Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for August 2, 2018

Allie and Kiera Hogan beat Su Yung and The Undead Bridesmaid. At the beginning of the match, Allie and Kiera Hogan have to fight through Su Yung's undead bridesmaids before getting to Su Yung and her tag team partner. After the match, Tessa Blanchard gets in the ring and blindsides Allie before hitting her with a Hammerlock DDT.

We see footage from during the break where Tessa Blanchard states that she can see right through Allie, who can't even save herself even though she wants to help and save everyone else, and couldn't save herself from her at Slammiversary. She says Allie cares about one thing: the Knockouts Championship, and she is trying to weasel her way into another opportunity by "doing the right thing." Blanchard says the difference between her and Allie is that she knows who she is and what she wants, and unlike Allie, she does not hide from that truth. She says Allie only want to help herself, and if she thinks she is getting another title shot before her, she is sadly mistaken.

Next week: Eddie Edwards vs. Austin Aries for the Impact World Championship!

The OG'z (Homicide and Hernandez) quickly beat Nathan Smokes and Ray Steele. After the match, King hits one of The OG'z beaten opponents with a sling before saying that The OG'z took The Latin-American Xchange (Santana and Ortiz) out before taking the tag titles and making them their own. He asks where the "two young boy bitches and the old man" are, and mocks the crowd for chanting for LAX before saying that The OG'z are the streets and that LAX is dead, whether the people like it or not. Suddenly, Santana and Ortiz storm out and brawl with Homicide and Hernandez while Konnan directs traffic, and The OG'z are tosses out of the ring before Santana takes them out with a tope con hilo. Suddenly, Ortiz pulls out a small hand ax, and two members of security have to take the ax away from him. The two members of security are quickly made work of, and Ortiz has the ax in his hand again. Konnan has to hold TLAX back while King holds back The OG'z, and Homicide almost uses the ring bell as a weapon.

Backstage, Konnan tries to calm Santana and Ortiz down, telling them not to come out with anger as they walked into a potential trap. He tells them that he know what The OG'z (King, Homicide, Hernandez) are going to do before they do it, and while they are acting out of anger, jealousy and greed, they are still scared. All The Latin-American Xchange (Konnan, Santana, Ortiz) did was hit and run, and that timing is everything. When the time is right, The OG'z will be kissing the ring and will become nothing more than a distant memory like everyone else who has tried to take them out.

It is announced that LAX (Santana and Ortiz) and The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) will do battle at Chris Jericho's Rock 'n Wrestling Rager at Sea in October!

The GWN Flashback Moment of the Week is Jushin "Thunder" Liger vs. Petey Williams from Sacrifice 2006.

We hear from oVe (Dave Crist, Jake Crist, Sami Callihan). Callihan says people are making fun of how he looks following Slammiversary, and says that oVe doesn't value anybody else's opinions but their own. Tonight, they are making it personal against Pentagon Jr. and Fenix, and the Crist brothers will put an end to "The Lucha Brothers."

Impact Wrestling comes back to the Rebel Entertainment Complex in Toronto, Ontario, Canada for TV tapings on August 12 and 13! Tickets are on sale now at ShopImpact.com!

Gama Singh introduces The Desi Hit Squad (Rohit Raju and Gursinder Singh) to the ring before the next match.

The Desi Hit Squad (Rohit Raju and Gursinder Singh) beat KM and Fallah Bahh after KM's attempts to teach Fallah Bahh to perform some dirty maneuvers backfires.

Anthony Carelli is seen firing up Dustin Cameron for Cameron's match with Austin Aries for the Impact World Championship, and tells him that opportunities like this one do not happen often. He tells Cameron that Aries will do whatever it takes to stay champion, and that he must put up a superhuman effort and do whatever it takes to seize the opportunity and win. After Cameron leaves, Carelli crosses himself and prays to the Lord to not let Cameron die in the ring.

We hear from Austin Aries, who says that he won the Impact World Championship against a top-caliber athlete in Eli Drake when he came back to the company, and that he is more than ready for Dustin Cameron.

Backstage, Alicia interviews Johnny Impact, who says that for a big guy, Kongo Kong is hard to find these days. He says that he does what he does to see who is best in the ring, but Kongo Kong does not. He says that Kongo Kong tried to send a message by injuring him, but it has not stopped him. Johnny decrees that he will not stop looking for Kongo Kong when Jimmy Jacobs suddenly shows up. He tells Johnny that if he is looking for Kongo Kong, he could see more clearly by taking off his sunglasses. As Jimmy says that he is trying to be a good guy, Johnny punches him in the mouth and demands Kongo Kong, and tells him that he will not ask again before he puts his sunglasses back on and leaves.

Austin Aries retains the Impact World Heavyweight Champion against Dustin Cameron after Anthony Carelli throws in the towel before Aries can hit Cameron with a second brainbuster. After the match, Aries puts Cameron in the Last Chancery, to which Cameron taps out to, before confronting Carelli in the ring. Aries takes off his shirt and dares Carelli to get the first shot on him. Carelli kicks Aries in the groin, and Aries slowly ambles backwards up the ramp to the back. As Aries is enraged at Carelli, Eddie Edwards shows up with a Kendo stick, and when Aries looks behind himself, Eddie hits him in the gut with the Kendo stick. Aries escapes before Eddie can hit him with a DDT.

Backstage, Alicia interviews Alisha Edwards, who is soon going to step into the Impact ring. Alisha Edwards says she is ready to put her personal life aside and focus on the Knockouts Division when her husband Eddie Edwards shows up. Eddie apologizes for interrupting and says he has been doing a lot of soul searching, and that he is ready to make a big change. He says things are going to be different between them, and when Alisha Edwards asks Eddie if he is getting help, he says no and that next week, he is going to be Impact World Champion again. Alisha Edwards says she cannot even deal with Eddie right now and leaves.

Bob Kapoor interviews "The Smoke Show" Scarlett Bordeaux on the entrance ramp. Scarlett Bordeaux comes out in a red dress with high slits and barely visible underwear and Bob can barely get a word in as he talks to her due to shyness. Scarlett asks if he is new around here, as she can remember a face like his being around. Bob cannot even say his name without stuttering when Scarlett asks for it, and Scarlett assumes Bob's name is "Bobo." Scarlett then assumes that what Bob wants to ask is what it is like to be a "ten" in a world of "threes and fours," and surrounded of girls who are jealous of her before she gets in the ring. She says that this is how God made her, and she will not be "hot-shamed." Bob is now wiping the sweat off of his face with his tie, then Scarlett notices how warm Bob is before asking him if he is okay, then tells him he can go now. Bob leaves, then Scarlett says men around her are not used to seeing a woman like her around, but that is about to change because "The Smoke Show" is here to make wrestling sexy again.

Backstage, Grado tells Joe Hendry and Katarina that he is angry and embarrassed after last week, then notices Eli Drake. He tells Eli that the gift he gave him last week sucked as he cropped him out of his favorite picture, and that he is angry. He says that in Scotland, they settling things in a wrestling match, and challenges him to a tag team match against him and Joe Hendry. He then says that Eli has no friends due to having heat with everyone in the locker room and that he and Joe win by default, then Eli Drake grabs Trevor Lee and Caleb Konley and says one of them will be his tag team partner before telling them that he hopes they brought their "pissin' pants" because he has a ticket for them on the gravy train and something special for Katarina.

Eli Drake and Trevor Lee beat Grado and Joe Hendry after an argument between The Cult of Lee (Trevor Lee and Caleb Konley) and Joe Hendry and Katarina distracts both Grado and the referee. After the match, Grado, Katarina and Joe Hendry make up after what has happened.

Backstage, The Desi Hit Squad (Rohit Raju and Gursinder Singh) brag about their victory tonight when Gama Singh smacks them both in the face twice.

We see a video package of "The Machine" Brian Cage's road to becoming the Impact X Division Champion.

"Reborn" Matt Sydal admits that "The Machine" Brian Cage is the undisputed X Division Champion, and asks himself who he is to question what the title has done to itself. He is proud of the time he has put into the championship, and says that what he has lost is a material thing. Material things mean nothing to him, and that being a champion is an un-permanent state that had to end, and it ended with an opponent he thought he could beat. Cage may have taken the title from him, but he has given him a lesson and has shown him that he does not know the way fully just yet, as there is more in store for him in this universe than even he expects. The X Division Championship is no longer his destination anymore "as the stars and their courses have no destination, the train of events will arrive at no station, and the most and ultimate self of us all is laughing on nothing and having a ball." He thanks Cage for the lesson and the X Division Championship for the love, and says that he needs to look deeper into himself, open his third eye even wider, and ask the deepest, truest questions as one must think for themselves and question everything.

Pentagon Jr. and Fenix beat oVe (Dave and Jake Crist) despite the latter team's attempt to unmask them as well as tie their masks together to beat them both up.

Backstage, Killer Kross says that the moment of realization is worth a thousand prayers, and asks what his next victim realized in his final moments. We then find out that he has attacked Anthony Carelli as he leaves his calling card.
