Those Dynamite Kids - Dynamite recap for August 7, 2024

Don Callis guests on commentary for the next match.

MJF beats Kyle Fletcher in an AEW American Championship Eliminator Match. During the match, Don Callis throws a screwdriver to Kyle Fletcher and distracts the referee, but Fletcher throws the screwdriver away. MJF hits a low blow, a mocking Kangaroo Kick and a sheer drop brainbuster. After the match, Will Ospreay runs to the ring after finding out road crates blocked the door from where he watched the match.. MJF then blasts referee Paul Turner in the face with the American Championship, then lays out Fletcher with the Dynamite Diamond Ring. MJF then bloodies Fletcher's forehead and says the blood is on Ospreay's hand, then proceeds to hit Fletcher with the Tiger Driver '91. As MJF calls for the move, Ospreay runs into the ring, and MJF flees through the crowd. Ospreay then calls for medical help for Ospreay.

"The Glamour" Mariah May beats Viva Van. After the match, Mariah May is handed a gift, which ends up being a picture of "Timeless" Toni Storm hugging Mariah May. On the back of the picture, it says "DIE MARIAH DIE." Mariah is then attacked from behind by Toni, but Mariah fights back. Mariah is about to use a white high-heeled shoe as a weapon, but Toni wrestles it away, and referees and security stop Toni from using it against Mariah as they try to stop the brawl.

We see footage of "Scapegoat" Jack Perry looking at footage of Darby Allin before smashing all the monitors with a hammer.

We hear from Darby Allin, who says that "Scapegoat" Jack Perry has had every excuse not to show on TV, but has to show up at All In.

"The Wrestler" Katsuyori Shibata beats "The Bad Apple" Bryan Keith with the cross arm breaker. After the match, Big Bill attacks Shibata from behind, and Chris Jericho joins in. Hook runs into the ring, and The Learning Tree is forced to retreat.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Orange Cassidy, who says that he will still have his match and has found some "local boys" who are willing to team with him.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews "Hangman" Adam Page. Hangman says there has been one thing and one man that he wants to leave nothing but the ashes of his pride, but others have gotten in his way and justice delayed is justice denied. He says that he will soon have what he wants.

In footage from earlier today, Jim Ross is seen interviewing Swerve Strickland in a sit-down interview. Swerve says that the path to the World Championship means the world to him and has changed him as an individual. He says that if you aren't allowed in when you knock on the door long enough, you must make noise. As for Bryan Danielson, it is all about his legacy for him, and that he needs something to wake up in the morning for and to fight for. Swerve says he is in the driver's seat now and that he controls the narrative, and that this not only worries Danielson, but everyone else. He also says he does not care much about Danielson. He says that people love to brag about the pain they can induce, then asks what happens when nothing works because their body cannot work. Swerve then says he will beat Danielson at All In, as his legacy belongs to him now.

Orange Cassidy's tag team partners for the next match are revealed to be FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler), who show up with sunglasses and denim jackets (with Harwood wearing Bret Hart-style shades).

Orange Cassidy and FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) beat Roderick Strong, Rush and The Beast Mortos in a trios match. (Mark Briscoe and Kyle O'Reilly were Orange Cassidy's partners for the match, but were unable to make it due to travel issues.) After the match, The Acclaimed ("Platinum" Max Caster and Anthony Bowens) show up, but Max Caster's microphone fails to work. Dax Harwood says he has all the respect in the world for what The Acclaimed have done for AEW as security shows up, and then says that he wants a fight. Security gets between both teams as they try to brawl.

Backstage, we hear from The Patriarchy (Christian Cage, "The Prodigy" Nick Wayne, Killswitch, Mama Wayne). Christian Cage says that The House of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King, Buddy Matthews) and The Bang Bang Gang ("Rock Hard" Juice Robinson, Austin Gunn, Colten Gunn) are wanting the World Trios titles, and that he has made some calls and talked to some people and that both teams will face off to become #1 contenders. Christian says that he has also raised the stakes, as the winners will face The Patriarchy for the World Trios Championships at All In. He also says that he will be special guest referee for the #1 contenders' match at Collision, as both teams will squabble and will be in need of a father figure.

We see a video package for Hologram.

Kamille beats Jazmyne Hao and Clara Carter in a two-on-one handicap match. After the match, Kamille throws both of her opponents out of the ring, then Mercedes Moné says Dr. Britt Baker is suspended and that they will not have to deal with her until All In. Mercedes reiterates that Britt is not here, then says Britt may be the first, but not the best, and that she herself is the best in AEW. All of a sudden, Tony Schiavone interrupts and tells Mercedes that Britt Baker's suspension has been lifted and overruled by Tony Khan as per Interim EVP Christopher Daniels. Britt appears on the video screen and says Mercedes cannot stop her and that she will see things through to the end, unlike Mercedes, who takes her ball and goes home when things do not go her way. She says AEW is flavor of the month for Mercedes while it is home for her, and that this ends at All In when she becomes TBS Champion and the first to beat Mercedes Moné. She then says she has a week to figure out how to get her hands on her.

Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat guests on commentary for the next match.

"The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson beats Jeff Jarrett in an Anything Goes Match after hitting Jarrett with a metal folding chair with the Busaiku Knee. After the match, Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat raises both Danielson and Jarrett's hands, and Danielson and Jarrett show a post-match sign of respect before Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana arrive. Swerve says everyone just witnessed three legends of wrestling on TBS, and names himself one of them instead of Danielson as he says that they have defined pro wrestling on the TBS Network. He then says that unlike him, Danielson has never been a world champion on TBS, and that the only thing standing in the way of that is. He says Danielson is one of the best of all time, and that it will be an honor to beat and retire him and make his legacy his. He also says that he will not hesitate to take that killshot, and that if Jarrett has left him wobbling, then he can imagine what he will do to him. Swerve then decides he wants a warm-up match, and proposes that he step in the ring with Wheeler Yuta. Swerve says he wants Danielson to have a front row seat when he shows that he is the most dangerous man in AEW.

Here are the highlights from tonight's show!
