"Big Shotty" Lee Johnson beats Mike Sydal.

Komander beats "All Heart" Blake Christian.

Lexy Nair brings out Athena and Billie Starkz on the stage. Athena says that she has read things on social media about the three of them drifting apart, then tells Lexy Nair to stop chasing everyone for interviews as she belongs next to her and Billie. Athen also admits that "The Native Beast" Nyla Rose took her to her limit in their two-out-of-three falls Tables Match before she "yeeted" her through a table. Billie mentions her progress in the ROH Women's World Television Championship Tournament and says she will win the whole thing, and Athena tells her she had better win it or else. Athen says that this is their year and that this is her show with her rules, and if anyone does not like it, they can step up and step out.

Taiji Ishimori beats Jacoby Watts by submission.

Backstage, we hear from Queen Aminata, who says that she beat Taya Valkyrie like she said she would, which was not easy, and that she can still feel the pain from the match. She says the ROH Women's World Television Championship Tournament started with sixteen women and will end with only one: Queen Aminata.

Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for August 9, 2018

The show begins with a brawl between The Latin-American Xchange (Santana and Ortiz) and The OG'z (Homicide and Hernandez) somewhere in the arena. Hernandez also sends Santana falling over a guardrail on a flight of stairs, and when arena security steps in, Hernandez beats them up and Border Tosses one of them into the wall after The OG'z come out on top in this brawl.

"The Bone Soldier" Taiji Ishimori and "The Canadian Destroyer" Petey Williams beat The Desi Hit Squad (Rohit Raju and Gursinder Singh).

We hear from Pentagon Jr., who says that "Reborn" Matt Sydal was once a champion just like he was. He says that Sydal talks about the cosmos and the universe, but he plans to take Sydal to his universe where only one thing exists: pain. If Sydal does not believe him, he can ask Sami Callihan. He mentions Sydal's "third eye," then says he has two words: cero miedo.

Backstage, Alicia interview Allie and Kiera Hogan. Allie says it is typical of Tessa Blanchard to attack her from behind. She says that Tessa will soon get hers, then says she will not be distracted again. Allie says that she made a promise to stop Su Yung so that nobody else gets stuffed in a casket. Next week, she wants a match against Su Yung. As for Tessa Blanchard, who thinks this is a ploy to get her hands on the Knockouts Championship, she tells her this is about her stopping Su Yung. She does not even care if the title is on the line; she just wants her in the ring. Kiera Hogan tells Su Yung to bring her undead bridesmaids, and is Tessa Blanchard wants a part of it, she can join in, too. Kiera tells Su Yung her time has come, but Allie corrects Kiera, saying Su Yung's time is up.

We see a video package chronicling the events leading up to Eddie Edwards vs. Austin Aries for the Impact World Championship.

Backstage, Alicia interviews Austin Aries, who wants to know what has happened to Eddie Edwards after having known him for years. He says something has happened to him and says what he is doing is lunacy. He would rather get in the ring with the old Eddie Edwards, but tonight, Eddie Edwards is unpredictable and dangerous, and that has him a little worried. However, he is World Champion for a reason, and no matter how unpredictable and dangerous the match will be, he will still come out on top.

Backstage, Grado wants to know from Joe Hendry and Katarina what happened last week. Katarina tells him that Hendry was yanked off the ring apron before saying that Eli Drake never tagged out and Grado still could not beat him. She then says that Joe Hendry has done it, and will do it again next week. Hendry says he will take care of Eli Drake just like he had Grado's back in primary school. Grado says that Joe Hendry has saved him before and will do it again, and promises to do better next time.

Tessa Blanchard beats Alisha Edwards, who is now going simply by Alisha. After the match, Tessa says she made an example out of Alisha, and tells Allie that she may have everyone else fooled, but she has not fooled her as she knows what her intentions are and she can see through her. She says the only thing Allie cares about is helping herself and taking the Knockouts title. Next week, if Allie is going after Su Yung and the Knockouts Championship, then she is coming after her.

Bob Kapoor is seen carrying all of "The Smoke Show" Scarlett Bordeaux's bags.

Alicia interviews "Reborn" Matt Sydal. He may have lost the X Division Championship, but he still has the spirit of the division and he plans to prove that against Pentagon Jr. tonight. He praises the wrestling gods for matches like this, for this is why he wakes up in the morning. He says he does not have a problem with anyone, but he is glad to be in the spotlight with Pentagon Jr. as he will soon open everyone's third eyes.

This week's Global Wrestling Network Flashback Moment of the Week is Chris Sabin vs. Chris Sabin in the 2006 World X Cup tiebreaker.

Backstage, KM and Fallah Bahh have an argument over whether to cheat in their matches when "The Smoke Show" Scarlett Bordeaux walks by, stopping the argument entirely.

"The Smoke Show" Scarlett Bordeaux spends some time with the powers that be, saying that ever since she got here, the other Knockouts have been mean to her and that they are jealous of her, and she does not feel comfortable getting in the ring with them. The two unseen men give Scarlett her own show, which is almost immediately named "The Smoke Show" and is scheduled for next week. Scarlett thanks them, then leaves.

Pentagon Jr. beats "Reborn" Matt Sydal. After the match, oVe (Jake Crist, Dave Crist, Sami Calliah) is seen on the video screen, with Sami saying he is tired of losing and that there will be consequences. He demands that one of the Crist brothers shave their head, and gives them both ten seconds to decide. Jake decides at the last second to volunteer to have his head shaved, but Sami, seeing Dave's hesitation, makes Jake cut Dave's head so that they can "look like a family," much to the sadness to Jake.

The Latin-American Xchange (Konnan, Santana, Ortiz) show up. Konnan talks about how they beat The OG'z (Homicide and Hernandez) in the 5150 Street Fight in Slammiversary as well as how The OG'z jumped them in the building earlier today. He then calls King and The OG'z out so that they can finish their brawl, but The OG'z are seen up near the lights. Konnan calls King a "walking, talking glory hole," but King says they have their tag team titles and that LAX won a battle, not the war, and that Konnan was right to believe they were setting LAX up. King tells Konnan to stop being scared and instead of ending the war in the ring, to end it in the streets. Konnan says he raised The OG'z in the streets, and that the streets are not only watching, they are listening, and the only group that runs them is LAX. King says The OG'z are the streets, but Konnan tells him you can kill a revolutionary but not the revolution. This street fight is then announced for next week.

Next week: Fenix vs. Sami Callihan!

We hear from Jimmy Jacobs, who says that he was just doing Johnny Impact a favor last week by giving him fair warning and sparing him from being put on the shelf for three months as Kongo Kong beat him up the last time they met in the ring. He says he is a good guy, but he is capable of veyr bad things, and if Johnny wants the monster, then next week, he gets the monster. Jimmy then tells Johnny to be careful, because he is the monster.

Austin Aries retains the Impact World Championship against Eddie Edwards. During the match, Aries' tried-and-true tactic of teasing using a championship as a weapon, handing the title to the referee instead and going for a low blow as the ref takes the title out of the ring backfires when Eddie Edwards catches and counters it. Eddie Edwards' feet inadvertently knock down the referee as Austin Aries gets him in the fireman's carry position and spins him around. Afterwards, Aries tries to use the Impact World Championship as a weapon, but Eddie blocks it with a kick to the gut followed by a double arm DDT. He goes for a pinfall, but the referee is still down. Eddie takes advantage of the situation by grabbing a Kendo stick and hitting the referee in the back, but Aries kicks him in the groin and goes for the brainbuster. Eddie escapes the movi and hits Aries in the back of the head with the Kendo stick, sending Aries falling into the corner. As Eddie chokes Aries out with the Kendo stkick in the corner, Killer Kross suddenly shows up and grabs Eddie, laying him out with a Saito suplex before leaving the ring and placing the World title in the corner. Aries then goes for the brainbuster and hits it, and the referee come to just in time to count the pinfall that allows Aries to retain the title. After the match, Killer Kross leaves his calling card on Eddie, then celebrates with Austin Aries.

Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for July 26, 2018

Austin Aries shows up to start tonight's show. Aries talks about how Impact Wrestling delivered with the best pay-per-view of the year - and perhaps Impact's history - with Slammiversary XVI, and says that everyone who stepped into the ring that night set the bar higher than the match before them to the point that everyone wondered how he and Moose were going to top the rest of the show. Aries says they did, and that he and Moose delivered what a professional wrestling match should be. After all was said and done, he did what he said what he was going to do and retained the Impact Wrestling World Championship against Moose. He then asks what it means for him to hold the World title, and says that there is nobody better than him in this industry right now. He says there are a lot of guys claiming they are the best, but if they are living in a bubble handing you a piece of paper telling you exactly what to say on the microphone, or if they are in their comfort zone being told what you can and can't do when they step in the ring, then they can't call themselves the best. On the other hand, Aries says that if they are going to all sorts of wrestling promotions and travelling all over the world while winning belts all over, all while outside the bubble or comfort zone while taking on all comers, then they can make that claim. He says that Impact Wrestling is doing it differently, and that Impact is a platform where anyone who claims they are the best can show up and prove it. Aries then says he doesn't care who any of his comers are or where they come from, and doesn't even care what time of day it is. He calls the Impact Wrestling ring an open invitation, and if anyone wants to prove they are the best, they have to step in the ring with the best. He then makes it clear to any and all comers that if they want a shot at the World title, they know where to find him. Suddenly, Eddie Edwards shows up behind Aries, and when Aries turns around, Eddie hits him with a Kendo stick before plowing him into the mat with a double arm DDT. Eddie then picks up the World Championship and lifts it up in front of a downed Aries.

"The Bone Soldier" Taiji Ishimori beats "The Canadian Destroyer" Petey Williams. After the match, both men shake hands in a sign of respect, then Williams lifts Ishimori's hand in victory. Suddenly, The Desi Hit Squad (Rohit Raji and Gursinder Singh) show up with Gama Singh and lay both men out.

Backstage, Alicia interviews Anthony Carelli (formerly known as Santino Marella in WWE). He says wrestling in his hometown does not get any better for him than this, and watching the guys in the back pour their hearts and souls out in the ring makes him miss being in the ring. He then introduces one of his top students, Dustin Cameron, who is having a try-out tonight. Suddenly, Austin Aries shows up and talks about how he is a really bad moode after Eddie Edwards hit him with a Kendo stick, and tells Carelli to leave. Carelli says he was a big fan of Aries until he opened his mouth, but Aries is not fazed and says that unlike other "over-the-hill" wrestlers Carelli has faced, he does not "slap like a bitch." However, if he wants to find out first-hand, he can step in the ring with him. Carelli says that if he was younger, he would do it, but he is not cleared for competition due to a neck issue, and declines the opportunity. Aries says he understands if he is "too old and broken down" to step up to him, then proposes that Dustin Cameron take him on. Dustin more than accepts the challenge, and is ecstatic that he has an Impact World Championship match, much to the chagrin of Carelli. After Dustin leaves, Carelli says "Well...at least he paid for his membership in advance."

Tessa Blanchard beats Rebel.

Scarlett Bordeaux shows up, and if interviewed by Alicia on the ramp. Scarlett - who insists on being called "The Smoke Show" Scarlett Bordeaux - says that we are in a historic time for women and she wants to be part of it to empower women and be an inspiration for little girls everywhere. She wants to fight for women's right and be remembered as the greatest women's activist of all time. Instead of being like Susan B. Anthony, she wants to be like Marilyn Monroe or Cardi B. She fuses to tell women to cover up and she refuses to be "hot shamed." When Alicia asks what "hot shaming" is, Scarlett scoffs at her and says she wouldn't expect her to know what that means. She tehn takes the microphone and says to her "Shut up, five! A ten is talking!" before telling Alicia to get off the ramp and sit in the audience where she belongs. Alicia leaves, and Scarlett says "The Smoke Show" is here to make wrestling sexy again. She licks the microphone then dances around before leaving.

We hear from "Reborn" Matt Sydal, who says he did his best at Slammiversary XVI only to come up short and lose the Impact Wrestling X Division Championship to "The Machine" Brian Cage. He says he lost a piece of himself, but the significance of being X Division Champion is still inside his third eye. He says Cage is still convinced the mechanical universe in which he lives in is the way things work, but he is mistaken. He says that he learned from Slammiversary XVI, and that he did not let himself down. All he did was learn and grow, as that is how things happen in a natural world. He says nature seeks homeostasis - a place where everything is perfect and harmonious and in tune. Tonight, he is confident that nature will return everything to a harmonious state and that he will become X Division Champion again.

Johnny Impact is seen backstage pretending to ride a motorcycle while someone near him moves a big piece of cardboard up and down to imitate the wind hitting him and making motorcycle noises.

We hear from Pentagon Jr., who has pieces of Sami Callihan's hair. He tells Callihan that he was going around boasting that he tore his mask and bloodied him up, and that at Slammiversary XVI, he took him to the limit. He says they both gladly suffered, but he has the ultimate prize in the form of Callihan's hair. Aside from that, he continues to have zero fear.

Johnny Impact beats Trevor Lee despite Caleb Konley getting involved. After the match, Johnny Impact gets a microphone and says he cannot even begin to explain how good it feels to be back in Impact Wrestling with the crowd welcome him back, and says Impact Wrestling is the reason the guys in the back continue to perform. He says that when he came here, he came with plans of becoming Impact Wrestling World Champion, but now that he is back, he has some business to take care of first. He says he did not leave by choice, and that he has to take time off to recover from injuries he received from Kongo Kong (who he keeps calling "Kongo Khan"). While he was at home, he watched and he heard that Kongo Kong and Jimmy Jacobs talking all kinds of trash about him and bragging about how they put him on the shelf. He tells the both of them that their time for talk is done, and he will not rest until he takes Kongo Kong to Slamtown.

We see a video package chronicling Su Yung's recent reign of terror, from the burial of Rosemary to retaining the Impact Wrestling Knockouts Championship against Madison Rayne at Slammiversary XVI.

Backstage, Alicia interviews Allie. She may have come up short against Tessa Blanchard, but she came up short against one of the most talented women in wrestling. In the meantime, she is not happy about what Su Yung did to Madison Rayne that night, and says that she should have been there to save Madison but wasn't. She says what happened to her, Rosemary and Madison will not happen again, and she promises to stop Su Yung, even if she has to go at it alone. Suddenly, Kiera Hogan shows up and tells Allie that she has her back, and if Allie is going after Su Yung, then so will she. Allie then says that Su Yung's time has come.

This week's GWN Flashback of the Week is Generation Me (Max and Jeremy Bucks) vs. The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley) for the TNA World Tag Team Championships at No Surrender 2010.

Suddenly, Eli Drake shows up and says he sees a bond between the three of them that he rarely sees in trios after admitting they started off on the wrong foot, then offers the three of them a present before leaving. Grado opens the package only to see a picture of Katarina and Joe Hendry together without Grado. Katarina is irritated, and Joe Hendry tells Grado he will throw it in the trash right now, with Katarina immediately agreeing with him. As Katarina and Joe Hendry, Grado wonders where he is in the picture.

Backstage, KM talks with Fallah Bahh about their loss to The Desi Hit Squad (Rohit Raju and Gursinder Singh) from last week, and admits that he is a "no-good, lying son-of-a-bitch." He then says that the way to be successful in Impact Wrestling is to have a mean streak, and tells him that they need to find Fallah Bahh's mean streak. KM messes with people as they walk around, then tells Fallah Bahh to show off that mean streak next week.

We hear from Killer Kross. He says that if he had to describe himself in a few words, he would have to say he is an artist who answers only to the call of his own impulses. He says people call him "Killer Kross," and he believes in the universal arbitration of suffering. He says the big question is why he has been annihilating everyone, for while his goals are the same as everyone else's: ruining as many lives as possible and hurting as many people as he can in an expedited fashion.

We hear from The OG'z (King, Homicide, Hernandez). At their clubhouse, King says he is neither happy or satisfied, as he is depressed but more angry than anything as he expected more from The Latin-American Xchange (Konnan, Santana, Ortiz). He says they won the battle, but they have not won the war, and when they went there, he crucified Konnan in front of the world and put a bullet in the back of his head, saying he had it coming. He then says Santana and Ortiz let the tag team titles slpip by in their celebration, and says that when tag something, it is yours forever. He then says The OG'z names, not LAX's, are the ones being heard in the street, and that LAX is dead while they are very much alive.

We hear from oVe (Jake Crist, Dave Crist, Sami Callihan). Callihan curses himself in the mirror, calling himself stupid for letting Pentagon Jr. cut his hair. The Crist brothers tell Callihan that he looks great, that he looks like a pirate, that he no longer looks like an asshole and that Jason Voorhees looked amazing. They then ask what they do from from here, and they decide to head to the urinals before beating up a guy in the bathroom for "looking at Sami's hair" and shaving his hair.

"The Machine" Brian Cage retains the Impact Wrestling X Division Championship against "Reborn" Matt Sydal.

Kiera says Tessa is better than her at sitting and watching, and tells Tessa to do what she does best while she beats Taya in the ring.

He then says this is what "The Machine" Brian Cage has done, and that he has not made a name for himself yet after getting a fluke victory on him. Instead of proposing that Sydal exercise Option C, however, he asks that Sydal also put the Impact Wrestling Grand Championship on the line, as he has never held the Grand Championship. After Moose reminds him that he is talking about American Top Team, he says he had Lashley beat in a one-on-one match until they jumped in, and that he had Lashley beat in a tag team match only for them to jump in again. When he had Lashley beat at Bound For Glory, they jumped in a third time. He now believes that Lashley can't beat him one-on-one, and says he should change his nickname from "Walking Armageddon" to "Bitch Boy Bobby." Lambert says he cannot figure out why professional wrestling chose to pick a fight with MMA, and he will never figure out why American Top Team was singled out. Storm says he wants Lambert one-on-one so he can kick the shit out of him. Lambert says if he wants to prove himself against other sport, he should go down the street and slap the Ottawa Senators. He then says he had to stand on the ramp a few weeks ago and hear him go on and on about his love for pro wrestling and the fans as well as how he puts his body on thel ine and how he lives for the fans. He says it make sit want to puke, but he now sees this as an opportunity. He notes that Storm has been in the company since day one and has shown considerable staying power, and says this makes Storm the face of Impact Wrestling, which in turn makes him "the head of the snake." If he can cut the head, then Impact Wrestling can "no longer sell its snake oil." He says that if he wants to face him, he must put his career on the line, and if he loses, he has to leave Impact forever. Storm tells Dan Lambert he has a deal, but after he kicks his ass, he, Lashley and the rest of American Top Team can get out of his company. He then says the only thing he will hear for the rest of his life is "Sorry about your damn luck." Before he can finish that statement, however, Lambert spits in his face, and Lashley hits Moose with a cheap shot. As Lambert directs traffic, Storm threatens to hit him with the Last Call Superkick. Konnan wants a tag team title match. Callihan accepts, but on the condition that if the Latin-American Xchange loses, they have to leave Impact. Konnan tells him that if he reneges on this deal, he will screw up his entire life and those of everyone he knows and he will be so toxic that they would work with very trashy celebrities before they ever work with him again. He then tells him this is business, not personal. They shake hands, then Callihan throws a fireball at Konnan's eyes, blinding him. Callihan then tells him "Now it's personal, bitch!"
