Raw Deal - Raw recap for October 20, 2025

General Manager Adam Pearce is in the ring to start tonight's show. Before he can provide an update concerning last week, a black GMC Denali drives in, and out comes The Vision (Bron Breakker, "Big" Bronson Reed, "The Oracle" Paul Heyman). Bron Breakker is holding the World Heavyweight Championship. The Vision make their way to the ring, and Pearce chews them out for what they did to Seth "Freakin'" Rollins at the end of last week's show, and states that Rollins has undertaken major surgery and will be on the shelf for some time. Pearce strips Seth "Freakin'" Rollins of the World Heavyweight Championship, then announces that a new World Heavyweight Champion will be crowned at Saturday Night's Main Event. He announces that there will be an over-the-top-rope battle royal with the winner facing CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship at Saturday Night's Main Event, and that the battle royal will happen tonight. Pearce then demands Breakker hand over the World Heavyweight Championship, but Breakker asks "What happens if I don't?" before demanding respect from Pearce after having a word with Heyman. Pearce respectfully requests Breakker to hand over the title, but Breakker demands Pearce say "Please." Pearce asks Breakker to hand it over again, this time not so nicely while still saying "Please." Breakker hands the title over to Heyman, who glances at the World Heavyweight Championship before handing it to Pearce. Pearce then leaves with the World Heavyweight title. Heyman then asks why everyone is mad at The Vision and asks what they did to deserve it, saying he did what he did at WrestleMania because he believes that Bron Breakker is the future and that Bronson is better than Roman Reigns. He says that Bronson proved that at Crown Jewel, then mentions Seth pointing to the sign and says he could not shoulder the responsibility of leading The Vision into the future, calling him "a bum shoulder bitch." Heyman states that winners write history and that Bronson and Breakker are winners, and states that while he is a kind and gentle oracle, Bronson and Breakker pulled the trigger to become WrestleMania main eventers. He calls this not a rewrite of history, but a revision of the future, then thanks the fans for their time before welcoming them to the show.

Backstage, The Judgment Day (Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, Raquel Rodriguez) has faith that Roxanne Perez will win the World Heavyweight Championship. Jimmy tells Jey to figure things out before the battle royal, because he is going in on everyone, including him. Jey asks Jimmy if everything is cool, to which Jimmy says yes.

"Dirty" Dominik Mysterio retains the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Rusev. During the match, Penta stops Dominik from escaping. Rusev sends Dominik into Penta, and that allows Dominik to put the ring bell hammer in one of his boots. Rusev is able to avoid the 619 and find the hammer in his boot, but the ref takes the hammer away as Rusev tries to attack Dominik with it. Heyman says "please," then Adam Pearce says it is still not happening. Pearce shuts his door, then turns around and runs right into Becky Lynch. He tells Becky that Breakker and Bronson conspired against Seth "Freakin'" Rollins and that he had to put himself between them. He also tells her that he put himself in harm's way, then tells Becky that The Vision (Breakker, Bronson, Heyman) still has a spot for her. Becky grabs Heyman by the tie and tells him that she is not buying this, and warns Heyman that Seth saw this coming. She then warns him that Seth is going to go after anyone he attaches himself to and make Heyman wish he was going after him.

Nikki tells Vaquer that she has taken the women's division to the next level and is now champion, and asks her to be cautious, because she has a target on her back and anyone can take her out. Stephanie tells Nikki she owes her one, and Nikki says she will take her up on that, having now made two new enemies.

CM Punk guests on commentary for the next match.

"Main Event" Jey Uso last eliminates "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio to win a battle royal and face CM Punk for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship at Saturday Night's Main Event. During the match, Jimmy Uso and LA Knight tumble over the top rope at the same time as Jimmy tries to clothesline Knight over the top rope before Jey can save Jimmy. After the match, Jimmy Uso is none too pleased about being eliminated before Jey Uso and CM Punk have a staredown in the middle of the ring to end the show.

When Roman does not immediately show up, Knight confronts Heyman regarding what he said Roman will do to him. We hear from Frankie Kazarian, who says that respect is earned, not given, in professional wrestling and that while Jack Evans has his respect, but like Evans, he has been underutilized and has always been the bridesmaid and never the bride, even though has helped build companies from the ground up and has won multiple championships and has been in the business for more than two decades. Kazarian says he has worked too hard not to be on top of the industry, and tonight, his road to AEW gold starts with Jack Evans.

Frankie Kazarian beats Jack Evans. During the match, Angelico tries to interfere only to be knocked out of his shoes while being knocked off the ring apron. Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for October 20, 2020

Hernandez beats Rhino, Alisha, Cousin Jake and Heath in a five-way match to enter the Call Your Shot Gauntlet Match at Bound For Glory at #20, while Rhino - who is pinned by Hernandez with a schoolkid pin after inadvertently hitting Alisha with a Gore after Hernandez inadvertently dodges it upon getting slapped in the face by Alisha - enters at #1.

We see a video package of what has happened recently between Moose and EC3.

Jimmy Jacobs interviews Moose. Moose walks out of the interview after saying that EC3 will not be happy after he is done with him at Bound For Glory, then three men in EC3 jackets show up, put a bag over Jacobs' head and place him in a black vehicle.

Backstage, John E. Bravo is ticked off that he has nothing for the wedding with only week to go, and Kaleb - Tenille Dashwood's photographer - is revealed as the photographer for the wedding. Taya Valkyrie shows up to an angry John E. Bravo, who walks out of the room ready to give up.

We heat from Deonna Purrazzo, who says that Impact Wrestling has been the place to be for the last nearly twenty years for women's wrestling to be taken seriously, and says that at Bound For Glory, she will rise to the pressure, and that Kylie Rae cannot do the same. She says that it will not take long for her to get Kylie Rae to become unhinged and make rash decisions and mistakes, and that she will not only celebrate a victory, but become delighted that Kylie Rae lost.

Rosemary beats Havok. As per pre-match stipulation, Havok must help Rosemary bring Father James Mitchell back from the dead for her wedding with John E. Bravo. (Had Havok won, Rosemary would have to leave Havok alone, and Father James Mitchell would stay dead.)

We see a vignette chronicling the recent events between The North ("All Ego" Ethan Page and "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander) and The Good Brothers ("The Big LG" Doc Gallows and "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson).

We see a commercial for Talk 'n Shop: Full Keg, airing tonight at 10 PM Eastern on AXS TV.

We hear from Kylie Rae, who says that while Deonna Purrazzo is a good wrestler, they won't know who the best is until their match. Kylie Rae says she is going to beat Deonna for the Knockouts Championship, despite Deonna's ways to throw her off of her game. Kylie admits that her anger sometimes gets the best of her, and says that she tries to be a good person at the end of the day. She says that Deonna made their match personal when she broke Susie's arm, but it will not be revenge when she beats Deonna for the title.

The men in the EC3 jackets take Jimmy Jacobs out of the van and take him into another building where the bag is removed. He is then met by EC3, who says there is nowhere to go and that it is just the two of them.

After the commercial break, EC3 tells Jimmy Jacobs that they are captives in their own narratives and that right now, Jacobs is in his. EC3 says that narratives change, as his adversary has emerged, and while all of him is wounded, he lives with those wounds everyday. EC3 says he saw the Moose that Moose should always have been and has the potential to be, and saw that potential in Moose's eyes when Moose hit him as hard as he could. He then says Moose's narrative is his to control, not Moose's. He says that Moose must learn what he must become, but he must learn that lesson by his hands in order to destroy his past and burn its legacy to the ground. EC3 says he must beat Moose inside his own narrative in order to fulfill his purpose, and says that the only glory at Bound For Glory is when he burns the TNA World Heavyweight Championship and its legacy into dust. He congratulates Moose on becoming what he must be, then tells Moose he has been warned.

Sami Callihan beats Eddie Edwards after Sami Callihan turns the lights off, which causes Ken Shamrock to appear after the lights come back on. Sami Callihan then pins a distracted Eddie Edwards with a schoolkid pin to win the match. We see a video package chronicling the recent events between Rich Swann and Eric Young.

Eric Young is interviewed. He says he has tried to give people an easy path and a means to avoid him, but nobody is learning. He says that if anyone wants to break his boundaries, they will have to live with the consequences like he has done through his career. He says that people have learned the hard way and that bodies will continue to pile up if this continues, and says that he is now angry and has a purpose and a target, and knows what has to be done regarding Rich Swann. As Young says that Swann's actions will be his responsibility, he is suddenly attacked by Eric Young, who take their brawl outside of the building until the camera capturing everything is knocked out.

The North ("All Ego" Ethan Page and "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander) vs. The Good Brothers ("The Big LG" Doc Gallows and "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson) ends in a no-contest after both teams brawl in the ring and refuses to listen to the referee. After the match, Ace Austin and Madman Fulton show up to attack The North, then The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley) show up to attack Austin and Fulton. The Good Brothers and The Motor City Machine Guns are the only two teams left in the ring, and The Good Brothers attack the Machine Guns in the end to end the show.

The North ("All Ego" Ethan Page and "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander) retain the Impact Wrestling Tag Team Championships against the team of Rich Swann and Willie Mack and the team of Rhino and Rob Van Dam after RVD superkicks Rhino as Rhino goes for a Gore before superkicking everyone else, allowing The North to retain.

Honor Roll - Ring of Honor recap for October 20, 2018

Jay Lethal says Matt Taven has a problem with the fans and the management, and that Taven now has a problem with him after carrying around a fake world title and laying his hands on him after Death Before Dishonor. Taven may be the one with the problem, but he will be the one to solve it.

Matt Taven tells Jay Lethal it is nothing personal, and that he is the real world champion.

Backstage, The Briscoes (Jay and Mark Briscoe) tell Coast To Coast (Shaheem Ali and LSG) they warned them that they would beat them, and brag about being the winningest tag team champions of all time.

Jeff Cobb beats Punishment Martinez to become the ROH World Television Champion in his ROH debut match.

Tenille Dashwood shows up. She announces that not only has she had a shoulder injury for the past six months, but she also has an autoimmune disease that has consumed her entire body. She admits that not being able to do what she loves pains her. She also mentions being attacked from behind at Death Before Dishonor, saying she does not know who forced her onto the sidelines and that she cannot do anything about it until she heals. She intends to take some time off, but she will return to confront whoever attacked her from behind and says that if she was able to wrestle at 50%, then she will do more at 100%.

"Hangman" Adam Page has Scorpio Sky next week, and unlike Page - who proclaims Las Vegas, Nevada as a favorite place of his after he nearly beat Jay Briscoe and also outran a kidnapper there - Scorpio Sky will consider Las Vegas, Nevada the worst town he has ever been in.

Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for October 20, 2016

Cody Rhodes shows up to start tonight's show. He says that tonight is something significant, as he competes for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. He talks about the time he was fifteen years old, when he was riding with his father and hero Dusty Rhodes and was about to tell him he wanted to be a professional wrestler. Dusty told him "Okay...but only if you're the best." Cody promises to become TNA World Heavyweight Champion. Eddie Edwards shows up, and tells Cody that he and the crowd respect him, and now that Cody has re-invented himself, he is who he wants to be in TNA, and says the crowd respects him for being himself, too. He then asks Cody: "Do you truly know who you really are?" Cody says he knows, and that Eddie will know when he beats him for the World title tonight. Eddie says it's not when, but if, and he plans to prove his World title win was no fluke and that he is worthy of the title, and that if he has to beat Cody to prove he is worthy, so be it. Cody and Eddie stare down, but that stops when Lashley arrive. Lashley says he sees a future headline: him destroying the winner of the World title match, as neither man is a real fighter like him. Whoever stands in his way will get hurt. Moose shows up ready to face Lashley.

Lashley beats Moose to become #1 contender for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

Jeremy Borash interviews The Tribunal (Basile Baraka and Baron Dax). Baraka says that they wanted to get Billy Corgan's attention, and ask Corgan if they have it now. Baron Dax says that The Hardys (Broken Matt Hardy and Brother Nero) are weak, and that The Great War is over. As he continues to speak, static cuts in and we see The DCC. The DCC says that nobody is safe and that chaos arrives tonight.

Tyrus is...The Fixer...

It's time for Fact of Life with Eli Drake. Tonight's guest is Aron Rex, who says that the Impact Grand Championship means more to him than anything else, and loves what he's going to create in TNA. Eli Drake says he didn't like Aron Rex when he first showed up, but respects him for what he's done with the Impact Grand Championship. Aron Rex congratulates Eddie Edwards for winning the World title, but reminds us that he beat him for the Impact Grand Championship, which makes him the guy around here. He also treats Jessie Godderz like he is no competition. Eli Drake says he's the one Bound For Gold and bound for the World title, and says that if he's Bound For Gold, Ethan Carter III is bound for the toilet. EC3 shows up, ready to pounce on Eli Drake, and Eli Drake cuts to a commercial break.

After the break, Ethan Carter III says he will destory the Fact of Life set if given the chance. Eli Drake is ticked off, and Ethan Carter III challenges him to a fight. If he doesn't he'll fight him. He dares him to press the "Dummy Button" again. He presses the dummy button, and EC3 and Eli Drake fight each other until security separates both men.

The Hardys ("Broken" Matt Hardy and Brother Nero) say that The Tribunal (Basile Baraka and Baron Dax) will fade away and classify themsleves as obsolete. Matt views The Tribunal's actions as taking food off their children's plates, and sentences them to deletion.

The Broken Hardys ("Broken" Matt Hardy and Brother Nero) retain the TNA World Tag Team Championships against The Tribunal (Basile Baraka and Baron Dax).

The DCC are back..and now they're in the ring. Three masked men attack The Tribunal (Basile Baraka and Baron Dax) as The Broken Hardys ("Broken" Matt Hardy and Brother Nero) watch. They then point at the Hardys.

Braxton Sutter talks to Allie, who has clearly had enough of Maria Kanellis-Bennett. Sutter tells Allie that she isn't to blame for what she has to go through. Laurel Van Ness shows up and tells Sutter "you don't have to be nice to her," before telling Allie that Maria has something for her and implies that she should she her right now.

We see an advertisement for "The Fixer" Tyrus again.

The DCC have another video message: this attack was just the start. They won't be stopped. No one is safe.

Lashley meets Cody Rhodes backstage. He says he doesn't get the hype, but wishes Cody luck tonight. Cody says he doesn't need his luck, and neither does Eddie Edwards. Lashley tells Cody that Eddie will get what he deserves, and that he will too if he doesn't watch is mouth. He then tells Cody he just might see him next week, but regardless, their paths will cross again sooner than later.

Maria Kanellis-Bennett, Allie and Laurel Van Ness show up. Maria says she is not leader of the Knockouts Division as there is a conspiracy theory against her and that she could blame anybody...so she blames Allie. Laurel Van Ness decides to push the psychological torture further and says "People like them should be serving people like us." Maria tells Allie to say that she is to blame, but Allie tells Marie that she is to blame for her own troubles, not her. Maria says that Allie should be taught a lesson, and Laurel Van Ness attacks her from behind. Maria then tells Allie that she had better become a fighter, as she will face Laurel Van Ness in a wrestling match next week.

Lashley confronts Eddie Edwards backstage. He tells Eddie this all ends tonight. Eddie dares Lashley to bet against him, as he beat him for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship and that he is not afraid of him. Lashley says everybody should be afraid of him.

Tyrus tells Mahabali Shera to follow the path he blazes for him so he can become a top guy, and has set him up with a top guy to fight to see if he can stack up. That man, while not mentioned by name, is obviously "The Miracle" Mike Bennett.

"The Miracle" Mike Bennett" beats Mahabali Shera.

Ethan Carter III and Jessie Godderz challenge Eli Drake and Aron Rex to a tag team match next week.

Mackenzie Mitchell interviews DJ Z. He says that Team X Gold is bringing together all sorts of different wrestlers who are willing to team up and prove they're the best. Rockstar Spud shows up and asks why he hasn't been asked to participate, and DJ Z tells Spud nobody likes him. Spud says he's got his own team, and they will be here next week. He says they are better than X...better than Y...better than Z.

We see a video package of the events leading up to tonight's main event.

Eddie Edwards retains the TNA World Heavyweight Championship against Cody Rhodes by rolling Cody up in an inside cradle after Cody hits him with a top rope superplex. Both men shake hands and raise each other's arms in victory after the match. After Eddie Edwards leaves, Maria shows up and pulls Cody's wife Brandi off the apron and tosses her into the steel steps before running back to "The Miracle" Mike Bennett.

Raw Deal - Raw recap for October 20, 2014

As Triple H, Kane, Randy Orton and Seth Rollins approach the ring, the Cell lowers a bit. HHH announces the 3-on-2 handicap street fight between the team of John Cena and Dean Ambrose and the team of Seth Rollins, Randy Orton and Kane that will happen later tonight before talking about Hell in a Cell. Rollins says he should be called the "undisputed future champion of the WWE," while Orton says his match is the real main event. HHH puts the emphasis back on "double main event," and also decrees that the winner of John Cena vs. Randy Orton at Hell in a Cell will be a #1 Contender's Match where the winner will go on to face Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. HHH tells Orton and Rollins to make him proud, and Kane's pyro hits to end the opening.

The Miz guests on commentary after ordering Damien Mizdow to take his place for the next match.

Damien Mizdow and Gold & Stardust (Goldust and Stardust) get a surprise win on Sheamus and The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso).

Randy Orton thanks Triple H for the #1 contender's match stipulation for his match with John Cena at Hell in a Cell, then Triple H tells him it was all Seth Rollins' idea. Orton plans to thank Seth personally.

Paige guests on commentary for the next match.

Alicia Fox beats AJ Lee after Paige pretends to turn on Fox and yells at AJ from outside the ring, causing Fox to take advantage of the distraction and get the win.

Randy Orton thanks Seth Rollins for his idea, but it becomes apparent that Seth Rollins is looking out for himself more than Orton and is planning to take advantage of it all by cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase.

Randy Orton shows up. He talks down to John Cena (as well as the Kansas City Royals) before saying that at the end of the day, he's going to become victorious at Hell in a Cell. John Cena shows up, makes fun of everything Orton says, then says he plans to win on Sunday and take on Brock Lesnar. Suddenly, Paul Heyman shows up and says that whoever wins between Orton and Cena will be destroyed by Brock Lesnar. John Cena then nearly hits Paul Heyman with an Attitude Adjustment, but Cena puts him down. This leads to a RKO out of nowhere by Orton, followed by Heyman suffering the same fate.

Rusev beats Big E with the Accolade. After the match, Rusev and Lana pledge to destroy Big Show at Hell in a Cell. When the Russian flag is supposed to come down, it doesn't. Big Show appears on the TitanTron, and the American flag comes down instead. When Rusev tries to pull it down, an American soldier tries to stop him only to be cut down by Rusev. Two men in suits rush in after the soldier is kicked in the face, and Rusev and Lana hastily retreat.

Big Show is in the ring after helping the soldier who was kicked in the face to the back. Show tells Rusev that his attempt to get into his head will not work, and come Hell in a Cell, Rusev's fifteen minutes of fame in the WWE are up. He wants Rusev now, and when Rusev doesn't show up when he calls him out, he searches for Rusev in the back. When he kicks down the door to Rusev's dressing room, Lana and Rusev are nowhere to be found.

John Cena catches Dean Ambrose watching See No Evil 2 in the back prior to their match tonight. Ambrose compares John Cena to Superman and likens himself to Batman, then explains that his gameplan is for them to take Randy Orton, Seth Rollins and Kane along with them. Cena then tells Ambrose that "the whole Batman thing does not fit him" and that he's "more like the Joker." Ambrose replies with a "Why so serious?"

Brie Bella beats Summer Rae.

Dean Ambrose shows up with two big bags. One of them contains a mannequin dressed like Seth Rollins, which he berates while tearing it apart with multiple household objects such as a hammer, a screwdriver and a pair of tongs. Seth Rollins shows up with Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble, then proceeds to make fun of Ambrose and berate the Kansas City crowd. When Rollins says he's going to beat Ambrose on Sunday, a special guest graces the show...Mick Foley, who shows up to "revisit an old friend" and said he knew the day where Ambrose and Rollins would have the ultimate showdown would come..and that under normal circumstances, Rollins would come out victorious. Rollins has respect for Foley after this...until Foley says he would come out victorious if the normal circumstances didn't involve Hell in a Cell. Foley gives some advice about Hell in a Cell, and Ambrose seemingly finds a kindred spirit in Foley before saying he's ready for this Sunday. Rollins begs to differ, saying he's smarter than Ambrose and that it's the smarter man who will win. Foley then says that their match will define Ambrose's and Rollins' careers the same way the Hell in a Cell match he had with Undertaker defined his. After Foley leaves, Rollins retreats only to be knocked off the apron by the broken Seth Rollins mannequin.

Cesaro beats Dolph Ziggler. After the match, Cesaro hits Ziggler with a Neutralizer.

Saturday Morning Slam Masters - Saturday Morning Slam recap for October 20, 2012

Santino Marella guests on commentary this week.

"The Glamazon" Beth Phoenix tell us: Don't Try This.

Zack Ryder beats Justin Gabriel with an off-camera Rough Ryder. Both men shake hands and show respect after the match.

On this week's Video Vault, we see some of the most slithery Superstars in WWE history: Jake "The Snake" Roberts, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and Randy Orton.

We hear from Randy Orton. We learn that his nickname "The Viper" comes from his fascination with reptiles.

Daniel Bryan beats Tyson Kidd. Early in the match, Daniel Bryan tries to get out of the match after Tyson Kidd grabs his beard, but Kane shows up and tells Daniel Bryan to get back in the ring. When he does, Tyson Kidd picks him up, but Daniel Bryan escapes and puts Tyson Kidd in an airplane spin. Shortly afterwards, Daniel Bryan rolls himself into a ball, and when Tyson Kidd tries to pin him, he cannot pin his shoulders to the mat. Daniel Bryan extends his hand, and Tyson Kidd grabs it. Daniel Bryan drags him to the mat, then gets him with a crucifix pin as part of a match called "The Lady of the Lake." After the match, Kane takes his half of the WWE Tag Team Championships and celebrates with both belts. Daniel tries to get his belt back, but Kane uses his sheer size to keep Daniel from grabbing it. Kane reluctantly gives his belt back to him, then both men argue over who is the tag team champions as the show ends.

Now go watch Daniel Bryan go to anger management!

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for October 20, 1997

The show begins with The New World Order laid out. Spray painted on the concrete floor is "DDP," and a black baseball bat and a "Rowdy" Roddy Piper shirt are also found on the floor. A spray paint outline is found around where Curt Hennig is laying. The nWo is outraged, and "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff take that rage to the ring along with "Macho Man" Randy Savage, who shows up with a black baseball bat as Bischoff says the bat is proof of who attacked them. He calls Piper scum, says Sting left his fingerprints all over that attack and that Diamond Dallas Page painted his initials in blood. We see that there is a cage above the arena as Hogan says that the crap stops here and calls out Piper, Page and Sting. He also says that he plans to beat Sting to death with his own bat once he gets his hands on Piper and Savage beats up DDP.

Eddie Guerrero retains the WCW Cruiserweight Championship against "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit.

It is announced that even though Diamond Dallas Page beat Curt Hennig last week, Curt Hennig retains the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship by disqualification due to the interference of "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, who rushed into the ring as soon as referee Randy Anderson counted three.

Bill Goldberg beats Wrath in mere seconds before Wrath can take off his mask and cape. A stunned James Vandenberg is beyond words. After the match, Goldberg simply says "Who's next? Who's next? That's all I've got to say! Who's next?" As Steve "Mongo" McMichael shows up for his match, he and Goldberg stare down before Goldberg heads to the back.

Steve "Mongo" McMichael beats Mortis after knocking James Vandenberg off the apron. "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Mongo after the match, and Debra McMichael shows up as Mongo says he doesn't care who his Halloween Havoc opponent is, complaining that Mongo is taking away his TV time. Debra refuses to give any hints on who Mongo's opponent will b, and tells him she can hire anybody with her looks and her money. Mongo tears up a sign being held by Stevie Richards in the front row on his way out.

Raven is seen in an abandoned, broken-down playground, and he gives us the following message: "All the joy, all the fun, all the excitement of childhood took place here. This is what every kid looked forward to: recess. Every kid could not wait to get here. Couldn't wait to get beaten up by the bullies. Couldn't wait to get teased and humiliated. Couldn't wait to get out here so they could be chosen last for all the tears. This is where all the fun of childhood took place. The only thing I remember rivaling that was one time, during my parent's attempted reconciliation, they took me skiing. And as I stood atop the mountain and looked across at another snow-covered hill, I saw my reflection...and then a landslide brought it down. You see, scars are souvenirs you never lose. The past is never far. But what do you do? What do you do when all your memories are razor blades? When everything you can possibly remember hurts? What do you do? Quoth the Raven, nevermore."

This Saturday on WCW Saturday Night: A Malenko! Ray Traylor! Bill Goldberg! Ultimo Dragon! The Giant!

Mike Tenay's report on Lucha Libra and the Mexican Luchadores continues with the story of Rey Mysterio Jr. Rey introduces us to the barrio, tells us about how proud his uncle, the original Rey Mysterio, has passed the mask on to him and is happy to bring the tradition over to the States. He also talks about his mask, which might come off is he does not take the WCW Cruiserweight Championship from Eddie Guerrero at Halloween Havoc, and is afraid that if it comes off, he will lose not only his identity but also his career.

Yuji Nagata beats Juventud Guerrera with the Nagata lock, then chases Sonny Onoo around the ring before being attacked by both Nagata and Onoo before Nagata applies the Nagata Lock to Ultimo Dragon. Raven is seen in the crowd during the match. After the match, Raven is seen with Stevie Richards and Perry Saturn in the front row.

The Giant shows up after Villano IV, Villano V and Damian enter the ring, and it is noted that The Giant is not scheduled to appear tonight. The Giant takes the microphone and calls out Kevin Nash, saying he's not really hurt and that he's really hiding. He tells Nash he's not the big man in WCW and that there is only one giant in professional wrestling, and he's looking at him. He tells Nash to get ready as he's coming for him. Damian then decides to pick a fight with The Giant and gets knocked out. Villano IV and V don't fare much better, as Villano V gets choke slammed and Villano IV gets powerbombed after The Giant grabs the microphone again and says "Kevin Nash...this is how you be a giant."

We see a performance by The Nitro Girls.

Raven and his unknown flunky are seen in the front row before the next match.

Rey Mysterio Jr. beats Disco Inferno by disqualification after Eddie Guerrero attacks Rey and tries to take his mask off. As the ref is preoccupied with Rey and Eddie, Jacqueline runs into the ring and pulls Disco off the second rope. She then goes after Disco as he tries to leave, and he tries to run to the back only to get beaten up again. Pyrotechnics then officially kick off the second hour.

Eric Bischoff, "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan and "Macho Man" Randy Savage show up again, angry as ever with Savage still carrying a black baseball hat. Bischoff says nobody leaves the buliding until Hogan and Savage get their hands on Sting, and Hogan threatens to fight everyone in the building until he finds who is responsible for the attack on the nWo. Savage says there will be no Diamond Cutters, sleepers or bats. Bischoff says only one organization will control the industry, and it is them. He says nobody leaves the building until they get "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, Sting and Diamond Dallas Page. After nobody shows up, Bischoff says Vince McMahon is afraid of Hogan's new movie Assault On Devil's Island, and that DDP and Piper are afraid of Hogan as he dares someone to step up.

Curt Hennig retains the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship against Dean Malenko. Hennig's Fisherman Suplex, originally known as the Perfectplex, is now known as the Hennig-plex.

We see another performance by The Nitro Girls.

Raven, Stevie Richards, Perry Saturn, Billy Kidman and the unknown flunky are seen in the front row again before the next match.

Scott Norton beats Ray Traylor after Vincent gets on the apron and spray paints Traylor in the eyes with black spray paint. Traylor goes after both Vincent nd Norton after the match, but the rest of the nWo gets into the ring and gangs up on him as he is still blinded.

We see a video package for the Sudden Death match between Diamond Dallas Page and "Macho Man" Randy Savage at Halloween Havoc.

Lex Luger beats Booker T with the Torture Rack. "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Luger after the match. Luger admits that Booker T has gotten really good, and finds it "very sweet" that five or six men in the nWo have been laid out instead of doing the laying out. He says the tide has turned against Scott Hall, as he won't able to bully "The Living Larry" Larry Zbyszko, who will call the match down the middle and won't be intimidated. Zbyszko heads to the ring, and makes it clear that he will call the match between Luger and Hall right down the middle as promised, as it has taken him 20 years to earn the respect of everyone around the world and he won't lose it for anything. He tells Luger that Hall is not an easy man to beat, and tells him to do his best. Even though he doesn't like Scott Hall and he likes Lex Luger, he is still calling the match down the middle, which Luger finds no problem with.

We see another performance by The Nitro Girls.

Before the next match, Scott Hall takes a survey of who in the crowd is here to see the nWo. and calls WCW "a bunch of cowards" before telling The Giant that Kevin Nash is at home getting ready for him. He also tells "The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko that he will answer to him if he does anything other than call his match with Lex Luger at Halloween Havoc right down the middle.

Scott Hall beats Scott Steiner after Scott Hall lays out the referee and a masked referee (who is obviously Vincent) shows up to make the three count after Hall hits The Outsider's Edge on Steiner.

Eric Bischoff, "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan and "Macho Man" Randy Savage show up yet again, this time in a better mood. Bischoff says "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, Sting and Diamond Dallas Page have no heart, soul or will to win. Hogan apologizes for "overreacting," saying he forgets how much of a god he is and says that good things come to those who wait. After plugging Assault On Devil's Island, he says the nWo will wait until Halloween Havoc to get Sting, DDP and Piper, saying that all the beatdown on the nWo did was put more gas on the fire. Suddenly, a man in a Sting mask shows up and heads his way to the ring....and another one pops out of the crowd with him. Both men wear Sting masks and beat up Hogan and Bischoff as a third man in a Sting mask shows up. The first two "Stings" are DDP and Piper, and the nWo knocks down the third one on the way to the ring. Suddenly, the cage that was high above the ring all night comes all the way down, and the real Sting rappels down from the rafters to get his hands on Bischoff and anyone else who tangles with him. The nWo bails out through the cage door, but Page and Piper climb up the cage to get a piece of the nWo to end the show.

Raw Deal - Raw recap for October 20, 1997

The Legion of Doom (Road Warrior Animal and Road Warrior Hawk) show up to stand at "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock and Ahmed Johnson's corner before the next match.

The Nation of Domination (Rocky Maivia and Kama Mustafa) beat Ahmed Johnson and "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock after Faarooq hits Shamrock with "Ravishing" Rick Rude's steel Halliburton briefcase. During the match, D-Generation X ("The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels, "Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley, Chyna, "Ravishing" Rick Rude) are seen on the stage, with Triple H and Shawn sitting on lawn chairs while holding up signs with phrases such as "I'd rather be in Chyna?," "Who booked this crap?," "Uncle Tom 3:16," "Spank Me Vince," "Black is Beautiful," "Hey Vince Nice Shoulder Pads!," and "Buckwheat Rules." Rick Rude walks down the ramp and is seen talking to Faarooq. After the match, Ahmed goes after The Nation of Domination, and when The Legion of Doom (Road Warrior Animal and Road Warrior Hawk) head back to the back, they are attacked with trash cans from behind by The Godwinns (Henry O. and Phineas I. Godwinn). (It should be noted that as if in response to what Eric Bischoff said about not bringing the Assault On Devil's Island signs to WWF events at last week's Nitro, two official Assault On Devil's Island movie premiere signs are seen in the audience during this match.)

Michael Cole says The Nation of Domination (Faarooq, D'Lo Brown, Kama Mustafa, Rocky Maivia) isn't talking to anybody, and their locker room has been vandalized with graffiti by The Hart Foundation (Bret "The Hit Man" Hart, Owen Hart, The British Bulldog, Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart). The Nation shows up, and Faarooq immediately questions Vince McMahon's character, then Faarooq gets in the ring and says there is nothing but racism in the WWF thanks to the Foundation telling them and that "black people are the original natives of this country" before calling Bret Hart out. When Faarooq is left waiting for several seconds, it just makes his angrier. Bret's music finally hits, and the members of the Foundation show up one by one, and Faarooq and Bret have a match, which was scheduled for later tonight. D-Generation X ("The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels, "Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley, Chyna, "Ravishing" Rick Rude) shows up again, and Shawn tries to stir the pot by calling Bret a racist and saying that the WWF needs a champion sees no color, creed or religion. When Bret sees Shawn, Bret leaves the ring, and this starts a ringside brawl between The Foundation and The Nation.

The WWF Tag Team Series 1 action figures from Jakks Pacific are now available.

Bret "The Hit Man" Hart beats Faarooq after "Stone Cold" Steve Austin pops out from the crowd during another ringside brawl between The Nation of Domination (Faarooq, D'Lo Brown, Kama Mustafa, Rocky Maivia) and The Hart Foundation (Bret "The Hit Man" Hart, Owen Hart, The British Bulldog, Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart) and hits Faarooq with a Stone Cold Stunner behind the referee's back before fleeing through the crowd. The Nation yells at Vince McMahon again on their way out.

Jeff Jarrett, fresh out of World Championship Wrestling, shows up out of nowhere. Last week, on Monday Nitro, he was declared everything but dead. Since he refused to accept Eric Bischoff's offer and re-sign with WCW, he did everything in his power to bury him and hid behind his computer and announced to the world that he pulled the offer off the table. He tells Eric that the only thing he pulled from him was opportunity, and since he wasn't one of "his boys," he put a lid on his potential and would only go as far as he wanted to, as there was no ladder of success for him to climb. Jarrett says he was one of the youngest, most talented wrestlers Bischoff had, but Bischoff let him drown in mediocrity because his stroke wasn't strong enough, as he was stuck with Steve "Mongo" McMichael and his now ex-wife Debra McMichael. He tells Vince McMahon not to snicker and smile and cherish this momment, because he left WWF two years ago for the same reason. He says Bischoff did this out of ignorance and inexperience, and asks what Vince's excuse was. As somebody throws a Scream mask at the commentary table (which Vince plays around with for a few seconds), he brings up the gold tooth, the country music star, and the vision of what Vince wanted "Double J" Jeff Jarrett to be. He tells Vince that his vision sucked, and Vince is like "Yeah, it may have," as he was booked with a clown, a drug addict and a black man who can't even speak English (references to Doink, Razor Ramon/Scott Hall and Ahmed Johnson, respectively). He says Vince tried to bury him and kill him off, but didn't get the job done, and since he didn't put his dad Jerry Jarrett out of business, he figured he would kill him off. Not only did he survive, but he walked out on Vince, and he finds it ironic they got back together to make a deal in which he gets paid more the second time around, as he knows Vince needs him to put people in seats and ratings on the board. Vince says he told him to come out here to shoot, and that is what he is doing, and he tells Vince to take With My Baby Tonight and shove it up his butt. From here on out, it's going to be his way, and if Vince tries to stop him, he'll pack his bags and walk out the door again. He then asks Vince if he can afford it, and says he couldn't, or he wouldn't have paid him all that money five days ago. He then focuses on the state of affairs in WWF. He says Bret "The Hit Man" Hart is only the best there was and nothing else, as he lives off name recognition and past accomplishments and that it all comes to an end tonight. He says "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels can only wrestle once a week and is proud of that, and asks how often Shawn can go when he acts juvenile and "gives hand signals to [his] boys in Atlanta." He says Shawn was the WWF Champion and the main attraction, but is broken down and reduced to hiding behind an infantile attitude. He says "Stone Cold" Steve Austin has lowered himself to shaving his head and showing up ten to fifteen times a week and saying "ass" to get a reaction, and that Austin will always be "The Ringmaster," and that his blasphemous merchandise and "Austin 3:16" offends him as he is ripping off the Bible to put money in his pockets. When he hooks up with Austin, it will be Austin's judgement day. He tells Vince he wanted - and got - the real Jeff Jarrett, and hopes the investment will be worth all his headaches.

We see some news clippings concerning the WWF coming to town in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in The Daily Oklahoman.

Marc Mero beats "Too Sexy" Brian Christopher, the latter being accompanied by Jerry "The King" Lawler before the match. During the match, Jerry "The King" Lawler ties to get Sable to wear an Austin 3:16 baseball cap when giving Vince McMahon an idea on how to get the baseball cap to sell, while also saying that WWF should be selling crowns much like his. When Marc Mero sees the cap on her head, he gets out of the ring and rips it off, all the while having a very irritated look on his head. Jerry "The King" Lawler gets up on the apron later, distracting Mero and the referee, but Mero is able to hit Christopher with a low blow after being raked in the eyes before hitting Christopher with the TKO for the win. Mero is seen being impatient with Sable on their way out.

The intro to the show is replayed to signify the start of War Zone.

Before the next match, Owen Hart says he put "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels on a stretcher the last time they locked up, and with both the Intercontinental and European titles on the line, Owen proposes setting their guys aside, saying that Shawn would face him without anyone outside of the ring if he had any guts. "Ravishing" Rick Rude shows up with "Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley and Chyna, and Rude tells all the "sleazy, slimy, Oklahoma idiots" to button their lips, open their eyes and pay attention before introducing Shawn. Shawn shows up and asks the rest of D-Generation X (Triple H, Chyna, Rude) to stay back.

The Champion vs. Champion Match between Owen Hart and "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels ends in disaster when "Stone Cold" Steve Austin comes out of the crowd again and hits the referee with a Stunner. Bret "The Hit Man" Hart rushes in and goes after Shawn, who is promply saved by the rest of D-Generation X ("Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley, Chyna, "Ravishing" Rick Rude). The British Bulldog and Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart aren't too far behind, and neither are WWF officials.

Jim Cornette has a "too hot for TV" rebuttal for fans concerning things said about him on the Internet on Option 4 of the WWF Superstar Line.

The Undertaker says that for 20 years, he has walked the face of the earth under a dark cloud, carrying the grief of a family lost. In one moment's time, the brother he had lost forever, or so it seemed, is standing before him, and as he looked into his eyes, he didn't see the love of a long-lost brother; instead, he saw the hatred of a man whose man has been poisoned. He says Paul Bearer can rest assured he is living in Hell, for when he looked into his eyes, he saw the demon. However Paul has poisoned his mind and told Kane about him, it doesn't matter, as he will never fight his own flesh and blood. He will never fight Kane.

Kane shows up with Paul Bearer before Dude Love can face The British Bulldog. Dude Love fights Kane, and manages to send him over the ring only for Kane to send him out of the ring. Dude Love then looks for a weapon underneath the ring, and finds a steel chair. He hits Kane in the head with the steel chair, but it has no effect and Kane choke slams Dude Love onto the entrance ramp not once, but twice.

Before the next match, Jesse James and Rockabilly re-introduce themselves as the "Road Dog" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn respectively. They say their journey starts with The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh) and ends with the tag team titles.

Road Dog and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn beat The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh) after Billy Gunn busts Thrasher's head open with the stereo The Headbangers brought to the ring.

Last Thursday at Stamford, Connecticut, Taka Michinoku was seen with Vince McMahon and a signed long-term contract, revealing that Michinoku is officially signed to the WWF.

Sunny is guest ring announcer for the next match.

Taka Michinoku beats Yoshihiro Tajiri (misnamed "Tijari" on the broadcast) in a Light Heavyweight Division match. During the match, it is announced that the Light Heavyweight Tournament will start on November 3rd.

Jim Cornette says that Phil Mushnick's message board on TV Guide's website has been flooded with comments from outraged pro wrestling fans, and he reads excerpts from a few posts that criticize Mushnick's opinion on professional wrestling. It is announced Mushnick has written that he has "badly overrated the intellect and social graces of most pro wrestling fans as they believe what they want to believe, think what they want to think and have no regard for the truth. Not all but most pro wrestling fans provide what the pro wrestling industry covets: knuckleheads." Cornette finishes by saying that people with similar opinions not only founded the United States of America, but also put a man on the moon. He tells the pro wrestling fans that if they are tired of others giving them the sideways glance, looking down their nose at them, treating them like the guy who runs the Ferris wheel at the county fair just because you like wrestling or anything else, they should stand up and say they are mad as hell and that they won't take it anymore, and to voice their opinion as their opinion makes a difference. Cornette then goes on to say that Phil Mushnick isn't the only target, but he is a fine place to start.

To voice your opinion to Phil Mushnick, simply send your letter to: "Mad As Hell", c/o TV Guide, attn: Phil Mushnick, P.O. Box 500, Radnor, PA 19088.

The Godwinns (Henry O. and Phineas I. Godwinn) reveal that they were wearing black slacks and Oklahoma Sooners shirts with "Texas Longhorns" painted on them in orange earlier when they attacked The Legion of Doom (Road Warrior Animal and Road Warrior Hawk) earlier in the show. As expected, Uncle Cletus is also no longer with them. They corner and intimidate referee Mike Chioda before the next match, which never starts due to The Disciples of Apocalypse (Crush, Skull, 8-Ball, Chainz) beating up The Godwinns. The Truth Commission (The Jackyl, Recon, Sniper, The Interrogator) rush in and attack the D.O.A.. Referees, officials and WWF Commissioner Sgt. Slaugher all have to restore order.

Mankind, sitting in the boiler room, says if you think you've seen madness, you don't know the meaning of the word, as he is the master of madness, mayhem, malice and creulty. If The Undertaker has qualms about fighting Kane, then rest assured, Mankind has no such principles, as if it were even own his own grandma who dropped Dude Love on is head, the "old bag" would go down. He makes it clear to Kane that he'll fight him anywhere, anytime, anyhow, and Kane will be all his.
