Let's Go! - LFG recap for August 9, 2026 (Episode One)

We see Nikkita Lyons in "the Zen Den" of her home, where Nikkita talks about her history of injuries in WWE, writes in a diary and even feeds a raccoon.

Coach Matt Bloom meets with Booker T, Kevin Owens and Johnny Gargano. Owens gets Harlem Lewis vs. Harlan Riggins for the first match, and Bloom wants Harlem to be the babyface and see how the two of them coexist. Gargano gets Nikkita Lyons vs. Layla Diggs. Coach Bloom says that things are starting to click for Nikkita, and that he wants Layla to be the face in the match. Booker T gets the main event of Tristan Angels vs. Dorian Van Dux, both of whom have turned heads, according to Coach Bloom.

Kevin Owens meets with Harlem Lewis and Harlan Riggins. Harlem wants to build the story for their match around their recent tag team match, and Owens uses the general disrespect from Riggins to Harlem in order to make that happen, as spitting on people is not allowed in WWE. Owens notes that both men are imposing and scary at first glance, but notes that Harlem is his own idea of intimidating instead of actually being intimidated. An interference spot by Kam Hendrix is also put in the match.

Harlem Lewis beats Harley Riggins. Riggins' family is seen in the crowd before the match. Riggins is also accompanied by Kam Hendrix for this match. During the match, Harlem grabs Hendrix when he is on the apron, and when Riggins charges at him, Harlem dodges, causing Riggins to inadvertently knock Hendrix off the apron. After the match, Owens notes that both men lacked intensity and that the story did not translate well as a result. Harlem is upset with Owens' critique and thinks it feels repetitive, but he is okay with Bloom's critique. Coach Bloom says that their match did well and that they had fun out there, and that they need to work on keeping the fans' interest. Riggins spends time with his family afterwards, and his family is happy to see him doing what he loves.

Johnny Gargano meets with Layla Diggs and Nikkita Lyons. Nikkita mentions that it has been more than a year since she was a babyface, but says that turning heel helped her find herself. Gargano says that Nikkita can do what she did as a heel while working as a babyface, but in a slightly different manner. Layla admits she was nervous working as a heel, as she is naturally shy, but Gargano has given her some good advice. Nikkita notes that Gargano has helped with the details in telling a story.

Nikkita Lyons beats Layla Diggs. Owens notes that Nikkita needs to get Layla up higher for the Tiger Driver. After the match, Layla notes that she needs to work on her cardio, and Gargano mentions how Layla can take advantage of the moments in the match to catch her breath as a heel. Nikkita notes that she should have looked around for the crowd reaction in order to connect better. Coach Bloom notes that the both of them coudl have played around with the crowd's reaction a little bit longer and have more fun out of it at the beginning, and notes that Nikkita should work on her selling a little more; nevertheless, she mentions that both women stepped up in this match.

Booker T meets with Tristan Angels and Dorian Van Dux. Dorian notes that the name is based on six-time Mr. Olympia Dorian Yates and actor Jean-Claude Van Damme. Booker T notes the reference to Van Damme's character of Frank Dux from Bloodsport. Booker T wants both men to slow down and "kill time with action," which Tristan notes is hard to do when the match is five minutes. Dorian Van Dux notes that everything must feel like an action movie, even when one is doing nothing. Tristan mentions how one must be adaptable when it comes to wrestling a match.

Dorian Van Dux beats Tristan Angels. After the match, Shawn Michaels and Coach Bloom thank Tristan and Dorian on a job well done. Booker T says that Dorian's entrance was good, but still needs more intensity and more aggression in some of Dorian's move. Tristan notes that they rushed things they should not have rushed and that they should have relaxed a bit more, as Booker T noted that they focused too hard on getting the spot at the top rope. Both Dorian and Tristan do feel that they are getting to the next level.

After this, Maximilien, Evan Daniels and Jordan Cruz grab their respective championships and toss them to their opponents before falling to the mat. Mathias, Ray Jaz and Che Cabrera respond by dropping the championships and falling to the mat themselves. Referee Chris Massie places the championships in the corner, and Jordan Castle stays un-ejected. After the match, Cabrera, Ray Jaz and Mathias lift up the champions' titles, then Evan Daniels attacks them all. All of a sudden, numerous wrestlers come out of the locker room and turns a post-match attack into an all-out brawl, and Jonny Loquasto cannot restore order as the show ends.

Jericho appreciates Tay Conti and Anna Jay, saying that their careers were enriched by him and that he is proud of how better their careers have gotten. Tay says she was proud of Jericho, but not anymore, and says she will come back next year and become a champion without him. Conti then quits the J.A.S. and leaves. Anna Jay says that Jericho helped himself more than he helped them, then says she is being selfish tonight, for tonight is about the Women's World Championship and it is not about appreciating him. Anna Jay leaves. "Cool Hand" Angelo Parker says he does not want to do this, as he considers joining the J.A.S. a badge of honor and he has given Jericho everything. He then states that Jericho has not given in return, and he has nothing left to give. Parker leaves. "Daddy Magic" Matt Menard calls Jericho his childhood hero, going so far as to buy a Chris Jericho T-shirt with his first every paycheck and taking his invitation to join AEW while his wife was eight months pregnant. He says the last 18 months were a dream, but now he understands why other people Jericho has worked with now hate his guts, and leaves. Jericho speaks to Sammy Guevara, but Sammy slaps the microphone out of his hand and says he competed for the world title and did what he did because of Jericho. He says he will not walk out on Jericho because he is his friend, and he thought he would do those things for him. He says Jericho has things to work out and he hopes he does, and when he does, maybe he will be there. He then leaves. Jericho is then alone in the ring.

He says they only think about picking their teeth with their enemies' bones. MJF admits that the footage of him saying the Mid-West is "mid" is "heavily edited and heavily fake," and dares God to strike him down if he is lying when he says that his favorite place in America is the Mid-West. When Adam Cole mentions their match for the AEW World Championship at All In, MJF thinks they want to do a promo battle, but Adam Cole says that is not the case. Adam Cole says that they are going to make history when they compete for the championship, and admits that as frustrating as it was not to win the AEW World Tag Team Championships, he has his eyes on something as important: the Ring of Honor World Tag Team Championships. She does not even care if the title is on the line; she just wants her in the ring. Konnan says he raised The OG'z in the streets, and that the streets are not only watching, they are listening, and the only group that runs them is LAX. Eddie Edwards' feet inadvertently knock down the referee as Austin Aries gets him in the fireman's carry position and spins him around. Afterwards, Aries tries to use the Impact World Championship as a weapon, but Eddie blocks it with a kick to the gut followed by a double arm DDT. He goes for a pinfall, but the referee is still down. Eddie takes advantage of the situation by grabbing a Kendo stick and hitting the referee in the back, but Aries kicks him in the groin and goes for the brainbuster. Eddie escapes the movi and hits Aries in the back of the head with the Kendo stick, sending Aries falling into the corner. As Eddie chokes Aries out with the Kendo stkick in the corner, Killer Kross suddenly shows up and grabs Eddie, laying him out with a Saito suplex before leaving the ring and placing the World title in the corner. Aries then goes for the brainbuster and hits it, and the referee come to just in time to count the pinfall that allows Aries to retain the title. After the match, Killer Kross leaves his calling card on Eddie, then celebrates with Austin Aries.
