Championship Gold - Championship Wrestling recap for April 5, 2026

Zeda Zhang introduces The OXP. The OXP hypes the crowd up, then gets interrupted by Jordan Cruz and The Epic. Jordan Cruz says that he is glad The OXP is here, as Championship Wrestling needs stars, then says that everyone actually came to see him, not The OXP, because he is the main attraction and hot commodity and this is his house. Cruz then demands that The OXP wipe his feet at the door and show him respects, and while he can be a giving star, he can take, and if The OXP even so much as thinks of taking his title, he will stomp that idea until it is dust and ash. The OXP takes this as an opportunity to face Jordan Cruz for the UWN World Championship, as nothing would make him happier than to see him go back home and cry after ending up flat on his back looking at the lights. Cruz tosses his title at The OXP, but The OXP ducks the clothesline and nearly kicks Jordan Cruz's head off. Cruz immediately retreats, and The Epic ends up being the only thing between The OXP and Jordan Cruz.

Garcia says he did not have to give him another shot, but he wanted to, then says this is the last chance Adam Cole will get. He then says that the last seventeen years belong to Cole, but the next seventeen belong to him. Everyone else then leaves the room at Garcia and Cole's request. Cole says that he respects Garcia, but Garcia is not ready to run a promotion and be a true champion yet, and if Garcia cannot get that, then he will have to beat him on Sunday. Both men then have a staredown, then Garcia knocks on the table and leaves.

He says that the last time they were in the ring, Johnson was in the ring for five minutes while he went on to become champion, and while Johnson has been on a roll and has been learning from his last matches, he is not on his level and will not be taking the ROH World Television Championship from him.

During the match, Maria Kanellis-Bennett tries to get a chair into the ring, but referee Mike Posey removes the chair from the ring and ejects Maria from ringside. He says that FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) has stated that they do not like to struggle, but they did not hear him when he said that he broke his leg and that he and his brother Darius are no strangers to struggling. Darius says that if the past three years have taught that they can take a hit and get back up, and tomorrow night, FTR can hit them as hard as they can and they will get back up because that is what they do. He knows the road to the AEW World Tag Team Championships will be hard with FTR as well as The Young Bucks (Matthew and Nicholas Jackson), but at Dynasty, everyone will find out that Top Flight is one of the best teams to ever do it, and they are just taking off.

The challenge is answered by Monstersauce (Lance Archer and Alex Zayne). He says that since Bullet Club Gold is giving out opportunities, they might as well take it, and since they are in the city of brotherly love, he will love whipping both of their asses. He then realizes that he is fighting for a trios title, and brings out one more surprise: Minoru Suzuki.

Sammy says he is almost jealous, and that he would hate himself if he was MJF instead of himself. He then says that MJF sold his soul to be a pillar of AEW, and as far as his side goes, he built it brick by brick and put his heart and soul into AEW.
