Honor Roll - Ring of Honor recap for October 10, 2024

Backstage, Lexy Nair and Billie Starkz go through the checklist for Athena's championship reign celebration when Athena shows up and puts a handcuff on Lexy Nair, and when Billie asks what is going on, Athena says that Billie can protect herself against Abadon while Lexy cannot. Billie walks away, then Lady Frost shows up and mentions that Athena is terrified of Abadon, but Athena threatens to beat Lady Frost up before accusing her of being scared of Abadon. Athena then states that Lady Frost could not last ten minutes in the ring with her, as she has proved it once and she can do it again. Lady Frost takes that as a challenge for a ROH World Women's Championship Proving Ground Match next week, then leaves. Athena is confused, and Lexy Nair has to tell Athena what she just got herself into.

Gabe Kidd retains the New Japan Pro Wrestling Strong Openweight Championship against Anthony Henry. (Near the end of this match, Henry suffers a torn bicep, which he will have to undergo surgery for.) During the match, Gabe Kidd takes a microphone and stomps Anthony Henry as he claims that nobody in the locker room can touch him. Later on in the match, Beef stops Gabe Kidd from going for a weapon from underneath the ring and gets punched for it.

Before the next match, Brandon Cutler says everyone should be thanking The Young Bucks (Matthew and Nicholas Jackson) for the Ring of Honor events and worshipping the ground that they walk on before proclaiming they will retain the All Elite Wrestling World Tag Team Championships this Saturday at WrestleDream. He then issues an open challenge to any past or present ROH champion to a match tonight, and it is answered by "The Wrestler" Katsuyori Shibata. Brandon Cutler says that Shibata cannot lay a hand on him without shaking his hand, then shakes his hand only to go for a cheap shot. The subsequent chops from Cutler have no effect, and Shibata's chops are absolutely punishing compared to Cutler's.

"The Wrestler" Katsuyori Shibata beats Brandon Cutler.

Backstage, we hear from "The Machine" Brian Cage, who says that he has handles business like a machine and taht he is focused on being one of the best wrestlers and best champions that the world has ever seen. He says that Atlantis Jr. does not even go to ROH and that the World Television Championship should not even belong to him. He then says that at Zero Hour at WrestleDream, he will correct that and claim his prize.

Billie Starkz beats Ella Elizabeth.

Shane Taylor Enterprises (Shane Taylor and "Taiga Style" Lee Moriarty) beat The Infantry ("The Captain" Shawn Dean and "Bad News and Tattoos" Carlie Bravo).

Backstage, we hear from The Dark Order (Evil Uno, John Silver, Alex Reynolds). Evil Uno says they are on a roll with big single and tag wins, and that it is time to get back to the six-man tag division. Suddenly, The Iron Savages (Boulder, Bronson, Jacked Jameson) shows up, and Jacked Jameson says they were not ready during their recent tag match. Boulder says that just because anything can happen in a tag team match, that does not mean that The Dark Order is better than them in tag team action, and that they have no shot in a six-man tag match. Bronson challenges The Dark Order to a six-man tag match. John Silver says he will kick all their asses, and Alex Reynolds says they have been where The Iron Savages have been and it got them nowhere, then syas playtime is over and they are born ready, and next time, they will kick their asses.

Red Velvet retains the ROH World Women's Television Championship against Diamanté after Diamanté hits Red Velvet in full view of the referee on the outside.

Lance Archer beats Sam Beale, then choke slams him.

Backstage, we hear from The Infantry ("The Captain" Shawn Dean, "Bad News and Tattoos" Carlie Bravo, Trish Adora). Bravo says he feels like something is off, then all of a sudden, Shane Taylor Enterprises (Shane Taylor and "Taiga Style" Lee Moriarty) shows up, and Shane Taylor asks how many times they have to do this before The Infantry gets it. Taylor says The Infantry is the greatest tag team he has ever seen and that he has watched them beat world champions and the best tag teams that ROH has to offer, yet it has gotten them nowhere and they are dead set on proving to everyone that they can wrestle. He tells The Infantry that they need to prove that they can rumble, and asks them when they will stop being good soldiers. He then tells Trish Adora that he has not forgotten their conversation and that he is a man of his word.

Ian Riccaboni and Caprice Coleman look back at KENTA vs. "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson for the ROH World Championship at Glory By Honor V in 2006.

Before the next match, "Smart" Mark Sterling states that he and The Premier Athletes (Tony Nese, Ariya Daivari, Josh Woods) are getting tired of everyone saying that they suck, states that the people of Toledo, Ohio and The Conglomeration (Mark Briscoe, Orange Cassidy, Kyle O'Reilly) suck, then gives the fans another chance to make things right only to be told they suck again.
