Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for January 11, 2018

Lashley and Dan Lambert show up to start tonight's show. Lambert asks the crowd if he can ask a simple question, which leads to the crowd yelling "No!" He asks if they are getting a little sick and tired of them coming out week after week and gloating about how they are punkking professional wrestling. He says it is not getting old for him at all and that he is having the time of his life. He gives credit where credit is due, and says Impact is far more resilient than he thought, and that they remind him of the cockroaches in his house: no matter how many times he calls the exterminator, they won't go away. He asks the Ottawa, Canada crowd if they have roaches, and says even roaches have standards when it comes to where they are willing to live. He is here for two reasons: to have a moment of silence in honor of the dearly departed "The Cowboy" James Storm, who built Impact and had been here since day one, and became the face of the company. He then says that Storm is now unemployed. Since the crowd is so concerned about him, they should start a collection on their way out and get him a little beer money. He is also here to introduce the newest member of American Top Team, whom he was initially skeptical of and underestimated until he proved he could do the impossible and put down James Storm: KM. KM shows up and says that he has done a hell of a job proving himself to American Top Team, and that he has taken out every single person in front of him. He also helped Lambert retire James Storm and single-handedly took down Moose. Right after he brags about taking down Moose, Moose shows up and brawls with KM. Lashley gets on top of Moose and punches him repeatedly, then he and KM take the boots to Moose until Eddie Edwards shows up and fights them both off. Moose then hits Lashley and KM with a double clothesline, then he and Eddie confront Lambert. Lashley helps Lambert out of the ring.

Ethan Carter III shows up. He still stands as the grandest champion that Impact Wrestling has, and nobody is better than him, especially not Matt Sydal, whom he says choked every time he fought for a championship. He says Sydal is not better than him because he lacks a certain intangible and a killer instinct, then says he is so good at choking that he might as well be playing forward for the Ottawa Senators. He then asks the crowd if they want to see him get beaten up, then he asks for a referee to come to the ring, and one shows up. He then issues an open challenge, which is answered by Petey Williams.

Ethan Carter III beat Petey Williams by disqualification after Matt Sydal climbs out from the crowd and attacks EC3 from behind.

Mackenzie Mitchell interviews Allie, who says that is Laurel Van Ness thinks she is small and weak, then things are changing. If Laurel wants to play, they'll play.

We see footage of Eli Drake and Chris Adonis entering the building. We then see Alberto El Patron trashing a backstage area.

Matt Sydal says that Ethan Carter III called him out, and he arrived. He showed EC3 that he cannot call him out without repercussions, and challenges him for the Impact Grand Championship in a 60-minute match with no rounds and no judges. He says that if EC3 thinks he does not have a certain intangible, he is mistaken, as he is the man the people keep the cameras and the spotlight on right now as well as a catalyst for change. He tells EC3 to prove he is the wrestler he claims to be by accepting the challenge.

The Global Wrestling Network Match of the Week is "The Cowboy" James Storm beating Kurt Angle for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

Laurel Van Ness beats KC Spinelli. After the match, Allie rushes into the ring and fights Van Ness. Van Ness rolls out of the ring and runs away.

Eli Drake and Chris Adonis show up for Eli Drake's championship address. Adonis tells everyone to sit down, shut their mouths and show respect for him and Eli Drake. He asks how the people can stand living in Ottawa, Canada when it is cold year round, and calls them all dummies. He brags about still being Impact Wrestling Global Champion, then says Alberto El Patron thought he could swim with the big fish. He tells El Patron to go back to the kiddie pool, that he has no namesake to the title and that he should stay at the bar. Meanwhile, he is winning titles that El Patron thinks he deserves, and says all El Patron can do is try to take the Global title away from him. He says that he has crushed everyone who has been put in front of him, and next week, he will defend the title one more time in Detroit, Michigan. Suddenly, El Patron shows up and tells Eli Drake to shut his mouth, and says there is something going wrong as there is "a loser a little kid pretending to be the champion" walking around pretending to be a big deal. He tells Eli Drake he does not have the cajones to go toe-to-toe against him. He may not be booked in Detroit, but he will book himself just to kick him all over the place twenty different ways. He then asks why they should wait when they can go at it right now, since they have everything they need for the match. Johnny Impact shows up, says that everyone is having a party in Detroit, then says he likes parties and that he will see everyone in Detroit. He then tells El Patron that a bunch of stupid nonsense every time he opens his mouth, but he has just said something that makes a lot of sense: why wait for Detroit? El Patron rushes up to Johnny Impact and fights him, then the two of them et attacked by Eli Drake and Chris Adonis. Johnny Impact takes everyone out before referees and officials show up to restore order.

The Pluto TV Rewind of the Week is James Mitchell shaving Raven's head.

Backstage, Dan Lambert brags about KM ridding Impact Wrestling of "The Cowboy" James Storm last week.

We see Chandler Park talking with Joseph Park after getting his first win in a wrestling match. Joseph Park is about to tell him how dangerous wrestling is when Jimmy Jacobs shows up. He says he knew Joseph Park back when he used to be Abyss, and says that Joseph Park just chases ambulances now. Joseph tells Jimmy that Abyss is never coming back, and Jimmy says that if Abyss did come back, he would find out that there is only one monster in Impact Wrestling, and that monster is Kongo Kong. Chandler Park confronts Jimmy Jacobs only to come face-to-face with Kongo Kong, who intimidates Chandler before walking away.

oVe (Jake Crist, Dave Crist, Sami Callahan) are seen in The Latin-American Xchange's clubhouse, trashing the place and stealing their money.

The Latin-American Xchange find out that their clubhouse is trashed and their money is gone. Konnan says it is time to go back to their roots and become ambassadors of violence, and replace the ropes with barbed wire.

Sonjay Dutt, Garza Jr. and Dezmond Xavier beat Trevor Lee, Caleb Konley and Hakim Zane. After the match, Taiji Ishimori shows up. Sonjay Dutt and Gara Jr. leave the ring, and Taiji Ishimori and Dezmond Xavier stare down before Dezmond extends his hand. Both men shake hands, then Ishimori leaves. Their match for the Impact Wrestling X Division Championship will take place next week.

Next week: Chandler Park vs. Kongo Kong! The Impact Wrestling Global Championship on the line in Detroit, Michigan! oVe (Jake Crist, Dave Crist, Sami Callihan) vs. The Latin-American Xchange (Homicide, Santana, Ortiz) in Barbed Wire Massacre III!
