205:Alive - 205 Live recap for January 23, 2018

SmackDown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan announces that Enzo Amore has abdicated the WWE Cruiserweight Championship and that he is no longer on 205 Live. He then announces that next week, a General Manager for 205 Live will be named, and that person will handle the title situation. (In reality, Enzo Amore has been released from his contract on the afternoon of this episode's broadcast due to recent accusations of rape. He was suspended the day before, but he is released from his contract on this day. As a result, the Cruiserweight title is now vacated.)

Kalisto, Gran Metalik and Lince Dorado beat TJP, Ariya Daivari and "The Premiere Athlete" Tony Nese. After the match, TJP chews Nese and Daivari out. Nese and Daivari shove TJP to the mat and leave.

We hear from Drew Gulak. He supports having a new General Manager for 205 Live, but he wants someone who has the same values as him who will turn 205 Live into a Drewtopia.

Hideo Itami beats "Gentleman" Jack Gallagher.

Akira Tozawa says he could make for a good General Manager, then tries to fire someone and walk like Vince McMahon.

Cedric Alexander beats Mustafa Ali. Both men show respect after the match.
