Raw Deal - Raw recap for October 21, 2024

Backstage, "Big" Bronson Reed is attacked from behind by Seth "Freakin'" Rollins. General Manager Adam Pearce and referees have to restore order, and Rollins is able to head to the ring to start tonight's show. Rollins wastes no time in calling out Bronson Reed for a fight so he can make him famous, then General Manager Adam Pearce shows up to tell Rollins this is not happening before Bronson Reed overpowers everyone on his way to the ring. Rollins hits Bronson with a tope suicida, but Bronson starts giving Rollins a beatdown. Both Rollins and Bronson are held back, but the brawl continues, even as Bronson is stopped from hitting a Tsunami. Bronson clears off the announces table and fights off security, throwing one guard who gets on top of him into everyone else, before going for a splash and flattening only the table when Rollins rolls out of the way. Rollins and Bronson are finally kept away from each other by officials and security.

Backstage, Jackie Redmond interviews Damage CTRL (Iyo Sky and Kairi Sane). Iyo Sky says they will soon become Women's Tag Team Champions when Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez shows up and tells Damage CTRL to buzz off. Liv then says Nia Jax is only on her show because she is jealous of her and everything she has, and that she will have the Women's Crown Jewel Championship. Kairi Sane interrupts, but Liv tells her that she and Raquel have been women's tag champs before and can win them again any time they want. Iyo Sky takes this as an invitation to a fight, and says they can fight tonight before Raquel gets in Damage CTRL's faces while Liv accepts Iyo's challenge.

We see a video package for Bron Breakker vs. "Main Event" Jey Uso for the Intercontinental Championship later on tonight.

Before the next match, it is announced that ring announcer Samantha Irvin is moving on to new challenges, and that she is replaced tonight by long-time WWE ring announcer and alumnus Lilian Garcia.

The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) beat The Authors of Pain (Akam and Rezar) to qualify for the World Tag Team Championship #1 Contenders' Tournament. During the match, The Miz shows up to watch the match from the announce table. After the match, The Authors of Pain attack R-Truth. Kofi wants to make the save, but Woods stops him. All of a sudden, the lights go out. When the lights come back on, The Final Testament (Karrion Kross, Akam, Rezar) is attacked by The Wyatt Sicks (Erick Rowan, Dexter Lumis, Joe Gacy, Nikki Cross). To his surprise, The Miz is somehow spared as The Wyatt Sicks continue to go on the attack. This does not last long, however, as Uncle Howdy shows up for The Miz only for Paul Ellering to take the bullet for him in the form of a Mandible Claw.

Backstage, Jackie Redmond interviews General Manager Adam Pearce when "Big" Bronson Reed approaches Pearce and Seth "Freakin'" Rollins attacks Bronson again. Once again, both Rollins and Bronson have to be held back.

Backstage, Cathy Kelley interviews "Main Event" Jey Uso. Jey says he has no lover for his brothers, but he said what he said to his brothers and it is what it is. He says tonight is about the Intercontinental Championship, and by the end of the night, he will still be champion.

We hear from Raquel Rodriguez, who says that as long as she is around, Rhea Ripley will not be Women's World Champion. She says she has not forgotten how Rhea injured Liv or how she cost them the Women's Tag Team Championships. She says Rhea Ripley only rose to the top because she was gone, and that the smartest thing Rhea can do is walk away, but she will not do that. Raquel says that if Rhea will not end this, she will.

Jakara Jackson and Lash Legend are seen watching from ringside before the next match.

Damage CTRL (Iyo Sky and Kairi Sane) beat Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez after Iyo Sky fights Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson at the front row and Lash hits Iyo with a forearm. After the match, Damage CTRL brawl with Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson in the ring, and Lash and Jakara get the last word. Liv and Raquel confront Lash and Jakara, then Rhea Ripley shows up, and Lash and Jakara leave Liv and Raquel to Rhea as they leave the ring. Rhea and Raquel brawl in the ring, and Rhea sends Raquel tumbling over the top rope before getting her hands on Liv. Liv hits a Codeberaker, but eats a knee from Ripley, who soon puts her in the Prism Trap. Rhea lets go of the hold to drop kick Raquel off the ring apron, then brawls with Liv again. Rhea gets the upper hand again, then goes for Riptide only for "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio to save Liv. Rhea then gets Dominik in the ring and puts him in the Prism Trap, and Liv and Raquel have to save Dominik.

Backstage, "Big" Bronson Reed attacks Seth "Freakin'" Rollins yet again when Rollins confronts General Manager Adam Pearce. Pearce finally gets pissed and puts them in a match against each other at Crown Jewel.

It is announced that NXT will take place in the 2300 Arena - formerly the ECW Arena - in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on November 6th.

We see a vignette for War Raiders (Ivar and Erik). Ivar says they have suffered setbacks, but they rise time and time again, and look to their future without fear. Ivar says that they look to their ancestors, the Viking warriors of the past, and that everyone's time to run and hide has ended.

Backstage, Liv Morgan has to calm Raquel Rodriguez down as The Judgment Day (Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio, Carlito, Liv Morgan) comes up with a game plan. Finn Balor says he is worried about Damian Priest making another claim to the World Tag Team Championships, and Dominik wants to do something about it . Raquel wants to know what Carlito does for The Judgment Day, and Carlito says that he brings "cool" back to The Judgment Day before saying he will take care of business right now.

Trick Williams is seen in the front row.

The Latino World Order (Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee) beat American Made (Julius and Brutus Creed) to qualify for the World Tag Team Championship #1 Contenders' Tournament after Chad Gable's interference attempt backfires and Zelina Vega takes out Ivy Nile on the outside.

Backstage, General Manager Adam Pearce meets with Damage CTRL (Iyo Sky and Kairi Sane) and tells them that he will talk with the other General Managers. Damage CTRL leave, then Carlito shows up. Carlito looks at Damage CTRL and says he should learn Chinese (which make no sense as they are Japanese and have been told by racist fans in the past to "go back to China"), then tells Pearce he has the perfect challenger for Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship: "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio. Pearce laughs, saying Dominik has done nothing to deserve a shot, but Carlito asks him to give Dominik a chance. Pearce makes it happen, saying that if Dominik can beat a former World Heavyweight Champion next week, he will get his title shot.

Backstage, Jackie Redmond interviews Bron Breakker. Breakker says he is not here for a cheesesteak, but for the Intercontinental Championship, and while he respects "Main Event" Jey Uso as a champion, he is not focused, and that is why he will take his title back. He says that he is a badass and that it is time to do what badasses do.

Backstage, Cathy Kelley interviews Gunther. Gunther says he cannot understand why Cody Rhodes keeps people close to him in his business matters, saying that their match has nothing to do with family and is for the Crown Jewel Championship. He says that Cody Rhodes is one of many, while he is one of one and whatever he touches turns to gold. Damian Priest shows up and says he has no issue with Gunther, then says he will earn his shot at the World Heavyweight Champion, then tells Gunther to handle his business at Crown Jewel. Gunther is unfazed by Priest as he leaves.

Bron Breakker beats "Main Event" Jey Uso to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship for a second time. During the match, Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu show up with tickets for front row seats as well as a Jey Uso shirt. Shortly after this, Tonga Loa distracts Jey, and he gets superkicked. Tama Tonga shows up and jumps over the barricade, but he also gets superkicked. Solo Sikoa confronts Jey on the outside, and Bron Breakker goes for a Spear on the outside only for Jey to move out of the way, causing Breakker to break Solo in half. Jacob Fatu climbs over the barricade and confronts Bron Breakker, and Jey Uso takes both of them out with a tope suicida. Jey goes for the Uso Splash after this, but Breakker gets the knees up and goes for the Spear only for Jey to leap over it and superkick him multiple times before hitting a Spear of his own. Jey then hits the Uso Splash, but Bron Breakker kicks out. Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa get on the apron and distract the referee, and General Manager Adam Pearce and officials show up to send them both to the stage. Jey Uso then goes for a Spear on Breakker, but he gets superkicked by Jacob Fatu, who then hits Jey with a Samoan Drop on the announce table before helping Solo Sikoa to the back. Breakker then hits Jey with a Spear back in the ring to win the Intercontinental Championship for a second time.
