Raw Deal - Raw recap for January 15, 2018

Braun Strowman shows up to start tonight's show. Strowman tells the crowd a short story with a happy ending: a beast and a machine met a monster at Royal Rumble, and the last one standing was the Monster Among Men, and he became the Universal Champion. Suddenly, General Manager Kurt Angle shows up, flanked by a team of security guards. Angle tells Strowman he has a story that doesn't have a happy ending. He could have maimed Kane and Brock Lesnar, and he also destroyed thousands of dollars in equipment. Strowman says it could have been a lot worse. Angle says Strowman created an unsafe working environment, and he is responsible for everyone at the show. Strowman tells Angle to do his job, as he did his last week. Angle tells him things are settled in the ring, but Strowman says he does what he wants, when he wants and how he wants to do it, and he will do anything it takes to become WWE Universal Champion. Angle tells Strowman that he should be lucky that Kane and Brock Lesnar can still compete, then tells Strowman the match at Royal Rumble will not be a Triple Threat Match and that he will not be in it. Angle then proceeds to fire Braun Strowman, then heads towards the back. Strowman follows him, and the security guards follow Strowman.

Security guards try to escort Braun Strowman out of the building, but Strowman turns around and dares them to make him leave.

We look back on September 19, 2011, when Hugh Jackman guest starred and helped Zack Ryder beat Dolph Ziggler.

Security continues to escort Braun Strowman out of the building. When one of them puts his hand on Braun and tells him to leave, Braun attacks and eventually overpowers the security guards, with one of them getting Biel Tossed through a table. Strowman then yells "I'm not finished yet! I'm not leaving until everybody gets these hands!"

Titus O'Neil and Apollo Crews beat Sheamus and Cesaro after Jason Jordan shows up and distracts Sheamus to allow Apollo Crews to get the win, much to the chagrin of Seth Rollins, who confronts Jason Jordan for coming out to the stage.

Braun Strowman finds General Manager Kurt Angle's office and kicks the door down. Nobody is inside, and he proceeds to trash the room.

Sasha Banks and Finn Balor will take on "The Artist" Shinsuke Nakamura and Natalya this week on WWE Mixed Match Challenge.

At catering, someone warns everyone that Braun Strowman is coming. Strowman shows up and wrecks catering, then grabs Curt Hawkins and choke slams him through a table before taking a slice of cake and eating it.

Enzo Amore and "The Premiere Athlete" Tony Nese shows up. Enzo agrees that Braun Strowman is a monster among men, but so is he. He may be walking into Royal Rumble battered and bruised, but he will walk out champion. If he is Frankenstein's monster, then Cedric Alexander is Dracula because he sucks. If Cedric wants a piece of him again, he'll have to get through his garlic in Tony Nese. Cedric Alexander then shows up and brings out Goldust. He confronts Enzo for comparing himself to Boris Karloff, and says if he was a movie, he'd go straight to DVD. Meanwhile, Cedric is a box office smash. He then says that when Cedric wins at Royal Rumble, only one word will describe him: champion. Cedric takes the microphone and calls Enzo "sawft."

Backstage, Braun Strowman's path of terror continues, as he nearly pushes a dumpster into two referees.

Cedric Alexander beats "The Premiere Athlete" Tony Nese. After the match, Enzo walks away from the ring and from Tony Nese.

General Manager Kurt Angle, flabbergasted at the damage Braun Strowman has done as he looks at his backstage office, is considering calling the cops when referee John Cone tells Angle that Strowman is approaching the production trucks - which are worth $12,000.

Backstage, Braun Strowman enters a production truck and gives everyone a hard time. He scares everyone out of a room, then leaves. Everyone heads back to their stations when the truck suddenly shakes. Braun Strowman has disengaged the tractor, then gets out of the truck and tries to topple it over. General Manager Kurt Angle shows up and tells him he called the cops. Braun leaves, but returns and topples the truck anyway. Strowman then screams in Angle's face and leaves again, and security begs for him to leave. The security guards try to reason with Braun Strowman, who turns around and warns them to get away. Strowman then heads to the stage. Strowman looks at the commentary table, and everyone at the table runs away. Michael Cole is not so lucky, and Strowman nabs him before carrying him like a child. Angle shows up with a bevy of security guards. He tells Strowman that he has called off the cops, and that Commissioner Stephanie McMahon has rehired him. He asks that Strowman let Cole go. Braun Strowman leaves, but notices Cole is still near him. Strowman grabs Cole, then Biel Tosses him off the stage and into the security guards.

Tom Phillips replaces Michael Cole on commentary.

Asuka beats Nia Jax by referee stoppage after Nia Jax's left leg gives out and she is unable to stand up. Referees, a doctor and Alexa Bliss show up after the match.

General Manager Kurt Angle is surveying the damage to his office when Jason Jordan shows and thanks Kurt for believing in him. Jason Jordan says that on behalf of Seth Rollins, he and Seth are ready for Royal Rumble. He wants to help Seth get back on the singles track with a match with Finn Balor. Angle makes the match official.

WWE recognizes and celebrates the life and accomplishments of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Backstage, Alexa Bliss apologizes to Nia Jax - who is icing up her knee - for getting her into this. Enzo Amore shows up and talks to Nia, but Alexa says she's got this. Nia says Enzo does, and Alexa walks away.Nia continues to ice up her knee.

The Revival (Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder) quickly beat two unnamed opponents. After the match, Scott Dawson asks Charly Caruso if she is sure they want to give The Revival a live microphone, then says what we just saw was tag team excellence. He says that has been missing from the back for quite some time. He says he and Dawson are students of the game, and all they are worried about are getting in holds and winning matches. As for what old school star they would like to meet next week, Dawson says there is nothing old-school about beer shots and crotch chops. He says those things have made a mockery of wrestling, and they are professional wrestlers, not sports entertainers. Scott Dawson says they are as real as they get and WWE cannot change them. Even during next week, WWE is still their universe. He then says only one team will set the tone for the next 25 years of Raw, and that is The Revival.

We look back on March 10, 2014, when Daniel Bryan led the Yes Movement in the ring and got his match at WrestleMania 30.

Elias hopes that Michael Cole is okay, then says he here is for two reasons: to teach the people that WWE stands for "Walk With Elias," and remind everyone that the Royal Rumble Match is on the horizon and that he is concerned about one Superstar in it: John Cena. Elias sings about Cena and plays guitar, saying that Cena is destined to fail at Royal Rumble, then goes for another song. He then introduces The Miztourage.

The Miztourage is still in the ring. The Miz says that last week, he returned after a six-week absence and received a "Welcome back" chant, which he says was awesome. He says the fans knew something was missing during those six weeks. He says that he was the spark the show was missing, not John Cena or Brock Lesnar. Whether General Manager Kurt Angle likes him or not, he knows, and give him his Intercontinental Championship rematch, which he says felt awesome, as did laying waste to Roman Reigns. He says he is responsible for some unforgettable moments, and now USA Network has asked him and Maryse to film a new reality shows. Next week, he will over-deliver like he always does, and people will talk about him for 25 more years. Miz then says the Intercontinental title is his, and he will take it back from him next week and it will feel awesome.

Roman Reigns beats The Miztourage (Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel) in a 1-on-2 handicap match.

Sonya Deville beats Sasha Banks. During the match, it is announced that Paige will not be able to participate in the Women's Royal Rumble Match due to a neck injury.

We see footage from last week where the WWE Superstars went to the Lorraine Motel and National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis, Tennessee.

In the locker room, Seth Rollins tells Jason Jordan that he is not his spokesperson, and that the problem is not in what he did earlier tonight, but how he did it.

Matt Hardy beats Heath Slater.

It is announced that Goldberg is the first inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2018.

We look back on May 17, 1993, when The 1-2-3 Kid got a surprise victory on Razor Ramon.

Seth Rollins beats Finn Balor. During the match, Sheamus and Cesaro show up, and during the ringside chaos that also sees Gallows & Anderson (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson) fight Sheamus and Cesaro at ringside, Jason Jordan trips Finn Balor up, allowing Seth Rollins to hit Finn Balor with the Curb Stomp - the first time the move has been executed in three years - to get the win. After the match, Gallows & Anderson help Finn Balor up.

Here are the top 10 moments from tonight's show!
