WrestleDream 2024 - The LIVE Results



We hear from Darby Allin, who says that tonight will not be pretty and that he wants to know how far Brody King will go. He also says that there is no way that "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson, and that one of these days, it will be the two of them for the world title.

Backstage, Arkady Aura interviews MxM Collection (Mansoor and Mason Madden). Mansoor says things got ugly during Rampage, then asks The Acclaimed ("Platinum" Max Caster and Anthony Bowens) if they are ready for their surprise third man, saying he is fabulous and will ensure MxM Collection will take their spot and end scissoring forever. All of a sudden, Rico shows up, revealing himself to be the third man.

Anna Jay beats Harley Cameron on Zero Hour.

The Acclaimed ("Platinum" Max Caster and Anthony Bowens) beat MxM Collection (Mansoor and Mason Madden) on Zero Hour after Rico is given a Famouser by "Daddy Ass" Billy Gunn.

Backstage, Mercedes Moné is confronted by Queen Aminata as Mercedes and Kamille look for their private locker room. Mercedes says she has no time for anyone like Aminata and leaves.

Tony Schavone brings out AEW founder Tony Khan as well as Antonio Inoki's grandsons Naoto Antonio and Hirota. Tony thanks everyone for being here tonight, then leads the fans in an "Ichi, Ni, San, Da!" chant.

Before the next match, "Smart" Mark Sterling says The Premier Athletes (Tony Nese, Ariya Daivari, Josh Woods) have a "WrestleDream" of the fans of Tacoma, Washington saying they rule. Instead, they say The Premier Athletes suck.

The Outrunners (Truth Magnum and Turbo Floyd) and The Conglomeration (Orange Cassidy and Kyle O'Reilly) beat The Premier Athletes (Tony Nese and Ariya Daivari) and The Dark Order (John Silver and Alex Reynolds) in an eight-man tag match on Zero Hour after The Conglomeration take out "Smart" Mark Sterling in the ring.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews "The Rainmaker" Kazuchika Okada, who is now medically cleared following his recent match with "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson. Okada says he is here to support The Elite (Matthew Jackson, Nicholas Jackson, "Scapegoat" Jack Perry), then Kyle O'Reilly, who says it is great to see Okada and that he has nothing but respect for him, then mentions that they have never been in the ring. After O'Reilly challenges Okada to a Continental Championship match, Okada says "Hell no...bitch." O'Reilly says he will have to take a different approach, then punches Okada. Security moves in and stops the brawl, then Interim Executive Vice President Christopher Daniels shows up and kicks both Okada and O'Reilly out of the building.

"Switchblade" Jay White beats "Hangman" Adam Page after a kneebreaker into the side of the entrance ramp causes Hangman's knee to buckle later on, keeping him from hitting a timely Buckshot Lariat and causing him to leap right into the Blade Runner.

"The Glamour" Mariah May retains the AEW Women's World Championship against Willow Nightingale after htiing a huge hurricanrana off the top rope, countering an avalanche powerbomb attempt by Willow.

"Scapegoat" Jack Perry retains the TNT Championship against "The Wrestler" Katsuyori Shibata after Shibata's shoulders are down on the mat during a sleeper hold. After the match, Jack Perry hits Shibata with the TNT Championship. He is about to do it again when Daniel Garcia runs into the ring and confronts Perry, who rolls out of the ring. After this, MJF shows up for the first time since he lost the International (then American) Championship, and he heads to the ring and has a staredown with Garcia until Garcia is hit from behind by Perry with the TNT Championship. MJF then decides to take advantage of the situation by hitting Garcia with a ground and pound, then telling Garcia that he has not seen him since he beat him and made several movies and several millions. He attacks Garcia again, then says that Garcia has been in a bidding war that was "about as real as the SuperSonics." He then reveals that the Dynamite Diamond Ring was in a pawn shop in Seattle, and now that he has found the ring - which he pulls out and puts on - he will kiss it. Suddenly, an uninjured Adam Cole shows up for the first time in months and runs to the ring, and MJF rolls out and flees through the crowd. Adam Cole then helps Garcia up before leaving.

Don Callis guests on commentary for the next match.

"The Alpha" Konosuke Takeshita beats Will Ospreay and Ricochet to become the AEW International Champion! During the match, Ospreay hits Takeshita with two Hidden Blades, but after the second Hidden Blade, Don Callis pulls the referee out of the ring, pulls a screwdriver out of his jacket and goes after Ospreay. Ospreay stops Callis and goes for a Tiger Driver '91, but he is attacked from behind with a screwdriver by Kyle Fletcher in a black hoodie. Takeshita then pulls his kneepad down and hits Ospreay with a knee, then Don Callis gets the referee back in the ring to give Takeshita the pin, the win and the championship. After the match, Kyle Fletcher hits Will Ospreay with a Tiger Driver '91.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Jerry Lynn and Orange Cassidy. Jerry Lynn says he has been in the business for 40 years and has seen nobody like Orange, and says that nobody has connected with the fans like him. He says that while Orange has been struggling, he has seen him step up. Jerry Lynn says that with all of the chaos going on, if Orange Cassidy really wanted to, he could be the man. Jerry leaves, then Hook shows up and tells Orange to listen to Jerry, because he is the man.

Prince Nana is in the ring. After plugging his coffee, he brings out Swerve Strickland. Swerve thanks the fans, then announces that that he still feels some pain since his last match. Before Swerve can talk about what's in store for him, MVP and Shelton Benjamin show up, and MVP says he would like to discuss his future. He says that since he has yet to hear back from Prince Nana, Swerve must be in deep thought about his future. MVP then mentions that he and Swerve have history and that he believed in Swerve before he believed in himself. He also remembers mentioning that their futures are in great hands, but now, Swerve's career seems to be floundering a little bit, and he is good and taking former champions and helping them re-ascend to the titles that they should have. MVP then proposes that they talk business, then Swerve mentions their match in Defy Wrestling from 2017 and how MVP has done what he has claimed to do, and also calls Shelton Benjamin "an inspiration." He also says he has been watching the show for the past couple of weeks, and says that MVP is not wrong before saying that he has lost his cage match with "Hangman" Adam Page, his childhood home and his championship under his watch. Swerve also says that he would not have had any of those things without Prince Nana, then goes back to addressing his history with MVP and Shelton Benjamin. He also mentions that while there are things that irk him about Prince Nana, Nana is family, and he does not turn his back on family. He tells MVP to shove his business cards up his ass, because he is not interested. Shelton says Swerve is misreading the situation, saying there is no Swerve without him and MVP, and says that he is either with them or against them. Swerve shoves Shelton, and MVP and Nana have to hold Shelton and Swerve back, respectively. Referees along with Interim Executive Vice President Christopher Daniels also have to step in to stop a potential brawl.



It is announced that Mercedes Moné will face Queen Aminata next week on Dynamite following what happened on Zero Hour.

We are introduced to Alvaro Riojas, Carlos Cabrera and Ariel Levy of the Spanish announce team.

Hologram beats The Beast Mortos in a two-out-of-three falls match two falls to one (2-1) and extends his undefeated streak to 15-0. Hologram scores the first fall with a top rope tiaras followed by a diving crucifix bomb. The Beast Mortos scores the second fall following a series of slams. Hologram scores the third and deciding fall with a Blue Thunder Bomb.

We see footage of Darby Allin at a local skatepark and skitching behind a bus before the next match.

Darby Allin beats Brody King with a Coffin Drop on Brody on top of some ring steps followed by another Coffin Drop back in the ring after Brody King barely avoids being counted out. Brody and Darby shake hands after the match.

We see a video package of Private Party (Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy) making a comeback and becoming serious, thanks to Amazing Red, before the next match. Before the next match, Matthew Jackson mocks Private Party for doing nothing of note after beating them five years ago and says that Private Party "will always be a mid-card act" and that the closest they will get to the tag team titles is smelling them. Private Party punch The Young Bucks (Matthew and Nicholas Jackson) in response, and The Young Bucks walk up the ramp and superkick Private Party as soon as they see them coming.

The Young Bucks (Matthew and Nicholas Jackson) retain the AEW World Tag Team Championships against Private Party (Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy). After the match, the fans give Private Party a standing ovation.

Jim Ross joins commentary before the next match.

Mark Briscoe retains the Ring of Honor World Championship against "The Learning Tree" Chris Jericho after Orange Cassidy and Rocky "Azucar" Romero stop interference from both "The Redwood" Big Bill and "The Bad Apple" Bryan Keith, respectively. At one point, Jericho hits the Jay Driller, but it does not give him the win, and Briscoe eventually hits the Jay Driller to win and retain at the end.

Jon Moxley beats "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson with a Gotch-style piledriver followed by a bulldog choke following a brutal match to become the AEW World Champion for a fourth time and effectively end Danielson's full-time wrestling career. After the match, The Blackpool Combat Club celebrates with Moxley, and Moxley has Claudio put the AEW World Championship in a black bag before Marina Shafir hands Moxley a plastic bag. Darby Allin and Wheeler Yuta run into the ring, with Darby carrying a metal folding chair as a weapon. The Blackpool Combat Club retreats, but Wheeler Yuta suddenly stand sup and hits Darby with a Busaiku Knee before PAC Darby and Marina ties Darby up. Moxley hands Wheeler the plastic bag, and Wheeler puts it over Danielson's head. As Darby pleads for this to stop, security rushes in, but they are attacked by The Blackpool Combat Club, as are Private Party and Jeff Jarrett. Claudio then stomps an open metal folding chair on the back of Danielson's neck, then The Blackpool Combat Club once more of the locker room is able to rush into the ring alongside security and help restore order. Danielson has to be given medical help and placed on a stretcher, and the show ends.
