Raw Deal - Raw recap for June 6, 2022

"The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes heads to the ring. Cody says he has seen comments on social media praising him for his performance last night, then says it is a privilege to do what he does and admits that while tearing his pectoral muscle may be demoralizing, he does not want to be downtrodden. He then talks about his daughter and says that when she is old enough, he wants her to watch what happened last week and know that in the darkest of times and what could have been the lowest of lows, he stood and fought against one of the best. Cody says that the trilogy has been written and the book has been closed, and that he is done with Seth Rollins. He then talks about the two Money In The Bank briefcases above him. He says the briefcase has eluded him through his career, but in four weeks' time, if he was able to climb the ladder and grab the briefcase, he would cash it in and become WWE Universal Champion. Seth Rollins shows up in a less than jovial mood and tells Cody that he still does not like him, but after what he put himself through last night, he has earned his respect. Rollins says that Cody is one of the best that he has been in the ring with and tells Cody that his father would be proud, and that he is returning the favor after Cody showed him respect after WrestleMania. After he and Cody shake hands, Rollins whispers something into Cody's ear, then leaves. As Cody leaves, he is struck from behind by Rollins, who attacks him with a sledgehammer. Rollins then rips at Cody's clothes before referees try to stop him, then Rollins stomps on the injured pectoral muscle and presses the sledgehammer against it.

After the commercial break, Cody gets back up under his own power, and limps to the back.

During Becky Lynch vs. Dana Brooke, Akira Tozawa shows up and runs into the ring after several Superstars chase him out from backstage. Dana then pins Akira Tozawa to win the WWE 24/7 Championship. Afterwards, Becky says nobody wins titles in her matches except her, then tells Dana to put the title on the line before warning anyone else outside of the ring that if they interfere, she will smash their face in.

Dana Brooke retains the WWE 24/7 Championship against Becky Lynch. When the match is restarted, Asuka shows up to cheer on Dana Brooke. When Dana Brooke goes for a jackknife pin, Asuka then holds one of Becky's feet down to stop Becky from kicking out.

John Cena returns for his 20th anniversary on Raw on June 27th!

The Miz and Maryse head to the ring in formal dress for tonight's Miz TV, with special guest Matt Riddle. After Miz introduces Maryse and plus the double episode season premiere, Maryse says that while she is happy to talk about the show, she is not happy to be in an unknown town. When Miz tells the crowd to shut up, Riddle shows up. Riddle speaks to Maryse in French, then Maryse replies in French back. Riddle then tells Randy Orton to get well soon and come back, unlike his step-dad. Miz tells Riddle that Orton's career is over and that The Bloodline will beat him week after week. Riddle tells Miz to shut the hell up and that he wants to fight Roman Reigns, and that if Roman wants to take Roman away, then he will take away the WWE Universal Championship. Riddle then says John Cena plays peacemaker while Miz plays homemaker while Maryse drags him around by his "tiny balls." Maryse tells Riddle that her husband's balls are the biggest in the world, and Riddle says "Prove it!" Maryse says that if Riddle wants to fight Miz, they can fight right now. Riddle like the idea, but Miz does not, as he is still in a tuxedo, and after teasing fighting Riddle, says the answer is no. Suddenly, Riddle is attacked from behind by Tommaso Ciampa. After seeing this, Miz then decides to have the match.

Matt Riddle beats The Miz with the RKO despite Maryse handing her purse to Miz and distracting the referee.

The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) beat The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) by count-out in a WWE Undisputed Championship Contender's Match after Montez Ford beats Jimmy Uso back to the ring by a slim margin. After the match, The Street Profits celebrate with Matt Riddle.

Bobby Lashley heads to the ring. Lashley says it did not have to end like this between him and MVP, as he considered MVP his family. He says MVP had every advantage in the book, but it still wasn't enough to take him down. He says that you never interrupt your enemy when they are making a mistake, and MVP made a mistake stabbing him in the back. He also says it felt "damn good" to have MVP in the Hurt Lock. Before he can say what is next after putting MVP and Omos in his rear view mirror, Austin Theory shows up says he does not know what authority allowed Lashley to steal his spotlight and that is his time, not Lashley's. He only says Lashley is out here because somebody helped him win his match while he won his match all by himself, then tells Theory to get out of his ring. Lashley says the ring is his, then proposes they settle things like men. Austin accepts, then shows off his biceps only to find out Lashley's is bigger. Lashley then dares Theory to put the United States Championship on the line, but Theory says he does not deserve it as he has not beaten him. Theory then goes for a selfie only for Lashley to boot him out of the ring and tell him "Take a walk, kid."

Veer Mahaan beats Dominik Mysterio by disqualification after Rey Mysterio drop kicks him before he can lock in the cervical clutch.

The Judgment Day (Edge, Damian Priest, Rhea Ripley) head to the ring.Rhea Ripley says control is an illusion that led "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles, Finn Balor and Liv Morgan to believe they would succeed last night when The Judgment Day were always destined for victory. She says they cannot be controlled and that their message is spreading like wildfire, and that their destiny has no limitation. Damian Priest says that Rhea Ripley will be one step closer to omnipotence when she wins her match tonight and faces Bianca Belair at Money In The Bank. Edge says The Judgment Day did what they said they would do and that he is proud of Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley for how they have grown in the short time they have been part of his learning tree. Edge says that this is because they listened, then says that someone else was hearing their message and is about to introduce The Judgment Day's newest member when Finn Balor shows up. Finn Balor and Edge shake hands, and Edge says he saw the look in his eyes change during their match and that he was ecstatic when Rhea and Damian told him he reached out. Finn says that look was one of clarity and of a calling, not a choice, and that he extends the ability of that clarity to Rhea and Damian, whom he says are fighting better and that have a lot in common. After Finn Balor says that he is tired of being told what to do, Damian Priest says The Judgment Day is ready to shed the last bit of limitation holding them back: Edge. Rhea, Damian and Finn gang up on Edge, and Finn Balor hits Edge with the Coup de Grace. Edge gets up and fights back, but he gets powerbombed through the announce table. Edge tries to fight back again, but Finn and Damian send him back into the ring while Rhea Ripley brings chairs. Ripley stomps out the bottom of a chair, and Finn Balor gives Edge the Glasgow Smile. As Finn and Damian ready the Con-Chair-To, Rhea Ripley holds referees and officials back so that Damian can hit Edge with the Con-Chair-To.

Omos beats Cedric Alexander in seconds. Kevin Patrick interviews Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode. During the interview, MVP and Omos take offense to being interrupted and having their spotlight taken, and MVP gets superkicked by Ziggler. MVP and Omos chases Ziggler and Roode to the back.

It is announced that this year's Hell In A Cell was the most watched in the event's history.

Ezekiel beats Otis with a jumping knee followed by a crucifix bomb. After the match, Ezekiel says he may have come up short last night, but everyone deserve a second chance. He tells Kevin Owens that he wants a rematch next week. Owens shows up and says he is in such a good mood from beating Ezekiel that he will give him his rematch, but only on the condition that he admits that he is Elias. Ezekiel says "Okay, Kev, you got me, I admit it," but Owens wants Ezekiel to look him in the eyes and tell him. Ezekiel tells him his name is Elias, then gets his rematch only to tell Owens he took a page from the Kevin Owens playbook and lied. Owens charges at Ezekiel only to get hit with a jumping knee, then Ezekiel runs away.

Members of the Green Bay Packers football team are seen in the crowd.

Rhea Ripley beats Doudrop, Alexa Bliss and Liv Morgan to earn a shot at the WWE Raw Women's Championship. After the match, Finn Balor and Damian Priest stand alongside Rhea Ripley.
