Generation NXT - NXT recap for August 15, 2018

In memory of Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart, 1955 - 2018.

In footage from after last week's episode, General Manager William Regal is alerted to the fact that Aleister Black has suddenly been attacked outside of Full Sail University. It is then announced that Tommaso Ciampa will be defending the NXT Championship against Johnny Gargano in a Last Man Standing Match at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn IV.

Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) beat The Mighty (Nick Miller and Shane Thorne) after Montez Ford reverses an O'Connor Roll with the tights with an O'Connor Roll where Ford also grabs the tights of Miller.

Backstage, "The Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler is seen giving Aliyah some pointers for her match with Kairi Sane, which happens next.

In footage from earlier today, The Undisputed Era (Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, Kyle O'Reilly, Roderick Strong) talk about their tag team title defense against Moustache Mountain (Tyler Bate and Trent Seven) at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn IV and how they have beaten them in the past. Kyle O'Reilly doubts that Trent Seven is at 100%, and The Undisputed Era disregard both Moustache Mountain and War Machine (Hanson and Rowe) as less than clever while saying that they will retain the tag team titles. Adam Cole says that at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III, they debuted, and a year later, they have taken on all comers and have taken over NXT.

"The Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler guests on commentary for the next match.

Kairi Sane beats Aliyah with three In-Sane Elbows followed by The Anchor, during which she points at "The Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler, who is at the commentary table, to send a message before their match at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn IV.

We see a video package which chronicles the events leading up to Ricochet vs. Adam Cole for the NXT North American Championship at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn IV.

Velveteen Dream shows up. The Dream says the fans cheering for him is funny, and so is Ethan Carter III, who is so smart, so clever, and oh-so-charming. He also says that just like the fans, EC3 had his curiosity, but now he has something he couldn't buy if he tried and something The Dream didn't think anyone would want: his attention. He tells EC3 he has made an enemy out of him, and this Saturday at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn IV, it will be "Dream Over." Suddenly, EC3 shows up. EC3 asks if this is what is sounds like when doves cry (in an obvious Prince reference), then compliments The Dream's fanny pack and tells him not to get into his head, as he lives in people's heads. He says The Dream's head is a fixer-upper, and that he will make a profit out of it at TakeOver and claim victory after victory. The Dream says there is no "victory after victory," but the crowd chants "Yes!" The Dream says EC3 that he will not have his hand raised in victory and that he will not be laughing, and that the only thing on his mind will be "Dream Over." EC3 takes off his suit jacket and unbuttons his shirt as he says they do not have to wait until TakeOver and that they can do it right now. The Dream takes off his jacket, then throws it at EC3 and sucker punches him. EC3 fights back in this brawl, and hits The Dream with the One Percenter.

We see footage from earlier this week of Cathy Kelley reporting on the post-show attack of Aleister Black from last week's show, and breaks down the footage. Lars Sullivan is noticed in the background, and even more NXT Superstars are also seen in the footage.

We see a video package chronicling the events leading up to Johnny Gargano vs. Tommaso Ciampa in a Last Man Standing Match for the NXT Championship at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn IV.

We see footage of Bianca Belair training for her in-ring return in the WWE Performance Center.
