Generation NXT - NXT recap for December 9, 2025

Oba Femi heads to the ring to start tonight's show. Oba says that true power does not bend or break, but watches the world revolve around it and says that he is true power. He says that the starts aligned for Ricky Saints at No Mercy and knocked him off his throne temporarily, but NXT was not the same without him on top. He says that the universe did what it does best and found a way to correct itself, and the NXT Championship came back to him. He says that this is the way it is supposed to be and that he is now done with Saints and focused on "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes. Oba says that Cody will see not the future or potential, but the now and the inevitable, then Ricky Saints shows up and congratulates Oba on doing what he said he would do, then says he is man enough to admit that Oba was the better man at Deadline. As for what is next for him, Saints felt at first that he would never be NXT Champion again, but he is coming back for the title and he is steering the universe back on track. As Saints demands a championship rematch, Je'Von Evans shows up and says that he is #1 contender after becoming men's Iron Survivor, and that he is now wondering why he should wait until January to have his title match. Je'Von proclaims that he is locked right now and that he wants his title match right now, but Saints wants to know what the rush is and says that Je'Von versus him is "the better play." Je'Von says that he is the now, not the future, and that nobody is touching him at 21 years of age. He says that Oba is the man to beat for the NXT Championship and that he is putting money on himself right now. Saints agrees with Je'Von, and Oba Femi gets angry over the two of them telling him how to run the show. Saints and Je'Von talk this up to cowardice, but Oba Femi says that he has always beaten Je'Von and that tonight is no different.

Backstage, we hear from Tatum Paxley, who says that Izzi Dame has destroyed the old her and that while she has nothing left to lose, Izzi does. Tatum produces dolls of Shawn Spears and Niko Vance and says that since she did not want to play Izzi's way, Izzi will now be playing her way, and after she gets rid of Spears and Vance, it will just be the two of them together.

Kelani Jordan beats Jordynne Grace after kicking Jordynne off the ring steps and into the barricade as the referee takes the chair out of Jordynne's hands. This causes the barricade to break before Kelani hits Jordynne with a top rope 450 splash for the pin and the win.

Backstage in the women's locker room, Jordynne Grace is disappointed with herself not being able to beat Kelani Jordan. Thea Hail says this is a time to believe in herself, not doubt herself, but Jordynne is puzzled that she is taking advice from someone much younger than her.

Blake Monroe heads to the ring. She says that the rest of the women's locker room looks up and idolizes her as Women's North American Champion, and says that she is in a giving mood for the holidays before hosting an open challenge for her title. The open challenge is answered by numerous opponents, and Blake is suddenly attacked from behind by Thea Hail , who puts her in a Kimura Lock and forces her to flee. Blake is soon surrounded by the women's locker room.

Backstage, Kelly Kincaid interviews Shiloh Hill, who gives a very scientific explanation of nervousness in the body before heading out to the ring for his NXT debut against Lexis King. He also reveals that he has pop-on veneers for his front teeth.

Shiloh Hill beats Lexis King in his NXT debut.

Backstage, Kelly Kincaid interviews Oba Femi. Oba says he has learned to expect the unexpected as champion, then says the end result is always predictable. He hopes "The American Nighmare" Cody Rhodes is watching, as while he knows what Je'Von Evans is all about, he does not know what Oba Femi is capable of. He asks Cody who will carry him when he puts him in the ground when he breaks him just like he will Je'Von Evans.

"All Ego" Ethan Page heads to the ring. Ethan Page says he came to NXT to drink from the fountain of youth and learn as much as possible, but all the people he asked questions to are all preoccupied with social media. He talks about how John Cena will soon become a distant memory and leave a hole that will be filled with a man with a giant ego: himself. He also talks about how he won the North American Championship and made it prestigious after he could not win his way back to the NXT title. Ethan says the best had tried to take his title and could not do it, and he decided to keep on conquering and became AAA Mixed Tag Champion. He then says that one's birthday, one's death day and the day one realizes he is the biggest Superstar WWE has to offer as the three most important days, and going forward under his supervision, NXT will be perfectly fine. All of a sudden, the lights go out, and Tony D'Angelo appears behind Ethan. When Ethan turns around, D'Angelo hits him with a spinebuster and leaves a black piece of fabric similar to what was in the box handed to General Manager Ava a few weeks ago.

Backstage, Dion Lennox runs into General Manager Ava, Myles Borne, Leon Slater and Joe Hendry. Ava puts all four men in a four-way match where the winner will face whoever is NXT Champion after New Year's Evil. "All Ego" Ethan Page shows up angry from being attacked by Tony D'Angelo, and flinches when Myles Borne says that someone is behind him.

Sol Ruca beats Wren Sinclair. Zaria is seen watching from the crowd during the match. After the match, Zaria leaves through the crowd, and Sol Ruca chases her down. Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley, Lainey Reid) then heads to the ring.

Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley, Lainey Reid) are in the ring after the commercial break along with Kendal Grey and Wren Sinclair. Jacy tells Kendal Grey that she should be proud of her NXT accomplishments so far, then says this is as good as it will get for her as she has the fans supporting her and she is the present. She then tells Kendal that her reality will smack her in the face at New Year's Evil when her fifteen minutes of fame end the moment she loses, and that she will send her into a catastrophic death spiral as the fans move on to the next new thing. Jacy says that potential does not win championships, and while Kendal is Evolve Women's Champion, the NXT Women's Championship is a whole different level, and while Kendal tried to make a name for herself all year, she dominated this year. Jacy lists off her accomplishments from this year and states that she is a rock star in the ring as well as the foundation that holds NXT together, and that she will not let "a flash in the pan bootleg Kurt Angle" ruin her spotlight. Jacy says that Kendal stands no chance, but Kendal says that she is the one with the momentum now despite having so much to learn. She says she shocked even herself becoming women's Iron Survivor, and reminds Jacy that she was also an unexpected champion when she beat Stephanie Vaquer. Kendal dares Jacy to treat their match at New Year's Evil as a joke, and mentions the face that Jacy will make when the underdog bites back. Jacy laughs Kendal off, but Wren Sinclair sees this as the beginning of "WrenCC" taking all of Fatal Influence's gold. This soon leads to a cheap shot from Fatal Influence on Kendal Grey. Wren Sinclair makes the save, but the numbers game catches up.

Backstage, Kelly Kincaid interviews Hank Walker and Tank Ledger, who are wearing kimonos. They talk about their time in Japan, then they are met by OTM (Bronco Nima and Lucien Price). This leads to a match between the two teams.

Backstage, Blake Monroe meets with General Manager Ava and blames her for the throng of challengers answering her open challenge, including that "blonde little bitch" Thea Hail, then says she will not hold another. Ava puts Blake Monroe in a match with Thea Hail next week.

Sol Ruca catches up with Zaria, who says that she just wanted to support her tonight. Zaria wishes Sol Ruca luck against Bayley, and Sol Ruca asks Zaria to be there at Saturday Night's Main Event. They both apologize to each other and hug it out, saying they have never had a friend like the other before heading out.

Oba Femi retains the NXT Championship against Je'Von Evans after Ricky Saints pulls the referee out of the ring following Je'Von's counter of Fall from Grace into the signature two cutters. Je'Von takes out Saints, but Oba Femi gets the better of Je'Von and hits the Fall from Grace to win and retain.

Raw Deal - Raw recap for December 9, 2024

Gunther heads to the ring to start tonight's show. Gunther says that Finn Balor now has his attention and that Saturday Night's Main Event will not be like Survivor Series for him. Suddenly, The Judgment Day (Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio, Carlito) shows up. Finn says Gunther should have given him the title match, but he gave it to Dominik instead, then says he is the only reason Gunther is World Heavyweight Champion right now. He also says that Gunther is right about Saturday Night's Main Event being different from Survivor Series because he will take the title from him and become a world champion for the first time in eight years. Gunther says Finn did not earn a title shot on Saturday and that he knows Finn is frustrated, as he looked up to him and respected him eight years, but that respect faded away as soon as Finn Balor cut corners and aligned himself with The Judgment Day. He also says that Finn chose to play second fiddle to Damian Priest, and with no respect between them left, he is literally looking down on him, as Finn was best in the world for one night while he is the best for a long time to come. Gunther says that Finn will not be champion after Saturday because he was not and never will be at his level. The Judgment Day approaches the ring, but Damian Priest shows up and tears through them. Priest sends JD McDonagh into the ring to be smashed by Gunther, then Gunther hits Priest with a lariat and proceeds to attack him. Finn hits Gunther with a Sling Blade before he can powerbomb Priest through the table, then drop kicks Priest into the steel steps before hitting Gunther with a Coup de Grace. Meanwhile, Priest fights off The Judgment Day, but the numbers game takes over. Priest is soon held in place for not one, not two, but three Coup de Graces.

Backstage, The Judgment Day (Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio, Carlito, Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez) are met by General Manager Adam Pearce, who says that Damian Priest will now be in the World Heavyweight Championship match at Saturday Night's Main Event. Finn says it will make his championship win even more satisfying, then Pearce announces that Finn and JD McDonagh will defend the World tag titles against The War Raiders next week with the rest of The Judgment Day banned from ringside. Pearce leaves, then Liv asks Finn for advice for her and Raquel's match tonight. Finn asks Liv to give him a few minutes.

PBR Professional Bull Rider Koltin Hevalow is seen in the front row.

The Final Testament (Karrion Kross, Akam, Rezar) and The Miz beat The Wyatt Sicks (Uncle Howdy, Erick Rowan, Joe Gacy, Dexter Lumis) after Nikki Cross attacks Scarlett and Paul Ellering shows up out of nowhere to throw powder into Uncle Howdy's face.

In backstage footage from earlier today, Jackie Redmond interviews CM Punk. Punk declines to talk about the favor between him and Paul Heyman, then says he will not shy away from a fight with Seth Rollins and that he finds Rollins' hatred of him confusing. He mentions his history with Rollins, even mentioning that Rollins wanted to be trained for free, saying that everything Rollins has done, he has done before him and better, and while Rollins has filled the vacuum from when he was gone, it is time for him to go back on the bench.

Liv Morgan beats Dakota Kai. During the match, Pure Fusion Collective (Sonya Deville, Zoey Stark, "The Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler) shows up to watch from ringside. Liv gets the win after the brief distraction from Sonya Deville, who gets knocked off the ring apron by Dakota as soon as she sees her. After the match, Pure Fusion Collective surround and attack Dakota Kai before Iyo Sky and Kairi Sane show up and make the save. Kairi takes out Pure Fusion Collective with a dive from the top rope, but Liv returns to hit Iyo Sky with Ob-Liv-Ion.

We hear from Drew McIntyre, who calls Hell In A Cell the most violent match of his career, and says that he succumbed to massive blood loss. He says he had to return to his family in Scotland, and that 2024 should have been his year, but he got screwed time and time again. McIntyre says that he thought people could change, but then he watched Survivor Series, and he knew that he had to take out Roman Reigns' Bloodline (Roman Reigns, "Main Event" Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, Sami Zayn) and CM Punk in order to change the present and the future.

It is announced that "Main Event" Jey Uso is not medically cleared to compete this week.

Backstage, The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) show up after General Manager Adam Pearce meets with "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes. Cody tells The New Day they should be ashamed of themselves.

Seth "Freakin'" Rollins heads to the ring. Rollins says CM Punk has a future as a politician and calls his backstage interview a master class in spinning the truth, which he says Punk has done his entire life. He calls Punk a fraud and a con man, and admits that he asked Punk to train him. He says that he and CM Punk were friends, then says that Punk failed to mention that when he walked out on WWE, he and several friends reached out to him only to get no response. He mentions that Punk badmouthed the company every chance he could, and that Punk only walked back into WWE because he failed at everything else, he burned every bridge that led to water, and the money was right. Rollins admits that he used to respect and want to be like Punk, but he realized that Punk was a fraud and he wanted to be better, which he did, including main eventing WrestleMania. Suddenly, Sami Zayn shows up, and CM Punk warns him that they will be fighting if he is here to defend CM Punk. Sami says they have said things while angry and that this was bound to happen, then says it was wrong of him to assume that Rollins attacked Jey Uso backstage and that he has known him long enough to know, and for that, he apologizes. Rollins says he is glad Sami brought that up, as they have been close friends for twenty years, and admits that Sami was the first person to come to his mind. Sami says Rollins was out of his mind last week and that he did not even know who he was. Sami also says that Rollins sounded less like himself and more like Drew McIntyre. Rollins says he is not Drew McIntyre, to which Sami agrees, saying he is better than McIntyre. He then says that his anger at Punk brings out the worst in him, and that he probably should not have gotten involved. Sami then says he will stay out of Rollins' business regarding McIntyre, to which Rollins appreciates, and when asked if they are good again, Rollins says "Yeah, we're good." He then says that just like how he has business with Punk, Sami has business with McIntyre. As Rollins leaves, Sami says that is pretty good advice, then says he will end things as quickly as possible with McIntyre. He says he has spoken with General Manager Adam Pearce, and at Saturday Night's Main Event, he faces McIntyre. On his way back up the ramp, Sami is suddenly attacked by McIntyre. Officials have to pull McIntyre off Sami.

Lyra Valkyria beats Ivy Nile and Zelina Vega to advance in the WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship Tournament.

Backstage, Cathy Kelley interviews The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods). They refuse to answer any questions regarding why they berated Big E, then says they will talk to the fans instead. Woods takes the camera with him as they head to the ring. When The New Day are booed by the crowd, Kofi cannot believe it, and neither can Woods, who gets the "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio treatment and gets booed so badly he cannot even speak. Woods says they did nothing to Big E, and Kofi says they could have hit Big E with a weapon and the fans still would have loved them, but the audience refuses to let them finish. The New Day then leaves, drowned out by the audience, and when they do, the fans cheer.

Rhea Ripley beats Raquel Rodriguez in an Anything Goes Match following interference from both Liv Morgan and Iyo Sky. After the match, Iyo Sky grabs the Women's World title at the same time as Rhea, and they have a staredown as the show ends.

Before Cody can say anything, Sting shows up, and "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson says he had to get a little closer to make sure this was real, then says that both Cody and Sting have agendas and that he will get out of the ring. Schiavone hands the microphone to Sting and prepares to leave, but Sting asks for a hug as it has been so many years since they last talked, and gives Schiavone kudos for helping him throughout his career and has him say "It's Sting!" one more time, which he does. Cody then welcomes Sting back after Schiavone leaves, then thanks him for the assist last week before saying he has waited to share a ring with him for a very long time. Sting says he is not here for him - at least, not right now - then says there is something really, really familiar about the arena before pointing at Darby Allin, who is sitting in one of the upper levels. He says that the animals are the same but different in a lot of ways, then says he is in a jungle and he has come full circle after showing up on TNT once again. Cody welcomes Sting back once again, then Sting says Cody knows what goes on in the arena but also knows that the only sure thing about him is that nothing is for sure. Sting then announces he is signed to AEW and plans to be close to the fans and the promotion for a long time, and that he plans to spend a lot of time in AEW. He then says the way he chooses to play is his business, then puts his arm hand on Cody's shoulder and says "See you around, kid."

We hear from Taz, who brags about Team Taz ("The Machine" Brian Cage, "Absolute" Ricky Starks, Powerhouse Hobbs) beating up "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes and Darby Allin before Sting came to the rescue. Ricky Starks tells Cody Rhodes to take a good look at Hook, who is treaining with Taz in the dojo now. Taz then says his men are always ready to beat somebody's ass.

FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) beat The Varsity Blondes (Griff Garrison and Brian Pillman Jr.). After the match, FTR have a brief confrontation with Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy, Marko Stunt, Luchasaurus).

In footage from earlier today, Alex Marvez interviews "Hangman" Adam Page, who is met by Alex "3" Reynolds and John "4" Silver in cowboy hats, who want to be his partners in his six-man tag match next week. Page, initially reluctant, tells him it is one and done and that he is not joining The Dark Order before saying he accepts.

"The Natural" Dustin Rhodes beats Preston "10" Vance. During the match, Aaron Solow grabs at 10 from the front row only to eat a pump kick. After the match, Evil Uno shows up with the rest of The Dark Order, and tells Dustin that while he cannot change their past, they can improve their future. He tells Dustin his name comes with pressure, as he is only "the third-most important Rhodes," then asks Dustin if he is ready to take his rightful place as "7." Dustin slaps Evil Uno in the face, and when The Dark Order rushes towards the ring, Evil Uno tells them to back up before telling Dustin he will come begging for it when he sees the light and understands what he understands.

Tony Schiavone interviews Brandi Rhodes and Shaquille O'Neal. Shaq says that he has seen Jade Cargill's recent appearance on Dynamite and admits he is a fan of hers, but that he did not appreciate what she did to Brandi's arm, which is now in a cast. Brandi says Cargill came to her house and talked down to her people, and that her reaction is the one to be expected when somebody does that. Brandi proposes that they can stop all this so nobody can get hurt, and Shaq says he would love to see that, and admits that while he and Cody are messing around, he knows it is serious between Jade Cargill and Brandi Rhodes. He then tells Brandi to watch Cargill, as she might get a few pointers from her. When Brandi asks if this is a joke, Shaq says he is serious, which leads to Brandi throwing water into Shaq's face before calling him "an overgrown asshole." The interview ends with a wet Shaq looking dead at the camera.

The Inner Circle shows up. Chris Jericho says this is a serious night for them, as this is the last night they could be in the ring together due to the ultimatum that he proposed last week where he either asked the group to come together better than before or split up forever. He says the group's behavior from last week was "embarrassing and sickening" and will never happen again, and after mentioning that everyone is angry with each other and that Santana is so irritated with everyone that he did not show up tonight. MJF tells The Inner Circle that he loves them all, then says he understands what is going on here and says he is the issue here because people think he wants to break up the group or take it over, but tells them that he wanted to join because he wanted to be part of the greatest faction in professional wrestling and create bonds that would never be broken. He says the ultimate broke him last week, but Sammy Guevara interrupts him and tells him to shut up. Jericho says they all watch Dynamite and that they know what he was doing with the towel last week, and while MJF says he had sweat on his brow, Ortiz says MJF and Wardlow are talented assets who are beneficial to the group, then says it is debatable if they are human beings, especially MJF, who he admits is "growing on [him] like a fungus." Ortiz then asks Guevara to shake MJF's hand, and says that while Jericho chose him, one does not always choose the hand they are dealt and that together, they can be a winning hand, then tells him to be the better man because he is better than MJF and he knows it. A reluctant Guevara says he will shake hands and says he trusts Jericho with everything, but tells both MJF and Jericho that he will quit The Inner Circle if anything else happens here. Jericho agrees, then Guevara shakes MJF's hand after telling Jericho he is serious. Jericho tells Guevara he appreciates him standing up for himself and appreciates what Ortiz has to say, then Jake Hager asks why Wardlow keeps staring at him. Wardlow says Jake has been staring at him, and both men admit they are creeping each other out. Jericho calls for an end to the staring war, with both men agreeing to it while saying that they can stop staring if they want to. Jericho then announces that The Inner Circle is on the same page and are agreeing grow and build and dominate AEW like they can, and has everyone put their hands in for a multi-man flip off after having to stop MJF from talking about having to beat up Orange Cassidy tonight.

Backstage, Alex Marvez interviews FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) and Tully Blanchard. Wheeler takes full responsibility for costing FTR the tag team titles, but Blanchard tells him not to shoulder all the responsibilty, as he was not at ringside. Harwood says you can slap a bad-ass bumper sticker on a Dodge Stratus, but that does not make it a 1982 Ford Bronco. He then says they are still the baddest tag team on the planet and that the AEW World Tag Team Championships are still their goal.

Eddie Kingston, The Butcher and The Blade beat Lance Archer and The Lucha Bros. (Penta El Zero M and Rey Fenix) in a six-man tag match. Penta El Zero M is helped to the back by officials as Eddie Kingston points and laughs at him after being put through a table with a vertical suplex by The Butcher early in the match. After the match, Lance Archer single-handedly attacks the winning team, and when The Blade tries to save Eddie Kingston, he is laid out and has to be saved by The Butcher.

Backstage, Jade Cargill and Nyla Rose attack Red Velvet. Serena Deeb confronts them, but he is shoved from behind by Ivelisse, who is joined by Diamante. Officials have to stop the ensuing brawl.

Abadon beats Tesha Price, then attacks her after the match. Suddenly, Hikaru Shida shows up, which causes Abadon to stop. Hikaru Shida helps Tesha Price up after smacking Abadon with her Kendo stick, but Abadon quickly gets up as Shida helps Tesha Price out of the ring.

Backstage, Dasha Gonzalez interviews Chris Jericho. Jericho says The Inner Circle is on the same page, and because of their solidarity, they will join MJF and Wardlow at ringside tonight to ensure and guarantee MJF beats Orange Cassidy and retains the Dynamite Diamond Ring.

We see Kenny Omega and Don Callis arrive to the arena by helicopter. As Alex Marvez interviews them, Callis tells Marvez they can wait and watch them in the ring like everyone else before showing up in the ring to be interviewed by Tony Schiavone, who shows his disgust over what happened last week. Callis says he and Tony Khan are upset like the fans, and welcomes Tony Khan to the wrestling business before saying that last week was not a screwjob and that he and Omega did the unthinkable and appeared on Impact Wrestling last night. He says that he has watched Omega since he was a kid grow into a world champion like an invisible hand, and says that they have made history with the match with Chris Jericho at the Tokyo Dome and says that without them, Tony Khan would not have created AEW. Omega says he and Callis waited for over a year and bided their time for this moment, and says that they have pulled this off more successfully than anyone else. He says that all other achivements pale in comparison to the AEW World Championship, which he calls the most prestigious prize in wrestling before calling last week's match "a performance" and "fine art" and saying that the fans fell for it all hook, line and sinker. He then says that they needed Jon Moxley to buy into it, and says that while Moxley hurt him, he does not have the intelligence, then says more is coming. Callis stops Omega, saying "they're not ready for it," then says some people make matches and others make money while they make history before Omega bids adieu.

Next week: "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes vs. Angelico! "Hangman" Adam Page, Alex "3" Reynolds and John "4" Silver vs. Matt Hardy and Private Party (Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy)! The Acclaimed (Max Caster and Anthony Bowen) vs. SoCal Uncensored ("The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian)! Serena Deeb and Big Swole vs. Ivelisse and Diamante!

MJF beats Orange Cassidy to retain the Dynamite Diamond Ring. During the match, Best Friends (Chuck Taylor and Trent) bring out other tag teams from the locker room to root Orange Cassidy on. When Wardlow puts MJF's foot on the rope during a pinfall, this causes a brawl between The Inner Circle and the other tag teams that distracts the referee. As this goes on, Miro attacks Cassidy with a clothesline, allowing MJF to get the win. After the match, Best Friends brawl with Miro and "Superbad" Kip Sabian on the stge, and referees and security try to hold Miro back only for security to be laid back, with one member of security thrown off the stage head-first into the ringside floor.
