayne beats Thea Hail after Jacy removes a turnbuckle cover only for Andre Chase to get on the apron and cover it up, which gets Thea Hail angry at him. The unintentional distraction allows Jacy Jayne to beat Thea Hail with a roll-up.

We see a video package of what is going on with Los Lotharios, in which their grandfather Humberto Garza advises them to tear away their past and start a new beginning with no more games or distraction, reminding them that if one loses, the other loses.

Wes Lee meets with Carmelo Hayes, this time with the contract for their NXT Championship match this week. Carmelo tells Wes he will see him next week, but Wes says he is not waiting and takes the autograph table with him to the ring.

We hear from Tiffany Stratton, who says that she will see everyone next week at Heatwave.

After the commercial break, Carmelo Hayes heads to the ring, and Wes lee tells him to hurry up and sign the contract. Carmelo tells Wes Lee that he is about to turn back into his old self and tells him to chill. When Wes Lee mentions Carmelo having a luxurious life as NXT Champion, Carmelo tells him that is not the case and that his reign came with responsibilities much like Wes' reign as North American Champion. Carmelo says Wes' shot is next week, but he does not know if Wes will be "Him." Wes tells Carmelo that he was one of the chosen one while he had doubters his whole life and career that he proved wrong, even having beaten Carmelo for the North American title. Carmelo says Wes won the title, but he did not beat him, and that without him, nobody would give the North American title the time of day. Carmelo says he agrees with just about everything Wes is saying, but next week, Wes cannot beat him. Wes says he has turned doubters into believers and that his biggest doubter is himself, for doubt always resonates with him, but he will not fail anymore. Wes signs, then demands Carmelo does the same. Carmelo tells Wes he earned this shot, but tells him not to chase waterfalls and stick to the rivers and the lakes he is used to before signing the contract, saying that next week is not "Melo Don't Miss," but "Melo Can't Miss." Wes Lee stomps the table in half and tells Carmelo he will see him at Heatwave.

Generation NXT - NXT LIVE recap for July 4, 2023

Blair Davenport beats Roxanne Perez.

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Ivy Nile. Ivy admits she is nervous, but she is more focused than ever, as Schism (Joe Gacy, Rip Fowler, Jagger Reid, Ava Raine) is a poisonous and dangerous group who needs to be elimianted. Tiffany Stratton shows up and asks why McKenzie is not interviewing her after her first successful title defense. Ivy reminds her that she tapped out, but Tiffany says the referee never saw it. Tiffany asks Ivy if she has anything better to do, and Ivy tells her that luckily for her, she does, and leaves. Tiffany asks McKenzie if Ivy Nile leaves if The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) leave, but to her dissatisfaction, she finds out it is just The Creed Brothers.

We hear from Baron Corbin, who says that last Tuesday sucked after he did not walk out NXT Champion like he thought he would. He says he is sad and pissed off, and that the nostalgia of "The Lone Wolf" was not enough. He says he has everything someone would want, but what he does not have is the reputation, as he is seen as consistent, safe, and good. He feels "good" is an insult when he should be feared and respected, and if he wants to invest in his future, he must bank on the past. He puts mementos of his past gimmicks in a burning crematorium as he does not need a manager and that he did not do this for eight years to go back to the beginning. He says it is time to "burn all the ships" and that there is no going back and "no gimmicks, no nonsense, no bullshit."

Mustafa Ali beats Tyler Bate after crotching Tyler Bate on the top rope and tellling him "There can only be one" before hitting the top rope 450 splash for the win. Afterwards, Mustafa Ali looks into the camera and challenges Wes Lee to a match for the NXT North American Championship.

Backstage, McKenzie interviews Joe Gacy and Ava Raine. Gacy says he would never push a member of Schism (Gacy, Rip Fowler, Jagger Reid, Ava) into something their hearts were not ready for. Ava says The Dyad (Fowler and Reid) are "crucial roots" and that they will win tonight. Gacy says "the right team" will win and push The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) out of NXT, and that tonight, they eliminate a problem from NXT forever.

Kelani Jordan beats Tatum Paxley. After the match, Cora Jade shows up and congratulates Kelani on getting her first match, then mocks Dana Brooke and Kelani Jordan as "gymnasts sticking together" before stating that a friend of Dana Brooke is an enemy of hers, as she does not need any friends, mentors or fans, the last of whom have no effect of her. Kelani says she has a match left in her tonight and that they can go right here, right now. Cora tells Dana and Kelani not to tell her what to do ever, and leaves.

At Chase University, everyone welcomes Andre Chase back. Andre Chase calls Duke Hudson the university's MVP and congratulates him for stepping up and helping the school survive and thrive, then calls Thea Hail "the uncrowned NXT Women's Champion" for making Tiffany Stratton tap out. Chase says Drew Gulak and Charlie Dempsey have tried to poison the minds of the youth of Chase University, and when they attacked Duke Hudson and threatened Thea Hail, he could not take it anymore and he had to do something about it. When someone asks if Gulak and Dempsey will not be guest lecturing anymore, Duke steps up for Chase and tells them they will not be guest lecturing anymore after he and Chase give them "a Chase University-sized ass whupping."

Eddy Thorpe beats Damon Kemp by technical knockout (TKO) and referee stoppage in an NXT Underground Match after ramming Kemp shoulder-first into the ring post and elbowing Kemp repeatedly in the head while in a triangle hold. After the match, Kale Dixon shows up and tries to play around with Gable Steveson's gold medal, and that leads to Steveson suplexing him and multiple people who get in the ring who decide to step up to him.

We hear from Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams. Carmelo says that he and Trick do not take threats lightly, and that Rhea Ripley talked without saying anything. He says that as long as Damian Priest has the Money In The Bank contract, nobody is safe, but it is a different ballgame when someone is playing with him. He dares The Judgment Day (Finn Balor, Damian Priest, Rhea Ripley, Dominik Mysterio) to come to NXT and follow through on their threat, as he and Trick are judges, jury and executioners.

In prison, Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo visits Tony D'Angelo. D'Angelo tells Lorenzo not to play dumb with him before Stacks brings in Joe Coffey. D'Angelo thinks Stacks has betrayed him, but Stacks says that he and Coffey will have a match next week. If he wins, the charges against D'Angelo are dropped. Coffey then says that if he beats Stacks, D'Angelo will be stuck in prison, sent to trial, convicted and put away for a long time. D'Angelo thinks Lorenzo is crazy putting himself in a three-on-one situation , but Stacks - who is amazed that D'Angelo is doubting him - says business is good, envelopes are full and that he is making moves, and that this is his decision and that he will have to live with it. Coffey then mockingly says good-bye to D'Angelo, who is now furious at this point.

Lyra Valkyria beats Jacy Jayne. After the match, Jacy Jayne attacks Lyra Valkyrie, then takes Lyra's wings and tears them apart.

We hear from Noam Dar, who is seen talking to a picture of the NXT Heritage Cup and saying that he misses having it around and that he needs it back in his life. The rest of The Meta-Four (Oro Mensah, Lash Legend, Jakara Jackson) show up and say that something needs to be done about this, and carry him away from the picture.

At the office, Kiana James brags about what she did to Gigi Dolin on the phone only to find out her office has been vandalized. Kiana then finds a note saying "You can never outrun your past. Gigi." Kiana says that the gloves now come off.

Von Wagner is suddenly seen attacking Javier Bernal around the ring. Mr. Stone has to tell him not to powerbomb Bernal on the table, as well as not to military press slam him. Von Wagner takes his tanktop off, clears the commentary table and powerbombs Bernal into it. Von Wagner then has the adulation of the crowd. (It is later revealed during the digital exclusive video that Mr. Stone was trying to get Von Wagner to lay off Bernal, as he felt that Wagner's message had already been sent.)

We see another vignette for Bronco Nima and Lucien Price who are debuting in NXT next week.

The Dyad (Rip Fowler and Jagger Reid) beat The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) in a Loser Leaves NXT Match after a masked man in a red hoodie pops out of the crowd and headbutts Julius Creed as Ivy Nile goes after Ava Raine for interfering, which pre-occupies the referee. As per pre-match stipulation, The Creed Brothers must leave NXT.

We hear from Finn Balor, who says that there will be no happy endings for Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams when they meet next week.

We see footage from moments ago during the commercial break of The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) waving goodbye to the NXT fans.

Bron Breakker heads to the ring. He talks about how he competed in the greatest NXT match in history on the most-watched episode in two years after calling out Seth "Freakin'" Rollins, and while they had a war, not one person believed that he had a shot against Rollins until he Speared Rollins in the center of the ring and felt the energy in the arena drop. He says that while Rollins would go on to prove how good he was to the world, he came so close to winning the World Heavyweight Championship after having only 78 matches in his career, which has been here in NXT for the whole world to see every week. He then says that at 25 years old, he proved that he can hang with the best in the business and that he is "that damn good," and he tells people to get used to seeing his face for a long time to come, as he has opponents to beat and championships to collect. As far as what is next for him, he is suddenly interrupted by Ilja Dragunov, who says that he is next. He says he came to confront him like a man and let him know that there is only one person in his way of the NXT Championship: him. After Dragonuv states that he is the most dangerous man in NXT, he knees Bron Breakker in the face, starting a brawl that referees, security and even other wrestliers have to break up as the show fades to black.

Here are the top ten moments from tonight's show!

We see Tony D'Angelo's mugshots get taken.

Backstage, Gallus (Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey, Wolfgang) talks about how unstoppable they are and make fun of Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo. Stacks shows up and accuses them of ratting on Tony D'Angelo, then fights them only to get outnumbered before referees restore order.

Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams head to the ring. Carmelo and Trick brag about how Carmelo prevailed against Bron Breakker at Background, and says one sometimes takes shots to make shots and that he never misses. As Carmelo calls Battleground another brick in his foundation, Noam Dar shows up with his entourage of Oro Mensah, Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson and brags about how he beat Dragon Lee twice. Trick tells Noam Dar that interrupting Carmelo is a "super no-no," and while Carmelo is impressed with Noam Dar's victories, he is on a higher level than he is and Noam Dar cannot beat him once. Noam takes this a challenge, and dares Carmelo to put the NXT Championship on the line against him tonight. Trick says Noam is trying to catch Carmelo while he is tired, but Noam says Carmelo cannot do it night in and night out like him without "load management." Carmelo accepts the challenge.

Earlier today in the locker room, Cora Jade says she should have won the NXT Championship and that she should be the one being celebrated, but everyone screws her over. Ivy Nile shows up and says everyone is tired of her complaining, then tells her to suck it up. Cora Jade accuses Ivy Nile of giving her attitude because The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) lost and Ava Rayne kicked her ass, but Ivy asks Cora where she was Sunday night and says that nobody was bitching about her.

Backstage, Axiom is met by Reggie, who says that he was always called "Scrypts" by his friends. He thanks Axiom for removing his mask, which he says caused him to see the light. We then see footage from earlier today where Thea Hail and Duke Hudson are at wrestling practice, and Thea Hail says she has to get stronger before practicing with Charlie Dempsey.

Tiffany Stratton heads to the ring for a championship celebration. Tiffany says she is not surprised to be NXT Women's Champion and says that the title has been held by future hall of famers, then says she will show what it means to be a true champion. She says that when she sees a champion, she sees herself, as nobody can do what she is and the epitome of what a WWE Superstar is. She then asks the women's locker room to come to the ring, but they do not. They eventually do after Tiffany says she is about to announce her first opponent, then Tiffany goes on to insult the rest of the women's division by saying nobody is on her level before announcing there will be a #1 contender's battle royal to see who her next opponent is. Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams head to the ring, and run into Charlie Dempsey and Drew Gulak on the way there. Carmelo says that Trick Williams brought it to Bron Breakker when he defended his honor, then Bron decided to send him a message. He says that message has been received, and that neither he nor Bron are the same people from before Stand & Deliver. He says that people bite, not bark, in his hometown, then calls out Bron Breakker. Gulak and Dempsey show up instead, and Gulak says Carmelo's "sit-in" has gone for too long, then he and Dempsey say that Trick and Carmelo disrespected them as they breezed by while they found out their tag team match was not happening. As Gulak says that their lifestyles are not even alike, Carmelo says that when people chant for Gulak, they chant "Willy Wonka," then Trick takes this as a challenge and proposes a tag team match. Gulak asks Trick if they are sure they want to do this so close to a big match before hitting a cheap shot. Trick and Carmelo soon get the upper hand against Dempsey and Gulak.

Noam Dar says Dragon Lee has as much pride in Mexico as much as he has pride in the NXT Heritage Cup, and this leads to Dragon Lee taking this as a challenge for the cup. As Noam refuses to defend it and says Dragon Lee has no idea what to do in a Heritage Cup match, Nathan Frazer shows up, calls Noam Dar a massive fraud and says the cup has to be defended and that Noam cannot choose his opponents. After Nathan Frazer says he would love to see the Heritage Cup defended in the United States, this leads to Dragon Lee challenging Noam Dar for the Heritage Cup. Meanwhile, Malik Blade, Dante Chen, Axiom, Eddy Thorpe and Edris Enofe have watched Dabba-Kato's promo. As everyone agrees with Dabba-Kato is nobody to mess with, Axiom looks forward to taking Dabba-Kato on.

He says The Schism (Joe Gacy, Rip Fowler, Jagger Reid, Ava Raine) talks of friendship and unity, but they are sheep. As Wes Lee tells The Schism all they had to do was ask for a match, Joe Gacy and Ava Raine show up on the balcony. Gacy says he has never been dishonest about what he wants and that he wants the North American Championship, and Ava says that with every win, Wes Lee inches closer to becoming the greatest North American Champion ever, then asks what that will make Joe Gacy when he wins the title. As Joe Gacy and Ava Raine try to drive a wedge between Wes Lee and Tyler Bate by saying Tyler is deceiving Wes, Tyler says he has enough of the name-calling and that he will get a receipt at Battleground. Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams finally get Bron Breakker as they wait for him in the ring, but he arrives with security guards, whom Bron says he brought to protect Carmelo and Trick from him. Trick says the only one who needs protection is Bron, but Bron says he beat Trick. Carmelo says Bron is talking big for someone who needs security, and says he thought himself untouchable until he got touched. He then says that Bron will not take the NXT Championship. Bron says he and Carmelo fight for different reasons, saying Carmelo fights to retain his title while he just wants to destroy him in front of his hometown to embarrass him. Carmelo says Bron says that with so much conviction and belief, but they are in the main event because nobody else is cut like they are. He then says that beating Bron will help build the dynasty he will create over his body. Bron makes fun of the New England sports scene, then says he will end his dynasty before it begins and there is nothing he can do about it. This leads to a brawl between the two sides, and it ends with both Carmelo Hayes and Bron Breakker laying each other out, with Carmelo using the NXT Championship as a weapon.
