Final iMPACT! - iMPACT! recap for August 29, 2024

AJ Francis guests on commentary for the next match.

"Speedball" Mike Bailey retains the TNA X Division Championship against Rich Swann after Trent Seven knocks AJ Francis out at ringside. During the match, The Rascalz (Trey Miguel and Zachary Wentz) are seen watching the match from the skybox.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Jordynne Grace. Jordynne says she is all about giving people opportunities ever since she became champion, and that Ash By Elegance is lucky to get two of them. She admits she does not know what a "Match By Elegance" is, but she will beat Ash and walk out as champion.

Before the next match, Joe Hendry says he would usually make fun of Brian Myers, but he has heard a rumor that there are people who respect Myers, and in the interest of fairness, asks people not to chant "Edge's Bitch." He then realizes nobody respects Myers, and that those who truly mean respect chant "We believe."

Joe Hendry beats Brian Myers. After the match, Myers and Eddie Edwards (who has been ejected from ringside alongside Alisha Edwards for getting physically involved) attack Hendry, then Mike Santana shows up to start the next match. (During the AXS TV broadcast, picture in picture accidentally starts early, which causes the finish to happen simultaneously with the commercials, and the picture-in-picture break announced during the next match does not happen.)

We hear from Matt Cardona, who announces that he is still not medically cleared to compete after tweaking a pec and cannot wrestle at Emergence. Director of Authority Santino Marella thinks Cardona is up to something, but Cardona blames Santino's doctors and says he has a mystery opponent for PCO. Santino gets mad at Cardona and says he will not get away with this.

Steve Maclin guests on commentary for the next match.

Hammerstone beats Eric Young after Eric Young confronts Steve Maclin on the outside.

Before the next match, Cody Deaner says that tonight, the fans have a choice. Jake Something stops him, saying it is not about the people, but about the two of them ruling over the tag division, and calls out ABC ("Inevitable" Ace Austin and Chris Bey) for the next match.

ABC ("Inevitable" Ace Austin and Chris Bey) beat Cody Deaner and Jake Something. After the match, Fir$t Cla$$ (AJ Francis and Rich Swann) attack ABC and Cody Deaner. Jake Something walks away instead of getting involved.

The personal concierge George Iceman is seen talking with Alisha Edwards and Masha Slamovich backstage before the next match.

Jordynne Grace retains the TNA Knockouts World Championship against Ash By Elegance in a Match By Elegance following a Muscle Buster through a table, after Rosemary chases George Iceman to the back and Spitfire (Dani Luna and Jody Threat) show up to fight Alisha Edwards and Masha Slamovich when they also get involved in the match.

Matthew Rehwoldt moderates one more meeting between "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander and "The Wanted Man" Nic Nemeth - which has a no-contact clause - before their Iron Man Match for the TNA World Championship at Emergence. Alexander says everyone, including Nemeth, is on his time from now on, as he has done everything under TNA's terms and he will take the world title on his terms now. Nemeth says he is happy and overjoyed to have a world title in his hands, and while he respects what Alexander has done, he feels lucky to win the championship and says that he is a fighting champion. He also wants to know why everyone knows his name but nobody knows Alexander's, and also says Alexander could have walked up to him, looked him in the eye and demanded for a championship match. When asked what has gone wrong, Alexander says everything - fans, management, everything but him - has gone wrong, and says that nobody is champion until they beat him. He also says people like Nemeth show up and have the welcome mat rolled out for them and also calls this part of the problem, and says that tomorrow night, the TNA World Championship will be back on his waist and TNA will be better off for it. Nemeth says Alexander is the same old guy and that the business always changes and that one must improve every single day, not refer back to the history books, as this is what the business is every day. This leads to a heated argument between Alexander and Nemeth, with Alexander saying he is "the fucking standard" while Nemeth states that he is now the best and that he will fight to the death to stay champion.
