At the start of the show, The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) stated that they did what they did last week because of friendship, and say that Don Callis was right when he said that they had changed, stating that they were no longer hungry and let others change the narrative. Matt Jackson says he is no longer content it is time to introduce a newer, better version of the Young Bucks as we see the tassles being cut off on one of their wrestling outfits.

As we hear from "Iron" Mike Tyson, MJF interrupts and lets him know that The Pinnacle is peeved with him, then tells him that Chris Jericho is his enemy and that tonight is the best time to strike. MJF asks Tyson to "be on the right side of history," then makes fun of his tattoo before bribing him with a blank check with his name on it. Tyson takes the blank check, tears it up, eats it and spits it at MJF.

Jericho called Tyson to have The Inner Circle's back against The Pinnacle, and now Tyson is special guest enforcer. Jade Cargill beats Red Velvet.

Backstage, Tony Schiavone interviews Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. and Reba. Britt says she is ranked at #3, and after Red Velvet's loss, she will be elevated to #2. She says she will keep rising up the ranks so the fans get what they deserve: a role model as Women's World Champion.

We hear from Miro, who says that he wants to talk to Chuck Taylor to smooth things out, but either way, he will work towards his goal of championship gold with or without him.

Chris Jericho beats Dax Harwood in a match with "Iron" Mike Tyson as special guest enforcer as The Pinnacle and The Inner Circle brawl. During the brawl, "Iron" Mike Tyson stops Cash Wheeler from interfering in the match and knocks him out with a right hand. After the match, Chris Jericho names "Iron" Mike Tyson an ancilliary member of The Inner Circle.

Backstage, Alex Marvez interviews Don Callis, The Good Brothers ("The Big LG" Doc Gallows and "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson) and The Young Bucks. Callis takes the microphone and says that just when you think you've seen it all, you haven't seen anything. He calls The Young Bucks coming back to the family fold not the end of the story, but the beginning. Kenny Omega says they did not change; they just got sick of what the fans wanted them to do, and that they will be who they want to be. Matt says he and Nick Jackson are the best tag team in the world and they are back, and they put the tag team division on notice, saying that if The Butcher and The Blade want a shot at them, they have a BTE Trigger with their name on it. Don Callis then says to be prepared to be surprised again. The Young Bucks then tease superkicking the cameraperson, then Don Callis hits an actual superkick on the cameraperson.

Ricky Starks gets annoyed with having to wait on Christian Cage, and Taz tells Starks to stay backstage. When Cage agrees and says Starks is combustible, Taz tells him to stay behind, too.

Tony Schiavone interviews Christian Cage in the ring. Christian Cage says that Tony Khan has given him an open contract and is here to exercise it, then Team Taz shows up, with Taz wanting to know why Christian has not given him an answer as to whether he will join Team Taz. Christian says he came to AEW to win championship, not fix Taz's problems, and tells him his answer is no. Generation NXT - NXT recap for January 23, 2019

Velveteen Dream shows up to start tonight's show. He says that he has a little sparkle in his eye and something special in his sights, and that he waits for no man. That sparkle is one of championship gold; more specifically, the North American Championship. Before Velveteen Dream can get done talking, Adam Cole and Bobby Fish show up. Cole says 2019 will be the year of The Undisputed Era (Cole, Fish, Kyle O'Reilly, Roderick Strong) , as they will take all the championship gold NXT has to offer. While Kyle O'Reilly and Roderick Strong have the tag team titles, he and Fish have no gold to speak off. Cole says that will change, and that Velveteen Dream can continue to "dream on." Fish says that Velveteen Dream should be ashamed of aspiring for championship gold, and tells him that he should learn to live in reality, for 2019 will continue to be The Undisputed Era's era. Velveteen Dream says he is ready to dispute that claim, but only if that is okay with Cole. Fish charges at Dream only to be tossed out of the ring, and the same thing happens to Cole before Velveteen Dream slides out of the ring.

We see a video package for Bianca Belair vs. "The Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler for the NXT Women's Championship at NXT TakeOver: Phoenix.

Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch beat Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel.

We see a video package for Aleister Black vs. Tommaso Ciampa for the NXT Championship at NXT TakeOver: Phoenix.

Kairi Sane and Io Shirai beat Amber Nova and Tanea Brooks. (Tanea Brooks is perhaps best known as Rebel from TNA/Impact Wrestling.)

In footage from moments ago, Kairi Sane says she and Io Shirai will take care of business together. Shirai says nobody can stand them. Suddenly, Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir show up and welcome them back. They tell Kairi and Shirai to enjoy their time in NXT while they can, for they will soon send them back out at sea.

Velveteen Dream beats Bobby Fish despite damage deal to his left leg during the match as well as interference by Adam Cole.

Next week: Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) vs. The Forgotten Sons (Steve Cutler and Wesley Blake)! Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir vs. Kairi Sane and Io Shirai!

Ricochet shows up. Two weeks ago, Johnny Gargano talked about being better, then blindsided him with a superkick. The way he sees it, 2019's Johnny Gargano is the same as last year's, and that he just showed his true colors: a deceitful liar who cares only about himself. Meanwhile, he showed his true colors last year by winning the NXT North American Championship and proving that he is something Gargano is not: a champion. Gargano shows up, and says that Ricochet is trying to use his emotions against him. He says that he has a plan, then tries to brawl with Ricochet. Ricochet gets the upper hand, but is blinsided by Tommaso Ciampa. Gargano then notices Ciampa, and both men stare down before Ciampa backs down and stays in the ring to let Gargano wail on Ricochet at ringside. Suddenly, Aleister Black shows up and attacks Tommaso Ciampa in the ring. Gargano gets in the ring and attacks Aleister from behind before superkicking him. Gargano and Ciampa then look at each other before Ciampa proceeds to pound on Aleister, then Gargano goes back to work on Ricochet when Ricochet gets back in the ring. They then lay Ricochet and Aleister out before staring at each other again, then they both leave the ring. They then look at each other again outside of the ring as they both make their way to the back. Ciampa then extends his hand, but Candice LeRae jumps in between them and tells Gargano that they are not going through this again.

Nikki Cross beats Amber Nova.

We see a vignette for Keith Lee, who is coming to NXT tonight.

The Undisputed Era (Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, Kyle O'Reilly, Roderick Strong) brings out a knocked-out Ricochet before the next match can begin. Adam Cole says he is not a coward and does not back down from anybody, and that Ricochet is battered and bruised while he stands tall as the one and only North American Champion. Cole then says that when he beats Ricochet at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn IV, that will still be undisputed.

Backstage, Vanessa Borne says her gameplan against Taynara Conti is to win, and says she does not want to deprive the fans of "the vision." Tonight, she and the world will both get what they deserve, and she will take the final spot in the Mae Young Classic.

Kassius Ohno beats Adrian Jauode.

We see footage of Ethan Carter III's and Velveteen Dream's poolside summit. The two of them take a walk, and The Dream teases tosses EC3 into the pool. EC3, having come to The Dream's house wanting to fight, says that this match is worth waiting for. He proposes that they go at it at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn IV instead. The Dream thinks that EC3 is disrespecting him, and as he says that he respects him, drops his sunglasses. EC3 goes to pick them up, and The Dream charges at him. EC3 sees it coming and throws him into the shallow end of the pool before leaving. The Dream screams for help, but EC3 tells him it's only three feet deep.

Next week: Velveteen Dream live!

Keith Lee beats Marcel Barthal.

We hear from Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford), who host another episode of Street Talk in front of an ATM. Marcel Ford says that The Mighty (Shane Thorne and Nick Miller) think that Street Profits are jokes. Street Profits make fun of The Mighty's new name and says they want none of Street Profits. Street Profits and The Mighty will face off next week.

Taynara Conti beats Vanessa Borne to qualify for the Mae Young Classic.

Next week: Kairi Sane vs. Aliyah! Tyler Bate vs. Roderick Strong!

Two-time UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez is seen in the crowd.

Johnny Gargano vs. Aleister Black ends with Tommaso Ciampa showing up, tossing Gargano out of the ring and attacking Aleister, setting in motion a brawl between all three men that referees have to rush into the ring to break up. Suddenly, General Manager William Regal shows up and says this is getting out of control and that all three men are hell-bent on destroying each other. He has no intent to control or prevent this; instead, he will let it happen, as the NXT Championship will now be decided in a Triple Threat Match between Gargano, Aleister and Ciampa at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn IV.

Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for March 29, 2018

We see footage from earlier this week where Austin Aries meets with "Reborn" Matt Sydal and Josh Mathews outside of the arena. Aries congratulates Sydal on becoming X Division champion, and Sydal calls the title something he would not just give away. Aries talks about Option C, and gives Sydal a chance to become Impact Wrestling World Championship. Instead of proposing that Sydal exercise Option C, however, he asks that Sydal also put the Impact Wrestling Grand Championship on the line, as he has never held the Grand Championship. Mathews is vehemently against the idea, but a very calm Sydal tells Aries he has a deal, much to Josh Mathews' chagrin.

Petey Williams beats Suicide, Rohit Raju and Taiji Ishimori in a four-way match. After the match, Williams announces that at Redemption, he will cash in his shot at the X Division Championship on "Reborn" Matt Sydal. He tells Sydal to bring him his X Division title.

Mackenzie Mitchell interviews Eli Drake. Eli says he should be the man walking out with the World title; instead, he has a shot at the tag team title. He says that status, privilege and gold are all that matters, and the only gold that matters is the World title after saying gratitude means nothing to him. He says he has no tag team partner, nor does he need one, as he does not want a "cross-eyed half-wit stealing [his] glow." Eli calls himself "the one-man show," but then he comes up with an idea and leaves.

We see footage of Eddie Edwards in Dayton, Ohio. Eddie talks about how Sami Callihan injured him, and says oVe (Jake Crist, Dave Crist, Sami Callihan) know nothing about who he is or what he is about, and if it is Ohio versus everything, then that is okay for he is here.

Braxton Sutter shows up before the next match and introduces Su Yung.

Su Yung quickly beats Amber Nova in her Impact debut.

Mackenzie Mitchell interviews Johnny Impact. Impact says nothing has changed for him, but says it is difficult to become champion as everyone has the same goal. As he says that nobody dreams of becoming a professional wrestler and coming in second place, Jimmy Jacobs shows up. He tells Johnny he has no idea what his goals are, and Johnny takes this as a challenge. Jimmy wants to know what it is like being Johnny Impact, then says Johnny lives in a bubble that is about to be popped by the monster of reality. Johnny says reality is subjective, and if Jimmy wants to step into his bubble or the ring, he is fine with that, but he wants him out of his interview as soon as he says what he wants. Jimmy tells him he will find out, because he is a princess and he always gets he wants. He also says that Kongo Kong says hello before leaving, and Johnny tells Jimmy to tell him he said hello, too.

We see footage from during the commercial break where Taya Valkyrie talks about how she proved once again that she is better than Rosemary. As she talks about how she will always be better than Rosemary and that all roads lead to Valhalla, Rosemary walks besides her on the nearby trailer with a garbage can in her hands, and she eventually throws it at her. A backstage worker gets involved only to get smacked in the head with a trash can. Richard Justice pops out of a trailer to see what going on as Taya beats Rosemary up, , and when Justice gets too close, he gets laid out with a forearm by Taya. Taya then gets misted by Rosemary as soon as she turned around, and a blinded Taya attacks Amber Nova, who is being helped to a trainer's room. Wrestlers and officials have to hold Taya back, and Rosemary leaps off the trailer to everyone in the vicinity with a high flying cross body.

The GWN Flashback Moment of the Week is AJ Styles vs. Chris Sabin vs. Petey Williams in an Ultimate X Match for the TNA X Division Championship at Final Destination 2005.

Backstage, Eli Drake meets with Moose and tries to trade briefcases with him, saying two belts are better than one, and that he could team up with Eddie Edwards and get some instant gold. Moose proposes a match between them next week. If Eli Drake wins, he gets Moose's case, but if Moose wins, he keeps his case and gains Eli Drake's.

At Rockstar Pro in Dayton, Ohio, Eddie Edwards demands to know Sami Callihan's whereabouts and gets physical with some people at the front row. He grabs a Kendo stick and gets in the ring, nailing members of security with it before grabbing the microphone and demanding a match with Sami Callihan. Callihan shows up with a baseball bat, and while Eddie fights off oVe (Jake Crist, Dave Crist, Sami Callihan), the numbers game quickly catches up to him. Sami is about to hit Eddie with the bat again as Jake and Dave Crist hold Eddie up, but Eddie kicks him in the groin fights back. That does not last for long, either, as Sami Callihan manages to overpower him. This time, Sami tries to re-break the orbital bone of Eddie Edwards before hitting an assisted spike piledriver into the mat. The Rockstar Pro locker room surrounds the ring and sides with oVe.

We hear from Sami Callihan, who says that Eddie Edwards would not walk into his home turf without getting his ass beaten, and that he let him leave so he can tell all his friends and family and let them know that oVe (Jake Crist, Dave Crist, Sami Callihan) is coming to take down every person Eddie knows and loves.

We see a video package for Austin Aries vs. "Reborn" Matt Sydal for the Impact Wrestling World and Grand Championships.

Despite interference by Josh Mathews - which is put to a stop by Petey Williams - Austin Aries retains the Impact Wrestling World Championship against "Reborn" Matt Sydal and becomes the new Impact Wrestling Grand Champion!

We see footage from last week where Austin Aries speaks to the press. He says it feels great to be back in Impact and that he is as shocked as everyone else that he is Impact Global Championship, and he had the opportunity and took it. He did not expect to win a title on the first night, and he has yet to sign a contract with Impact and is still a free agent. When asked what will happen if he loses the title on a non-Impact show, he says that he will have to make sure that does not happen. All of a sudden Eli Drake and Chris Adonis try to confront Austin Aries but are stopped by security. Eli Drake wants the title shot, but Austin Aries tells him that if he wants a rematch, he will give him time to prepare so there can be no excuses.

Austin Aries will defend the Impact Global Championship - now the Impact World Championship - next week.

The GWN Flashback Moment of the Week is Austin Aries beating Bobby Roode for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship to become a world champion in Impact for the first time and bring Bobby Roode's record-setting run to an end after 256 days.

Trevor Lee and Caleb Konley - now officially known as The Cult of Lee - beat T.E.C.H. (TC Reed and Mike Monroe). After the match, The Latin-American Xchange show up on the TitanTron. Konnan tells The Cult of Lee that they may be mocking them, but they are only wanna-bes, trying-to-bes and never-will-bes. Konnan tells them to get acquainted to failure, saying it is a great teacher as it tells you what not to do next time. He then tells The Cult of Lee not to mess with LAX, and that they are coming for them.

Backstage, Allie meets Kiera Hogan, congratulates her on last week, and tells her that she will be backstage watching her back if anything happens. All of a sudden, Allie gets a large postcard with a message telling her to meet them in the Impact Zone next week, the day after Valentine's Day. It is signed "Your secret admirer."

Mackenzie Mitchell interviews Moose. Moose says he played for Syracuse University and the NFL, and not once did he get a shot at a national championship or a Super Bowl. In the two years he has been in Impact, he has yet to wrestle for the Impact World Championship. It doesn't matter who he has to face for it, as he will become #1 contender tonight.

Laurel Van Ness retains the Impact Knockouts Championship against Kiera Hogan, then continues to attack Hogan after the match and pushes the referee back. Allie runs into the ring and fights off Laurel Van Ness, who retreats when Allie tries to strike her with the Knockouts Championship.

We see camera footage from oVe (Jake Crist, Dave Crist, Sami Callihan) where somebody is watched from around a corner.

Brian Cage is coming to Impact...

Mackenzie Mitchell interviews Ethan Carter III. EC3 says there is a lot of speculation and controversy about where he stands, but says he is the best guy here, there and anywhere, and if anyone thinks he will not fulfill his destiny of becoming a three-time World Champion, they are fools. He will hunt Moose, he will drink Alberto El Patron's shot, and Johnny Impact is an impact in name only, as he is the real impact player and he is EC3.

The Pluto TV Rewind of the Week is "Wildcat" Chris Harris hitting a leg drop off the top of a cage.

We hear from Jimmy Jacobs and Kongo Kong. Jacobs says he is a good guy, not a bad guy, and he nicely asked Joseph Park to bring Abyss to the Impact Zone this week, and yet there is no Abyss. He does not like repeating himself, and if this is how Joseph Park wants to do it, then if Park will not bring the monster, then he and Kongo Kong will drag the monster out of him.

We hear from "Reborn" Matt Sydal and Taiji Ishimori backstage. Sydal says that if there is one thing his spiritual adviser has helped him, it is to harness the power of another champion, absorb what they put out, and put it in your heart and soul. Sydal says that Ishimori has the heart and soul of a champion, and next week, he will defend the X Division title against El Hijo del Fantasma. He wishes Ishimori the best of luck, then says he can feel and absorb every ounce of what goes on in Impact Wrestling.

We see camera footage of oVe (Jake Crist, Dave Crist, Sami Callihan) stalking somebody in front of their car. That person gets beaten up and by oVe and thrown into the trunk of their car, then Sami Calliahn says "Thumbs up...thumbs down." After the break, it is announced that the person that was being stalked by oVe was Lashley.

However, he has been forced to make it. He has had friends from America's Top Team coming to the Impact Zone to tell him to come back to MMA. Because of that, he is making that decision tonight. He has decided to go back home to America's Top Team and MMA. He says the fans got what they wanted and that tonight is his last night in GFW. He plans to show his dominance one last time, and calls out Moose to the ring so he can face him in a match. Moose shows up and hits Lashley with a cheap shot. This starts a brawl that goes through the crowd, onto the ramp and back into the ring which ends when America's Top Team shows up from out of the crowd and attacks Moose. He has tackled everyone that Prichard has thrown at him, and tells him to give him a title shot. If one more person gets an opportunity, he will take matters into his own. Lashley hits Sydal with a Spear, and says that's only a start. He tells Prichard to make the World title shot happen.

Grado and Laurel Van Ness' date continues. Grado does what he can to survive the date. Laurel is somehow enjoying herself. Later, we see Joseph Park and Grado meet backstage again. It's official: Laurel Van Ness is Grado's key to citizenship.

Chris Adonis tosses water into the face of Freddy "Partyboy" Hardy. Freddy jumps in the ring and confronts Adonis, and Andy Velcich jumps in shortly afterwards. Adonis gets out of there.

Eli Drake beats Ethan Carter III, Eddie Edwards and Moose after EC3 hits Edwards with the One Percenter only for Eli Drake to pick the bones.

McKenzie interviews the stars of Swole Mates, Andy Velchich and Freddy "Partyboy" Hardy. Suddenly, the Latin-American Xchange interrupts and a camera follows them to the back where they meet Dos Caras and El Hijo del Dos Caras. With no answer as to whether Alberto El Patron will join LAX, father and son are jumped. Konnan demands an answer from Alberto El Patron, or else he will do away with his father and brother.

The Latin-American Xchange head to the ring with Dos Caras and El Hijo del Dos Caras as hostages. Konnan says he knows Alberto El Patron is in the building and that they are recording his documentary here, and says that El Patron underestimated how demented he can be. He says he will handle this Mexican street style, saying that if El Patron wants to put his hands on his family, then he will put his hands on El Patron's. Dos Caras and El Hijo del Dos Caras are attacked with kendo sticks, and El Hijo del Dos Caras is almost unmasked when El Patron shows up. He tells Konnan to leave his family alone, and not to involve them in this. El Patron tells Konnan that if he lays a hand on his father, he will hurt him. Konnan tells El Patron that if he joins, he will let them go. After some words between El Patron and Konnan (whom El Patron calls "Carlos"), LAX let El Patron's brother and father go. El Patron then tells Konnan that they are no longer friends, and that Konnan is no longer the man he once knew and that he is just Konnan and not Carlos. Konnan tells El Patron to put on the LAX shirt, and says he is a man of his word and will let his family goes. El Patron puts the shirt on, then attacks LAX with the kendo stick still laying in the ring. He then rips the shirt off after cleaning house, and the show ends.

The quartet sings EC3's theme song while a woman plays violin to celebrate EC3 being #1 contender for the Impact Wrestling World Heavyweight Championship. At Slammiversary, he takes on Lashley for the Impact World title, and he has something special for him: fight music, which is sung by the quintet. Suddenly, Alberto El Patron, Bruce Prichard, Karen Jarrett, Tyrus and Bruce Prichard show up. Prichard makes a match between El Patron and EC3 with both the GFW Global Championship and EC3's Impact World title shot on the line...in Six Sides of Steel.

McKenzie Mitchell interviews Jeremy Borash and Joseph Park backstage. JB does not want to get in the ring against Scott Steiner, but Joseph Park tells JB he has to be competent, saying he has faced adversity all his life by bucking up, and says that between now and Slammiversary, they will learn everything there is to learn about tag team wrestling. Jeremy Borash reacts by simply asking Park "Have you lost your damn mind?"

Sonjay Dutt guests on commentary for the next match.

Low Ki retains the Impact Wrestling X Division Championship against Andrew Everett.
