Collision Course - Collision recap for August 9, 2025

Paul Walter Hauser guests on commentary this week.

"The Protostar" Kyle Fletcher retains the TNT Championship against Tomohiro Ishii. After the match, Kyle Fletcher says this match will go down as the start of the greatest TNT Championship reign in history. He calls Ishii the latest bonafide legend that he has mopped the floor with, then focuses on Forbidden Door. Kyle Fletcher then issues an open challenge for the TNT Championship at Forbidden Door , then says that whoever he faces, he will hold the TNT Championship high above his head and everyone will have no choice but to say his name.

Backstage, we hear from Don Callis, who congratulates "The Protostar" Kyle Fletcher on his recent win before sending a message to the management of New Japan Pro Wrestling, demanding an opponent for Fletcher to beat so he can choke them to oblivion with his tie.

In backstage footage from earlier today, Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona) and Ricochet are seen attacking numerous people before Ricochet states that his patience is wearing thin and demands that AEW give them what they want before they take it.

Kip Sabian says that while Christian Cage respected them for standing up to him, he did not respect them for questioning. Nick Wayne says Christian tells lies that only he wants to hear and that he only told the truth when he said he had all it took to be a star. He then says he is already a shooting star ready to soar, then states that we have not seen anything yet and declares that their next chapter is ending the career of Christian Cage.

Near the end of the match, Bishop Kaun gets on the apron, and when Austin Gunn pulls him down, he gets pounced on by Toa Liona. As the referee is pre-occupied with the action outside of the ring, Big Bill shows up and hits Juice Robinson with a big boot, allowing Ricochet to get the win.

We see a video package of statistics for Athena's career in All Elite Wrestling and Ring of Honor so far.
