205:Alive - 205 Live recap for August 14, 2018

Before the next match, Lio Rush shows up and says the fans are lucky, as while they still live in a garbage city and an embarrassment of a state, they get to see him come and collect. He says that Akira Tozawa is one of the best, but only one of the best, and says that he should have kept his name out of his mouth. Now, he is going to feel the rush in their rematch tonight.

Lio Rush beats Akira Tozawa.

We see a video package of Drew Gulak and his preparations for his WWE Cruiserweight Championship match against Cedric Alexander at SummerSlam.

Kayla Braxton interviews General Manager Drake Maverick, who announces that Mustafa Ali has been suffering from exhaustion and is expected to make a full recovery. He feels he is to blame, however. While Mustafa Ali is the heart of 205 Live, Drake Maverick announces that Mustafa Ali will not compete in a 205 Live ring until he is confident that Mustafa Ali is 100% again.

Hideo Itami beats Trent Newman by referee stoppage following two basement drop kicks in the corner. After the match, Hideo Itami gets one last shot on Trent Newman.

Next week: Noam Dar vs. TJP!

We see a video package of Cedric Alexander's preparations for his WWE Cruiserweight Championship defense against Drew Gulak at SummerSlam.

Backstage, General Manager Drake Maverick is met by "The Premier Athlete" Tony Nese and Buddy Murphy. He is not happy about Murphy helping Nese get the win last week, and next week, Murphy and Nese will face The Lucha House Party (Kalisto, Lince Dorado, Gran Metalik) in a tornado tag match. Murphy simply says "You're the boss," then he and Nese leave.

Cedric Alexander beats "Gentleman" Jack Gallagher. After the match, Cedric Alexander is attacked from behind by The Brian Kendrick, and Alexander has to fend off Gallagher and Kendrick in the ring. Kendrick goes for a Captain's Hook but falls victim to a Lumbar Check. Suddenly, Drew Gulak gets Cedric Alexander from behind and locks in the Gu-Lock. He then lays the WWE Cruiserweight Championship on a downed Alexander.
