At SmackDown Live in Providence, Rhode Island, everyone is getting ready for SummerSlam. This year, Trinity has a title match with Nattie. As everyone talks about Instagram, Jon Uso mentions a photo going around of Naomi and Lana kissing during their vacation. Rusev finds the whole thing bizarre. Carmella shows up, then Carmella finds out she has been replaced with Lana at a live event. This leads to a slight tiff between Lana and Carmella.
Nattie has a match with Becky Lynch. Lana complains to Tamina about Nattie's promo skills again. Meanwhile, Nattie cannot wait to win another title for the first time in seven years.
In New York City, Brie and Nikki are in Brooklyn, and Nikki has a few meet-and-greets. Brie and Nikki talk about how things have changed in a year.
Back in Providence, Rhode Island, Natalya is in a limo with Carmella, Trinity and Lana. Natalya talks about how she loved her match tonight as everyone heads to New York City. Lana explains that she did not ask to get on live events to bump Carmella off a live show, but this leads to more friction between her and the other women in the limo.
Nia Jax and Maryse meet in a restaurant in New York City. Maryse tells Nia Jax about a firefighter/EMT singles party to help Nia find a man. Even though dating isn't reasonable for her given her schedule, but she is interested. Maryse also learns that you need not slaughter a cow to get milk.
Alexa Bliss is at a restaurant with Buddy Murphy from NXT. They have been engaged for two years. They have not seen each other much since Alexa was called up to the main roster, and if Buddy Murphy does not improve in NXT - which is not going well, since rehab is not as quick as he had hoped - then he will have to move back to his native Australia. Alexa and Buddy are worried about their future in America if Buddy is let go, and while a fiancee's visa - where the person filing for the visa has to marry in 90 days - is an option, Alexa does not want to rush into a wedding.
Nattie, Lana and Rusev are at the gym. After Nattie and Lana mess with Rusev as far as women kissing each other goes, Nattie tells Lana she is working on her promos. Lana tells Nattie she wants her to do well, but Nattie feels like Lana is like a wasp in her ear.
Alexa, Nia and Maryse head to the firefighter/EMT fantasy singles party. They meet with Charly Caruso on the way there. Nia does not feel comfortable in the situation, and she does not find the party interesting. She also does not see anyone whom she finds attractive. Maryse feels awkward for Nia. Suddenly, Nia finds someone who is more her type in Johnathan. They exchange numbers, then Nia and the women leave. Maryse plans a Sex and the City party, and Nia says she'll show up.
Nattie, Lana and Nia talk about the situation between Lana and Carmella. Lana walks off, and Rusev follows. Nattie and Nia talk about the former's SummerSlam match, and Nattie wants to win a title or else she may never get that opportunity again. Nattie and Nia then talk about Lana, and Nattie feels like she is second-guessing herself every time she cuts a promo.
Lana does a photo shoot for Muscle and Fitness. Rusev then tells Lana he cannot stop thinking about her kissing another girl, and wants to know more about it. Lana says there is nothing wrong with it and that she is surrounded by beautiful women all the time.
Alexa, Nia and Buddy Murphy talk about Buddy's performance in NXT. Buddy has work plans in case he is let go. Alexa talks about what her and Buddy's options are in case Buddy's work visa expires, but Nia feels like Alexa has an excuse for everything she mentions to her and that she should re-think things. Alexa feels Nia doesn't want to take the time to understand her life, and in return, she doesn't want to take the time to understand hers.
Nia is about to go shopping with Alexa for the party, but Alexa does not show up, and Nia is worried that she made Alexa upset. Nevertheless, she tries to enjoy herself. Brie and Nikki show up, and as they go shopping, Nia mentions what is going on with her and Alexa.
Everyone heads to the "Sex and the City" party. Nia meets Alexa for the first time since their meeting in the restaurant, and apologizes for making her angry with her, saying she can be blunt at times. Alexa apologizes, saying she gets defensive at times. Everyone then takes a party bus to a drag show, then everyone starts touching each others' breasts to mess with Rusev, who goes to talk to another woman, who agrees to try to hook up with Lana as "her lesbian gift." Lana has no idea what is going on here, and thinks Rusev is trying to prank her. Lana tells Rusev that she loves him, and that she loves teasing him because he thinks it is weird. Lana admits that she may have confused him a little bit, even if she was exaggerating with it a few times.
Lana talks to Carmella outside of the drag show, and tells her that she would never purposefully try to toss her off a live show. Carmella tells Lana that if she tries to mess with her money and career, she will not play that game. Lana, who feels threatened, tells Carmella that if she accuses her of doing such a thing again, they will have a serious problem.
