Final iMPACT! - iMPACT! recap for February 29, 2024

In memory of Ole Anderson, 1942 - 2024. In memory of Mike "Virgil" Jones, 1951 - 2024.

Steve Maclin beats "Speedball" Mike Bailey. After the match, Maclin says that this is what he does best and that he continues to stack body after body, and that is why he took out "The Wanted Man" Nic Nemeth. He says that Nemeth is nowhere to be found and is going to suck the life out of TNA before making opportunity elsewhere. Suddenly, Nic Nemeth shows up on the video screen and says he is in New Japan as the new Global Champion, and that he cannot wait to come back and face him at Sacrifice.

In backstage footage from earlier today, Frankie Kazarian finds out from Gia Miler that he has been suspended for his actions at No Surrender. Frankie tells Gia to ask Santino Marella if he thinks this is the right thing to do.

Jake Something beats Laredo Kid.

It's time for The Sound Check. A late Alan Angels' guest backstage is Kon. Angels says he has bought the best security nobody can buy and that he is proud of what Kon is doing right now. Kon says he does not anyone leading him anywhere and that he goes where he wants, then says that he is the baddest man in TNA and that after No Surrender, PCO may still be dead. Suddenly, the lights go out, and everything is black and white when PCO shoves Angels out of the way and confronts Kon.

Before the next match, Joe Hendry states that tonight is the TNA Wrestling in-ring debut of AJ Francis, and while the two of them have not always gotten along, tonight he sympathizes as everyone is watching Francis and the pressure is running high. He says the last thing AJ Francis wants to do is flop, and therefore he wants to give Francis a warm welcome, which means nobody should chant "AJ sucks." The people chant it anyway, then Hendry apologizes and says the fans also love to chant "We Believe."

Joe Hendry and Rich Swann beat Cody Deaner and AJ Francis.

We hear from Decay (Rosemary and Havok). Rosemary says they had the element of surprise at Hard To Kill, but those powers can be so fleeting. Havok says patience is a virtue that not everyone possesses, and that they are not patient. They say they have come to a city like New Orleans where the streets are filled with darkness and spirits are invited for dinner, and Rosemary makes it clear that she and Havok want the Knockouts tag team titles again.

It is announced that Alex Hammerstone has been signed to TNA Wrestling and that he will face "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander again at Sacrifice.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander. As he talks about his match with Alex Hammerstone at Sacrifice, Dirty Dango, Oleg Prudius and Alpha Bravo show up to plug Dango's wrestling school. Alexander takes this as a challenge and leaves to set up a match for next week.

The Good Hands (John Skyler and Jason Hotch) are in the ring. John Skyler says Mustafa Ali brought the change that the X Division, TNA and the fans needed, calls Louisiana "Mississippi," then introduces Mustafa Ali to the ring. Mustafa announces that change has come to the X Division and that it all happened because the fans believed that "In Ali, we trust." He declares that as new X Division Champion, he will declare his first executive order. Suddenly, Chris Sabin shows up. Sabin demands that Mustafa leave the podium and face him like a man, then says that while they are both different, they both believe in change. Sabin says change is about selflessness, self-betterment, and accomplishing goals by believing in one's self. Mustafa then says it is all about him and that he has other people make change while he takes the credit for himself, and says that if The Good Hands were not at Mustafa's side, he would still be champion. Mustafa calls this "a slanderous accusation" and that The Good Hands are here because they support the campaign, and that there was not one soul in the building who supported him at No Surrender. Sabin says he is no politician and is not here to debate, and that he is only here to fight. He punches Mustafa in the face, and as The Good Hands hold Sabin down, KUSHIDA and Kevin Knight show up to even the numbers. The Good Hands get a beatdown as Mustafa Ali escapes with the help of his own security detail.

George Iceman introduces Ash By Elegance. Ash announces that next week, she will be having her second match in TNA Wrestling.

Backstage, Mustafa Ali is furious with The Good Hands (John Skyler and Jason Hotch) for letting Chris Sabin, KUSHIDA and Kevin Knight through and ruin everything. He says actions have consequences, then everyone leaves.

Tasha Steelz vs. Xia Brookside for a shot at the Knockouts World Championship ends in a double count-out. After the match, Jordynne Grace shows up and says she has been watching from backstage and has seen enough. She says that both of them want a title shot and that they will both get it at Sacrifice.

Backstage, we hear from Rhino, who wants Crazzy Steve in a no-disqualification match so Steve can hit him with whatever he wants while he will hit Steve with a Gore.

The System (Moose, Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers) beat ABC ("Inevitable" Ace Austin and Chris Bey) and Eric Young in a six-man tag match.

After the match, Darby Allin tries to get retribution by hitting him in the throat with his skateboard, but Jake Hager shows up and gets Guevara out of the ring before that can happen.

As he says that he can understand where Stan is coming from, Bully gets hit by a streamer just a minute or two after saying nobody can hit him with a streamer and then denies it. He says that Stan Brokey felt the need to take his team out of St. Charles, Missouri, much like he feels the need to leave here as soon as possible. He then says that he is no longer playing nice with ROH, as they cannot get rid of him due to his iron clad contract and states that someone will have to beat him to get rid of him. He then calls ROH fans the worst wrestling fans on the face of the planet, and says that even they cannot get rid of him, much like the wrestlers in the back, and that the veterans know he has dirt of them. He issues his open challenge to go home if he is beaten from last night, then says nobody wants to hire Bobby Cruise because he sucks as a ring announcer and calls everyone a disgrace. Suddenly, Caprice Coleman heads towards the ring again and says he knows that Bully Ray knows how to play everybody and that Bully Ray must also be a man of his word when it comes to leaving if he is beaten. Raw Deal - Raw recap for February 29, 2016

Triple H makes his appearance to start tonight's show. Triple H says only few have it, and the rest bow down to it. That "it" is authority, and he plays to the people's fear to being destroyed by authority in order to know their place in life. He says that Roman should have known his place, as challenging and disrespecting him has led him to sitting at home breathing through his mouth. All of a sudden, Dean Ambrose shows up. He says he just got off the phone with Roman Reigns, and says that Roman told him he's coming for Triple H. Ambrose said he wanted to talk to him Triple H last week, but all the craziness from last week put a stop to that. Ambrose wants to know who Triple H wanted to see - or not see - win the Triple Threat match at Fastlane. Triple H says he didn't see Ambrose winning, but Ambrose asks if Triple H can see him now. Triple H is convinced Ambrose is legitimately crazy, and that Triple H is smart enough not to get in the ring with someone like him because - according to Ambrose - Triple H doesn't think he can beat him. Ambrose then challenges Triple H to a match tonight for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Triple H says he's the authority figure around here, but he says he'll think about it and give him an answer by the end of the night. Ambrose says he has other things to do, and Triple H says he's right, because Ambrose is going up against Alberto Del Rio tonight in an attempt to teach him what authority is.

Charlotte watches from ringside for the next match.

Becky Lynch vs. Sasha Banks to determine a #1 contender for the WWE Divas Championship ends with both women's shoulders down on the mat after Sasha Banks hits a Sunset Flip on Becky. Becky is on top of Sasha, but since all four shoulders were down, this match is a draw.

The Wyatt Family (Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, Erick Rowan, Braun Strowman) appears. Bray thinks he is either insane or that his mind is key to saving the entire world. He asks the WWE Universe to take his hand and join him.

The Miz quickly beats Dolph Ziggler.

Stephanie McMahon shows up to accept the Vincent J. McMahon Legacy of Excellence Award as she intended to last week. She says that Shane McMahon isn't here tonight, and won't be after The Undertaker beats him at WrestleMania 32. She then tries to recite her speech for the award, but everyone keeps booing her and chanting for Shane. Stephanie McMahon finally snaps on the WWE Universe, ticked off with Shane for his actions last week and calling him a regular backstabber. She says it eats Shane alive that she wields power and that she's married to Triple H, and that the thought of working for Shane makes her want to vomit. She hopes that The Undertaker will decimate Shane and force everyone to bow down to her and Triple H.

The League of Nations (Sheamus and Rusev) beat The Lucha Dragons (Sin Cara and Kalisto) with a distraction from Alberto Del Rio. Del Rio attacks Kalisto after the match.

Renee Young interviews Natalya...and it's a plug for Subway.

WWE has surpassed 10 million subscribers on YouTube.

Ryback, now re-focused on going solo, destroys Adam Rose.

Before the next match, The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods) say they're successful because they're a brotherhood. They say they're the greatest three-man team in history and will fight anyone who says otherwise. As they talk about how they go together like other great teams (like Sonic and Tails), Chris Jericho's entrance stops them.

Chris Jericho and AJ Styles beats The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Big E) after Jericho turns a Trouble In Paradise into the Walls of Jericho. After the match, AJ Styles and Chris Jericho make it clear that "Y2AJ" is a thing and challenge The New Day to a match for the tag team titles next week.

Todd Chrisley of Chrisley Knows Best is in the front row with his youngest son.

Vince McMahon shows up. He doesn't like the idea of his son Shane McMahon running the show, and implies that he would ruin everything. He says it will never happen, and that it would take a miracle for Shane to beat The Undertaker. He loves Shane enough to teach him a lesson he'll never, ever forget, and introduces his "implement of destruction," The Undertaker. 'Taker shows up. He puts his hand on Vince's neck and tells him "You know what will happen when the door shuts behind me at WrestleMania...but the blood of your son is gonna be on your hands, not mine." 'Taker leaves. Vince says Shane has not only lost the match, but also his inheritance, which will all go to Stephanie. He even goes so far as to disown and renounce Shane as his son.

Bubba Ray Dudley beats Jey Uso thanks to the interference attempt from D-Von Dudley.

Goldust runs into R-Truth, who tells him that Golden Truth isn't going to happen. Goldust just walks away.

Country singer Randy Houser is in the front row tonight.

Big Show beats Kevin Owens after knocking him off the top rope.

Renee Young interviews Brie Bella. As Brie talks about how her family is doing, Lana shows up and makes fun of her life as of right now. Brie tells Lana to go back to her cave.

Naomi beats Brie Bella with the Slay-o-mission thanks to some help from Tamina. After the match, Lana shows up and slow claps, mocking Brie.

The Fabulous Freebirds (Michael Hayes, Buddy Roberts, Terry Gordy, Jimmy Garvin) are the next inductees to be announced for the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2016.

As Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch argue over who could have won, Charlotte shows up and says they have one more opportunity on SmackDown to decide who will be #1 contender to the Divas title. Charlotte then tells them they'll both lose regardless.

Next week: Chris Jericho and AJ Styles vs. The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods) for the WWE Tag Team Championships! Shane McMahon also makes an appearance!

Dean Ambrose vs. Alberto Del Rio ends when Triple H shows up and sics The League of Nations (Sheamus, Del Rio, Rusev, King Barrett) on him. Triple H tells Dean he should know that he can never win against The Authority, which causes Dean Ambrose to throw punches at Triple H until he gets hit with a Pedigree. Triple H tells him he has his championship match, and as he leaves the ring, Dean Ambrose thanks Triple H through the microphone. Triple H then returns to the ring to do even more damage to Ambrose, and officials have to pull him off of Ambrose.

Here are the top 10 moments from tonight's show!
