After Dark - AEW Dark recap for June 21, 2022

"Platinum" Max Caster beats Trever Aeon.

Serpentico beats Vary Morales.

Backstage, Lexi Nair interviews Blake Christian. Blake says he has been setting the wrestling world on fire. He says he may be on fire, but his sight is clear, and while Sonjay Dutt and Satnam Singh, he hopes that Sanjay will take their history into account and leave his match with Jay Lethal one-on-one, but if not, he will show all three of them why he is all heart.

Kris Statlander beats Ava Everett.

The Dark Order (John Silver and Alex Reynolds) beat The Wingmen ("Pretty" Peter Avalon and Cezar Bononi) with a r. After the match JD Drake and "The Hollywood Hunk" Ryan Nemeth show up and attack Reynolds alongside Avalon and Bononi, but all four men retreat when Evil Uno and Preston "10" Vance run into the ring.

We hear from Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt and Satnam Singh. Jay Lethal says that they have been hearing nothing but rumors and that rumor is that Blake Chrisian is setting the wrestling world on fire, and that Blake Christian can only beat him in his dreams. Sonjay Singh talks about Satnam Singh's debut win before stating that he has a succession plan coming into commission that will make Satnam Singh the future of India. He then says that if Blake Christian is all heart, then the three of them will take his heart and stomp on it.

Brock Anderson and The Varsity Blonds (Griff Garrison and Brian Pillman Jr.) beat Larry Lazard, Terry Yaki and Jay Lucas.

Diamante beats Devlyn Macabre with a crossface.

"The Premier Athlete" Tony Nese beats JDX in a Pure Rules Match. After the match, Tony Schiavone intervews Nese and "Smart" Mark Sterling. Sterling mentions that this match was Nese's first Pure Rules match and that he is not only a natural, but also undefeated under his clientele while he himself is undefeated in singles competition. He then throws out a challenge for next week's Dark and challenges Wheeler Yuta to a Ring of Honor Pure Rules Championship match, asking him if he has the guts to put the title on the line against Nese the night before Blood and Guts.

Backstage, Lexi Nari interviews Serena Deeb and Mercedes Martinez. Serena admits they are a very unlikely pairing, but Mercedes Martinez is one of the best in the world, and while she respects her and the ROH World Women's Championship, she is a lone wolf. She says that while she is tagging with one of the best, Mercedes should keep her eyes and ears open, as she could learn a thing or two. Mercedes Martinez says she is the one on top right now, and despite her respect for her and willingness to tag with her, she warns Serena not to cross her.

Serena Deeb and Mercedes Martinez beat Yaide and Anna Diaz by double submission.

Backstage, Tony Schiavone interviews Wheeler Yuta. Yuta says "Smart" Mark Sterling and "The Premier Athlete" Tony Nese think he is scared, but he is untouchable under Pure Rules. Wheeler Yuta says he will take their challenge and beat them before focusing his energy on The Jericho Appreciation Society at Blood and Guts.

Jay Lethal beats Blake Christian.
