Generation NXT - NXT recap for October 14, 2025

Ricky Saints heads to the ring to start tonight's show. Saints says that last week, he showed that when you stack the odds against him, he will fight like hell for both himself and the fans, and that when things get tough, Trick Williams will fold under pressure, which is the difference between himself and Trick. He states that when he won the NXT Championship, everything became clear in that moment, but for Trick Williams, it has not been very clear for him, especially when he has abandoned NXT and acts like he is above it. Nevertheless, he wants to give Trick a chance to prove him wrong about all that, and calls his shot by challenging Trick for the title at Halloween Havoc. Trick Williams shows up on the TitanTron and says it is not his fault Saints could not get the job done last week, then says that they are on different levels, stating that Saints grinded his whole life while he has never had to wait in line. He says that Saints is so mad that he is putting the NXT Championship on the line, then says they will do this on his time and that he will see him soon. Saints expected Trick to do this, then says he will burst Trick's "fantasy land" bubble.

Backstage, Je'Von Evans and Leon Slater are disappointed about the ending to their Bound for Glory match. Slater says he had Je'Von a few times, but Je'Von says he could have been champion. The Hardys (Jeff and Matt Hardy) show up and calls what DarkState (Dion Lennox, Cutler James, Saquon Shugars, Osiris Griffin) did a shot at them and considers Je'Von and Slater a threat to DarkState, especially when they are the future of pro wrestling. The Hardys tell them that they will lay in some receipts for DarkState in their tag team title rematch, and Je'Von tells The Hardys that he and Slater have their backs.

We see footage from "NXT Anonymous" where Kelani Jordan talks with Jordynne Grace. Kelani accuses Jordynne of bad officiating at Showdown and says that Jordynne was a big fish in a small fish when she was Total Nonstop Action Knockouts World Champion and is now swimming with sharks, and that she plans to hold the TNA Knockouts title for a long time. Jordynne reminds Kelani that she helped make it possible for her to even hold the title.

Josh Briggs beats Matt Cardona. (The match is Matt Cardona's first in WWE in over a decade since his release and his first under his real name.) During the match, Josh Briggs tries to hit Matt Cardona with a chain, but the referee stops him from doing it and Cardona is able to hit Radio Silence. Briggs powerbombs Cardona out of the air, then blocks Cardona's offense afterwards and hits the big boot for the win.

Tatum finds Lyra, but Lya runs into The Culling (Shewn Spears, Niko Vance, Izzi Dame, Tatum). Izzi says Hank and Tank had their chance and failed while Chase University have no talent, and states that Shawn Spears and Niko are the only team worthy of winning the NXT tag titles. Hank and Tank take this as a challenge to a Triple Threat Match, to which Andre Chase agrees, and both parties head to General Manager Ava to get eh match made. Meanwhile, Izzi Dame looks foward to winning the women's battle royal tonight.

We hear from Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne and Fallon Henley). Jacy says that when she and Fallon created Fatal Influence, they wanted to be the leaders of the women's division, and Fallon says that they have run the division since then. Jacy says they have had their problems, but they have worked them out, and Fallon says Jazmyn Nyx was a problem until she was taken out by someone who, as Jacy put it, was willing to prove themselves in a way that Jazmyn Nyx did in Lainey Reid, who is now the new third member of the group. She says she has seen Jacy and Fallon rise to the top, and she has realized that to be like them, she has to follow in their footsteps. Fallon tells her that she also took it one step further before Jacy welcomes her to the group and tells her that she has earned it.

El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. beats Lexis King in his NXT debut. After the match, El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. calls out "All Ego" Ethan Page, and Ethan shows up. He announces that El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. will be challenging him for the North American title at Halloween Havoc and that he will beat him. El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. says he has spoken with General Manager Ava and that he wants Ethan in a Day of the Dead Match in which anything goes.

When Zaria asks Sol Ruca why she is in wrestling gear, Sol Ruca states that she is in tonight's 20-woman battle royal to determine a #1 contender for the NXT Women's Championship. Zaria asks Sol Ruca how many championships she needs before telling her that she is facing Blake Monroe solo tonight.

Backstage, General Manager Ava and Total Nonstop Action Director of Authority Santino Marella are talking with Je'Von Evans and Leon Slater when Je'Von and Slater want to know if there is a tag team they can face. Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo and Arianna Grace show up, and says that if it were not for DarkState (Dion Lennox, Cutler James, Saquon Shugars, Osiris Griffin), Leon Slater would probably not be champion right now. This gives Santino Marella the idea of putting Stacks and Slater in a match for the X Division Championship next week on NXT. All of a sudden, a loud crash is heard, and it is revealed that Trick Williams has attacked Ricky Saints.

Blake Monroe beats Zaria. During the match, Blake Monroe pulls a a metal folding chair out from underneath the ring to use it as a weapon, but Sol Ruca shows up to pull the chair out of her hands. Blake Monroe then produces a hair pin, and she strikes Zaria in the throat with it behind the referee's back to hit the Beauty Shot for the win.

Backstage, we hear from General Manager Ava, who announces that next week, the men's Speed Championship tournament will begin. SmackDown's Axiom will take on Evolve's "Super" Sean Legacy, while Total Nonstop Action's Zachary Wentz will face NXT Jasper Troy. The winners of these two matches will face each other for the right to face El Grande Americano for the WWE Speed Championship.

Backstage, Zaria tells Sol Ruca that she is fine following her match with Blake Monroe. Sol Ruca says she should have been out there from the beginning as she apologizes, then says that she wants Zaria to have her opportunity and that she has given her her slot in the 20-woman battle royal tonight. Sol Ruca admits that Blake Monroe was right and that she is somewhat selfish, then says she wants the two of them to have all the gold. The two of them make up.

Backstage, General Manager Ava tells Ricky Saints that Trick Williams is gone as Saints is looking for Trick. She then tells Saints that he will meet Trick Williams next week and asks him to keep it together for their contract signing. Saints tells Ava that he can do that for her.

Backstage, DarkState (Dion Lennox, Cutler James, Saquon Shugars, Osiris Griffin) have attacked The Hardys (Jeff and Matt Hardy). They vow to take back the NXT Tag Team Championships.

Tatum Paxley last eliminates Jordynne Grace and Izzi Dame - inadvertently, as Izzi Dame clotheslines Jordynne Grace over the top rope only for the two of them to tumble over the top rope - to win a 20-woman battle royal and become the #1 contender for the NXT Women's Championship by holding on to the bottom rope as Izzi eliminates herself and Jordynne. During the match, Arianna Grace and Victoria Crawford accidentally get themselves simultatenously eliminated, Lash Legend and Mara Sadé (formerly known as Jakara Jackson) have a reunion, Zaria is forced to eliminate herself to check on Sol Ruca after Sol Ruca is attacked from out of nowhere by Blake Monroe, Kelani Jordan walks on her hands to avoid elimination only to her plans foiled by Jordynne Grace. She then calls them out to whup their asses if they are done running. Tiffany Stratton shows up instead, and delivers a message from Nia Jax: stay out of her business, or else she will have a big problem. Rhea says she does not have time for this, and says she either gets her hands on Liv and Morgan or she can welcome her to Raw "the Rhea Ripley way." As they argue, they are attacked by Liv and Raquel. Liv smacks the Money In The Bank Briefcase across Tiffany's back before she and Raquel stand tall.

Pearce allows it, but tells Rhea that she must have a tag team partner, and when Rhea wonders who will even tag with her, Tiffany Stratton shows up. Pearce asks "What about her?" Rhea says "Fine." Tiffany asks "What does that mean?" Pearce says "You will figure it out."

Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson are seen in the crowd before the next match.

Finn finds out that he not only gets no rematch with Damian Priest, but that a tournament has been made to find new #1 contenders for the World Tag Team Championships. Liv Morgan, Dominik Mysterio and Carlito meet with Finn Balor and JD McDonagh, and after Finn leaves, Carlito and McDonagh are introduced to Raquel Rodriguez, much to the delight of Carlito.

We see another vignette for American Made (Chad Gable, Julius Creed, Brutus Creed, Ivy Nile). Chad Gable defines "greatness" before declaring that American Made is it. Brutus Creed agrees, and Ivy Nile says the locker room has a chance to get their teeth kicked in. Julius says they are sick and tired of "entitled degenerates" looking for hand-outs. Gable says America and the fans need a hero and that they are hero, and that they will show what it means to be "American Made."

We see a vignette for Bron Breakker, who says that he turned his back on "Main Event" Jey Uso because Jey walked into the biggest lottery of his life when they faced off for the Intercontinental Championship, and out of respect, he shook his hand and congratulated him only for Jey to throw it back in his face and refuse to respect him. He says that they are not the same, as he is not carrying on his family name like Jey is, and if Jey wants to do things on his own, then he will take an ass whupping on his own when he comes back for the Intercontinental Championship.

In footage from last Saturday, General Manager Adam Pearce holds a meeting with "Big" Bronson Reed. Bronson wants to get down to business, but Pearce chastises him for how he treated the referees during the Last Monster Standing Match. Bronson apologizes if his actions crossed a line, but in a match like that, no one can stop him, and that he would have won had it not been for Seth "Freakin'" Rollins. Bronson says he did all this to get to the main event, and that he wants the spotlight and the one-on-one match with Seth "Freakin'" Rollins, stating that there will be no trouble if he gets it. Pearce says that if they are on the same page, then he will talk to Rollins. Bronson says Pearce is a smarter negotiator than he thought he was.

He then says that he is at the top of the food chain and that Bronson has forgotten that, and that he has beaten the best of the best. He says he must have the match with Bronson, but at the same time, the best version of himself is needed.

"The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes heads to the ring. He says that to see where you are going, you must see where you have been, and he is proud to be in a city with a rich professional wrestling history in St. Louis, Missouri. He then says there has been more recent history, as not too long ago, something genuinely changed his life for the better, as it was where "We Want Cody" was heard for the first time. Cody thanks the fans of St. Louis very much for the support, then Gunther heads to the ring. Gunther says that he usually trash talks his opponent, but he has nothing negative to say about Cody, as the current wrestling boom has been built off Cody's back, as he has been everywhere and has been "the quarterback of this operation." He says there is not many people he respects in WWE, but Cody is one of the people he respects. Gunther then mentions that Cody loves to be everybody's darling, and because of that, Kevin Owens has realized that "everyone's friend" is "no one's real friend." Gunther then states that he expects the best version of Cody. Cody takes this as his greatest weakness being his greatest strength, and says that he has seen what happens when Gunther throws everything from his arsenal at his opponents and they keep coming back: he gets uncomfortable, and he breaks. Cody admits that he has respect for Gunther, but Gunther is in deep water and his feet have only touched the bottom of the pool. Gunther says that this is "spoken like a secondary champion," and Cody says that while Gunther has become a frightening beast, he has already slain a frightening beast. Cody and Gunther shake hands, and Gunther says "Good luck to me...the champion."

In backstage footage from after last week's show, Xavier Woods has been unhappy with the lack of success that he has had as of late.

He checks on Kofi and Woods, then Breakker gets back on the ring apron and Jey superkicks him off it.

Backstage, Rhea Ripley is met by Damian Priest. Rhea says she has this match, and says it is Tiffany Stratton's time to stand on the ring apron and look pretty. She then asks Priest if she has thought about what they have talked about, and Priest says he has thought about it. Rhea says they have destroyed The Judgment Day (Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio, Carlito, Liv Morgan) multiple times, and that it is time to get back to the World title. Priest says that as long as she has beef with The Judgment Day, so does he, and that he has her back. He then agrees it is time to get back the World title.

Backstage, "Main Event" Jey Uso opens a door and finds Jimmy Uso. Jimmy says "Got a second?" Jey looks around, then leaves.

R-Truth beats The Miz after The Final Testament (Karrion Kross, Scarlett, Akam, Rezar, Paul Ellering) shows up, distracting Miz and allowing R-Truth to win with a schoolkid pin. After the match, R-Truth hugs Miz and the referee, then leaves the ring and fistbumps Karrion Kross only for Kross to command The Authors of Pain (Akam and Rezar) to throw R-Truth back in the ring so that Miz can hit R-Truth with the Skull Crushing Finale. At the beginning of the match, a brief message by The Wyatt Sicks (Uncle Howdy, Erick Rowan, Joe Gacy, Dexter Lumis, Nikki Cross) can be seen.

Backstage, Jimmy Uso is looking for "Main Event" Jey Uso. He eventually finds him. Jimmy asks Jey to hear him out, but Jey tells him no and tells him to get out of his face.

Rhea Ripley and Tiffany Stratton beat Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez by disqualification after Nia Jax suddenly shows up and attacks Rhea and Raquel as Rhea is about to hit Raquel with a Riptide on the outside and Tiffany is about to hiv Liv Morgan with a Prettiest Moonsault Ever. After the match, Rhea attacks Nia, but Liv hits Rhea from behind with a chop block. Nia grabs Liv and attacks her, but Raquel and "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio pull Liv out of the ring before Nia can hit the A-Nia-Lator.

Josh Alexander says that he is one of the best tag team champs in Impact history and that the X Division Championship meant that he has arrived as a singles competitor, and that facing Sabin planted the seeds for exercising Option C. He says that it pained him to give up the X Division title, but the prize is sweeter on the other side, and he has no regrets about giving the title away for a chance at the world title. Christian says he sees the hunger and passion in Alexander's eyes and says Alexander has been overlooked in his career, then says that is where the similarities end, as there is nobody who compares to him in the ring. Alexander says he grew up watching Christian hailing from a place not far from where he lived and watched his career, then says he is the wild card and who Christian has to watch, because he knows the cards that Christian plays. He admits that he has watched Alexander's career from before and that Alexander has to act like he's been there before, and he says that Alexander cannot do that. Alexander says Christian's words mean nothing and that he has no respect for him, and that Christian will find out what it is like to step in the ring with him at Bound For Glory. Alexander leaves, and Chrsitian says Alexander proved his point about not channeling his emotions.
