Memphis Thing - Memphis Wrestling recap for August 1, 2026

Dustin Starr interviews K-Toomer at the announce desk to start today's show. K-Toomer says that lately, he has been pissed off, as he talked legacy, history and opportunity and was not getting opportunity, and how he created an opportunity for everyone else. He says that his mission is to make everyone care about the Big Mane Fight Championship as if it were a legitimate championship, and to that, he has to keep dropping body after body. He then throws out an open challenge.

K-Toomer retains the BMF Championship against Big Nico by referee stoppage with a sleeper hold after striking Big Nico into near-unconsciousness.

We hear from Mike Anthony, who asks Tim Bosby who died and made him king so he could demand a stipulation after everything that he had done recently. Anthony then says he has his own stipulation, then replaces the Heritage Championship with an identical title with a white strap instead of a black one. We then find out from Dustin Starr that Mike Anthony wants a lumberjack match.

Dustin Starr interviews "Action" Mike Jackson at the announce desk. Mike Jackson talks about how he came to Memphis in 1974 and beat Tommy Gilbert for championship gold in the Mid-South Coliseum when "The Gold Standard" Eli Knox and Moses show up and interrupt. Eli Knox calls Mike Jackson "a washed up old man" and says the Junior Heritage title should be called "the Senior Heritage title" before giving him a chance to hand him the title and leave. He says that has taken on some of the best and that Eli's name is not among them, and while he respects a lot of guys, he does not respect Eli. Mike hopes Eli's butt is as big as mouth when he beats him in the ring.

"Action" Mike Jackson retains the Memphis Wrestling Junior Heritage Championship against "The Gold Standard" Eli Knox after whipping Eli Knox into Moses, knocking Moses off the apron.

Backstage, Xya thanks Gigi Turner for having her back. Gigi tells Xya to keep an eye on the gold, and Xya notes they are thinking the same thing before mentioning that they are in tag team action next week.

Dustin Starr interviews The Hollywood Clique ("Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock, Jay Smooth, Secret Service). Jimmy Blaylock says getting rid of Kale was "the best thing ever," then introduces a special guest who has done more in nineteen years than anyone else ever: his son, Jay Blaylock. Jay says he does not like how Dustin and the fans have treated his father, then says he is putting his foot down on Dustin and the fans and demands his father be given respect. As Jimmy Blaylock says he has the Hollywood Cup with him, he finds out that the cup - now officially called the Cobra Cup again - is missing from Jay Smooth. Suddenly, someone in a black hoodie shows up with the Cup, and it is none other than Kale, who leaves through the fan entrance.

We see footage of Marko Stunt vs. Gran Metalik for the Arkansas Travelers Championship at Arkansas Travelers' Wrestling Night.

Dustin Starr interviews Big John Dalton at the announce desk. He mentions Memphis Wrestling's partnership with St. Jude's Children Hospital for Tupelo Throwdown IV, then brings out Big Daddy. He says that he is on a hot streak and that he and his father is doing great before VaShawn Harvey interrupts. VaShawn says he and the people in the back are using his father to gain sympathy from the fans, then says that WrestleCenter is a place of business and a place for the strong. Big John Dalton reminds VaShawn that he recently lost to Marko Harris, but VaShawn says he has been a champion while Big John Dalton only won gold because of K-Toomer and Buff Bagwell. He then says that he feels bad for Big Daddy, since he is going to die knowing his son is a failure. Big John punches VaShawn in the jaw, and referees have to get involved before things get worse.

We hear from Matchmaker King Cobra. He announces that next week's Heritage Championship match between Tim Bosby and Mike Anthony will be two-out-of-three falls and a have a lumberjack match for the second fall, and in case of a third fall, the third fall will be in a submission match.

Marko "Hangtime" Harris retains the Memphis Wrestling Internet Championship against "Livewire" Bobby Ford. Before the match begins, "The King of Pow" Chris Lexx shows up and tells the referee to check Bobby Ford, and the referee finds a chain in Bobby Ford's boot.
