Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for October 11, 2024

Jimmy Uso heads to the ring to start tonight's show. Jimmy says that he had been out of action for six months thanks to Solo Sikoa's Bloodline jumping him from behind, and tonight, it is big brother versus little brother, and he plans on kicking Solo's ass. Roman Reigns shows up and heads to the ring, and Jimmy hands him the microphone upon request. Roman says he usually likes to run things systematically, but he has decided to change things up tonight, and asks the fans to join him in acknowledging "Big Jim." He says he understands where Jimmy is coming from, but he is not an older brother or a wiseman - yet - as he does not understand the revenge or come up with the creative plans; he is a Tribal Chief and he takes what is his. He says that his Bloodline did just that for four years and that he called his shots and they delivered and had it all: the money, the power, the respect, the fear from others and the championships. Roman then says he does not like their position right now and that he does not like the lack of power or control, then says he meant it when he said he was best of all time, and when he steps in the arena, he wants everyone to know that "The Ones" are here. Jimmy says "But we not, though," to which the fans chant "Yes, you are!" Jimmy asks how when they stand in the ring and he sees a chief with no championship or ula fala, and that he came back at Bad Blood because Roman needed him. He says that Roman did not even ask him, and that he knows they need help as well as the one person they can get help from. The fans chant "Yeet!", but Roman says "No yeet." Jimmy says Roman will always be his Tribal Chief, but he is the only one in the family that still acknowledges him.

LA Knight retains the WWE United States Championship against Carmelo Hayes. Andrade shows up to watch from ringside during the match. After the match, Andrade mocks Carmelo for losing, telling him to "put the fries in the bag."

Backstage, Jimmy Uso meets with "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes, who thanks him for the help on Saturday. Jimmy tells Cody not to expect anymore help, then both acknowledge that the other is handling business well.

We see a vignette for Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson, who want the women's tag titles around their waists.

Before the next match, Kevin Owens shows up despite not being told not to be here tonight, then says he turned on "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes because Cody turned on him. His microphone is cut as officials show up, then takes Corey's headset and further explains himself before Cody shows up. General Manager Nick Aldis shows up with security to keep both Cody and Owens separated, and Randy Orton shows up to reason with both Cody and Owens, but has to help security with Owens instead. Owens elbows Orton, and Orton responds by punching Owens in the face. Owens walks away through the crowd.

Trick Williams is seen in the front row. Chelsea Green and Piper Niven are seen at ringside.

Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill retain the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships against Meta-Four (Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson) after Chelsea Green distracts Lash Legend and gets pump kicked by Lash for it.

Backstage, Randy Orton tells "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes to calm down and leave while he fixes things around here, and General Manager Nick Aldis tells Cody that he needs him focused for Gunther at Crown Jewel. Aldis thanks Orton for being the voice of reason.

Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton head to the ring. Nia says that as WWE Women's Champion, she has a very busy agenda, then gives credit to Bayley for putting up a hell of a fight at Bad Blood even though she ended up on her back all other worthy contenders. She says that nobody can beat her, not even Liv Morgan, and at Crown Jewel, she will annihilate Liv like she has everyone else, and when she becomes Women's Crown Jewel Champion, it's Tiffy Time. She says this after grabbing Tiffany around the neck, then says when that happens, Tiffany will cash in on Liv Morgan. Naomi shows up and says Nia Jax is only champion because Tiffany helped her again, and that Nia cannot win without her, even though she pinned Tiffany just like she pinned Nia. Nia reminds Naomi that it took her and Bayley to pin, and asks her if she needs a partner to beat her again. Naomi says she does not need anybody to beat her, and that she can beat her right here and right now. Nia then demands General Manager Nick Aldis to send a referee to the ring and make the match official. A referee shows up to make the match official, then Raquel Rodriguez, Liv Morgan and "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio show up. Liv says they are here to embarrass Nia, then says they might as well watch Nia lose tonight just like she will lose at Crown Jewel. Nia shoves Naomi in anger before the show cuts to a commercial break.

Naomi beats Nia Jax after Raquel Rodriguez stops Tiffany Stratton from hitting Naomi with the Money In The Bank briefcase before distracting the referee so that Liv can hit Nia with the briefcase. After the match, Rhea Ripley shows up and attacks Raquel Rodriguez. Liv Morgan flees into the ring only to be grabbed by Nia, and Rhea boots Nia before attacking Liv. Dominik distracts Rhea so that Raquel can save Liv.

Backstage, Carmelo Hayes confronts Nick Aldis concerning Andrade's appearance at ringside during his match. Aldis makes a seventh match between Carmelo and Andrade, with the winner becoming number one contender for the United States title. Carmelo leaves after Aldis tells him not to miss, then Legado del Fantasma then shows up, and Santos Escobar says that Andrade and Carmelo seem to have a permanent spot as #1 contender. He then states that he is looking for opportunities for the rest of Legado del Fantasma (Elektra Lopez, Humberto, Garza). Aldis says that Los Garza has a match against a special team next week, and if they beat them, they will be worthy of a tag team title shot. Escobar is pleased as Legado del Fantasma leaves and says Aldis will not regret this, but after they leaves, Aldis says that Escobar might.

We hear from Solo Sikoa, who says that while Jimmy Uso might be his big brother, he is his Tribal Chief tonight, and he will acknowledge him.

We see another vignette with fast cards. This time, there is a rock band playing, and there is also graffiti. We then see the words "Next week."

Backstage, General Manager Nick Aldis gets between #DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) and The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford), telling them both that they had their shot at the tag team titles and that he has a new team coming next week, but both teams only argue more loudly. All of a sudden, Nick Aldis notices an attack outside, and it ends up being Kevin Owens attacking Randy Orton, who Owens accusing of "picking sides." Aldis calls for security to get Owens out of the area before calling for medical help for Orton.

Solo Sikoa beats Jimmy Uso after Tama Tonga distracts the ref and Tonga Loa trips Jimmy off the top rope. After the match, Tama and Loa attack Jimmy, then Roman Reigns shows up and hits Jacob Fatu with a Superman Punch at the ramp before taking out Tama and Loa. Solo and Roman brawl, but Jacob quickly attacks Roman from behind. Roman is ganged up on by The Bloodline, and Solo hits Roman with the Samoan Spike to end the show. Jimmy tells Roman that they need help afterwards.
