Generation NXT 2.0 - NXT 2.0 recap for June 21, 2022

In memory of Tim White, 1954 - 2022.

Before the next match, Grayson Waller says he is sick and tired of hearing about Solo Sikoa and that everyone should be talking about him, and that everyone loves Solo because they are "solo in their lives." He also says he is tired of censoring himself on the microphone and that it is time to say what he thinks about everyone around here. Before he can do that, Solo Sikoa levels him with a clothesline.

Grayson Waller beats Solo Sikoa after Solo Sikoa runs into a turnbuckle exposed by Grayson Waller earlier in the match.

Backstage, Mackenzie Mitchell interviews The D'Angelo Family. Tony D'Angelo says tonight is a good night if Legado del Fantasmo (Santos Escobar, Joaquin Wilde, Cruz del Toro, Elektra Lopez) beats Roderick Strong and Damon Kemp and he wins the North American title tonight. Tony says Legado del Fantasma knows what to do, and after shaking hands with Santos Escobar, says that if he is not North American Champion, there will be hell to pay. Santos Escobar tells Tony D'Angelo "I've got this."

We see a vignette for Jordan Devlin, now known as JD McDonagh, who says that the winds of change are coming with his arrival to NXT.

Katana Chance and Kayden Carter beat Valentina Feroz and Yulisa Leon.

Wes Lee heads to the ring. Wes thanks the fans and says it is a blessing to still be here and receive their blessing, especially after the last three months when he has gone from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows. He talks about how he went from being a two-time tag team champion only to have their world explore under his and Nash Carter's feet. (Nash Carter is not mentioned.) He says that while his world has crumbled under his feet and he is searching through the rubble for himself, he felt nothing but pain and anger and he was not himself, and that he had to prove that he could stand on his own two feet and do what he needs to do. Suddenly, Trick Williams shows up and tells Wes Lee that nobody wants to hear his story, then says Wes Lee left Nash Carter behind and that he is not the friend he pretends to be, and that Nash is gone because he left him behind. Wes tells Trick that he has no idea how he was there for Nash Carter and how they were together for so long, and says Trick cannot understand because he is second fiddle to Carmelo Hayes and asks if Trick has any hype for himself. Trick says he does things on his own time and that he will leave just like Wes' old friends did to him.

Backstage, we hear from Tiffany Stratton, who thinks Wendy Choo is "tragic" and that she "sucks at life" so badly she feels bad for the people around her, and says she handles herself better than Wendy does herself. She says that Wendy Choo does not even know a gym and that she cannot blame her for being jealous, then says she ruined her ring gear with confetti. She calls Wendy a "Peter Pan reject" and says she has no problem putting her to sleep for good.

Diamond Mine (Roderick Strong and Damon Kemp) beat Legado del Fantasma (Joaquin Wilde and Cruz del Toro) after Troy "Two Dimes" Donovan unwittingly trips Cruz del Toro with a crobar on the outside. After the match, we find out it is less than unwittingly after Two Dimes and Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo accuse Wilde and del Tro of "dropping the ball."

Backstage, Mackenzie Mitchell interviews Giovanni Vinci, who says he is the most supreme athlete in NXT and that he sent a message in style. He says everyone knows that a top tier talent has just walked in with style. Suddenly, Ikemen Jiro shows up and says that he sees Vinci, then asks Vinci if he is "style strong" before stating that they will find out.

We see a vignette for Apollo Crews, who says that one must confront fear even when it it is not easy, and says that the different between him then and him now is that he is fearless. As he walks, someone warns him not to go down an alley as three men try to rob someone. In a vision, Apollo fights off the robbers. Apollo walks off with the man being robbed, then we return to reality, where Apollo then goes into the alley before the vignette cuts to black.

Toxic Attraction (Mandy Rose, Jacy Jayne, Gigi Dolin) head to the ring. Mandy makes it clear that last week, Roxanne Perez, Cora Jade and Indi Hartwell may have had a fluke win, but they are still losers. Gigi says this is reality and that Roxanne will get a toxic reality check when she realizes she is not on their level. Jacy says that Cora Jade folds under pressure and has become "a real pro" at it, then tells Roxanne to take a bus back home and put posters of real superstars like them on her wall. Mandy says that if Roxanne sticks around, her dreams will become a really ugly nightmare. Roxanne and Cora show up, and Mandy says that a couple wins will not get her a challenge against her. She also tells Roxanne not to be delusional and not to cash in her contract, then Roxanne says that she is on top of the world, she has earned her way to her dreams, which are even better when one gets to share them. Roxanne says that she and Cora got to thinking last week and says that while winning the Women's Championship would be nice, winning the tag titles would be that much sweeter. Kayden Carter and Kacy Catanzaro show up, and Kayden says the line starts behind them because they are not done yet, but Cora says they are done after In Your House. Katana says Cora and Roxanne do not get to cut the line because they are "flavor of the month," but Cora says she has been here for a year and says that Kayden and Katana are done. This starts a brawl between the two teams on the ramp that Toxic Attraction enjoys as referees break it up.

Backstage, Mackenzie Mitchell interviews Carmelo Anthony and Trick Williams. Carmelo and Trick laugh about Trick "checking" Wes Lee, and Carmelo says that business will be taken care of and that he will remain North American Champion.

Backstage, Mackenzie Mitchell interviews Indi Hartwell when Kiana James interrupts and says she deals with facts and figures, not emotions, as they do not lie, and says that Indi jumps from friend to friend because she is weak and lacks mental focus. Indi says that nobody cares about Kiana James' opinion, and tells her to meet her in the ring next week so she can make her eat all of her words. Kiana James accepts and tells Indi to prepare for another failure, but Indi tells her that this is NXT and that "nobody likes a bitch."

Cameron Grimes beats Edris Enofe. Edris Enofe and Malik Blade shake hands with Cameron Grimes after the match.

In footage from earlier this week, Thea Hail shows up at Chase University and finds out that Bodhi Hayward is her roommate and that Chase University has co-ed dorms, much to the delight of Thea and the hesitation of Bodhi.

We hear from Nikkita Lyons, who says that patience is not a virtue and that is sucks, then says she has been working her way to recovery and that next week, she is coming back.

Von Wagner beats Brooks Jensen.

Backstage, Bron Breakker tells Cameron Grimes that he has a lot of heart and that he saw the Cameron Grimes he wants to face, but Cameron tells him that if he gets that version of him, he will be the next NXT Champion.

Joe Gacy talks to The Dyad and thanks them for throwing their past lives behind so that he could show them the light inside of them, then tells them that they are reborn, ready to take over the world and no longer see themselves the same way. He says that gold is flavorless, but says that they return to it, it will taste sweet now that they are under his guidance.

Alba Fyre beats Lash Legend by disqualification when Lash Legend hits her with her own baseball bat.

Carmelo Hayes retains the NXT North American Championship against Tony D'Angelo. During the match, Tony D'angelo tells Santos Escobar to give him some brass knuckles, but Escobar throws them to Carmelo Hayes instead, who ends up using them against Tony D'Angelo and hiding the evidence to retain the title.

Here are the top ten moments from tonight's show!
