Generation NXT - NXT recap for October 8, 2024

Trick Williams heads to the ring to start tonight's show. Trick says that NXT is reaching new heights in new cities on a new network, then declares that he is now a two-time NXT Champion. As he says that sharks have his eyes on his title, Wes Lee shows up in the rafters and congratulates Trick before saying nobody wants to see him celebrate for two hours, and proclaims that since he now has dead weight off his shoulders, he wants to be a Triple Crown champ. As Trick tells Wes that is not going to happen, Wes Lee says that Trick is the face of NXT and that he "ain't it," and that he will be the one to take the title away and leave him in the dust like Carmelo Hayes did before he even gets comfortable with it. Suddenly, "Main Event" Jey Uso shows up from out of the crowd and celebrates with Trick Williams, then get a "Whoop That Trick, Yeet" chant going after Trick says he will whup Wes Lee. Kelani Jordan, Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair then show up for the next match, and before the commercial break, five champions representing four titles across WWE are in the ring.

Backstage, Nathan Frazer and Axiom are met by Randy Orton, who wants to know how fast Je'Von Evans is. Frazer says Je'Von is not the fastest when Axiom claims he is, saying he is faster. As Axiom apologizes for Frazer's words, Randy says that it is not always bad to be hot-headed and that sometimes one must find a dark place. Frazer decides to take that advice and run with it.

Backstage, Sarah Schreiber interviews Giulia when an old friend interrupts from out of camera shot.

Roxanne Perez heads to the ring. Roxanne says that once again, the fans are disappointed while she still stands at NXT Women's Champion due to Giulia losing, then says the fans will prop someone else up while she drinks the fans' tears. She then says she does not have to drink alone, as her friendship with Cora Jade is back on. Cora heads to the ring and says she had to sit at home for nine months and hear everyone's praises for the NXT women's division while her name was left out. Cora says that this pissed her off and that she promised to make everyone pay for forgetting her when she returned, and when Giulia fought for the title, nobody - not even Roxanne - saw it coming. She says that the young girl trying to make it in NXT is now the woman who will make NXT, and that Roxanne deserves to be champion, and that this is the version of Roxanne that she knew Roxanne would be, which is why their friendship is being mended. Roxanne says she wished she listened to Cora, as she just wanted her to look out for herself, and while the NXT Championship shattered their friendship, it may be the one thing to bring them back together. Giulia shows up, and when Roxanne dares her to get in the ring, Stephanie Vaquer shows up and stands alongside Giulia before she and Giulia brawl with Cora and and Roxanne in the ring and quickly clean house. The two of them notice the NXT Women's Championship and pick it up at the same time before looking at both Roxanne and Cora.

Backstage, Wren Sinclair says that next week, she will show Stephanie Vaquer what NXT is all about. Charlie Dempsey says this is what No Quarter Catch Crew (Dempsey, Myles Borne, Tavion Heights, Sinclair) needs, then notices Lexis King watching his match with Oro Mensah. Lexis asks Dempsey about a type of match where Oro cannot cheat, and Dempsey proposes a "gentleman's duel."

Tony D'Angelo beats Oba Femi to become the NXT North American Champion after countering a choke slam with a Sunset Flip.

In backstage footage from last week, referees have to break up a brawl between Lola Vice and Jaida Parker. Backstage, Lola Vice meets with NXT General Manager Ava, wanting a match with Jaida Parker. Nikkita Lyons suddenly shows up, and Lola Vice tells Nikkita that she is talking and threatens to put her back on the shelf after Nikkita tells her to calm down. Ava has to stand between them before things get worse.

Backstage, Sarah Schreiber interviews Ridge Holland, who says that he has made Chase University (Andre Chase, Thea Hail, Duke Hudson, Riley Osborne) pay the price for their mediocrity. Suddenly, he is attacked from behind by Riley Osborne, and officials have to quickly restore order.

Sexxy Red performs in the ring.

Suddenly, "All Ego" Ethan Page shows up and says the concert is cancelled for interrupting him last night on Raw, then says NXT has fallen apart ever since he lost the NXT Championship last week and that he is not leaving until he gets his title rematch. As he does, he also mentionis Wes Lee wanting a shot at the title and Je'Von Evans thinking he is worthy of facing Randy Orton, and this causes Je'Von Evans to show up. Ethan Page says he does not give a damn if Je'Von's match is next, and Je'Von beats Ethan Page up before celebrating with Sexxy Red.

We see a vignette the woman in red from last week's highway vignette, and this time she beats multiple women up before heading further into a ruined city. The NXT logo is seen on top of a skyscraper.

Randy Orton beats Je'Von Evans. After the match, Orton helps Je'Von up and raises his hand in a sign of good sportsmanship.

Backstage, General Manager Ava is in her office with Wes Lee and "All Ego" Ethan Page. She pits the two of them in a match where the winner is the #1 contender for the NXT Championship, then adds Je'Von Evans to the match to make it a Triple Threat Match based on Je'Von's performance tonight.
