Generation NXT - NXT recap for October 29, 2024

Backstage, Tatum Paxley wheels out a coffin on her way to the ring and she says that we will find out what is going on Halloween Havoc eventually.

Tatum Paxley beats Wendy Choo in a Casket Match after blasting her with a fire extinguisher, which causes Wendy to fall through a bed and break it in half.

Trick Williams heads to the ring. He talks about how he retained at Halloween Havoc and says that he is in pain after "All Ego" Ethan Page managed to put him through pain, then addresses Ridge Holland jumping him after the match. He then says that he knows that Bubba Ray Dudley is in the ring and asks him to come to the ring. Bubba Ray shows up, and Trick thanks him for having his back, but Bubba says he was just doing the right thing and it was about Ridge Holland's disrespect towards others. Bubba talks about how he heard the people cheer for Trick, and while Trick was getting beaten up, he was looking at the entranceway while one person did not show up to help Trick due to Trick being NXT Champion. He says that the title symbolizes what the locker room aspires to be and tells him that he must have eyes in the back of his head. Trick says he hears Bully, and that he wants revenge on Ethan and Ridge and he knows Bully does do. After Trick says he has never seen Bully in the ring personally until now, Trick says he wants to tag with Bully against Ethan and Ridge in the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Bully says he has only known Trick for three minutes and yet he has gotten his juices flowing and thinking about going extreme like he did back in the day, then says it is about Trick and the rest of the locker room who do it better than anyone else right now, not him. He says he cannot take anyone else's spot, and while he appreciates it, he has to say no. Backstage, General Manager Ava speaks with Rob Van Dam, who talks about his memory with Bubba Ray Dudley and is more than happy to be at the 2300 Arena. Rob Van Dam leaves, then Kelani Jordan shows up wanting a one-on-one rematch for the NXT Women's North American Championship. Nikkita Lyons steps in and tells Kelani she had her chance, and Kelani says she'll beat Nikkita first and then face Fallon.

Backstage, Shawn Spears speaks with Brooks Jensen, and they meet with Tony D'Angelo as Adrianna Rizzo leaves saying she has business to attend to. Luca Crusifino and Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo show up with a voice message for D'Angelo, and Spears and Jensen leave. The voice message is from someone named Mickey, who says that he is disrespected by finding out about D'Angelo heading to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania second-hand. D'Angelo says he will take care of Mickey in Philadelphia. It is revealed on commentary during the next match that the voice on the other end was Nunzio aka Little Guido.

Charlie Dempsey retains the NXT Heritage Cup Championship against Lexis King with two straight falls (2-0). Charlie Dempsey gets the first fall with 0:37 (thirty-seven seconds) left in Round 1 with a German suplex bridge pin that Lexis cannot kick out of. During Round 2, Lexis King hurts his left knee on an awkward landing after Charlie Dempsey throws him over the top rope, and the match is briefly stopped with less than a minute in Round 2 to check on Lexis King, who makes the decision to continue the match. Charlie Dempsey scores the second and deciding fall with :05 (five seconds) left in Round 3 with a chop block and a German suplex bridge pin after Lexis' cornerman William Regal hands brass knuckles to Lexis only for Lexis to refuse them, saying he is not his father.

We hear from Lola Vice, who says that she gets Jaida Parker next week in a hardcore match and that she will use her MMA skills on Jaida with no reservation. She also says that Dawn Marie is not going to need to count the pinfall when she knocks Jaida Parker out.

Zaria beats Brinley Reece in her NXT debut. After the match, The Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley, Jazmyn Nyx) show up angry that Zaria stole their moment at Halloween Havoc, and Fallon Henley says that Zaria will learn not to mess with them. Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade show up and congratulate Fallon on becoming champion, then offers to join them in "welcoming Zaria to NXT." Kelani Jordan shows up to stand with Zaria, but the two of them are soon joined by Stephanie Vaquer and Giulia, who in turn are joined by Jordynne Grace. This starts a five-on-five brawl, and Zaria and company make quick work of Roxanne, Cora and The Fatal Influence.

Kelani Jordan beats Nikkita Lyons after Lyons is distracted by Adrianna Rizzo taking off her earrings, revealing that it was Nikkita who attacked her backstage. After the match, Adrianna attacks Nikkita, and after Kelani pulls Adrianna off Lyons only to find out that Lyons attacked her, Kelani lets Adrianna go at it with Lyons again as referees and security show up.

"All Ego" Ethan Page is in the ring. He says he is not finished with the NXT Championship when Ridge Holland suddenly shows up to tell Ethan that everyone is sick and tired of him before ensuring that Trick Williams will not be champion for much longer when he knocks him off his throne and takes his title. Ridge says Trick knows this and asked Bubba Ray Dudley to do his dirty work only for Bubba to make the smartest decision of his life. Bubba shows up and says it is time that he and Ridge had a little talk. He says that before Halloween Havoc, he did not know a lot about Ridge, but in the past 48 hours, he has learned a lot, and says Ridge has commanded the conversation on Busted Open Radio and that no matter where he turns, people talk about Ridge. He says that Ridge is "one hell of a rugby player...tough, fast, agile" and that he could go on about what others told him, even about how Ridge came back after injury in only eight months, then says this is where the respect ends. He then asks Ridge if he knows who he is before telling him he is part of one of the best tag teams of all time and has more titles than Ridge has had title opportunities. He says it is debatable that Ridge deserves a title shot while Ethan deserves nothing, and says the fans will need to see a lot more of Ridge if he wants a shot at the NXT Championship. Ridge says nobody cares what Bubba says anymore, as he is just a radio host and a nostalgia act, and tells him to go watch some ECW, revel in his pride and complain about the current superstars before he ends up in the hospital. Bubba hits Ridge in the face, and Ethan attacks Bubba from behind before Ridge joins in. Suddenly, Trick shows up and makes the save for Bubba Ray, and Trick and Bubba stand tall. Bully then makes it known that he is teaming with Trick Williams next week.

Backstage in the women's locker room, Zaria, Giulia, Stephanie Vaquer, Jordynne Grace and Kelani Jordan are focused on their ten-woman tag match next week when Rhea Ripley shows up, saying she is looking forward to their match before telling them to blow the roof off.

We hear from Jaida Parker, who says that Lola Vice's idea of a hardcore match is a lot different from hers and that she will pull all the stops against Lola next week. She says that if Dawn Marie gets in her way, she will learn that she does no play.

Backstage, Robert Stone and Stevie Turner talk with General Manager Ava about next week's show. As Eddy Thorpe meets with them, we find out that Rhea Ripley has been attacked near her car in the parking lot by Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez.

Nathan Frazer and Axiom retain the NXT Tag Team Championships against Je'Von Evans and Cedric Alexander after Wes Lee shows up and Je'Von Evans takes him out before the two of them brawl their way to the back.

Backstage, referees try to break up the brawl between Je'Von Evans and Wes Lee, and security and General Manager Ava have to intervene. Rob Van Dam shows up and says he has an idea of what to do next week, then leaves before Je'Von and Wes Lee brawl again.

Here are the highlights from tonight's show!
