Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for January 4, 2018

Dan Lambert and American Top Team are outside of the arena. Lambert asks the rest of American Top Team to take the night off, and that he's got "The Cowboy" James Storm.

Taiji Ishimori beats Trevor Lee to become the Impact Wrestling X Division Champion!

We hear from Alberto El Patron and Eli Drake before their match tonight for Wrestle Pro in Rahway, New Jersey.

Backstage, Taiji Ishimori runs into Dezmond Xavier, who congratulates him on the ring before telling him he wants a shot at the X Division title in their rematch. Both men then shake hands.

Konnan is angry about what Sami Callihan did to him last week, and he feels like taking matters into his own hands.

Mackenzie Mitchell interviews "The Cowboy" James Storm. Storm says he is usually happy-go-lucky, but tonight is a little different. He says Adam Lambert came into Impact and disrespected the company, and Storm says he is the company and has been around since day one. He has given his life and everything he has had to the business and to Impact, and Impact has given him life and given him everything. He promises he will finish Lambert tonight and send him back to Florida, as Lambert has no idea who he is or what he does, as all he knows him for is wrestling when he also helps the young talent in the back. He tells Lambert that to fight him is to fight everyone in the back, and he will see him in a few moments.

Ethan Carter III retains the Impact Grand Championship against Matt Sydal and Fallah Bahh by judge's decision.

We hear from Johnny Impact, who says he is sick and tired of the "Golden Boy" moniker.

We see footage of Moose entering the building only to be attacked from behind with a steel chair by KM.

Mackenzie Mitchell interviews Allie, who never thought she would be #1 contender for the Impact Wrestling Knockouts Championship until she became more confident. As she promises that she will become Knockouts Champion, she is suddenly blindsided by Laurel Van Ness.

Dan Lambert beats "The Cowboy" James Storm in a Career vs Career Match after help from KM and American Top Team as well as three beer bottles to Storm's head. After the match, the crowd chants "Thank you Storm!"

Backstage, the Impact locker room thanks "The Cowboy" James Storm for everything he has done for the company. We then see him telling family on the phone that he is coming home.

We look back on the origin of Joseph Park, as well as his match at Slammiversary X against Bully Ray.

Chandler Park beats John Bolin in his debut match after Joseph Park punches John Bolin in the face for saying "Screw you and screw your Grandma Jenny!" when Joseph Park tells him that Grandma Jenny would be ashamed of him.

We hear from Matt Sydal, who says that Ethan Carter III is scared of him. He says tonight's defeat feels like a victory to him as well as a way to take the Impact Grand Championship away from EC3.

We hear from Alberto El Patron and Eli Drake before tonight's main event.

In a pre-recorded match from last Saturday night in Wrestle Pro in Rahway, New Jersey, Eli Drake retains the Impact Wrestling Global Championship against Alberto El Patron after pushing El Patron into the referee before hitting him in the head with the title.

The Pluto TV Rewind of the Week is Chris Sabin winning the Ultimate X Match to capture the 2004 Ultimate X Cup for Team NWA.

We hear from Eli Drake, who brags about retaining the Impact Wrestling Global Championship against Alberto El Patron once again.

The Latin-American Xchange beats oVe (Jake and Dave Crist) to become the Impact Wrestling Tag Team Champions! (Had LAX lost, they would have to leave Impact Wrestling forever.)
