Raw Deal - Raw recap for March 24, 2025

John Cena heads to the ring to start tonight's show. He says the crowd is ready to do their worst as they have understood what is going on and that the spotlight is on them, and that he can rip any of the fans to shreds. Cena says no one in safe, especially after he put a clueless kid on blast, but when WWE posted it, everyone loved it. This leads to a "Fuck you, Cena!" chant, then asks who is worse, him - the one guy who always tells the truth - or the fans, whose best idea is to use profanity as they love to watch and rewatch and meme a young kid getting destroyed. He says he does not need to single anyone here out as they are all horrible people, and tonight, they get to fnd out how he will make them pay for the abuse they have put him through. He says that for 25 years, he has listened to the fans' lies and noise, but he did not waste that time being mean and instead, he paid attention. This leads to a "Shut the fuck up!" chant from the crowd. Cena says the fans make this so easy and that they were chanting profanity at the top of their lungs, he was paying attention to the fans, studying, quizzing, testing, prodding and even rewarding them for playing around with their curse-ridden nursery rhymes, and in doing so, they have told him every single thing about themselves. He says the fans know nothing about him and that he knows more about the fans than they do, and proclaims that they all have sad lives and that this is all they have. To him, the fans have been nothing more than an experiment and "rats in a cage," and asks the fans to pick any moment from his career so he can reveral what he learned about them. He says that when he bled, the fans thought he was tough; when he spoke, they were inspired; when he was edgy, they were excited; when he was vanilla, they were bored; when he was loyal, they were loved; when he was selfish, they were disrespected; when he would speak in rhythmic tones, they chanted "What?" Cena says the fans will always tell everything about themselves because they desperately want to matter, and the most important thing they told him was in April 2005, when he gave the fans the "spinner belt," and just like now, they ate him alive and told him how stupid he was for turning the WWE Championship into a toy; he states it is not a toy, but a symbol of the center of WWE, and it disrespected tradition as well as the fans' legacy. He says this was the biggest mistake the fans ever made, as they told him what meant the most to them in their lives, and for that, he will ruin wrestling for every fan, for every wrestler, and for everyone. He says that at WrestleMania, he will make history by winning a 17th championship, and he will finally force everyone to forget "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair's name and say the name "John Cena." He also says that he will win the championship - the center of every Superstar in the business and every fan in the building - and retire with it, and take it home with him and leave the fans to create their own "toy belt." Cena proclaims that he will become the last real champion in WWE, and says that revenge is best served cold, and that he will pay the fans back by ripping their collective heart out and forcing them to watch as he walks away with the fans' memories, traditions and dreams with nothing they can do to stop him. "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes shows up and gets the "Daddy Cool"-style chant, then reminds Cena that he has to take the Undisputed WWE Championship away from him first. Cody says he made a mistake bringing up "the new John" and that Cena is clearly angry and willing, and is the most dangerous he has ever been. He says that Cena made the biggest mistake was in not hitting him with the WWE Championship at Elimination Chamber, but in saying what he just said while in the building. Cody says that they do not have to unpack their history, and that he has fought hard and violently just to hold the WWE Championship one time just to validate one name, and yet Cena satates that the timeline of all of professional wrestling hangs in the balance because of his vanity. He lays the WWE Championship between them, then gives Cena the opportunity to take the title from him. Both men have a stand-off in the middle of hte ring, then Cena walks away and heads to the back. When Cody screams at him, Cena teases heading back to the ring, but leaves again. Cody says he cannot have this on his consciousness, and that he needs Cena to see him and the fans and understand that his psychotic need to take the WWE Championship does not outweigh their right to keep it. He says the champion in standing in the center of the ring, not in the entryway, and to see Cena walking away empty-handed now is how Cena will walk away from WrestleMania and WWE.

The Usos ("Main Event" Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso) beat A-Town Down Under (Grayson Waller and Austin Theory) in their first tag team match in a year and a half, when they beat Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa at WrestleMania 39. After the match, Gunther shoves Jimmy Uso out of the ring, then brawls with Jey. Jey goes for a Spear, but Jey trips, and Gunther jumps onto Jey and rains down elbows on him until Jimmy chases him away with a metal folding chair.

Backstage, Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez entertain the idea of Raquel as a double champion when "Dirty" Dominik and Carlito show up. Dominik says things did not go well with Finn Balor again, and Liv Morgan says Finn Balor blames everyone for all his problems. Liv says that things will get better soon, then Carlito entertains the idea of challenging for the WWE Intercontinental Championship before Liv counters Finn not wanting Penta in The Judgment Day (Finn, Dominik, Carlito, Liv, Raquel) by saying Finn did not want Liv in the group only for things to turn out well.

We see a vignette for "El Grande Americano," who hails from "the Gulf of America" and was raised to be the ultimate luchador and reach the top of the industry, and for decades, was the face of lucha libre until he was black-balled by his jealous enemies and he disappeared without a trace. Now, the legend has returned to bring honor and glory to lucha libre. (The vignette is also noticably AI-generated.) Backstage, General Manager Adam Pearce, Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee have seen the vignette, and "El Grande Americano" is the newest member of the Raw roster. Chad Gable shows up coughing with a tissue in his hand to insist that he is not El Grande Americano, even though they both have some physical similarities. He produces a legitimate doctor's note to Adam Pearce and says he cannot compete tonight, and proposes that Dragon Lee face El Grande Americano. Dragon Lee says he will take the match, then he and Rey leave as Rey tells Gable "You're a real jackass."

Actor Richard Gadd is seen in the crowd.

Lyra Valkyria retains the WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship against Raquel Rodriguez after making Liv Morgan pay for putting Raquel's foot on the bottom rope during a pinfall attempt and reversing the Tejana Bomb with a Victory Roll. After the match, Liv attacks Lyra from behind, and Raquel joins in. Bayley soon runs into the ring to make the save, and she and Lyra soon clean house.

It is announced that The Natural Disasters (Earthquake and Typhoon) will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2025.

Backstage, Jimmy Uso meets with "Main Event" Jey Uso and says that Jey has been in his own head since last week and that if he keeps slipping like he has since last week, he will not win at WrestleMania. Jey says he does not know if he can beat Gunther, but Jimmy says it is "not this Uce" and that he needs "The Right Hand Man" and the man who won the Royal Rumble. Jimmy then sees Gunther and challenges him to a match next week. Gunther accepts as long as he does not trip and fall like his brother, and Jimmy responds by slapping Jimmy in the face. Gunther smiles after Jimmy leaves.

General Manager Adam Pearce is in the ring with the contract for the Women's World Championship match between Bianca Belair and Iyo Sky at WrestleMania, which also contains Rhea Ripley's signature. He assures that Rhea Ripley is not in the match, and Ripley's signature means nothing as she already has a rematch while Bianca has earned the right to be called #1 contender. He says that Rhea will not earn her title shot on her own time before Iyo Sky shows up and says she does not care about contracts, and that it does not matter who she faces, as she will take on both of them because she is Women's World Champion. As Adam Pearce asks Iyo Sky to hear him out, Bianca shows up and says Pearce is right in confirming she earned her championship opportunity at WrestleMania, and she is not about to let Rhea Ripley headbutther way into the match, saying that if she did not earn it, she does not deserve it. Rhea Ripley shows up and says she does not give a damn about WrestleMania and that she does not care who she has to go through to get her title back; all she wants is her rematch. Bianca tells Ripley to wait three more weeks to get her rematch, and Ripley shoves Iyo Sky to the side. Pearce has to hold Iyo Sky back as he angrily announces that Ripley will get her rematch next week, with the winner facing Bianca at WrestleMania, and then leaves. The three women then brawl, and Bianca comes out on top.

Backstage, "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio meets with Penta, saying he knows he is good and could be better, and offers him a spot in The Judgment Day (Finn Balor, Dominik, Carlito, Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez).

We see a vignette for The War Raiders (Ivar and Erik).

Backstage, The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) meet with General Manager Adam Pearce demanding a tag team title match at WrestleMania, and do not get it, being told to come back when they are ready to prove they are the greatest tag team in the world. The New Day leave, then Bianca shows up wanting to know who her WrestleMania opponent is, and finds out that she will be the special guest referee for Rhea Ripley vs. Iyo Sky for the Women's World Championship.

El Grande Americano beats Dragon Lee by submission with an ankle lock after ripping Dragon Lee's mask off and pulling him off the top rope. Dragon Lee is forced to submit to hide his true, unmasked identity.

CM Punk heads to the ring. Punk says that while he is happy to be in Glasgow, Scotland, he is not in a good mood. While he has a match at WrestleMania, it is not initially what he wanted. He addresses what has been going on since Royal Rumble with Seth "Freakin'" Rollins and Roman Reigns, and says that the two men who are keeping him away from what he wants have to go. He says Rollins takes him as a threat to his own career, and that Roman is taking things personally now that Paul Heyman is not just his wise man anymore. He says things that are personal to them is business to him, and announces a contract signing for their WrestleMania match before stating that he wants to read the fine print and see if it either gets him what he wants or is "another rug pull from the powers that be." He tells Roman and Rollins to fuel up the jets since they could not grace the fans with their presence in Glasgow, and that he will see them in London, England. He also warns them that neither of them have beaten him without the others' help because they cannot, and that he brought them into the business and cannot wait to be the man who takes them both out of it.

We see an Instagram video from Logan Paul, who says that he is praying for "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles' downfall and that he wants to see Styles next week.

Backstage, Cathy Kelley interviews Bron Breakker. Breakker says that The Judgment Day (Finn Balor, Dominik, Carlito, Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez) is Penta's business and that he will beat Penta in the center of the ring and retain the WWE Intercontinental Championship "because the dogs are barkin' in Glasgow [, Scotland]."

Bron Breakker retains the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Penta by disqualification. During the match, "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio and Carlito show up to stand in Penta's corner. Near the end of the match, Dominik distracts the referee so that Carlito can get involved, but Carlito eats a Spear. Dominik then hits Bron Breakker with a chop block, which ends the match. After the match, Breakker and Dominik brawl until Finn Balor shows up and hits Breakker with a metal folding chair before handing it to Dominik so that he can finish the job and join in on the beatdown. All the while, Penta has no idea what happened. All of a sudden, Dominik hands Penta the chair and tells him to hit Breakker, but he throws it at Dominik and superkicks it into Dominik's head instead. Finn Balor then assaults Penta before hitting Breakker with a metal folding chair and nailing Penta with the Coup de Grace.

Lexis King is in the ring. Lexis King talks about and says he does take advice, especially from "the biggest failure in the NFL" Brian Lee, and says that he has played by the beat of his own drum and his own rules. He then reveals that his plan to play by the rules was all a ruse, and says that "his blood does not run with that of a normie." Lexis King then takes pride in being the son of Brian Pillman, then says he never asked for this and that he never even knew his father. D'Angelo complains, then Stacks says he is just "breaking his balls." D'Angelo tells Stacks to focus on Ridge Holland tonight instead of breaking his balls.

Ridge Holland beats Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo. During the match, Shawn Spears, Brooks Jensen and Niko Vance are seen watching from the balcony. Later on in the match, Izzi Dame shows up and briefly distracts Ridge, but Ridge is able to hit Stacks with the Redeemer for the win.

Backstage, Nathan Frazer and Axiom are met by Josh Briggs and Yoshiki Inamura. Briggs gives them credit for being smart enough to know that if they squared off, it would be a one-sided beatdown. Sol Ruca and Zaria beat Tatum Paxley and Gigi Dolin.

Heyman himself admits that he has respect Cody for a long time and that Cody has proven himself to be the champion that he is supposed to be, and for that, Roman has asked him to tell Cody that he wants his title back. Heyman also reveals that Roman has declared that he is entering the 2025 men's Royal Rumble with full intention of winning and heading to WrestleMania to face Cody for the Undisputed WWE Championship once again. Before Cody can respond, Kevin Owens suddenly shows up in the crowd, saying that the only thing worse than Cody teaming up with Roman was Cody shaking hands with The Rock and Paul Heyman. He says that Cody should have let Roman Reigns' Bloodline be ripped to shreds, but he ended up hurting the whole company. Cody jumps the barricade and fights Owens in the crowd. Meanwhile, Tama Tonga and Jacob Fatu sneak up on Paul Heyman in the ring, and as Heyman is cornered, Jimmy Uso shows up and takes the fight to Tama and Jacob. She says that Nia did not bully her, and that she befriended Nia and got Nia to trust her, and that Nia thought she was a dumb blonde because she let her, which caused Nia to let her guard down so she could take the WWE Women's Championship. Tiffany then states that she is at the top and demands that respect be put on her name before Nia Jax shows up and calls Tiffany an "ungrateful little shit." She says she could kill Tiffany, then says Tiffany is only at the top because she made her. Nia congratulates Tiffany for rubbing two brain cells together to get her moment, then tells her that time is up and demands that Tiffany give the championship back before she takes it. Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for November 8, 2024

Roman Reigns and Jimmy Uso make his way to the ring to start tonight's show. Before Roman can even utter a word, "Main Event" Jey Uso makes his way to the ring. Jey says there is a lot of misunderstanding going on right now, and asks Roman and Jimmy to "hear him out." Sami Zayn then heads to the ring. The crowd chants "Sami Uso" before Sami tells Roman that the Helluva Kick to the face was not on purpose and that he showed up at Crown Jewel for Jey. He then admits that he is here for more than because Jey asked him to be here and that it has been a long time since he and Roman and that he has thought about what he would do if that happened, but when it was just the four of them for a minute, it was special. He says that it felt like a special time with family, and while there has been a lot that has happened, he still has a soft spot for their time together, and that he knows that they all felt it. Sami says they are all in the ring right now now because Roman wants all of this back, and that while people think the opposite of love is hate, the real opposite is indifference, and he feels Roman feels less than indifferent and even loves him. Roman smirks a little bit, and Sami says that he knew it, and brings up all the good times they had together before putting the ball in Roman's court. He says that if Roman wants him to turn around and leave, he will do it, but he knows Roman wants them all together again. Sami says that if he wants that, then he will also do that, on the condition that Roman apologizes. When Roman asks if Sami wants an apology to him, Sami also says that Roman has to apologize to Jey. Roman apologizes to Jey for letting him waste his time with Sami, saying Sami is not blood, honorary or an Uso. He says it is about Solo, not Sami, and calls Solo out so they can handle business. Sami Zayn leaves, then Jacob Fatu shows up on the Mini-Tron and says there is the Tribal Chief and everyone else, with Roman being "everybody else." He says Solo will show up when he chooses to, and that at the end of the day, Roman will acknowledge that.

Elimination Chamber is Saturday, March 1st!

Backstage, "Main Event" Jey Uso catches up with Roman Reigns and Jimmy Uso, but Roman wants to know he cares for Sami Zayn when he means nothing to them and to join Sami if he cares that much. When Roman takes this as Jey questioning him, Jey says that was Roman's one pass and walks away. When Jimmy asks what he is doing, Roman takes this as Jimmy questioning him, too, and tells him that he can go join his brother.

Bayley beats Candice LeRae.

Backstage, Johnny Gargano congratulates The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley) on becoming champions, then tells them to punch Grayson Waller in the face tonight. After the Machine Guns leave, Tommaso Ciampa - who does not have as good as a relationship with the Machine Guns as Gargano - shows up and says the Machine Guns took their titles and their spot and that they need to know that. Randy Orton then makes his way to the ring.

The Buffalo Bills American football team is in the front row.

Randy Orton is in the ring. He says that Crown Jewel was only the beginning before calling out Kevin Owens for a fight. Owens is held back by officials wearing a "Kevin Is Right" tank top, and he turns around at first before heading to the ring. Orton and Owens brawl, and more officials show up to stop everything. Owens hits Orton with a piledriver, which stops the brawl. Medical help is called out for Orton, and two EMT's show up with a stretcher. Orton is put on a stretcher, and Cody Rhodes and Corey Graves have to help Orton to the ambulance. Orton is moaning in pain on the way to the ambulance, and Cody joins Orton on the ride to the hospital.

#DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) beat Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson and Elton Prince) without Ciampa ever tagging in Gargano, who is concerned for Ciampa after the match.

Backstage, Tiffany Stratton mocks Candice LeRae for losing before Nia Jax shows up wanting to know if Tiffany Stratton set up a match against Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair tonight. As Tiffany says this can help them really run the place, Candice mocks Nia for losing at Crown Jewel. Nia tells Tiffany that her plan had better work.

Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill beat Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton after Candice LeRae tries to help Nia and Tiffany out only for Tiffany to yell at her and Naomi to show up and attack her. Nia attacks Naomi only to be superkicked by Jade, and Bianca hits Tiffany with the K.O.D. for the win.

The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley) beat A-Town Down Under (Grayson Waller and Austin Theory). (The match takes the place of this week's scheduled episode of The Grayson Waller Effect, which has been cancelled by General Manager Nick Aldis to cut straight to the chase and make the match happen.)

UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Alex Pereira is seen in the crowd.

It is announced that Randy Orton is being evaluated for "undisclosed cervical injuries."

Backstage, #DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) confronts The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley). All of a sudden, The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins, Montez Ford, B-Fab) show up, and B-Fab and Montez Ford announce that they have a title match. Ciampa is furious. The Motor City Machine Guns, however, are not flustered, and Dawkins says they will see how the Machine Guns handle real pressure.

General Manager Nick Aldis reveals a new championship: the WWE Women's United States Championship, which he says will be earned by anyone who is willing to go above and beyond to seize the moment.

The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, Jacob Fatu) make their way to the ring. After Solo Sikoa demands that the crowd acknowledge him, Roman Reigns shows up and heads to the ring. Solo demands that Roman acknowledge him as his undisputed Tribal Chief, but Roman asks the fans if they acknowledge him before everyone boos Solo. Roman says that he does not and will never acknowledge Solo, and that he is here to challenge him one-on-one, with the winner being the only Tribal Chief. Solo laughs and says he does not have to fight him, as he is already the Tribal Chief and the fans acknowledge him, and that Roman cannot be a Tribal Chief without a tribe. Solo then challenges Roman to find four other people who will team up with him so that they can go to war. Roman, seeing that this is leading to a WarGames Match, says he only sees four of them. Solo counters by saying that Sami Zayn is his fifth man, and Sami Zayn shows up only for The Bloodline to attack Roman. The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) run into the ring to save Roman, but the numbers game takes over. Solo is about to go for the Samoan Spike on Roman when he demands Sami come to the ring and kick Roman in the face. Solo gets kicked instead, and Jacob Fatu gets a Superman Punch and a Helluva Kick. Roman hits Solo with a Spear, and The Usos raise a finger before Sami does the same. Roman joins in, and the original Bloodline is reunited.

Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for October 18, 2024

The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, Jacob Fatu) heads to the ring to start tonight's show. Solo says The Bloodline is "the present and the future" and that he is the Tribal Chief, and that he has a crated a bigger and stronger family and Bloodline. He says that Roman Reigns and Jimmy Uso cannot do anything about it, and that "Main Event" Jey Uso wants nothing to do with it. He says Roman will continue to get beat down unless he comes down to the ring by the end of the night and acknowledges him. "Main Event" Jey Uso suddenly shows up from out of the crowd and heads to the ring, then says he is not out here to fight Solo, for at the end of the day, he still cares about him. Jey says he just wants to talk to Solo one-on-one and tells him to think about what he is doing to the family and The Bloodline, as while nobody has bigger issues with Roman, he became his own man, and it paid off. He says that fighting over the ula fala is not the way to do it, as it is earned and not taken, and Solo knows better. He says that if he wants to end Roman's power, then he should do it without dividing the family. Solo asks Jey if he is done wasting him time before proclaiming that he is trying to unite the family, then tells Jey to stop calling him "little brother," as he is the Tribal Chief and he has room for him and Roman if they just acknowledge him. He also says he does not want Jey to follow Jimmy's footsteps due to where it got him before asking Jey if is he is in or out. Jey asks Solo why he had to get Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa and Jacob Fatu if he wanted to unite the family, as there is a reason he and Roman stayed away from them, then threatens to knock Jacob out if he keep staring at him. Jey then tells Solo that the next time he sees him, things will be different. Solo has to hold Jacob back.

#DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) beats Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson and Elton Prince) and The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) in a WWE Tag Team Championship #1 Contender's qualifier. Ciampa pins Wilson, and Montez pins Prince, but Wilson was the legal man for his team, and that gives #DIY the victory and the ability to qualify.

Backstage, Roman Reigns and Jimmy Uso arrive at the arena and suddenly meets "Main Event" Jey Uso. Jey tries to leave, but Roman stops him and tells him that the family is proud of him. Jey says "No yeet," then leaves. Roman then tells Jimmy "I told you."

Backstage, Nia Jax finds out from Tiffany Stratton on the phone that Tiffany has the flu, and General Manager Nick Aldis tells Nia that she will need another tag partner. Indi Hartwell and Candice LeRae show up, with Candice offering to take Tiffany's place, and after Aldis makes it official, Nia demands Candice hold up her end of the bargain or else she will destroy her.

Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill are seen in the front row before the next match.

Lash Legend beats Piper Niven after Jakara Jackson puts a stop to Chelsea Green's distraction.

Backstage, Jimmy Uso meets with Roman Reigns and tells him that he needs to talk to "Main Event" Jey Uso. Roman says Jey made it clear, then says it is time to do things his way and that he will fix things tonight. Jimmy asks him how he will do that, and Roman says he will acknowledge Solo Sikoa.

"The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes heads to the ring. Cody says that the next leader does not always look like the last one, but when it comes to the Crown Jewel Championship, it is all about being the first one. He poses some "what if" scenarios where world champions from different companies faced each other, then says there will be a definitive Crown Jewel champion. Cody says he will not disparage Gunther, as he is widely respected by peers and legends alike and many are terrified of him, yet he is not terrified, and even if he was, he would not bet against himself leaving as Crown Jewel Champion. Cody admires the look of the championship, then says beauty is only skin deep, and says that when he came back to WWE, he wanted to take "the John Cena schedule," and he has done that and then some and he is not finished yet. He then says that he is leaving Crown Jewel as champion because he wants his daughter to know that he was the first to be champion, then invites Gunther to stand in the ring with him next week to ask him his reasons for wanting the title.

We see footage from after Bad Blood where Kevin Owens attacks "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes near Cody's tour bus.

We hear from Kevin Owens. He says he has been in WWE for over ten years and that while he has had a lot of ups and downs in that time, it has never felt as bad as it is right now. He says he has been told not to come to SmackDown after what he did to Cody Rhodes and calls it "unfair and ridiculous," and it makes him realize how appreciated and valued by the company. He also says he cannot believe that Randy Orton betrayed him and that he cannot get over it, and while people can say what they want to say, he would never had done that to Orton. Owens says he thought what they had was different and that he cannot believe Orton picked Cody over him, and that with everything going on, he does not know "if or when" he can come back.

Backstage, General Manager Nick Aldis is met by Randy Orton. Orton says he wants to get his hands on Kevin Owens at Crown Jewel, but Aldis says this is something he cannot do right now because of upper management. Orton says that he knows who he needs to talk to, then leaves.

The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley) beat Legado del Fantasma (Berto and Garza) and A-Town Down Under (Grayson Waller and Austin Theory) in a WWE Tag Team Championship #1 Contender's qualifier and in their WWE debut.

Backstage, Byron Saxton interviews Andrade and Carmelo Hayes. Both men start arguing, then fighting, and officials have to restore order. Carmelo grabs his chain, then wraps it around his hand and punches out Andrade.

Nia Jax and Candice LeRae beats Bayley and Naomi after Indi Hartwell shoves Bayley into the ring post behind the referee's back.

Backstage, General Manager Nick Aldis says Carmelo Hayes and Andrade have been escorted out of the building, then says that their seventh match needs a special guest referee who hates both men equally. LA Knight shows up and says he has beaten both men twice, and if Aldis wants him to referee, he will do it and he will call it down for the middle, for whoever wins will see their championship chances go up in smoke.

Roman Reigns heads to the ring. After Roman asks the crowd to acknowledge him, perhaps for the last time, Solo Sikoa shows up and heads to the ring. Roman mentions Solo telling "Main Event" Jey Uso that the family and The Bloodline (Solo, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, Jacob Fatu) is stronger now, then states that he does not see anything that tells him that they are better off; if anything, they are divided and broken. Roman says that he told his father that he can fix this, and all he wants to do is put them back in the promised land with titles around their waists and paydays coming from the heavens, and asks what he has to do. Solo says that all Roman has to do is acknowledge him, and Roman says "I acknowledge you." Solo says that is not good enough, and demands he acknowledge him as Tribal Chief or else. Roman screams "Or else what?" Solo laughs, saying Roman has never changed, and because of that, he will never change, either. He then snaps his fingers, and the rest of The Bloodline show up carrying out a beaten-down Jimmy Uso. Solo tries to take out Roman, but Roman fights back, and when The Bloodline rushes at him, he also takes them down, and Solo gets a Superman Punch when he gets back in the ring. Roman then notices the ula fala, and as he puts it on, Solo hits him with a low blow from behind before The Bloodline overpowers Roman. Solo then hits Roman with the Samoan Spike, then hits another one on Roman while he is down before Jacob Fatu places the ula fala around Solo's neck.

This week on The SmackDown Lowdown: #DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa)! The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley)! Meta-Four (Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson) (and Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill)!

She then says she does not have to drink alone, as her friendship with Cora Jade is back on. Cora heads to the ring and says she had to sit at home for nine months and hear everyone's praises for the NXT women's division while her name was left out. Cora says that this pissed her off and that she promised to make everyone pay for forgetting her when she returned, and when Giulia fought for the title, nobody - not even Roxanne - saw it coming. She says that the young girl trying to make it in NXT is now the woman who will make NXT, and that Roxanne deserves to be champion, and that this is the version of Roxanne that she knew Roxanne would be, which is why their friendship is being mended. Roxanne says she wished she listened to Cora, as she just wanted her to look out for herself, and while the NXT Championship shattered their friendship, it may be the one thing to bring them back together. Giulia shows up, and when Roxanne dares her to get in the ring, Stephanie Vaquer shows up and stands alongside Giulia before she and Giulia brawl with Cora and and Roxanne in the ring and quickly clean house. Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for September 13, 2024

WWE Chief Content Officer Paul "Triple H" Levesque heads to the ring to start tonight's show. Triple H says it feels like only yesterday when he was facing The Rock in the main event of the first-ever episode, and now, 25 years later, he stands in the ring before "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes defends the Undisputed WWE Championship in a steel cage. He welcomes to the show, then pyro goes off at the stage before the steel cage lowers.

"The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes retains the Undisputed WWE Championship against Solo Sikoa in a steel cage match. After the match, the rest of The Bloodline (Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, Jacob Fatu) climbs into the ring, and Solo hits Cody with a Samoan Spike before The Bloodline goes on the attack. After a moonsault off the top rope, Jacob Fatu goes for another off the top of the cage at the behest of Solo. All of a sudden, Roman Reigns shows up. Roman gets in the ring and shuts the cage door before fighting off Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa with the greatest of ease. He is soon attacked from behind by Solo Sikoa. Solo goes for a running hip attack in the corner, but Roman counters with a Superman Punch. Jacob Fatu pulls Solo out of the cage as Roman calls for the Spear. Roman then dares Jacob to get in the ring with him, and Jacob gets in the ring and shuts the cage door behind him. As he is about to fight Roman, Solo pulls Jacob out, and Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa attack Roman again. At this point, Cody Rhodes gets back up and makes the save for Roman, hitting Tama Tonga with the Cross Rhodes so that Roman can hit Tonga Loa with the Spear. Roman and Solo have a staredown from across the ring.

Backstage, Cathy Kelley interviews General Manager Nick Aldis says tonight is off to a rough start and that both Cody Rhodes and The Bloodline have been sequestered in their locker rooms. He also says that Solo Sikoa has proposed another match, then says that tonight is a long way from being over.

We look back on past SmackDown moments.

Kevin Owens' tag team partner for the next match is revealed to be West Coast-area independent wrestler "Rockin'" Ricky Gibson. Owens gives Ricky a Stunner, then Randy Orton shows up.

Kevin Owens and Randy Orton beat A-Town Down Under (Grayson Waller and Austin Theory) with stereo draping DDT's followed by stereo RKO's.

Backstage, Cathy Kelley interviews General Manager Nick Aldis, who has a contract in his hands. Aldis announces that Solo has proposed a tag team match at Bad Blood, with Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu facing Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns. As he says that Solo and Jacob have already signed, Cody shows up and says he is done with The Bloodline. Cody says that The Bloodline is Roman Reigns' problem and that he has no intention of signing the contract. Aldis says he will have to speak with Roman.

We look back on more classic SmackDown moments.

Booker T, Sharmell, Sheamus and Michael P.S. Hayes are seen in the crowd.

Nia Jax heads to the ring. After the commercial break, Nia Jax says that ever since she has returned to the WWE, the women's division has realized why she is "The Irresistible Force" and has a good reason to fear her. She then announces that General Manager Nick Aldis has told her that she will be defending the WWE Women's Championship at Bad Blood, then says she does not know or care who her opponent is as they will suffer the same fate as the rest when she annihilates them. Bayley shows up and heads to the ring and gives credit where credit is due to Nia Jax before saying she is happy that Nia Jax is feeling confident, as she wants her rematch. Nia tells Bayley that she is in no position to demand anything, as she runs the women's division and does not need a posse to do it. Bayley says she did not need Damage CTRL to win the title, but Nia needed Tiffany Stratton to win. Tiffany shows up, saying this is pathetic coming from Bayley and that Nia does not need to listen to her, but Bayley reminds Tiffany that she beat her last week. Tiffany says it is only because Nia got involved, which almost gets Nia mad at Tiffany. As Nia says that Bayley does not have a prayer against her, especially in a two-on-one situation, Naomi shows up and says that if they want a fight, they can have a fight. Naomi says she is not letting this happen today, then says it has been a while since she held a title and that it is time that she does it again before telling Nia to put her money where her mouth is. Nia proposes that they have a match to see who faces her at Bad Blood in a tag team match, and whoever gets the win will face her at Bad Blood. Bayley and Naomi accept the challenge. Nia and Tiffany then raise the stakes as they leave, stating that if Bayley or Naomi get pinned, whoever gets pinned has to leave SmackDown permanently. Tiffany then goes for a cheap shot after Bayley insults her, but Tiffany runs right into a Rear View by Naomi and has to be helped out of the ring by Nia Jax.

Bianca says they are excited to be here tonight and even more excited to have the women's tag titles back, and Jade says that they will take on all comers anywhere. Bianca says they will continue to defend their titles, and Jade says they will continue to win. Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton show up, and Nia says that if Naomi sticks her nose in their business, something bad will happen to her. Nia then reminds Bianca and Jade that she beat both of them to become Queen of the Ring and WWE Women's Champion.

Roman Reigns heads to the ring. After the commercial break, General Manager Nick Aldis is with him in the ring. As Aldis speaks, Roman just sticks out his hand. Aldis hands him the match contract, then Roman sticks out his other hand and Aldis gives him the microphone. Roman says some things change, but not him, and he does not need Aldis or a contact as this is Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, Jacob Fatu) business. He says he does not need a partner, not even "The American Nighmare" Cody Rhodes, and whether he has the ula fala or not, he is the Tribal Chief. He says that is not just the original Tribal Chief, but the only Tribal Chief, and that this is his ring, his show and his WWE. Suddenly, Cody Rhodes shows up and heads to the ring. Cody questions what Roman states is his, then says it was Roman's and has not been since WrestleMania. He then tosses his microphone aside, as down Roman, then Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu show up. Cody and Roman are suddenly attacked from behind by Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa, but Cody and Roman quickly clean house. Roman takes the contract and looks at it, then signs the contract. Cody then sticks his hand out for the contract, and Roman hands it to him so that he too can sign it.

Layin 'da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for September 6, 2024

"The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes heads to the ring to start tonight's show. Cody has the feeling that he is going to be interrupted tonight, and to that end, he extends an invitation to The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, Jacob Fatu), who show up. Solo asks Cody if he done playing around and ready to defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against him, as he could have been champion and would have beaten Cody had it not been for Roman Reigns. Solo demands a championship rematch, and Cody agrees that there should be a championship match, but instead of Solo, it will be against Jacob Fatu, who Cody asks to step up. Solo looks at Jacob as Jacob stands on the ring apron, and Jacob acknowledges Solo as his Tribal Chief before stepping off the ring apron. Cody admits that he will one day be looking up at the lights after losing the championship, but it will not be next week. Solo sees all this as Cody trying to turn Jacob Fatu against him, then accepts his challenge for next week before saying they do not have to wait. Solo summons the rest of The Bloodline, but The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) and #DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) show up and stand with Cody. General Manager Nick Aldis shows up and demands order under threats of fine and suspensions, and tells everyone to wait until the main event before going at it. He also makes Cody vs. Solo for the WWE Championship official for next week. Aldis then agrees that the numbers game with The Bloodline is getting old, and announces that next week's WWE Championship match will take place in a steel cage.

Backstage, Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson and Elton Prince) and Tiffany Stratton talk about the premiere of SmackDown on USA Network next week as well as the premiere of their musical when Nia Jax shows up. Pretty Deadly leaves before Nia Jax addresses Tiffany Stratton trying to cash in on her, but Tiffany chalks it up to rumours being spread by Chelsea Green. Tiffany asks Nia if she will be in her corner, and Nia says she will help her like Tiffany did last week.

Backstage, Kevin Owens is met by A-Town Down Under (Grayson Waller and Austin Theory), who make fun of Owens for losing to Cody Rhodes and ready about Wayne Gretzky on the nearby wall. Apollo Crews beats a re-debuting Giovanni Vinci in a matter of seconds with a crucifix pin as Vinci is taking off his jacket.

Backstage, Chelsea Green and Piper Niven chew out General Manager Nick Aldis when "Michin" Mia Yim shows up. When Chelsea decides to give Michin a hard time, Michin reminds Chelsea of what recently happened on NXT, and that leads to Aldis making a match between Michin and Chelsea.

Edmonton Oilers right-winger Corey Perry is seen in the crowd.

Kevin Owens beats Austin Theory and Grayson Waller in a Triple Threat Match with a Stunner to Theory that launches Theory into the air. After the match, Grayson attacks Owens from behind, and Theory joins in. Together, they both lay Owens out.

We see a video package of the feud between Andrade and Carmelo Hayes.

Michael Cole and Corey Graves thank Fox on behalf of WWE for the last five years. We then look back to the Fox season premiere from October 4, 2019 as well as the last five years.

LA Knight heads to the ring. Knight brags about having two successful title defenses and crossing borders while doing it, then says that he will not let anyone beat him for the United States Championship before Carmelo Hayes shows up. Carmelo says that if anyone should be bragging, it should be him, as he has been putting SmackDown on his back and stealing the show while LA Knight keeps running his mouth. He also brags that he is two matches up on Andrade and is next in line for the United States title, then Knight says he has as many title defenses in one month as Logan Paul had in ten. As they both argue, Andrade shows up. Andrade says Carmelo may have beaten him twice, but he has also beaten Carmelo twice, but Carmelo says nobody remembers that. Andrade says everybody remembers, then asks Carmelo if he thinks he deserves a United States title shot when he is the one to deserve it. LA Knight says he is a busy man, and proposes that the two of them fight over who is the next man he drops on their head. Andrade says he was once United States Champion and will be again in Spanish, but LA Knight takes offense to that. Carmelo shoves Andrade into LA Knight, and Andrade boots Carmelo in the face before Knight takes Andrade out. Knight pretends to leave, and as Carmelo yells at a downed Andrade, Knight returns and gives Carmelo a BFT.

Angelo Dawkins says that if they have to team with DIY to become tag team champions, then so be it.

Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for August 23, 2024

It's time for The Grayson Waller Effect to start tonight's show. Tonight's guest is "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes. Grayson stops Cody's intro before it can reach its second "whoa," then tells Cody to get in the ring so they can start the show already. Grayson also interrupts Cody's "Whaddya wanna talk about?" catchphrase and accuses Cody of making everything about him, then asks what kind of friend Cody is getting all the glory while Kevin Owens and Randy Orton keep getting beaten up. Cody says Owens' championship shot is not charity, and says that Owens has not stopped fighting despite everything he has been through with The Bloodline, and that he would not be sitting here as WWE Champion without Owens. He says that he has not once even used Owens, then asks if Grayson can say the same, asking if he is really friends with Austin Theory or is just using him. Grayson takes offense to Cody trying to convince Theory, and says that he and Theory will never turn on each other before showing off a video package of Kevin Owens that makes it look like Owens is going to turn on Cody like he did others. As Grayson says that Owens does not look like a good friends to him, Owens suddenly shows up and says he cannot stand in the back any longer, and says that everyone in the video except Kofi Kingston had it coming. He says that he and Cody are already good friends, then asks General Manager Nick Aldis to come out and make a tag team match between the team of Cody and Owens and A-Town Down Under (Grayson and Theory). Aldis does just that, then Owens then asks for permission to start a brawl. Aldis tells him to make it, and A-Town Down Under get a beatdown.

Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for August 9, 2024

"The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes heads to the ring to start tonight's show. Cody says that all eyes are on what happens next as he calls the Undisputed WWE Championship "the North Star of the industry" and is wanting to know who he will defend against at Bash In Berlin. The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Tanga Loa) shows up, and Solo Sikoa says he does not care what Cody wants to talk about or what the fans want to hear, and says he would be champion had it not been for Roman Reigns. Solo demands a championship rematch, but Cody says he could not get the job done, got Jacob Fatu hurt, caused Roman Reigns to go on a warpath when he cosplayed as Tribal Chief, and got himself beaten in the middle of the ring. Cody then says Solo is delusional if he thinks he has any claims to a rematch, and The Bloodline soon approach Cody. Suddenly, Kevin Owens shows up with two metal folding chairs and hands one to Cody. The Bloodline soon back off. Solo says that the title will be his after he finds Roman Reigns, and Cody says he will be right here waiting for him. Afterwards, Cody tells Owens he wants to talk to him about something, and Owens re-enters the ring. Cody admits that what he is about to mention will be awkward, then mentions that he would like to face Owens for the Undisputed WWE Championship. Owens says he appreciates it, but he does not deserve a title match, as he has done nothing to earn one. The fans soon chant that Owens deserve it, and Cody says that he and the fans have not forgotten the sacrifices that Owens has made. He says that Owens is still the prizefighter in the prime of his career, and that he is about to talk with General Manager Nick Aldis about why Owens deserves a title match, and that Aldis will see what he and the fans see and he will see him at Bash In Berlin.

Backstage, Byron Saxton interviews The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) and B-Fab. B-Fab says The Street Profits are more than eager; they are motivated, determined and on point. Dawkins says it has been three years since they held championship gold and that A-Town Down Under (Grayson Waller and Austin Theory) are in the way.

Backstage, Kevin Owens shows up as "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes speaks with General Manager Nick Aldis about giving Owens a shot at the Undisputed WWE Championship. When Aldis says that it is a moot point as he is considering giving a title shot to Roman Reigns, Kevin Owens is flabbergasted, saying Roman is only getting it because of a rematch clause, and that he never got a rematch when he lost the Universal Championship. After Owens states that virtually anybody in the locker room is more deserving of a title shot, Aldis says that he and the fans both see what Cody sees in Owens and that Owens has gotten a title shot at Bash In Berlin.

Backstage, as Tiffany Stratton plans her party for next week, Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson and Elton Prince) show up and ask Tiffany to plan their party for when they win the WWE Tag Team titles. Tiffany leaves, claiming he is busy, then runs into Chelsea Green and Piper Niven. Chelsea says she can see through Tiffany and knows she plans on cashing in on Nia Jax, but Tiffany calls Chelsea arrogant, oblivious and delusional and whips her hair at her as she leaves.

Knight says SummerSlam has come and gone, and that Logan Paul deserved to be stomped out and that he has arrived. Knight says the United States title makes him a marked man, but he has always been a marked man, that the game is still the same, and that he will hit it and quit it with each new challenger that comes his way. Suddenly, Legado del Fantasma shows up, and Santos Escobar congratulates LA Knight on winning the United States Championship and getting a taste of gold. He then says that LA Knight as a champion does not fit and that it will be a fleeting moment and an opening act to his championship reign, as it is "a fact of life" that he is the one who truly deserves to be United States Championship with everyone saying "Escobar, Si!" Knight says Escobar deserves to have the break beaten off of him one more time, and that nobody is taking the United States Championship off of him because he is not letting them.

The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa) then head to the ring. Solo tells Roman Reigns that he is the Tribal Chief now, and if Roman calls himself the Tribal Chief and wants the Ula Fala back, then he can come and get him. Roman Reigns shows up, and Tama Tonga rushes at Roman only to get taken down. Tonga Loa goes after Roman only to be thrown into and smashed with the ring steps alongside Tama Tonga. Roman then gets in the ring with Solo, and the two of them brawl. Roman comes out on top with the Superman Punch, and Roman goes for the Spear only for Tonga Loa to save Solo. Solo leaves the Ula Fala behind, and as Roman takes it, he is attacked from behind by Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa, allowing Solo to take the Ula Fala back. Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa both receive Superman Punches as Solo retreats, and Roman hits Tonga Loa with the Spear. Roman then hits Tama Tonga with a Spear on the outside, and plows him straight through the barricade before grabbing a metal folding chair and smacking Tonga Loa in the back with it while Solo declares he is Tribal Chief now and dares Roman to get the Ula Fala.
