Serpentico beats Griff Garrison. During the match, Garrison inadvertently punches out the referee, and Maria Kanellis-Bennett passes a metal folding chair to Garrison. Garrison sets the chair up in the corner, then Angelico shows up and confronts Maria. As this goes on, Serpentico tosses Garrison into the chair in the corner, sets the chair up on its side next to Garrison, then grabs another chair and smacks it into the first one to knock it right into Garrison's groin. Serpentico disposes of the evidence, but the referee is still down, and Serpentico has to revive the referee for a near-fall. Shortly after this, Garrison removes the mask on Serpentico's face, but it is revealed that Serpentico has another mask underneath. The referee comes to after Serpentico hits Garrison with a splash and makes the three-count, giving Serpentico the victory and his mask back.

Backstage, Melissa Santos interviews Athena and Billie Starkz. Athena says she is not afraid of anyone, then tells Billie to get the car ready as she is not dealing with Abadon.

She says that she proved she was one of the best and that Diamanté took her to the limit, but when her back is against the wall, she finds a way to get back on top. Leyla says that there is more to her than meets the eye, and if anyone wants to step up, she will prove how legit she really is.

Atlantis Jr. retains the ROH World Television Championship against Robbie Eagles with a backbreaker rack.

Backstage, we hear from ROH Board of Directors member Paul Wight, who announces that Mark Briscoe will get his rematch with The Beast Mortos, this time with the ROH World Championship on the line. All of a sudden, Tony Nese and Ariya Daivari show up, and Nese says opportunities are being given to people who do not deserve it. He also says that Ariya Daivari took "The Wrestler" Katsuyori Shibata - who he says should be fined or suspended for his attack on "Smart' Mark Sterling - to his limit. Paul Wight reminds him that Daivari lost and that he himself lost his recent match with Tomohiro Ishii, then tells him that he has a match with Lio Rush, and if he wins, then they can talk about championship opportunities. Nese says he will be the giant in that match, then thanks Paul Wight for the lay-up.

Cage of Agony (Bishop Kaun, Toa Liona, "The Machine" Brian Cage) vs. "The Natural" Dustin Rhodes and The Von Erichs (Marshall and Ross Von Erich) for the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championships ends with Dustin and The Von Erichs being attacked by The Dark Order (Evil Uno, Alex Reynolds, John Silver) and Undisputed Kingdom (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett). Generation NXT - NXT recap for August 15, 2023

Tony D'Angelo and Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo retain the NXT Tag Team Championships against The Dyad (Rip Fowler and Jagger Reid) after Ava, Joe Gacy and the rest of Schism block Ivy Nile's path when she shows up, allowing two of the masked men to attack The Dyad and allow the tag champs to retain.

We hear from Eddy Thorpe, who says that NXT is moving forward and that he cannot be left behind, and that he will move forward without fear.

Backstage, Wes Lee meets with Carmelo Hayes as he signs autographs and makes it known to him that once he beats Dijak, the next thing Carmelo will sign is a contract for a championship match against him.

Backstage, Andre Chase tells Duke Hudson that he has gotten Thea Hail a match with Jacy Jayne to get some of her anger out and get back on the winning track. Thea Hail shows up and is not impressed with Andre thinking he knows what is best, and tells him not to throw in the towel this time.

Blair Davenport beats Dana Brooke. During the match, Dana tries to use the ring bell as a weapon, but Kelani Jordan does not let her do it.

Backstage, Dijak confronts Carmelo Hayes as he signs autographs, telling him to save a picture for himself. Carmelo says him to focus more on Wes Lee, but Dijak tells him it will only be a matter of time before he comes for his title.

Trick Williams beats Drew Gulak after Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen attack Charlie Dempsey and Damon Kemp.

Backstage, Sarah Schreiber interviews Baron Corbin, who implies that he is saving what he has to say for the ring.

We hear from Dabba-Kato, who says that he has fought his way out of the shadows, and that when he returns, he will cast his own shadow upon NXT.

Baron Corbin is in the ring. Corbin says the best thing about being him is that he can say what he wants in NXT without consequence, and that he ran Gable Steveson out of WWE and nobody has seen him since. He then says everyone in the locker room is a bunch of "soft-ass little bitches" and that he is ushering a new era for himself where he puts himself back in the main event where belongs. Von Wagner and Mr. Stone show up and disagree with Corbin, then Mr. Stone says he knows what Corbin wants and has the qualifications to do so, and that Von Wagner is standing in his way. Mr. Stone then tells Corbin that Von Wagner is just getting started, then Corbin wonders why he is talking to Mr. Stone when he should be talking to Von Wagner. Corbin tells Wagner that he has to "learn how to talk on the stick" if he wants to succeed. Corbin then brags about how he went to toe-to-toe with The Rock and made the big bucks afterwards, and suggests that Von Wagner follow him unless he wants to stand in the shadows. Wagner says he may not have talked enough, but that may be because Corbin talks too much, then says he and Mr. Stone are tired of Corbin's sob story and that he will put him through a table at Heatwave. Corbin punches at Wagner, but Wagner fights back. Wagner then goes for a powerbomb through the table, but Corbin rams him into the ring apron, and security and officials get between both men.

Backstage, Rhea Ripley and "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio talk about how Dominik is the greatest North American Champion ever. She then says Lyra Valkyrie should have been happy with her endorsement, but she had to kick her in the face, and hopes that Dragon Lee and Lyra can work as a team against them at Heatwave.

We hear from Mustafa Ali, who says that the North American Championship has been carried by individuals who do not represent North America the way it should be represented it. He says the people of North American deserve better and deserve someone who is champion in and out of the ring, and that he is the North American Champion the people need. Mustafa says he will elevate the title to new heights and inspire people to do incredible things the right way, and that the time for a new North American Champion is now.

Wes Lee beats Dijak to become #1 contender for the NXT Championship after Eddy Thorpe distracts Dijak on the outside.

Backstage, Dragon Lee meets with Lyra Valkryia. Dragon Lee says he would be a champion if it were not for Rhea Ripley, but Lyra says she will kick Rhea so hard that Dominik Mysterio will feel it. She then says they have to be on the same page if they want to win. Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Tyler Bate. After seeing some video from "NXT Anonymous" where Gallus (Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey, Wolfgang) confronts Tyler Bate at a live event, Tyler Bate says that he does not react to anger and make it his own when it comes to his match with Joe Coffey.

We hear from Ilja Dragunov, who tells Trick Williams that fantasy will not become reality for him, and while he expects him to bring his confidence and swagger, he is bringing his raging fire, for next week will be a fight.

Backstage, Wes Lee leaves Shawn Michaels' office with a contract for an NXT Championship match at Heatwave.

Tyler Bate vs. Joe Coffey ends with Dabba Kato showing up and attacking Tyler Bate.

Backstage, Baron Corbin is met outside of the arena by Bron Breakker, who says he is not finished with Von Wagner. Corbin says he looked pretty finished when Wagner put him through a table, and tells Bron that he does not intimidate him.

It's time for Nathan Frazer's Hard Hitting Home Truths. Nathan Frazer talks about the matches on Heatwave, one of which involves him defending the Heritage Cup against Noam Dar. Suddenly, The Meta-Four (Naom Dar, Oro Mensah, Lash Legend, Jakara Jackson) take over the show. Frazer, knowing that this would happen, shuts down Noam Dar's attempts of accusing Frazer of making up conspiracy theories about him, then produces a button that calls Noam Dar a fraud every time Noam Dar lies. Unsurprisingly, the button gets plenty of exercise before Noam Dar tells Nathan Frazer that he will take back the Heritage Cup.

Jacy Jayne beats Thea Hail after Jacy removes a turnbuckle cover only for Andre Chase to get on the apron and cover it up, which gets Thea Hail angry at him. The unintentional distraction allows Jacy Jayne to beat Thea Hail with a roll-up.

We see a video package of what is going on with Los Lotharios, in which their grandfather Humberto Garza advises them to tear away their past and start a new beginning with no more games or distraction, reminding them that if one loses, the other loses.

Wes Lee meets with Carmelo Hayes, this time with the contract for their NXT Championship match this week. Carmelo tells Wes he will see him next week, but Wes says he is not waiting and takes the autograph table with him to the ring.

We hear from Tiffany Stratton, who says that she will see everyone next week at Heatwave.

After the commercial break, Carmelo Hayes heads to the ring, and Wes lee tells him to hurry up and sign the contract. Carmelo tells Wes Lee that he is about to turn back into his old self and tells him to chill. When Wes Lee mentions Carmelo having a luxurious life as NXT Champion, Carmelo tells him that is not the case and that his reign came with responsibilities much like Wes' reign as North American Champion. Carmelo says Wes' shot is next week, but he does not know if Wes will be "Him." Wes tells Carmelo that he was one of the chosen one while he had doubters his whole life and career that he proved wrong, even having beaten Carmelo for the North American title. Carmelo says Wes won the title, but he did not beat him, and that without him, nobody would give the North American title the time of day. Carmelo says he agrees with just about everything Wes is saying, but next week, Wes cannot beat him. Wes says he has turned doubters into believers and that his biggest doubter is himself, for doubt always resonates with him, but he will not fail anymore. Wes signs, then demands Carmelo does the same. Carmelo tells Wes he earned this shot, but tells him not to chase waterfalls and stick to the rivers and the lakes he is used to before signing the contract, saying that next week is not "Melo Don't Miss," but "Melo Can't Miss." Wes Lee stomps the table in half and tells Carmelo he will see him at Heatwave.

Rhea Ripley says that they run Monday Night Raw and that this has been a harsh reality to Rey and Dominik Mysterio week in and week out, and proved to Domink that she "really [is] his papi" as she destroyed his soul. Finn Balor then says that Rey and Dominik will not be here tonight after Dominik had his soul crushed while he destroyed Rey in the middle of the ring to solidify his status in the business. Damian Priest asks the fans if they want to see Edge confront them right now, then says that is too bad because Edge is not here and promoting his match against him next week in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Priest says he does not sweat Edge and that he does not need help to beat him, and that this is where he will put the final nail in the coffin of his career. He says it will be one-on-one, man to man, and Toronto will be known as the place where he sent him back into retirement. He then says that after retirement, his wife will be feeding Edge through a tube for the rest of his life. Suddenly, Damian Priest is attacked from behind by Rey, who soon fights Finn Balor and clears out the ring until Rhea Ripley gets in the ring. Rhea distracts Rey, but when Finn gets back in the ring with a chair, Rey sees it coming and starts hitting him and Priest with the chair. Rhea then gets between Rhea and Fin, then takes the chair from Rey so that Priest can boot him. Rhea then hits Rey with a DDT on the chair before Priest continues to pound on him, then Priest and Rhea place the chair on Rey so that Finn Balor can stomp Rey through the chair.

Bianca Belair stands in Asuka and Alexa Bliss' corner for the next match.

Asuka and Alexa Bliss beat Doudrop and Nikki A.S.H. to advance in the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship Tournament. After the match, Bianca Belair, Asuka and Alexa run into Bayley, Iyo Sky and Dakota Sky on the stage. Officials have to step in before things get worse.

Backstage, Kevin Patrick interviews Austin Theory. Theory says he is still Mr. Money In The Bank and the undisputed, hand-picked future of the business, and while he may have made a slight miscalculation at SummerSlam, he is stronger and more dangerous. Dolph Ziggler tells Theory he has been crushed out there, and that the difference between them is that he earned the contract and made it matter when he cashed in. Theory says that while he was a past champion and a past Money In The Bank winner, he says that Ziggler will not be around when he cashed in before calling him a has-been, and says that when he cashes in, he will keep winning. He also says that he will not screw up the rest of his career like Ziggler did, which causes Ziggler to hit him and starts a brawl.

We see backstage from the commercial break of officials breaking up the brawl between Austin Theory and Dolph Ziggler.

Backstage, Sarah Schreiber interviews The Miz and Tommaso Ciampa. Ciampa says he came close, and says he came to Raw to become a champion. He says he will do that when he gets another opportunity, and Miz says Ciampa is not champion because "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles interfered. He says that Styles was gifted a United States Championship match this week and tha he smells collusion, then gifts Ciampa with a matching necklace with a trading card of the two of them.

The Miz and Tommaso Ciampa beat Mustafa Ali and Cedric Alexander.

Drew McIntyre heads to the ring. Drew says that at Clash at the Castle, he will drop Roman Reigns on his own island, win championship gold and become a fighting champion because that is what both the fans and the undisputed championship both deserve. He also admits that he is suffering from a bit of a back injury mostly because he has been carrying the load of twenty men both in and out of the ring with a smile on his face for the last three years because this is his dream. He also says he is here on his day off to scout some potential opponents for his championship matches such as Ciampa, AJ Styles, Seth Rollins, and Karrion Kross. Suddenly, Kevin Owens shows up. McIntyre says he likes the idea of facing Owens too, and Owens says he never figured out why McIntyre has the need to pretend to be something he is not with a tough guy voice, a kilt and a sword, and says McIntyre is delusional. Owens says he has been the same person for his entire 22-year career and that he is as real as it gets in the business, yet others seem to have been forgotten. He then remembers that he and Sami Zayn gave people a match in tonight's arena that people still talk about six years later, then realizes it is time to bring back the Kevin Owens people called "the prizefighter." Owens says he has not held a championship in five long years and that enough is enough and it is time for a change, and that he will go after whoever leaves as undisputed WWE Champion. McIntyre says he is sick and tired of people making stuff up just to make a cheap reaction, then says he knows who he is after being known "The Chosen One" and having to fight for fifteen years to get to where he is. He then says it is time to stop talking and start wrestling, and Owens says that while McIntyre is no prize, they might as well fight.

Drew McIntyre beats Kevin Owens by disqualification after The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) attack McIntyre. McIntyre fends off The Usos after the match, but Owens hits McIntyre with a Stunner. Owens then tells The Usos to tell Roman Reigns that he owes him one, then leaves before McIntyre fights back against The Usos.

Seth "Freakin'" Rollins heads to the ring. Rollins says he is here for a front row seat when Matt Riddle does the smart thing and tells the entire world that he is retiring. He says that Riddle might go back to middle school or start a farm, but Riddle shows up on the TitanTron and announces that he is medically cleared and that "it's on" the next time he sees Rollins. Rollins says that when they are the same place at the same time, the outcome is always him stomping Riddle's head into the mat, because he is always steps ahead of him. He then wishes then Riddle was in the ring so he could stomp the last few brain cells out of him, then Riddle reveals he is here and heads to the ring to brawl with Rollins. Rollins soon gets the upper hand, but Riddle counters The Stomp on the announce desk with a knee and chases Rollins through the crowd.

Underground Sound - Lucha Underground recap for August 15, 2018

Antonio Cueto is in his office when he receives a invitation to Johnny Mundo's wedding. He sets it to the side, and says the marriage will never last. Suddenly, Kobra Moon shows up, and demands a rematch for the Lucha Underground Trios Championships for The Reptile Tribe (Kobra Moon, Daga, Jeremiah Snake) that they never got at Ultima Lucha, and says the titles are rightfully there. Antonio Cueto mentions The Reptile Tribe's big loss last week as well as the one at Ultima Lucha Tres. Kobra Moon says she has made her ranks stronger and deadlier than ever, but Antonio Cueto jokes that Drago is "Dra-gone." Kobra Moon says they do not need Drago to prosper and that she will prove that, then demands the rematch for the Trios title. Antonio says that a woman's scorn is a side he loves to see, and tells her that she has her rematch for tonight's main event in a Tornado rules match. Kobra Moon then slithers out of the office like a snake when Antonio Cueto tells her to leave.

Before the next match, Antonio Cueto notices The Rabbit Tribe (Paul London and Saltador) is back again. Paul London says that last week, Mala Suerte proved that he did not, in fact, do it like a rabbit, and that a true rabbit would never take a beating like he did. He then asks for a chance at retribution, and says that Saltador will show Antonio what a true rabbit will do. Antonio Cueto tells Saltador he is not jumping anywhere, as he has been chosen to be the next sacrifice to the gods. "The Monster" Matanaza Cueto shows up, and Paul London keeps Saltador from leaving the ring.

"The Monster" Matanza Cueto beats Saltador, then Saltador is sacrificed to the gods. After the match, Paul London is seen showing happiness at Saltador's sacrifice. (Throughout the match, a priest is seen in the audience a few times in close-up shots, he is referred to near the end of the show as "Father Rick O'Shea of Our Lady of Boyle Heights," a reference to Prince Puma, aka Ricochet, who is now in NXT. He is also mentioned earlier in the show as being in the temple to officiate the wedding between Johnny Mundo and Taya.)

In the locker room, The Mack and Son of Havoc are waiting for Killshot, whom Son of Havoc considers unlikable. Killshot shows up and says he likes Son of Havoc just fine, but he does not respect him because he was handed one-third of the Trios titles on a silver platter and he certainly does not respect Son of Havoc trying to turn The Mack against him. The Mack says that is not true, but Killshot tells The Mack that he made it clear where he stood by pinning him instead of Son of Havoc and carrying Son of Havoc to the Gift of the Gods match, then mentions that neither man won the title. Tonight, he will not fail. The Mack then mentions their Trios title defense, but Killshot takes that as The Mack only caring about the gold and not him, and says that he hopes they retain the titles in the main event. He leaves, but not before turning around and telling Son of Havoc that he was right when he said he didn't like him.

Next week, Pentagon Dark will defend the Lucha Underground Championship against Cage in a Last Man or Machine Standing Match.

El Dragon Azteca Jr. retains the Lucha Underground Gift of the Gods Championship against Killshot.

Outside of the temple, Drago is sitting on top of the temple when Aerostar shows up and mentions that Dragon has hidden himself ever since he was freed from The Reptile Tribe (Kobra Moon, Daga, Jeremiah Snake). Drago says he does not deserve this second chance, as he did things as part of the tribe that can never be forgiven. Aerostar tells Drago that was Kobra Moon pulling string that have since been severed. Drago says he does not remember much, but he fells that he is no longer deserving of his friendship. Drago then gets up to leave, and asks for Aerostar's forgiveness, and when Aerostar says "Until we meet again," Drago says he is not so sure before leaving in a pillar of fire. Aerostar then tells himself that he is sure they will meet again.

Killshot does not show up with The Mack and Killshot before the next match; he does not show up until a little later in the match..

The Reptile Tribe (Kobra Moon, Daga, Jeremiah Snake) beat The Mack, Killshot and Son of Havoc to become the new Lucha Underground Trios Championships after Killshot pushes Son of Havoc off the top rope following a double foot stomp from the top rope by Son of Havoc to break a submission hold by Jeremiah Snake that breaks a submission hold by Jeremiah Snake. After the match, Killshot sits in front of a downed Son of Havoc, asking him why he cannot get up, and blaming him for the loss of the Trios titles. As Son of Havoc holds his right shoulder, Killshot goes up top and hits him with a double foot stomp for wanting to get up off the mat, and when The Mack confronts Killshot, Killshot responds with "Oh, now you give a shit?" He leaves the ring while The Mack tends to Son of Havoc.

Cage shows up. He says that next week, Pentagon Dark will figure out why he is a machine and not a man. Suddenly, Pentagon Dark sprints to the ring and brawls with Cage. In the brouhaha, a fan gets superkicked as the brawl goes into the crowd, and when Pentagon Dark takes a guitar from one of the members of Metalachi in the balcony, the guitarist gets his instrument smashed into his head courtesy of Pentagon Dark. A member of security on the balcony gets in the way, but he gets slammed on the balcony floor by Cage. As the brawl makes its way back into the ring, Cage bumps into Father Rick O'Shea, and O'Shea is almost beaten up by Cage when Pentagon Dark hits Cage with a steel chair. When Father O'Shea praises Pentagon Dark for saving him, Cage thanks him by breaking his arm. The show ends with Pentagon Dark and Cage still brawling.

The Mack walks into Antonio Cueto's office, wanting a match with Killshot. Antonio Cueto says he he wants to see that match, but he has already booked him in a match for next week that has been asked for specifically by Catrinia. He tells The Mack that he will face Mil Muertes next week in the first ever Haunted House Match as he puts on a witch's ass. The Mack takes the hat off Antonio Cueto's head and wears it himself as he says that if this is what it takes to get Mil Muertes off his back, then all he has to say is "Trick or treat, motherfucker." (The show ends before the epithet can be fully enunciated.)

In footage from earlier today, The Undisputed Era (Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, Kyle O'Reilly, Roderick Strong) talk about their tag team title defense against Moustache Mountain (Tyler Bate and Trent Seven) at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn IV and how they have beaten them in the past. Kyle O'Reilly doubts that Trent Seven is at 100%, and The Undisputed Era disregard both Moustache Mountain and War Machine (Hanson and Rowe) as less than clever while saying that they will retain the tag team titles. Adam Cole says that at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III, they debuted, and a year later, they have taken on all comers and have taken over NXT.

Velveteen Dream shows up. The Dream says the fans cheering for him is funny, and so is Ethan Carter III, who is so smart, so clever, and oh-so-charming. He also says that just like the fans, EC3 had his curiosity, but now he has something he couldn't buy if he tried and something The Dream didn't think anyone would want: his attention. He tells EC3 he has made an enemy out of him, and this Saturday at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn IV, it will be "Dream Over." Suddenly, EC3 shows up. EC3 asks if this is what is sounds like when doves cry (in an obvious Prince reference), then compliments The Dream's fanny pack and tells him not to get into his head, as he lives in people's heads. He says The Dream's head is a fixer-upper, and that he will make a profit out of it at TakeOver and claim victory after victory. The Dream says there is no "victory after victory," but the crowd chants "Yes!" The Dream says EC3 that he will not have his hand raised in victory and that he will not be laughing, and that the only thing on his mind will be "Dream Over." EC3 takes off his suit jacket and unbuttons his shirt as he says they do not have to wait until TakeOver and that they can do it right now. The Dream takes off his jacket, then throws it at EC3 and sucker punches him. EC3 fights back in this brawl, and hits The Dream with the One Percenter.

We see footage from earlier this week of Cathy Kelley reporting on the post-show attack of Aleister Black from last week's show, and breaks down the footage. Lars Sullivan is noticed in the background, and even more NXT Superstars are also seen in the footage.
