Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for December 21, 1998

The show starts with a video overview of Eric Bischoff's time in WCW since joining the nWo.

We see a performance by The Nitro Girls.

Fit Finley beats Scott Putski.

Ernest "The Cat" Miller shows up. He says he is the baddest man in the world and brags about how he beats everyone he gets in the ring with. He says the people can boo him all they want, but he is the greatest, and nobody will get in the ring and beat him, and that he will whup somebody tonight. He says nobody can incite the crowd like he is doing now, because he is the greatest. All of a sudden, Santa Claus shows up and tosses candy into the crowd, and when The Cat asks him what he has for him, Santa Claus throws candy directly at his face. Santa Claus gets in the ring, and The Cat decides to fight Santa. Santa, unbeknownst to The Cat, knows how to wrestle, and it turns out to be Saturn in disguise.

Chavo Guerrero Jr. beats Kaz Hayashi. At the beginning of the match, Kaz Hayashi knocks Pepe off the ring post, causing Chavo to smack Hayashi around for disrespecting Pepe.

Kevin Nash shows up. He gives a shout-out to Goldberg, as six days from now, he will get the shot of a lifetime and become WCW World Heavyweight Champion. For the last year, everyone has seen Goldberg's meteoric rise to stardom in WCW, and he is now 173-0. What a lot of people don't know is that at one point of Nash's career, he was a world champion, and had 197 title defenses and never lost one of them. He says he has been where Goldberg is, and has been pushed and pulled in many different directions, and that as Goldberg has been doing this, that and the other, he has been preparing for Goldberg, and wants Goldberg to stay focused. Nash says he has been wrestling for nine years, and has done everything Goldberg has done except for beating Goldberg, and to be the man, you've got to beat the man. On Sunday night, he is going to kick Goldberg's ass.

We see another performance by The Nitro Girls. (This performance is the debut performance of the newest Nitro Girl Storm.)

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Raven, who shows up with Kanyon. Raven says that her mother does not care about him and that she wants to get on television after seeing Judy Bagwell on Nitro, and that she is a philanthropist just so she can get on TV for donating money. When Kanyon teases Raven by asking if his mother is going to drive him home, Raven punches Kanyon and proceeds to choke him out. Raven's mom shows up and tells him not to hit his friends, and asks Raven to come home with her so he can get help, but Raven is convinced that she is here to get on television. Raven then reluctantly agrees to go home.

Pyrotechnics signal the start of the second hour.

We see a video package of the recent events in the feud between Diamond Dallas Page and Bret "The Hit Man" Hart.

Wrath beats Lizmark Jr.

We see a special Christmas-themed performance by The Nitro Girls.

Joe Endery from the Hightower Bowling Lane in West Haverstraw, New York is this week's Nitro Party Pack winner. We see footage of his Nitro Party.

Before the next match, Eddie Guerrero tells Rey Mysterio Jr. he is losing his patience with him, and says LWO is "about all of us, not one of us." He plans to teach Rey a lesson much like he did Kidman, and Rey will not be 100% when he is done with him.

Rey Mysterio Jr. beats Eddie Guerrero. During the match, Eddie Guerrero whips Rey Mysterio Jr. into referee Charles Robinson, allowing Eddie and his bodyguard to double-team on Rey only for Rey to duck and Eddie to accidentally drop kick the bodyguard off the apron instead. Kidman gets on the apron for an impromptu double-team on Eddie, but Kidman accidentally knocks Rey down with the forearm, giving Eddie the win as Robinson comes to.

We see a video package of Goldberg.

Scott Steiner shows up. He wants all the woman to know that his body is not just for show and that it can go, and when he gets them under the cover, he will be his righteous lover. He then says he is their hook-up, and to "holla if you hear me." Last week, he said he was going to recruit the top elites and bring nWo Hollywood into the next millennium, and tonight, he has a very special guest who set the baseball world on fire: the St. Louis Cardinals' own Mark McGuire. Instead of the real Mark McGuire, however, it is the nWo referee on an adult tricyle with Buff Bagwell disguised as McGuire standing on the basket in the rear. Steiner lets "McGuire" know he is one of his biggest fans, and "McGuire" says he is a wrestling fan himself and loves the nWo, and loves Scott Steiner the most out of them all. Steiner then says that "McGuire" is more of a redneck than he thought he was, to which "McGuire" replies "Hell yeah, I'm a redneck! I live in St. Louis, don't I?" Steiner then asks what it felt like when he finally broke Roger Maris' records, but Steiner catches him drinking out of a small bottle of androstenedione, and asks him if he can make it through the interview without taking it. "McGuire" says he doesn't know about his interview, but says there's no way he could have hit 70 home runs without it and says that he could probably hit only five without it. Steiner then asks "McGuire" to donate the St. Louis Cardinals jersey he is wearing to the "nWo Hall of Fame." "McGuire" says he has a tear in his eye, and says this was the actual jersey he was wearing when he hit all the home runs. Steiner says "McGuire" is dumber that he thought he was, and The "Hall of Fame" proves to be a trash can. He and "McGuire" then show what they really think of the St. Louis Cardinals. Steiner and Bagwell tear up the jersey, then take "McGuire's" St. Louis Cardinals baseball cap and set it on fire, then Bagwell says says that St. Louis, Missouri straight up sucks.

Norman Smiley beats Prince Iaukea by submission.

Pyrotechnics signal the start of the third hour.

Van Hammer vs. Barry Windham ends when "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair rushes into the ring and attacks Windham, chopping him in the corner several times and hitting him with a low blow before both men start exchanging blows. Flair then puts his thumbs in Windham, then attacks the referee before cornering Windham back in the ring and chopping him a few times before hitting him with two more low blows and punching him in the face. Vincent gets involved, but Flair takes him down and "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson gets in the ring to take care of Vincent. Brian Adams and Horace Hogan try to get in the ring, but "The Crippler" Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko stop team before they can get in and fight them in the aisle. The brawling then goes to the back, and arena security and local law enforcement have to hold Benoit and Brian Adams back, and Benoit and Malenko are both maced and handcuffed. Flair and Anderson are still in the ring, and Flair tells Eric Bischoff that for 25 years, he has been a man, and he could walk into the door of his house and know that his wife and kids forgave him for everything he ever did wrong because they depended on him to live day in and day out. Meanwhile, Bischoff promises the world and then tries to take his career, but it did not work as the fans would not let him do it. He admits Bischoff nearly broke him with his lawyers, but he came back after his 10-year-old son Reid asked him why he couldn't go back to WCW and beat up Eric Bischoff in the ring, and promised him he would never quit. He says he almost quit living because Eric Bischoff put his hands on his wife and kids, and says Bischoff stepped over the line. Bischoff shows up, and Flair goes after Bischoff, who sics security on Flair and has him arrested along with Anderson.

Booker T beats Jerry Flynn.

Lex Luger beats Kenny Kaos with the Torture Rack. During the match, Ronnie Rage shows up with a brace on his arm, and angrily confronts Kenny Kaos, giving Lex Luger the win. After the match, Rage confronts Kaos, asking him if he wants to ride on someone's else coattails or if they will pay their dues together.

We see another performance by The Nitro Girls.

Before the next match, Disco Inferno shows up and tells him that Alex Wright - Konnan's opponent for tonight - has gone crazy. Konnan tells Disco they are not friends and to take the Wolfpac shirt off, as he is not a member of nWo Wolfpac and that he can't just put a shirt on and says he is a member. Disco says he got the shirt from Kevin Nash, who made him a member of the Wolfpac. He says that after the match, they will talk to Nash.

Konnan retains the WCW World Television Championship against Alex Wright. After the match, Alex Wright loses his cool before leaving the ring and smacking a steel chair on the floor and the ring apron, and almost hits the referee in the process. Suddenly, Chris Jericho shows up and attacks Konnan from behind with the Television title before taking it with him.

Before the next match, Disco Inferno issues an open challenge to anyone from nWo Hollywood to face him in the ring so he can prove he is nWo Wolfpac material. The challenge is answered by The Giant.

The Giant beats Disco Inferno. After the match, The Giant says that Diamond Dallas Page is probably laying somewhere dead after what he did to him last week. He admits that DDP is a hard working man, and says that he is dead when he shows up at Starrcade when he pulls him limbs off and gives him more pain than he could ever imagine, and when all is said and done, he will mash him under his thumb. All of a sudden, DDP shows up out of the crowd, and tells The Giant that he won't be hard to find come Starrcade. He may have taken him down last week, but it's all about how many time he gets back up. He says The Giant is the biggest, but not the smartest, and he will get the Diamond Cutter around him and make him feel the bang.

Goldberg beats Scott Hall by disqualification. Kevin Nash shows up during the match, and after Goldberg hits Hall with the Spear, Bam Bam Bigelow attacks Goldberg from behind while Nash gets Hall out of the ring.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for December 14, 1998

We see a performance by The Nitro Girls.

Before the next match, Raven says he has arrived to Hell in a handbasket just like everyone else, met by the welcoming committee of fear, violence and indifference. He is thrust into the light and met by the cold, hard feel of latex, his source of pain is satisfaction for his attacker. He soon found that whatever moron had packed me had left out the instruction manual, and he was forced to rely on the charity that his mother taught him, but he did not realize that his mother's reality checks were all bouncing, and says his mother was never there for him. As Raven continues to talk about the pain he has to suffer and how everyone else has an easy life, Kanyon shows up, asks Scott Putski to leave, and tells him he and everyone else is sick of Raven complaining about his mother. Raven says he had a rough, miserable childhood, but Kanyon says that what nobody else knows is that Raven went to an Ivy League school and has a degree in pre-med, and had a $3.2 million trust fund. He also says that Raven lived in Palm Beach, Florida, had the pick of all the rich, young debutantes in the area and had a Mercedes at age 16. Raven says his mother never loved him, but Kanyon tells Raven his real problem is that he had it too easy. Raven leaves, and Kanyon tries to stop him on the way to the back, but Raven tells Kanyon to leave him alone. The match between Raven and Scott Putski never takes place.

Villano V beats Eddie Guerrero by disqualification when The Latino World Order shows up. Guerrero then tries to recruit Villano V into the LWO, and Villano V joins. Eddie tells Eric Bischoff the LWO is "one more stronger." Rey Mysterio Jr. is on the apron, but he steps off and walks away.

We see another performance by The Nitro Girls at the commentary table.

We see a video package of The Four Horsemen ("The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson, "The Crippler" Chris Benoit, Steve "Mongo" McMichael, Dean Malenko) and their feud with Eric Bischoff.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Eric Bischoff. Bischoff says he has not bitten off more than he can chew, and even though there are those who think so, there is a difference between him and "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, and that he is deeply rooted into the new millennium coming up and looking towards the future while Ric Flair is rooted in the past and should have been put to pasture a long time ago. He tells Flair that he is a trained killer and a dangerous man, and spent seven years perfecting his craft of knocking people out, breaking their legs and ruining their careers by punching and kicking them in the head at will. He says Flair is a very tired old man, and tells Flair that his right hand hits really hard while his left scares even himself. Suddenly, Flair runs into the ring, and runs Bischoff out of it immediately before chasing him around ringside and to the back, until Bischoff hides around the commentary table while Ric Flair makes his way to the ring. Okerlund then interviews Flair, who does knee drops on the ring and says this is what the audience wants to see. He says Bischoff that they are in Tampa, Florida, where they like wrestling more and where everyone grew up on blood, sweat and Eddie Graham until "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes showed up and blew both for and against him as everyone who was somebody went through the stage. Flair calls Bischoff "an aristocrat," and when he gets him in Washington, DC, he will strangle him half to death, and he will reach down his neck, grab his heart and pull it out to show the world he does not have one. Ric Flair then lays down in the corner, holding his left arm at the shoulder, and "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson runs out to check on Flair. Trainer Danny Young shows up to check on Flair, as does "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes (even though Dusty Rhodes has been fired), referees and medical staff. A stretcher is brought out, and Flair is placed on it before it is wheeled to the back, where Flair is placed in an ambulance. Bam Bam Bigelow is seen heading into the arena, and he beats up Scott Hall for giving him the crotch chop until arena security get a hold of Bigelow. Arena security also have to hold back Kevin Nash, who immediately confronts Bam Bam Bigelow and wants a piece of him. WCW officials, WCW security and even Goldberg - who is also held back - show up, and security is spread thin at this point as Nash, Goldberg and Bigelow want a piece of each other. Terry Taylor of the WCW Executive Committee - who is in the fracas - immediately makes a Triangle Match between all three men tonight where nobody runs in and nobody interferes.

Pyrotechnics signal the start of the second hour.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Kidman, who says that there are a lot of problems between himself, Rey Mysterio Jr. and the Latino World Order, and asks that Rey comes out here as whenever the Latino World Order is around, there has been no new #1 contender for the Cruiserweight Championship. Rey shows up, tosses the 6XL-sized LWO shirt on the ground, and enters the ring. Kidman tells Rey he has respect for everything he has done for the sport, but every time they have a match, the Latino World Order gets involved. Kidman offers him another fair match, and Rey says he's got it. He also guarantees no interference from the LWO. The match then starts immediately. It is then announced that "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair has been taken to a hospital, and that another update will be available later.

Rey Mysterio Jr. vs. Kidman for the WCW Cruiserweight Championship ends in a no-contest after the Latino World Order get involved in the match. Kidman retans the WCW Cruiserweight Championship. During the match, it is announced that as per trainer Danny Young, "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair was suffering shortness of breath and mild chest pains after hurting himself during his interview. Also, baseball player Wade Boggs is seen in the front row during the match. After Kidman and Rey work together against the LWO, Kidman leaves only for Rey to be ganged up on. Kidman returns back to the ring, but he does not fare much better.

Chris Jericho shows up with Ralphus and a dry erase board. Jericho says that "that Baby Huey look-alike" Konnan robbed him of the WCW World Television Championship, and calls him "the best Latino rapper since Gerardo and Rico Suave." Jericho says he is not exactly "rowdy rowdy and bowdy bowdy," but he is 235 lbs. of twisted steel and sex appeal. He then re-enacts how he lost the Television title, saying that Konnan used a foreign object to steal the title, assassinated his title reign, and might as well have been standing on a grassy knoll. Jericho then brings out "Exhibit A," a man who makes fun of Konnan and carries a shovel in his hand. Jericho then crudely draws what happened, saying he had Konnan in the Lion Tamer when Konnan pulled out a pair of brass knuckles and punched him in the side of the face. He also says that Konnan pulled out a steel chain, wrapped it around his fist and hit him in the side of the head, but Jericho says he still keep fighting until Konnan hit him in the head with a shovel and slammed him face-first into the Television title. Jericho says he grabbed the bottom rope, but the three-count still took place and he was robbed of the championship. Jericho then says you can't stop rock 'n roll or Chris Jericho, and that he is too legit to quit. He challenges Konnan for the Television title at Starrcade, then beats up the guy parodying Konnan before putting him in the Lion Tamer as he says he will prove he is the greatest showman in WCW history.

Barry Windham beats Emery Hale.

Norman Smiley beats Saturn. During the match, Saturn warns referee Charles Robinson not to put his hands on him, and Robinson slightly backs away. Also during the match, Sonny Onoo and Ernest "The Cat" Miller show up, and Miller makes fun of Norman Smiley's dancing. Saturn forearms both Onoo and Miller off the apron, then hits Norman Smiley so hard with a back elbow that Smiley runs backwards into Robinson, knocking Robinson out. Saturn is about to put Smiley in the Death Valley Driver, but Miller gets in the ring and kicks Saturn in the face before making fun of Smiley's dancing again. Referee Scott Dickinson runs in, makes the fast count, and gives Smiley the win when he goes for the pinfall before running to the back so fast that Robinson has no idea what is going on he is back up.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund Bret "The Hit Man" Hart. Before the interview, it is revealed that WCW officials are on the phone with the local hospital and that more information on "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair is forthcoming. Hart says men are dropping like flies, and that what is going on with Flair reminds him of himself and all the men that he has put on the shelf as of late. He says he is hurt too, but nobody sees him hiding because he is a three-time United States Heavyweight Champion and the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be. Bret says he is fair and a true champion, and as much as it takes to suck up a lot of courage and come back into the ring one more time, he will defend the United States Heavyweight Championship. He calls out Diamond Dallas Page, telling him he can have a shot at the United States title. DDP shows up, but he is hit from behind with a steel chair by The Giant almost immediately before dismantling part of the stage set and choke slamming DDP from a steel platform holding the letters "WCW" on it (of which the "C" and one of the "W's" is dismantled) into a nearby wooden landing.

Wade Boggs of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays is seen in the front row again, and Mike Alstott of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is seen in the crowd.

Pyrotechnics signal the start of the third hour.

Konnan confronts Disco Inferno on the way to the ring, and tells him he is not Wolfpac material. He then brings out Roberto Duran and Chidi Ahonatu.

Konnan retains the WCW World Television Championship against Stevie Ray. During the match, Stevie Ray and Wade Boggs of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays have a brief staredown. Also during the match, Booker T confronts Stevie Ray, and dares him not to finish the match with the slapjack. Konnan ends up retaining the title after that with a facebuster.

New York Yankees owner George Steinbrenner and Warren Sapp of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are seen in the luxury box.

Eric Bischoff shows up. In a break of character, Bischoff says that WCW does what they do to entertain fans around the world, and different people that he talks to in the course of his business ask him how real what they do and what is seen is, and injuries are talked about often and a little difficult to explain, but he says they are real and they are serious. He says "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, who has been in the business for a long time and has done more for pro wrestling than even he has given him credit for, has suffered a mild heart attack. He tells Flair's family and friends that he is sorry, and asks them and Flair's fans for their forgiveness, as Flair deserves a tremendous amount of credit and respect. Bischoff says he is profoundly sorry for any pain that he has caused to Flair's family and hopes that he will get a chance to look Flair's wife and children in the eye and apologize, and hopes that Flair will be back in action soon, doing what he does so well.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Booker T. Booker gives "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair his best wishes and hopes he gets well soon. As for Stevie Ray, he has no problems with Stevie Ray joining nWo Hollywood. Stevie Ray shows up and tells Booker that if he wants to talk about prayer, he should start praying for himself. He tells Booker that the crowd does not care about him, and says he joined the nWo because Booker made him. Stevie says if it wasn't for Booker T, they would still be the best tag team today despite what commentary says about them. He then reminds Booker T that he made him, and chews him out for wearing dress clothes and ties and "working for people like [Okerlund]."

A woman is seen trying to enter the arena, looking for Raven. This woman is Raven's mom. Kanyon shows up and tells her he is no longer at the arena, and offers to take her to see Raven. The $50 ride - which is $50 because Kanyon needs the money - ends up being free.

Scott Hall beats Horace Hogan by disqualification after nWo Hollywood attacks Hall. Disco Inferno rushes in with an nWo Wolfpac tanktop on, but he gets torn apart by the black-and-white nWo.

We see another performance by The Nitro Girls.

Scott Steiner beats Van Hammer with the Steiner Recliner. After the match, Scott Steiner tells the crowd that as they look at the greatest body in professional sports to pay homage to the new leader of nWo Hollywood, and says that WCW realizes that he was not talking trash when nWo would take on more of his personality and attitude. He says every attack on WCW has been calculated and done for a reason. After announcing that he knows nWo Wolfpac is in the building, and says that as large as nWo is, he is looking for an elite athlete who can take the nWo to the new millennium and make it greater than it already is. He then calls out Lex Luger, saying he is the man that should have won the World War 3 match. Luger shows up and gets in the ring, and Buff says that when he had his neck injury, Luger was one of the first to see him, and credits him as a big help in his recovery. He says that Luger is always giving, but never receiving, and says he has not even seen Lex Luger in Konnan's music video even once. He asks if Konnan asked him to be in the video, if Kevin Nash asked him to be in the commercials for the new Wolfpac shirt, and says that Sting left him hanging when he went to do movies. He reminds Luger that Kevin Nash sent him over the top rope in the World War 3 match, and that he should have a World title shot but does not. Scott Steiner says he is the new king of the world and knows where Luger's career should be at, and asks if Luger knows, too, as he says that Luger should be getting title shots as he knows what a great athlete he is. He then asks Luger to consider dropping the Wolfpac for nWo Hollywood, and Buff shows him a black-and-white nWo Hollywood shirt. Steiner asks him to think about it, and Luger leaves the ring. Scott tells Luger he can make him famous, but Luger continues to head to the back.

Goldberg vs. Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Kevin Nash in a Triangle Match ends after Scott Hall shows up and attacks Goldberg before going at it with Bigelow. Golberg and Nash then go at it in the ring as the show ends.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for December 7, 1998

It is announced that Goldberg and Bam Bam Bigelow will be wrestling tonight.

We see footage from moments ago where Scott Steiner attacks WCW's mascot, Wildcat Willy.

We see a performance by The Nitro Girls.

Scott Steiner shows up. He says that he's heard steers and queers come from Texas, and he doesn't see anyone "wearing dresses like "Rowdy" Roddy Piper," and says he's tired of women hanging out with all the rednecks. If they want to be hustled by some real muscle, they're ready to get put down by "Big Poppa Pump." He then says he is their hook-up, and to "holla if you hear me." He then tells the crowd to give a standing ovation for Hollywood Hogan, who has just retired, and then tells them to bow down to him, as Hogan retired with class and dignity as the greatest champion of all time. He says that he and Hogan are like brothers, and that Hogan is no fool, as he knew he was the only man who could fill his shoes and has the longest arms in the world and can get the job done. He then brags about laying out Scott Hall last week, and that tonight, he does what Hogan wants him to and break a leg, as it will be Hall's last night in professional wrestling.

We get a closer look at Tygress, one of The Nitro Girls.

Norman Smiley beats Prince Iaukea by submission.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Eddie Guerrero. He calls Rey Mysterio Jr. "a selfish little turd" for signing a contract to wrestle behind his back, and says Rey will learn that the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the self, and says Rey will be disciplined tonight much like how he disciplines his children at home. He calls out Silver King, whom he says will prove that he is worthy of wearing the Latino World Order by dealing with Rey tonight.

Rey Mysterio Jr. beats Silver King.

Goldberg shows up with members of the WCW Championship Committee when Kevin Nash shows up, saying Goldberg has a match with him and not Bam Bam Bigelow. After being told the match with Bam Bam Bigelow is official and one-night only, Kevin Nash says the match won't happen and tells Goldberg he had better focus on him and Starrcade. Goldberg tells Nash "there isn't a second where I don't dream of driving your ass right through that mat."

Pyrotechnics signal the start of the second hour.

Wrath beats The Renegade. (This ends up being The Renegade's final match in WCW, as he would be released soon after. Sadly, The Renegade, aka Rick Wilson, would commit suicide two months later at the age of 33.)

Baseball player Roger Clemens and his sons are in the crowd tonight.

Before the next match, Disco Inferno shows up and brings out Konnan, who has no idea what Disco Inferno's "blockbuster announcement" and threatens to drop him on his head on the stage. Disco then announces that Kevin Nash has allowed him into nWo Wolfpac. Konnan's facial expression immediately after hearing this news seems to debunk this.

Stevie Ray and Horace Hogan beat Chavo Guerrero Jr. and Disco Inferno by hitting Disco with a double-team spike piledriver as the ref is out of position dealing with Chavo.

Kevin Nash shows up, and says that if Goldberg thinks he is running the show, he is not. He does not care what Goldberg wants, as he signed for a match with him and that is the only match he is going to have. Nash then tells Bam Bam Bigelow and Goldberg that he is going to the back and putting his gear on, and if either of them think they are going to come into the ring without him in it, they are sadly mistaken, as he just made tonight a three-way dance.

Before the next match, Ernest "The Cat" Miller and Sonny Onoo show up, and Miller says he came here to beat the crap out of Saturn. Unfortunately, since he hurt his ankle getting out of his Cadillac, tonight is his lucky tonight. As Miller continues to talk, Glacier hits Saturn with a side kick from behind. Miller says that if Saturn wants some, to come get some, but the way it looks right now, he won't have to do anything and Glacier will do the work for him.

Glacier beats Saturn by disqualification when Ernest "The Cat" Miller interferes. Referee Scott Dickinson gets hit with a Death Valley Driver after Saturn hears this.

We see a promo video for Kevin Nash vs. Goldberg for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship at Starrcade.

Before the next match, Chris Jericho says that it wasn't too long ago since The Bad News Bears played in the Astrodome and not too long ago since that he destroyed "that Texas" Bobby Duncum Jr., because he and the Jerichoholics both hate cowboys. Even though Duncum is from Texas, he is the true hometown hero.

Chris Jericho beats Bobby Duncum Jr. after hooking his feet on the top rope for leverage during the pinfall.

Pyrotechnics signal the start of the third hour.

The Giant beats Scott Putski with a single choke slam. After the match, The Giant says that if Diamond Dallas Page wanted his attention, he's got it. He then tells the crowd that if they think DDP is the people's champion and is like Santa Clause, then he is like The Grinch. He challenges him to a match at Starrcade, saying it will be an easy payday for him and that he has a special present for him in the form of a choke slam.

Konnan is seen talking to the nWo Hollywood referee, threatening to "tape [him] up real good."

The Four Horsemen ("The Crippler" Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko) vs. Raven and Kanyon never takes place. Before the match, Raven refuses to take part in the next match, and leaves Kanyon high and dry once again even after he tells Raven he has been there for him and asks him to be there in return. Kanyon then announces that Raven is not teaming with him again, and he does not care because it is all Raven's fault that his name went down as the one to break the 20-year "Armstrong Curse," and that The Four Horsemen nearly beat him within an inch of his life. He refuses to wrestle tonight, as the odds against him are 2-on-1 - 2 1/2-on-1 if you count Anderson. He then says he will challenge either Benoit or Malenko on Thursday night, and tells them to be there. He runs into "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson, and when Kanyon tells him to get out of the way, Anderson pulls out a crowbar and scares him into the ring. Benoit and Malenko get a few shots in, then Anderson scares Kanyon back out of the ring with the crowbar.

We see a video package chronicling the recent events between "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair and Eric Bischoff.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews The Four Horsemen ("The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, "The Enforcer Arn Anderson, "The Crippler" Chris Benoit, Steve "Mongo" McMichael, Dean Malenko). Mongo shows up alongside Flair as he makes his way to the ring. Flair says they will be humbled in Houston, Texas tonight, and tells Eric Bischoff to get off his girlfriend, get off his treadmill and hear him tonight, as his dictatorship is about to come to an end. Flair namedrops local legends from Texas wrestling history, saying they bled one gallons and sweated five just so Bischoff could have a job. He says the Horsemen spent years two years trying to bottle it up, but at Starrcade, he will torture the respect out of Bischoff, and it will be like going to his funeral. In one night, the Horsemen will take his paycheck, his job, his life, his dignity and take back professional wrestling, as WCW is bigger than Bischoff will ever be.

Konnan retains the WCW World Television Championship against Booker T by disqualification. During the match, Stevie Ray shows up and hits Konnan in the back with a slapjack. Booker T is about to strike Stevie Ray, and dares him to go ahead and do it. He tells Booker T that hitting him with a slapjack is what he should have been doing, and to think about nWo Hollywood.

Before the next match, Scott Hall says he has heard what Scott Steiner has had to say about putting him out of wrestling, and says he is too stupid to quit. He calls Scott Steiner out, saying that if he wants him, don't bring it, sing it. Scott Steiner shows up, but his referee does not follow him to the ring. Scott Steiner wants to know where he is, thinking Scott Hall has something to do with this. The nWo referee shows up all wrapped up in tape, and referee Mickey Jay, who is right behind him, pushes him to the ground before entering the ring.

Scott Hall vs. Scott Steiner ends with nWo Hollywood attacking Scott Hall while Steiner chases referee Mickey Jay out of the ring. Lex Luger and Konnan show up and take on nWo Hollywood, but the numbers game proves too great as The Giant shows up before Scott Steiner puts Scott Hall in the Steiner Recliner. Suddenly, Diamond Dallas Page shows up with a steel chair, clearing the ring out as he smacks the steel chair into The Giant.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Bret "The Hit Man" Hart. Bret says he has a few problems now, and has to decide between fighting him and fighting The Giant. He then brags about being United States champ once again, saying him holding the belt is proof he is the greatest of all time. He knew this would a special week when his cat jumped into his arm now that the US title is around his waist again. He tells DDP to stay out of his way, and tells him to go ahead and fight the Giant, but if DDP gets in his way again, he will excellently execute him. Bret says everyone has written him off as a bag of bones heading for the glue factory, but the fact of the matter is that he's just getting started, and tells the locker room to take a good look at the United States title, because he has proved himself one more time.

Bam Bam Bigelow and Kevin Nash immediately go at it in the ring. Goldberg runs to the ring, giving Roger Clemens a high-five backstage on the way there, and all three men have a brawl. Referees, officials, local law enforcement and arena security all have to hold back all three men.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for November 30, 1998

The show starts with a performance by The Nitro Girls. It is announced that Hollywood Hogan has told the world on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno on Thursday that he is retiring from professional wrestling to run for President of the United States. It is also announced that Mike Tenay is out today due to being under the weather (revealed in the third hour to be a case of laryngitis) and will hopefully be back next week.

nWo Hollywood walk out of a pair of white limousines on their way to the arena. They eventually make their way to the ring. Eric Bischoff declares Scott Steiner to be "the heir apparent" to nWo Hollywood. Scott tells everyone in the building to put their heads down in a moment of silence for the greatest champion that ever lived: Hollywood Hogan. If the people do not think that Hogan is not watching the show right now, they are highly mistaken. Scott Steiner says he has flown in from Los Angeles, and that Hogan has made him the new leader of the black-and-white nWo. He says that Hogan was the originator of the "24-inch pythons" and the largest arms in the world, and both was and is the biggest name in professional wrestling today. He says it is no question why he is the new leader, as he now has the largest arms (and the biggest peak) in the world in addition to the greatest body in professional sports. Behind him is a band of thieves who do not care about anyone or anything, and they will all be rapid dogs who take care of business the same way that the nWo has always done it. After talking with Hogan this morning, nWo Hollywood's first order of business is take care of someone who left the nWo not too long ago: Scott Hall. Scott Steiner tells Scott Hall he is their first order of business, and tonight, they will make him pay and make him wish he was never in the nWo. He also tells Hall he has Horace Hogan as his partner, and tells Hall to find a partner, because tonight, the black-and-white is going to bury him.

Konnan beats Chris Jericho to become the WCW World Television Champion! During the match, Jericho swings the title belt at Konnan's head when he finds out he has not won the match, and Konnan ducks the swing before hitting Jericho with a facebuster into the front plate of the belt. Konnan's music video is replayed as Lex Luger and Kevin Nash celebrate with Konnan.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair. Flair says there is a time in his life that has come where he has to walk down the aisle and focus, because he wants Eric Bischoff to hear him. He knows he is old, but getting old is one thing and getting great is another. Wahoo McDaniel, Johnny Valentine, Ricky Steambot, Sting, and a host of wrestling superstars made Bischoff what he is, past, present and future. He says there are a lot of wrestlers, some dead, some alive. He is disappointed with Barry Windham, and says Bischoff is a gutless, classless asshole. If Bischoff wants to fire him, he can fire him, but he wants it to be known that he called him out tonight and that everyone will look at him and say "that old man of diminished skills called you out." He says they will have it out once and for all, and tells Bischoff to "come jump on this old man."

Scott Hall shows up in blue jeans and an Outsiders T-shirt. He has heard what Scott Steiner and nWo Hollywood had to say about beating him up tonight, and tells nWo Hollywood that in case they haven't noticed, getting beat up is what he does. The only problem is that he doesn't have any friends, and he might as well fight them off one-by-one as he is doing everything by himself these days. If Scott Steiner and Horace Hogan are excited about carrying on "that family name" and want to take him on, they've got it. Suddenly, Kevin Nash shows up. He admits he and Hall have not seen eye-to-eye as of late, but if Hall needs a tag team partner, he'll be his huckleberry. Nash is confirmed to be Hall's tag team partner for later tonight.

Before the next match, Raven speaks into a microphone and talks about his mother again, but Kanyon takes the mike and says it's been the same song and dance for two years. He says Raven is being a manchild and tells Raven to get over his lousy childhood. Scott Armstrong and Steve Armstrong then get the first shot on Kanyon before Kanyon can say anything else. Raven continues to sit in the corner, then gets up when Kanyon confronts him again, then walks off, leaving Kanyon to wrestle the match alone.

Scott Armstrong and Steve Armstrong beat Kanyon and Raven after Scott Armstrong gets a schoolboy pin on a distracted Kanyon, who looks to the back entrance for Raven after hitting Steve with the Flatliner.

Pyrotechnics signal the start of the second hour.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Bret "The Hit Man" Hart. Hart says he's been hurt really bad, and that Diamond Dallas Page stooped so low that he has enticed other men to injure him, as Dean Malenko injured his groin. He says he wants to go at it, but the doctors tell him he cannot fight DDP tonight. DDP shows up through the crowd, and accuses Bret of ducking him. Bret says the doctors are not allowing him to wrestle tonight, but DDP thinks he is lying and says he will feel the bang. Hart says he doesn't have his ring gear, but then tells DDP that if he wants to put the title up against him, he'll face him under the condition that it is a no-disqualification match, and he will feel the pain from him. DDP accepts the stipulation.

Kidman retains the WCW Cruiserweight Championship against Eddie Guerrero. During the match, Kidman accidentally knocks referee Charles Robinson out of the ring as he moves Eddie Guerrero to the top turnbuckle. Juventud Guerrera tries to interfere, but Kidman stops him, and Rey Mysterio Jr. hits Eddie Kidman with a springboard drop kick to the back, allowing Kidman to hit the Shooting Star Press. After the match, the Latino World Order shows up, and chase both Rey and Kidman to the back.

Bam Bam Bigelow is seen sitting in the crowd with two security guards standing right behind him.

Eric Bischoff shows up with Barry Windham. Bischoff talks about how he went to Cody, Wyoming to clear his head for the holidays, and how a good friend of his told him "Eric, what we need now is another hero." He says his friend is right, with crime rates escalating around the United States, taxes out of control and people not being able to put food on the table. Bischoff says he will give the people that hero tonight, and that it is time to bring him out right now: Dean Malenko. Malenko shows up with the rest of The Four Horsemen ("The Enforcer" Arn Anderson, "The Crippler" Chris Benoit, Steve "Mongo" McMichael). Anderson tells Malenko to smack Bischoff in the mouth when he gets the chance, then Malenko approaches and enters the ring. Bischoff says he is impressed and that Malenko has his respect, and that he will also have his opportunity for all the people who cheered for "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair tonight. He also plans to give Flair what he wants, and that Malenko will give Flair his opportunity. Bischoff puts Malenko in a match against Barry Windham, and if Malenko can beat him, he will give Flair the opportunity to wrestle Bischoff if Flair wants it. Malenko says a Horseman never backs down from a challenge, and tonight is no different. He then adds a clause to this agreement: a special guest referee in the form of "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes, who has not been seen in some time and is still a member of nWo Hollywood. Dusty says justice will be swift and the call right down the middle, as he has always stood for right and wrong and will not let any shenanigans get in the way.

Wrath beats Bobby Blaze in a matter of seconds.

Before the next match, Ernest "The Cat" Miller says he came out to beat somebody up and threatens to fight someone in the crowd. He says that if there is anyone who wants a piece of him to come to the ring. When nobody shows up and The Cat calls everyone a bunch of chumps, Saturn shows up. Ernest Miller makes fun of the fact that he was pinned by Sonny Onoo, and decides to leave the ring and not tear him apart because he is "weak." Saturn calls him out on that, and calls that an excuse, telling him to say he is scared if he is scared. Miller gets back in the ring, calls his bluff, and tells him that if he beats Sonny Onoo, he will give him a match. Onoo is reluctant, but The Cat talks him into it. It does not take long for Saturn to lay out Sonny Onoo, but Miller yanks the referee out of the ring. Suddenly, Glacier hits Saturn with a Cryonic Kick and leaves. Onoo goes for the pin, but Saturn kicks out. Miller tosses a chain to Onoo, but when Onoo tries to punch him, he falls victim to a Death Valley Driver. Saturn beats Sonny Onoo, but the referee sees the chain in Saturn's tights - placed there by Onoo during the Death Valley Driver - and reverses the decision. Onoo beats Saturn by disqualification, and Saturn chases the referee out of the ring.

Another white limousine is seen pulling up to the arena.

Goldberg is seen coming out of the white limousine after the commercial break. He then makes his way to the ring with a police escort. A table and a few chairs are in the ring, and "Mean" Gene Okerlund is in the ring alongside Terry Taylor, a representative of the WCW Executive Committee, for a contract signing for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship match between challenger Kevin Nash and champion Goldberg. Bam Bam Bigelow is seen in the crowd, saying that should be him signing the contract and not Kevin Nash, who shows up moments later with Konnan and Lex Luger. Kevin Nash and Goldberg sign the contract, which states that Goldberg will not defend the WCW World Heavyweight Championship between now and Starrcade to ensure that Goldberg is World champ at the time of the match and that the World Heavyweight title will be defended on that night. Bam Bam Bigelow jumps the guardrail and tries to get in the ring, but local law enforcement and security quickly get in place to stop him from getting in the ring. He is carried back to the backstage area and ejected from the arena yet again.

Pyrotechnics signal the start of the third hour.

Booker T beats Mike Enos.

Bam Bam Bigelow is still outside of the arena leading a "Goldberg" chant on the grassy knoll near the arena, wanting a piece of Goldberg outside of the building.

Lex Luger beats Brian Adams with the Torture Rack. Before the match, it is announced that Mike Tenay is down with a case of laryngitis, which explains why he is not at the commentary table this week. It is also announced that referee Mark Curtis is currently battling cancer, which explains why he has not been refereeing matches for some time, and that he will hopefully get well and come back to WCW soon. During the match, Luger knocks Brian Adams into referee Mickey Jay with a forearm shot. Vincent tries to get involved, but his attacks have no effect. Adams grabs a steel chair and smashes it into Luger's back before he and Vincent hit Luger with a double-team spike piledriver on the steel chair. Adams revives the ref, but Luger is able to kick out. Vincent tries to hit Lex Luger with a steel chair after an Irish Whip, but Luger reverses it and Vincent almost blasts Adams with a steel chair shot to the head. Luger then pushes Adams forward, knocking him into Vincent and the steel chair, before locking in the Torture Rack for the win.

Dean Malenko beats Barry Windham by disqualification. After being impartial to Barry Windham, special guest referee Dusty Rhodes disqualifies Windham when he refuses to take Malenko out of the corner, betraying Barry Windham and Eric Bischoff in the process. Bischoff rushes out and demands to know what Dusty Rhodes is doing, but Dusty turns his back on him when he tells him to get in the ring. Bischoff then fires Dusty Rhodes, and as Barry Windham goes after Dusty, he runs into the rest of The Four Horsemen ("The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson, "The Crippler" Chris Benoit, Steve "Mongo" McMichael), who give him quite a beating. Flair goes after Bischoff, but nWo Hollywood quickly get him to the back. Flair demands his match with Eric Bischoff - which he calls "the greatest Christmas present The Nature Boy or The Horsemen have ever had" - right now.

The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) beat Scott Steiner and Horace Hogan. During the match, it is announced via the WCW legal counsel that WCW is forcing Eric Bischoff to wrestle "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair at Starrcade. During the match, Scott Hall hits Horace Hogan with the Outsider's Edge, but Scott Steiner's personal referee refuses to make the three-count and Kevin Nash hits him with a Jackknife Power Bomb. Referee Billy Silverman rushes in to make the three-count afterwards. Scott Hall is the only one in the ring to have his hand raised, as Kevin Nash has already left and headed to the back at that point.

Bam Bam Bigelow is still on the grass near the arena, demanding a piece of Goldberg.

Goldberg is seen running out of the arena and brawling with Bam Bam Bigelow outside. The brawl goes into the parking lot, and security and local law enforcement have to pull both men apart. Bigelow is led away by security, but Goldberg manages to get his hands on him again.

Bret "The Hit Man" Hart beats Diamond Dallas Page to become the WCW United States Champion in a no-disqualification match. Not long into the match, The Giant rushes in, stomps DDP and tosses him into the ring to choke slam him. Bret stands over DDP, then instead of going for the Sharpshooter, he gets him up so that The Giant can choke slam him again. Bret then puts DDP in the Sharpshooter, and DDP is knocked out by the time the hold is applied.

The show starts with a performance by The Nitro Girls.

Lex Luger beats Mike Enos with the Torture Rack.

Goldberg is seen coming out of a white limousine outside of the arena. Beside that limo is a black limousine is Kevin Nash and Konnan. Nash and Konnan poke fun at the former being "next," but Goldberg tells him "The funny thing is, being next ain't a safe place to be; ask your girlfriend."

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Kidman. He brings out Rey Mysterio Jr., as he has a few things to say to him. He says that Rey smartened up last night and that there is no ill will between them, and respects him for leaving the Latino World Order. He promises him a shot at the Cruiserweight title tonight. Rey thanks him for the shot, then tells him he had a great match last night and may the best man win. Suddenly, Eddie Guerrero and his bodyguard shows up, and Eddie pulls out a contract stating that he is bound legally and by blood to him and the LWO. He then says he has much love and respect for him even though he "[acted] like a turd on national television," he will give him another opportunity, and pulls out a shirt that matches the expectations he has for him and wants him to wear it. It is a 6XL-sized Latino World Order. Rey puts it on, saying he will fix this later.

"The Crippler" Chris Benoit beats Norman Smiley with the Crippler Crossface.

Ed Begalla from Highland, Indiana is the winner of this week's Nitro Party Pack. We see some footage from his Nitro Party.

nWo Wolfpac (Kevin Nash, Konnan, Lex Luger) show up. The three of them celebrate Nash's win in the World War 3 Match. Lex Luger says he hates winning second place in anything, but last night was a Wolfpac victory, and that Nash will be the next World champ at Starrcade. Nash says that when they put the Wolfpac together, it seemed like everyone put the gun sights on them and that everybody tried to hold them back by taking out "Macho Man" Randy Savage and Sting along with the rest of them. He says that one great thing about pro wrestling is nights like last night, because when you win it, there's nothing you can do. Whether everyone likes it or not, he's next. He then says that when Goldberg has the number one in the loss column, "it's gonna be me!"

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Kevin Nash backstage, asking about him and Scott Hall from last night. Nash says the last time he put his hand out to Hall, he was put through a hall, and Hall will have to prove he wants to be friends again, as it is something he also wants. Suddenly, Goldberg shows up with two security guards, and Kevin Nash says to Lex Luger, who is next to him, "watch my back." Goldberg tells Nash not to worry about his back, as he wants him to "see that truck that runs him over."

Before the next match, Kanyon is seen arguing with Raven, telling him to grow up and that he wants him at ringside. Raven stays in the back and Kanyon heads out on his own. He almost does his "Who's better than Kanyon?" pre-match promo, but then he says "Forget it. You're not gonna get it right, anyway." Tokyo Magnum then almost wins the match on a schoolboy pin.

Kanyon beats Tokyo Magnum. During the match, it is announced that Hollywood Hogan will be on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno on Thursday night, and that he will explain why he was absent from last night's World War 3 Match.

Bobby Duncum Jr. beats Glacier.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews The Giant. He says Kevin Nash knew he was the man to beat in the World War 3 Match, and when it came down to the last few men, he had to get rid of him. He did, and now he has a shot at Goldberg. He then calls Nash a coward who hides in the back and does not want to face him one-on-one, and that the nWo Wolfpac has "a big case of chicken-itis." He wants to know if Nash has any guts, as he will beat Goldberg for the belt and Nash will not be able to run away from him then, as he will have to win the World title from him at Starrcade. If Goldberg has any balls, he will face him tonight.

Pyrotechnics signal the start of the second hour.

Before the next match, Saturn says that if he will allow Ernest "The Cat" Miller sneak attack him, he is out of his mind. If Miller is half the man he says he is, he will meet him face-to-face.

Saturn beats Silver King. During the match, Ernest "The Cat" Miller shows up with Sonny Onoo, and asks him what makes him think he can handle him when Sonny Onoo beat him last night. He tells Saturn and everyone in the crowd to kiss his ass concerning Saturn's challenge. Saturn chases after Onoo and Miller after the match.

It is announced that Goldberg has accepted The Giant's challenge, and it is announced that in their match, there must be a winner.

Kidman retains the WCW Cruiserweight Championship against Rey Mysterio Jr. During the match, Eddie Guerrero and Juventud Guerrera head towards the ring. As Kidman and the referee are distracted by Eddie Guerrero, Juvi hits Rey with the Juvi Driver. This allows Kidman to hit the Shooting Star Press to retain the title.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Eric Bischoff. Bischoff says it is time to accomplish a couple of things tonight, most notably settling issues with "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair. He also makes it very clear that he runs WCW, and for better or worse, he is the boss, and that Scott Hall found out the hard way last night. He then asks Flair to come to the ring. Flair shows up, and says he is overwhelmed with the fact that tonight, Bischoff not only has the guts, but has extended him the courtesy to stand eye-to-eye with him. Bischoff tells him he deserves it, as what is going on between them has affected their families and everyone in the crowd and the industry, and that it is time to put an end to it. Bischoff tells Flair that even he has to acknowledge that he runs this company. Flair says he will acknowledge that even a man like Ted Turner makes a few mistakes along the way, and that Bischoff is one of them. He tells Flair he cannot hire or fire anybody, and brings out Barry Windham, who shows up. Bischoff tells Flair he has a future in WCW, but Barry Windham is the same man that will look him in the eye and knock him flat on his ass. Flair says the one thing he wants to make clear to Bischoff is tradition, as Windham is talent and has paid the price, and that he was once a Horseman and can be again. He tells Bischoff that tradition is still alive in this sport. Bischoff tells Flair that the one thing he wants him to understand is that he has the power. Bischoff punches Flair, but Flair punches back, and Windham attacks Flair from behind before taking one of his knees out and punching him out. He then puts Flair in a reverse chinlock before Bischoff kicks at Flair. Steve "Mongo" McMichael, "The Crippler" Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko try to make the save, but nWo Hollywood cuts them off at the pass and beat on them. Bischoff and Windham then leave.

Konnan beats Booker T by disqualification. At the beginning of the match, it is announced that The Four Horsemen ("The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, "The Crippler" Chris Benoit, Steve "Mongo" McMichael) have left the arena to regroup after what happened earlier regarding Barry Windham, and that Dean Malenko has stayed behind as he is contractually bound to face Bret "The Hit Man" Hart in a wrestling match later tonight. During the match, Stevie Ray shows up and gets his hands on Konnan from the apron, causing the match to end by disqualification. Stevie Ray tells Booker T that he should have had Konnan beaten in minutes last night while Booker T could not, and wants to know where his head is at. Booker tells Stevie to handle his business and let him handle his with his nWo brothers. Stevie says his brothers stick with him, and he tells Booker T to look at what is going on and see what is happening.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Bret "The Hit Man" Hart. Bret says he should be the United States Heavyweight Champion right now, and says the fans are so happy that Diamond Dallas Page won, but he tells DDP last night was a cheap victory, and that DDP is "cheap" and "a punk." He also says the people are punks. He tells DDP he knows he is backstage and that it is not over between them, as he wants a rematch as last night was "the pits." He plans to set an example with every opponent he gets in the ring with, and mentions that Dean Malenko has a bad leg. He says it is a dirty job, but he will have to throw Malenko's leg into the crowd as he will beat the crap out of him and wants DDP to watch him do it, as he will do it to everybody until DDP gives him his rematch for the US title.

Kevin Nash beats Wrath, putting Wrath's undefeated streak to an end with a Jackknife Power Bomb.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Chris Jericho. Jericho says he feels let down and betrayed a little bit by the Jerichoholics, as he feels they have not given him the respect he deserves and have not been cheering him as loudly, and that they have forgotten they are cheering for him because he is better than all of you. He says Bobby Duncum Jr. was embarrassed and torn apart last night. He hates cowboys, especially after Stu Hart made him a cowboy in his very first match, but then realizes that being a cowboy is a little fun and says that he can "rope up a dogie" and "rustle up some vittles" just as good as anyone else can. Suddenly, Duncum shows up with Ralphus, who is tied up with Duncum's bullrope with his mouth duct taped. Duncum then hogties Ralphus and leaves him in the aisle before heading to the back.

Before the next match, Chris Jericho is untying Ralphus from Bobby Duncum Jr.'s rope while Scott Hall makes his way down the aisle. Scott Hall then kicks at Ralphus. As Hall makes his way to the ring, the nWo Hollywood theme plays until it immediately stops when Hall tells the production crew to stop it. Hall says that after two-and-a-half years of surveying, tonight is the final survey as everybody is here for one reason: to see the nWo. He says it is no secret that there are two factions in the nWo. The first is nWo Hollywood, who told him that he is out, even though he started the nWo all by himself. If he is all alone again, than that is the way he likes it. The second is nWo Wolfpac, and Kevin Nash says he has to prove some things to him, and Hall feels that the people think he may have some things to prove to them. However, he has things to prove to himself, and he plans to start tonight with Alex Wright. When Wright shows up, he tells the crowd - and Scott Hall - to show him some respect.

Dean Malenko beats Bret "The Hit Man" Hart by disqualification after Bret hits Malenko with a Diamond Cutter on a steel chair. During the match, it is announced that a special one-hour extra edition of Nitro will air on TNT tomorrow night at 8 PM Eastern, 7 PM Central. After the match, Diamond Dallas Page gets in the ring, and Bret "The Hit Man" Hart attacks DDP with the chair until DDP somehow gets back up and punches Bret off the apron as he tries to escape. DDP then helps Malenko to his feet, then grabs the microphone and says that next week, he will take Bret in a rematch for the United States Heavyweight Championship because he gets all jacked up when Bret feels the bang.

Goldberg retains the WCW World Heavyweight Championship against The Giant. After the match, Bam Bam Bigelow rushes into the ring to beat up Goldberg, and numerous security guards and police officers have to keep both men away from each other as Bigelow is ejected from the arena yet again. Kevin Nash then shows up and gets in the ring, and the show ends with security and law enforcement keeping both Goldberg and Nash separated in the ring.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for October 26, 1998

The show starts with a performance by The Nitro Girls.

It is announced by Tony Schiavone that some systems went down prematurely during Halloween Havoc last night, and that 10 to 20% of households watching Halloween Havoc were not able to see the end of Hollywood Hogan vs. The Warrior as well as the entirety of Diamond Dallas Page vs. Goldberg for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. Because of this, World Championship Wrestling has decided to air DDP vs. Goldberg for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship at Halloween Havoc in its entirety for free on the second hour of the show. Schiavone says that this was not a ploy by WCW to go off the air early.

Stevie Ray beats Kenny Kaos after Buff Bagwell shows up, distracts the referee and Kenny Kaos, and tosses Stevie Ray a slapjack, which he whacks Kenny Kaos with as soon as he turns around. Bagwell and Stevie Ray attack Kenny Kaos after the match, but Rick Steiner rushes in and makes the save. Rick then checks on Kenny Kaos, and asks him to be his partner to take on the nWo tonight, as nobody gave him a chance when he first started. Kaos says his tag team partner is on the shelf with a bad shoulder, but he has idolized Rick for a decade, and would be honored to defend the WCW World Tag Team Championships with him tonight.

Kanyon beats Prince Iaukea. Before the next match, it is announced that Hollywood Hogan vs. The Warrior will not be shown in its entirety tonight, as the end of the match is considered too graphic to show on cable TV on not suitable for the Turner networks, and because of that, that match can only be shown on pay-per-view. Also, when Kanyon asks who's better than him, the crowd still chants "Everybody!"

We see another performance by The Nitro Girls, this time at the commentary table.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews The Four Horsemen ("The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson, "The Crippler" Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko). Flair says Steve "Mongo" McMichael is missing in action, but he will be here before the night is over. Flair says that Eric Bischoff has come under some hard times while trying to keep Horsemen out of the building and off of television, and tells him the Horsemen are here and here to stay. Suddenly, Bischoff shows up, and says he has underestimated Flair and did not realize how much that he meant to the fans, and that there is no doubt in his mind that everyone wants to see him wrestle again. To show Flair the goodwill in his heart and bridge the gap between himself and Flair, he will give Flair the opportunity to wrestle tonight, as he wants to give the fans what they want. After Bischoff leaves, Flair admits he does not trust Bischoff, but he will be in the ring dressed to kill.

Diamond Dallas Page vs. Goldberg for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship at Halloween Havoc is replayed in its entirety. (Due to this replay, this would be the last episode where Nitro would beat Raw in the ratings; after this, Raw would continue to dominate for the rest of the Monday Night Wars.)

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Kevin Nash in his dressing room. All of a sudden, Scott Hall shows up. Nash tells him it was not about winning or losing, and it was about getting Hall back as a friend. Hall admits he hit a wall last night, and that it is time to change his life. Nash says his walking away from Hall during their match was not about proving a point, and that all he needed to do was to beat some sense into Hall. Hall says that if if maybe he can change his life, maybe he can help Nash out if he wants him. This proves to be a set-up as The Giant shows up and boots Nash in the face, and Hall joins in on the attack, which ends Nash is both figuratively and literally thrown through a wall.

nWo Hollywood shows up. Eric Bischoff introduces Horace Hogan as the newest member of nWo Hollywood, and Hollywood Hogan says it is quite obvious to everyone in the wrestling world that he is the god of wrestling and that the nWo is the sole residing power, and if you're blac-and-white, you would die for those colors. This is why Stevie Ray, Scott Hall, Vincent, Scott Steiner, Buff Bagwell and The Giant are watching his back, for anyone who messes with nWo Hollywood is digging their own grave. To join nWo Hollywood, one must spill their blood and stab themselves in the heart to prove their loyalty, and for that, he is proud to introduce Horace Hogan as the newest member of nWo Hollywood and bestows the colors of the black-and-white on him for life, and hopes that he will chop all obstacles with the edge of his hand and prove by the end of the night that he is true to the black-and-white.

Saturn beats Eddie Guerrero by disqualification after he is attacked by Damian and Hector Garza. Eddie tries to attack Saturn after the match, but Saturn ducks and sends Eddie over the top rope before more Latino World Members show up, including a man wearing a red bandanna and a black vest hits him with a brainbuster-like maneuver.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Judy Bagwell. She says that Buff Bagwell has let his family down big time after all that she did for him.She wants to protect him, but he let Scott Steiner talk to her like a dog, and says Buff has degraded the family name and that the family will not tolerate it any longer. Tonight, she is a mother on a mission and tired of being nice, and tells Buff Bagwell that she loves Marcus Bagwell with all her heart, but she has had enough of Buff.

Scott Steiner and Kenny Kaos retain the WCW World Tag Team Championships against Stevie Ray and The Giant.

Eric Bischoff replaces Mike Tenay on commentary for the next match, and says he will stay true to his word by letting the world see "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair wrestle...by showing footage of Flair taking on Hollywood (then Hulk) Hogan at Bash At The Beach 1994.

Kidman retains the WCW Cruiserweight Championship against Juventud Guerrera.

We see the first two videos in the WCW/nWo Superstar Series: Sting Unmasked! and "Macho Man" Randy Savage: Behind The Madness!", courtesy of Trident Entertainment. Bobby "The Brain" Heenan tries to steal one of the videos, but gets caught.

Scott Steiner and Buff Bagwell show up. He says the only reason why everyone is in the arena right now is to see nWo Hollywood, and where nWo Holywood goes, there is a party. For the last two weeks, he's been going strong and putting girls down, having them tell him who their daddy is. What he wants to know is if the ladies love him for his mind or his body, and says he is their hook-up and to "holla if you hear me." He then tells Buff Bagwell that he is the best set-up man in wrestling today, and not only are they nWo for life, they are friends for life. Buff then has a message for all the mothers in the crowd, and knows that his mother Judy Bagwell was here earlier saying he ruined the Bagwell family name, and tells all the mothers that their place is in the kitchen before telling his father to set Judy straight. Scott then says that he knows two people are in the building: Rick Steiner and WCW Executive Committee Chairman J.J. Dillon. He calls out Dillon, wanting a rematch against his brother Rick Steiner tonight. Dillon shows up, and Scott Steiner says he lied to Dillon, claiming that when he turned his back on WCW, he knew that Dillon liked his brother more than he liked him. Dillon admits he liked Rick, but has nothing against him. He also accuses Dillon of thinking his brother was better than him, but Dillon tells him his track record speaks for itself and both Steiners are pretty good athletes. Scott then accuses Dillon of wanting Rick to beat him last night at Halloween Havoc, and asks him two questions: Why did the referee at the start of the match not finish the match. Dillon tells him to watch the replay tomorrow night, but Scott demands an answer from him, saying Dillon had something to do with that. Dillon says he did not touch the initial referee, and Scott and Buff accuse him of lying. Dillon says that if he were at ringside during the match, he would have sent another referee because it is the right thing to do. Scott Steiner then kicks Dillon in the gut and tells him the right thing to do is to "kick his WCW butt." Security shows up and tries to stop Steiner as he puts Dillon in the Steiner Recliner.

The Warrior shows up. Last night, Hollywood Hogan had the opportunity to face him like a man, and he failed. Last night, he had the opportunity to set a fire with but one match that will now haunt him forever. He tells Hogan there is a difference between beating someone up and genuinely beating a man, and the Warriors know he beat the hell out of him last night, and Hogan's pinfall does not change it. The Warrior tells Hogan he has opened the door to The Warrior's hell, and he is its gatekeeper. He says the time is near, then Hollywood Hogan shows up, but Horace Hogan gets on the apron and gets in the ring for Hollywood's sake only for The Warrior to take him down and out of the ring. The Giant goes in, but he fares no better. Hollywood attacks The Warrior from behind, but The Warrior takes him down and knocks Eric Bischoff off the apron.

Scott Steiner and Scott Hall vs. Lex Luger and Konnan de-evolves into an all-out brawl.

Diamond Dallas Page beats Bret "The Hit Man" Part to win the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship. During the match, Bret kicks both DDP and referee Mickey Jay in the groin at the same time, then pulls out a foreign object and wraps it around his hand. He revives referee Mickey Jay, abut DDP ducks the punch and hits the Diamond Cutter to win the United States title for a second time. Bret attacks Page after the match and punches out referee Mickey Jay, then grabs a steel chair and rams it into DDP's kneecap before putting him in the Sharpshooter. He then lets go and continues to attack DDP with the steel chair, then Goldberg runs in as the show ends.

Saturn beats Kenny Kaos.

We see footage from outside the arena from earlier today where the fans voiced their opinions on Eric Bischoff being ejected from the building last week.

We see footage of a Nitro Party from R.J. Morgan and his friends from Pearl, Mississippi, the winners of this week's Nitro Party Pack.

We see another performance by The Nitro Girls.

The Latino World Order (Psychosis, Hector Garza, El Dandy, Damien) beat Chavo Guerrero, Jr., La Parka, Ciclope, and Lizmark Jr. after La Parka hits Ciclope and Lizmark Jr. with the steel chair. Eddie Guerrero shows up after the match, and tells Eric Bischoff that they are starting to get stronger, and that La Parka has showed what it takes to be LWO, and hands him an LWO shirt. Chavo Guerrero is still there, but he ends up being ignored by Eddie, and leaves. Eddie tells Bischoff that the LWO is his future whether he likes it or not, and that he will eventually have to pay attention to them. As far as the LWO is concerned, Eric Bischoff can kiss their asses.

Before the next match, Kanyon asks "Who's better than Kanyon?" to which everyone in the crowd responds "Everybody!," much to the chagrin of Kanyon.

Kanyon beats Scott Putski.

Pyrotechnics signal the start of the second hour.

Scott Steiner shows up. He says it is cold outside, but he can feel the heat from all the "freaks" staring him down right now. Last night, he got a phone call, so he made his way to Minneapolis with three women who left the next morning satisfied. He then tells the ladies he is their hook-up and to "holla if you were me." He then talks about last week, when Judy Bagwell got in the ring and he knocked Buff Bagwell down for standing up to him, and goes on to say he is the greatest athlete in professional sports today, and he does not care if any Minnesota Vikings are in the arena, as they can come to the ring so he can show them respect. Rick Steiner shows up, says the Minnesota Vikings are undefeated, and that Scott's doing nothing in Minnesota. Rick says he is tired of Scott talking about how good he is, and if they want to get it on, they can get it on right now. Scott leaves the ring and says the crowd doesn't care if he beats them one more time, and that it is not happening tonight. Rick insists on Scott taking him on, and Scott teases getting back into the ring. Scott then says Minnesota and Rick both suck, then asks if it will be a fair fight if he faces him right now. Rick says no, and immediately punches him in the face before immediately beating him up. The brawl ends with Scott getting two low blows on Rick before hitting Scott in the back of the knee with a steel chair. Buff Bagwell runs in and grtabs the chair. Scott commands him to hit Rick with the chair, but Buff swings it at Scott at the last minute. Scott Steiner high-tails it out of the ring.

Fit Finley beats The British Bulldog. During the match, Bulldog shoves referee Nick Patrick to the other side of the ring knocking him down. Alex Wright shows up, and revives the referee just in time for Finley to hit Bulldog with the Tombstone Piledriver. After the match, Fit Finley beats up Wright.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Chris Jericho, who shows up with a member of "Jericho Personal Security." Jericho says he is livid, as he has beaten Goldberg three times and has received absolutely no acknowledgement from the WCW Executive Committee. He knows that Goldberg is in the building, and calls him out one more time so he can give the Jerichoholics what they want and knock his head off. Okerlund tells Jericho that Goldberg is at a UNICEF function, not at the arena. Jericho says that Diamond Dallas Page should be challenging him for the "Unified World Television Championship," not Goldberg, at Halloween Havoc, and that DDP has not paid his dues and that nobody cares about him. DDP shows up, kicks Jericho's "personal security guard" out of the way, and says Jericho hasn't beaten him. If Jericho wants to run his mouth and wants a piece of him, then he might as well shut his mouth tonight like it should have been shut a long tie agao.

Scott Hall is seen drinking at the bar at the Target Center.

Wrath beats Tokyo Magnum.

We see another message for UNICEF.

We see some footage form earlier tonight where Buff Bagwell shakes hands with Rick Steiner before ripping off the black-and-white nWo shirt.

Before the next match, Super Calo and Silver King bring a surprise for The Dancin' Fools (Disco Inferno and Alex Wright): Dean Malenko and "The Crippler" Chris Benoit, who are led to the ring by "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson. Double-A shakes hands with Silver King and Super Calo, then Eric Bischoff shows up and kicks Mike Tenay off commentary to guest on it for the next match, saying that Malenko and Benoit are in breach of contract by making their own match and will therefore be working tonight for free.

"The Crippler" Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko beat The Dancin' Fools (Disco Inferno and Alex Wright) with a Crippler Crossface to Disco Inferno. After the match, Benoit, Malenko and "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson stare down Eric Bischoff from the ring and, Anderson tells Bischoff they are taking WCW back.

Scott Hall is seen at the bar at the Target Center again.

Chris Jericho vs. Diamond Dallas Page end when Goldberg shows up and hits Jericho with a Spear. Diamond Dallas Page stops Goldberg from hitting the Jackhammer, and hits Jericho with a Diamond Cutter before he and Goldberg brawl. Officials, referees and WCW Executive Committee Chairman J.J. Dillon have to hold both DDP and Goldberg back.

Scott Hall is seen at the Target Center bar once again.

Rey Mysterio Jr. and Kidman wrestle to a ten-minute time limit draw. Kidman retains the WCW Cruiserweight Championship.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Minneapolis, Minnesota Mayor Sharon Sayles Belton. She brings attention to two guests in the crowd tonight; Kirby Puckett and John Randall, who come out to the ring. She then introduces "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, who shows up. Belton then declares today to be "Ric Flair Day" in Minneapolis. Eric Bischoff shows up and says Flair should not be here and starts a shouting match with Sharon Sayles Belton, whom he calls "a mayor with three names who is mayor of the pig farming capital of the world." Kirby Puckett and John Randall confront Bischoff, and a nearby cop threatens Bischoff with jail if he lays one finger on anyone in the arena, reminds him that he is from around here and knows what Minneapolis jails are like, and tells him that he has some unpaid warrants to take care of. Bischoff says he's paid them off, but the cop gives him 20 minutes to leave the arena. Bischoff promises to be back before the show is over, says this is his arena, and that he has an attorney. Bischoff angrily leaves the arena only to find out his car is being towed, and chases after the tow truck.

We see another performance by The Nitro Girls.

Before the next match, Scott Norton and Stevie Ray show up wondering where Scott Hall is. Scott Hall shows up far behind them, drunk as ever. When Lex Luger and Konnan show up for the match, Kevin Nash is nowhere to be seen. Just before the match begins, however, Kevin Nash is seen backstage, stumbling around and drunk as Scott Hall while wearing an Outsiders shirt. He eventually makes it to the ring, and Konnan and Lex Luger cannot believe what they are seeing. Hall and Nash toast each other, and Nash is then seen stumbling around the apron and trying to correspond with Hall.

nWo Hollywood (Scott Norton, Scott Hall and Stevie Ray) vs. nWo Wolfpac (Kevin Nash, Lex Luger, Konnan) ends in a no-contest. During the match, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall are both tagged in, and Nash and Hall have a little bit of fun before Nash reveals that he is not even drunk. Nash beats up Hall, and after Hall hangs upside-down off the middle room for a few seconds, nWo Hollywood leaves.

Hollywood Hogan shows up and kicks ring announcer Michael Buffer out of the ring. Hogan brings out Horace, whom everyone has been saying he will turn on. Horace, formerly of Raven's Flock, shows up, and Hogan asks him to reveal his full name...which is Horace Hogan. Hollywood then says that his brother is Horace's father, and that the same blood that is in Horace runs through his veins. Hollywood then brings out nWo Hollywood, and Hollywood says he has let Horace fight his won battles and he is proud of him. Hollywood says he loves Horace, and every time he sees Horace, he is reminded of his late brother. Hollywood says he usually has people prove themselves to him, and when one is inducted into the nWo, that is as close to being the man as one can get. Since he loves Horace so much, he is willing to give him the shirt off his back. When it comes to blood, sacrifice, and the nWo, Hogan says The Warrior "doesn't get it," and that he will show The Warrior sacrifice. He then suddenly attacks Horace and whips him with his weight belt, and tells Warrior that if he wants sacrifice and that if he is that willing to sacrifice a family member, that there is no telling what he will do at Halloween Havoc. Hollywood then leaves the ring, grabs a steel chair, and dents it into his nephew's head. Hollywood then tells The Warrior that he will rule wrestling and make him beg at Halloween Havoc. Hollywood then topples the gurney that Horace is placed on, then tells The Warrior he will make him crawl and admit he is the man who ran him off and made wrestling. He says that this tie, it is no longer "Mr. Good Guy Hulkamania," and that he hasd better start training, saying his prayers, and eating his vitamins, as The Warrior is his at Halloween Havoc. Suddenly, The Warrior rushes to the ring with a baseball bat, and fights off nWo Hollywood one by one, save for Hogan, who is outside of the ring. Hogan tells The Warrior to put the bat down, and says he will take him down right now. This allows The Giant to attack The Warrior from behind and choke slam him. Hollywood then spray paints "NWO" on Warrior's chest, and says this will be how it ends for him at Halloween Havoc before hitting him with multiple leg drops.

Before the next match, Bret "The Hit Man" Hart says that what Hollywood Hogan just did earlier has inspired him, as he comes out week after week to prove that he is the greatest technical wrestler in the history of the world of wrestling, and week after week, he gets little to no respect from the fans. He also says hello to his cat Smokey, and says he dreams of ways to get even with the fans who do not respect him, and realizes that the best way to do that is to kick the crap out of Sting. He ponders why they should wait until Halloween Havoc when they could do it tonight, saying that Sting tries to kiss up to him in the dressing room and that he stole his Sharpshooter for the Scorpion Death Lock. He calls Sting "the stupidest there was, is and ever will be," and demands that Sting suck it up and finally get in the ring with him. Sting finally shows up and immediately starts fighting Bret, starting their match.

Bret "The Hit Man" Hart vs. Sting ends when Sting refuses to let go of the Scorpion Death Lock. Four other referees have to show up to get him to let it go, and Stevie Ray and Vincent show up to attack Sting, which eventually causes him to let go only to beat them up and Bret crawls out of the ring. Bret tries to limp away, but he falls to his knees and Stevie Ray and Vincent have to help him to the back. Sting chases Bret into the back, and the show ends.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for September 14, 1998

The show starts with a performance by The Nitro Girls.

Mike Tenay is at the downtown airport in Greenville, South Carolina, and as a white limousine pulling away from an airplane, it is reported that "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair is returning to WCW for the first time in months. Tenay tries to interview the limo driver as well as one of the crew of the nearby plain, but to no avail.

Van Hammer vs. Alex Wright ends in a no-contest after Ernest "The Cat" Miller enters the ring after kicking Van Hammer in the back. After the match, The Cat brags once again that he is the baddest in the world and that there is not one person in the world who can beat him. WCW security and local police immediately arrest The Cat after this as Miller shouts "Somebody call my mama! I am the greatest!" The Cat is then escorted to and placed into the back of a squad car.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Bret "The Hit Man" Hart, who hobbles his way to the ring. Bret says that for the longest time, he has made a complete jackass out of himself, and that Hollywood Hogan is full of crap. He says Hogan ran from him and made promises to him, but he is scum, and what he and Stevie Ray did to him last night - which has now taken him out action for some time and cost him the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship, which he says he never earned in the first place - has made it clear that when he comes back, he will come back stronger and make Hogan's life a living hell. Bret does not blame the fans for losing their respect for him as "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, and says he is not here to beg for forgiveness. Piper gets in the ring and tells Bret that he told everybody about how much of a jerk Bret was two weeks ago, and now that he hears him talking like this, he tells Bret that he is not the first to be conned by Hollywood Hogan, whom he calls "a piece of slime." He goes on to say that if Bret's dad were to hear him right now, he would be proud, as his father was a fighter and so is Bret. Piper tells Bret not to bury himself in his own pity, and to soar like the eagles and prove who he is and what he is made of, and to never let the fans down again. He says that the wrestling business is harsh, and if America can find it in their hearts to forgive President Bill Clinton, they can forgive Bret. After Piper leaves, Bret says he needs to see what happens next, but he asks for the fans to give him another chance.

Saturn beats Kendell Windham. After the match, Riggs, Sick Boy, Horace, Lodi and Kidman head to the ring while Raven - with Kanyon in tow - tells them from the crowd that their 24 hours of freedom are over and to re-join them. Saturn tells them that they are all free for good. Saturn tells Riggs he is a tag team champ and to do something with himself. He tells Horace to lose the stop sign and to get a pair of trunks and be a star. He asks Lodi how his neck is doing, he tells Sick Boy he is a hot young star in the making, and tells Kidman to win the Cruiserweight title. He then tells them all to leave, because they are free. Raven tells them to go back over the railing, but the Flock walks out on him and Kanyon. Saturn then tells Raven that it's "mind over matter" and that The Flock doesn't mind and that Raven doesn't matter. Lodi is noticed to still be hesitant about leaving Raven, but he leaves regardless.

Wrath beats The Renegade.

Eric Bischoff, Miss Elizabeth, The Disciple and Hollywood Hogan show up. Hogn says the two things that the nWo-ites cannot stand are cowards and sissies, and calls Bret "The Hit Man" Hart a sissy before telling him to sit on the porch with "Rowdy" Roddy Piper for they weren't in his league. He goes on to call The Warrior a coward who does not want to face him and who robbed him of his plan to take the World title back from Goldberg. Now Hogan says The Warrior is in his world, and that he will send him back to where no man ever came from. He tehn tells The Warrior that if he wants to get a piece of him and live forever, he can take his chance, because he challenges him to a match. When he wipes the paint off his face and defeats him, he will go after Goldberg and the World title. Suddenly, fog envelops the ring, and when it clears, The Disciple is gone, much to Hogan's shock and dismay.

Pyrotechnics signal the start of the second hour.

It is announced that Kaz Hayashi is injured tonight and will not be able to wrestle. Kidman will be taking his place in Hayashi's match.

Kidman, fresh out of Raven's Flock, beats Juventud Guerrera to win the WCW Cruiserweight Championship! Juventud Guerrera claps for Kidman and gives him kudos after the match, and Saturn shows up at ringside to give him a standing ovation.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund gets in an interview with WCW Executive Committee Chairman J.J. Dillon, who is dressed in a tuxedo and says that what is going on now is one of the most exciting moments he has witnessed in a long time. Dillon keeps the reason behind his closed-door meeting under wraps, wanting to keep Okerlund surprised too. Head of WCW Security denies Okerlund entry to this secret meeting.

We see Jackie Chan, who tells us to stay tuned to get a sneak peak at his new movie Rush Hour, opening this weekend in theaters.

Eddie Guerrero argues with Eric Bischoff backstage. Bischoff refuses to release Eddie Guerrero, and sends him on a tour with New Japan Pro Wrestling in Japan in retaliation.

The British Bulldog beats The Barbarian after knocking Jimmy Hart off the apron.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interview WCW Executive Committee Chairman J.J. Dillon. Dillon states that Scott Steiner and Buff Bagwell's behavior from last night was unacceptable and an embarrassment to themselves. The Executive Committee has declared that Scott Steiner must face Rick Steiner again at Halloween Havoc. Suddenly, the lights go in and out, and laughter can be heard.

We see another performance by The Nitro Girls.

Don Portucci, Jr. from Buffalo, New York is the winner of this week's Nitro Party pack winner. We see some footage of his Nitro Party.

Fog envelops the ring before the next match, and The Warrior shows up. He has The Disciple next to him on his knees, and he is grabbing him by the back of his leather vest. nWo Hollywood shows up, and Warrior asks Hogan if he is missing something. He tells the rest of the black-and-white to stand their ground, and tells Hogan that they can live as either warriors or ordinary men, and that his actions as an ordinary man has only engraved the purpose of the One Warrior Nation revolution upon the minds of those warriors who will find the courage. Warrior then says a disciple who stands behind a mindless dictator cowers in fear at the face of a leader. As for Hogan's challenge at Halloween Havoc, he accepts, but tells Hogan to remember that the graveyard are full of cowardly, trembling, conquerable men. Fog envelops the ring again, but The Warrior has disappeared once more along with The Disciple.

Scott Steiner beats Silver King and Norman Smiley with a double Steiner Recliner. Buff Bagwell attacks Silver King and Norman Smiley after the match.

We see another performance by The Nitro Girls.

Pyrotechnics signal the start of the third hour.

The Giant beats Meng with the choke slam, which stops Meng from being able to reach him with the Tongan Death Grip.

Scott Hall comes to the ring tipsy before the next match, with Vincent carrying a bottle in a brown paper bag.

Eric Bischoff shows up during Scott Hall's match with Lex Luger, and tells Hall "I can't save you forever." He asks Hall to come with him to the back, and assures him that he is not fired. Kevin Nash and Konnan show up, and Nash tries to talk with Hall, who says that his life is falling apart. Hall takes another drink, then spits it into Bischoff. The match ends, and Bischoff calls for a commercial break.

WCW Executive Committee Chairman J.J. Dillon enters the ring, and asks "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson to come to the ring. Anderson shows upand Dillon says that he owes it to him and to the fans to say what he said to him privately. Dillon apologizes to what he has said to him in the past few weeks, and even though he meant well, he put him in a bad position and hopes that he can earn his forgiveness. Arn then takes the microphone and says that when 15,000 blow the roof off a place, that's what a pop smells like. He says that what Dillon said to is what the fans have been telling him for the last year-and-a-half, and that is to be the man that he has always been. He could hear those words,, as something was in the way. He starts at the beginning, as this is a new beginning for The Four Horsemen. When he has a boy, he always knew he wanted to be a professional wrestler, and when it happened, it was the greatest day of his life. When he started going across American in 1986, he did it as a Horsemen, and his life changed forever. He opened doors he never dreamed he would open, and everyone across the nation showed him who he was. Since then, he has upheld the standards that he and everyone else set for themselves. Last year, he woke up on an operating table, and Arn Anderson the wrestler was dead. He felt that he could not be a Horeseman if he could not be a wrestler, and when he felt that way, "The Crippler" Chris Benoit said it can still happen. He brings out Benoit, Steve "Mongo" McMichael and Dean Malenko. Anderson tells Benoit that he got this rolling and if there is a finer wrestler than him, he doesn't know who it is. He says Benoit's intensity got his attention and that it will help him uphold the Horseman standard. He tells Mongo that he may be stubborn, but he is all-an and all-pro, and that he will mean to wrestling what he meant to football. As for Malenko, he calls Malenko a paragon of respect as and exemplified what a Horseman has always meant: over-achievement, and tells Malenko that he did get it after all. He then says that through the year 2000, The Horsemen will do what the fans have asked, but he feels it fair to state that he will not be responsible for what happens next as they are not nice guys and that heads will roll. He then says to be careful what you wish for, as you will get it. He then brings out "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, who hasn't been seen since early in the year. Flair tears up at the immense positive reaction from the crowd and thanks them. He says he is almost embarrassed by the reaction, but when he looks back at the last 25 years, he says this is all worth it. He then says he heard that the Horsemen are having a party tonight, and that the most elite group that Eric Bischoff declared dead is alive and well. He tells Bischoff this may be his last shot, but he will make it his best. He then says that this moment makes for good television, as it was a real-life situation just like how Anderson passed the torch in Columbia, South Carolina. He goes on to say that Anderson is one of the greatest performers to ever live, and that Bischoff squashed him in one night and told him to disband the Horsemen for they are dead. When he looked in the mirror the next mirror, he saw a man who gave up and quit, and for that, he owes the fans and The Horsemen an apology, and says it won't happen again. Bischoff shows up, and Flair calls him "an obnoxious, overbearing asshole" who abuses his own power and dares him to cut him off. He calls Bischoff a liar, a cheat, a scam and "a no-good son-of-a-bitch" before daring Bischoff to fire him.

Diamond Dallas Page guests on commentary for the next match, and talks about the War Games match, saying that as soon as the opportunity arose in the match, he took it and earned his World Heavyweight title shot at Halloween Havoc. He also provides some insight on his upcoming match at Halloween Havoc against Goldberg.

Goldberg retains the WCW World Heavyweight Championship against Sting after Hollywood Hogan kicks Sting in the back of the head during a Scorpion Death Lock attempt, out of the view of referee Billy Silverman. This allows Goldberg to hit the Spear and the Jackhammer on Sting, and disgusts Diamond Dallas Page to the point that he leaves commentary. Hogan immediately attacks Goldberg after the match ends, and Bret "The Hit Man" Hart rushes into the ring and goes after Hogan. Goldberg, Bret and referee Billy Silverman check on Sting after the match, and Goldberg helps Sting up to end the show.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for August 24, 1998

The show starts with a limousine pulling up at the back entrance of the arena. Hollywood Hogan, Eric Bischoff, Miss Elizabeth and The Disciple come out of it and head to the ring. Bischoff says that his pen in the most powerful thing in the universe aside from Hogan, as he has used it to run Vader and Johnny B. Badd out of WCW and can use it run anyone out - or keep anyone in - WCW that he chooses. Hogan then says when Bischoff writes it down, he executes it, and says someone will be beaten up really badly tonight, with the only question being who will be first and how many will be left laying. Hogan calls Diamond Dallas Page "a puke" with no power or stroke, and that the fans might as well forget about him being at War Games. Hogan says he saw the fear in The Warrior's eyes, and the last time he ran away from him, he ran away for eight years. As for the Wolfpac, he will go through them one by one before he rips DDP apart, wins War Games, makes Goldberg drop to his knees and wins the World Heavyweight Championship.

Wrath - making his return after months off television with a new look and without James Vandenberg - beats Mike Enos.

We see a performance by The Nitro Girls in the crowd. This week's Nitro Party Pack winner is Elizabeth Adams from Illinois. We see some footage of her Nitro party.

Dean Malenko beats Kaz Hayashi with the Texas Cloverleaf.

We see a video package of nWo Wolfpac.

nWo Wolfpac (Kevin Nash, Lex Luger, Konnan) show up. Nash tells Hollywood Hogan he can continue to run his mouth every week, he can't run with the few and proud that are the Wolfpac, and if Hogan wants a war, he's got one. Nash says he likes a good war, and when he came here, it was all about a war that still continues now. He tells Bischoff and Hogan that if he has to eliminate them to run WCW, so be it. If he has to win the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, so be it, too. He then addresses Goldberg, saying that the first time he Speared him, they had a beer with him and everything was good, but last week, the only guys he shared a beer with were Luger and Konnan. Since Luger and Konnan have prior matches, he then tells Goldberg that if he wants to bury the hatchet and make things right, he must tag team with him against Hollywood Hogan and The Giant. Goldberg shows up before Nash can say much else, says something to Nash, then leaves immediately. Nash tells the crowd that Goldberg has accepted, then says Hogan and The Giant are next.

Konnan beats Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart with the Tequila Sunrise.

Tony Schiavone interviews Stevie Ray, who says he will deal with the guys who slapped him around as of late. As far as Chris Jerioch and the Television title go, he will go after Jericho and get the title back. Suddenly, Booker T shows up for the first time since his injury, and says he has left the country for a while to let his body heal so he can give the fans 110% again. He has been back for a couple of days, and everyone is asking why Stevie Ray has done what he has done, as he worked hard for the Television title and wants to know what is going on as well. Stevie Ray admits he took and defended the belt, because the belt is becoming between them and because WCW Executive Committee Chairman J.J. Dillon was "pimping him around." Booker T reminds Stevie Ray that he was out with an injury for six months, and that he had to do what he had to do to make a living. Schiavone then announces that Dillon has made Booker T the #1 contender for the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship in a press release from today, much to the irritation of Stevie Ray. Booker T says he is #1 contender for one reason: to get redemption for Bret "The Hit Man" Hart injuring him, and wants Stevie Ray to watch his back.

We see another performance by The Nitro Girls.

Tony Schiavone interviews Diamond Dallas Page. DDP calls Eric Bischoff a fool, and says he would like to stick his pen into his right ear and squish it through his left. As for Hollywood Hogan, he cannot steal his heart, and he will be at War Games. He says he is not the guy to ask for help, but if someone wants to step up to the plate at War Games, all they have to do is step up to the plate. All of a sudden, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper - who hasn't been seen in a while - shows up. He comes out as WCW Commissioner, saying he has been watching DDP and that he has done one hell of a job. As he was in Hollywood shooting a movie, he learned that he is the only guy that Eric Bischoff cannot fire. Since he is WCW Commissioner - and he loves war - he has decided to change a few things. He has decided to join DDP at War Games, but decides to also make a dream team, saying there should be a revolution, not a resolution. Also, before the program is over, he will use all his powers to make the greatest dream team anyone has ever team, and declares "Let the game begin." Pyrotechnics signal the start of the second hour.

Steve "Mongo" McMichael beats Riggs. After the match, Horace shows up and attacks Mongo from behind with a stop sign and Sick Boy joins Horace in beating Mongo up. Dean Malenko runs in and sends Horace running before putting Sick Boy in the Texas Cloverleaf. Saturn breaks the hold, and stares down Malenko before diving at Horace, who knocks him out with the stop sign. Nevertheless Malenko and Mongo are able to take out Sick Boy and Riggs. Mongo wants Malenko to raise the four fingers, but Malenko, knowing he is not a full-fledged member, shakes his hand instead. We then see another performance by The Nitro Girls.

Scott Norton quickly beats Rick Fuller.

We see a video package of nWo Hollywood.

Scott Steiner shows up with his doctor again. He tells the crowd that before Michael Jordan came to Chicago, Illinois, Chicago sucked, and since last season was his last season, Chicago will suck again and will need another personality to put on a pedestal and that it might as well be him as he has no peers and is a man among boys. He then says his brother Rick Steiner went back to Detroit, Michigan to train so he can train to beat him at Fall Brawl, then says they don't have to wait until then and they can do it right now as he is the better Steiner brother. The doctor tells him he cannot allow him to wrestle tonight. When Scott asks if it is because he hurt, the doctor says "Right on!" Scott says he has to go against his orders, then tells the production crew to play Rick's music and get him out here.Rick's music hits, but Buff Bagwell shows up mockingly looking and acting like Rick Steiner. "Rick" growls when asked questions by Scott, such as whether or not Rick is still mad at him and if they are going to fight by the rules. They shake hands and are about to fight when Scott offers "Rick" a dog biscuit. "Rick" choose the dog biscuit, then Scott tells him to roll over and play dead so Scott can get the pinfall. He then says this is what will happen to the real Rick Steiner at Fall Brawl, as he is the better Steiner brother. Buff says he is buff, tough and still the stuff and that everyone in the stands is stupid.

Lex Luger beats Brian Adams with the Torture Rack.

We see a video package of Hollywood Hogan and The Warrior.

The Warrior shows up. Last week, after years of absence and a sporadic career, he stood face-to-face with the man he once looked upon at his mentor, Hollywood Hogan. It is common knowledge that to master a field, one must watch and emulate the champion, and says that Hogan was once that champion and master of everything he tried to emulate. But when he looked through his eyes, he saw little to none of the virtues that he or the fans remember, and if there are any, they lay shrouded between layers of deceit and infamy. He says how Hogan rached his present condition needs not be analyzed, and says that Hogan sold out to mediocrity. When that became difficult, he sold out to mindless self-pity, trading in being one-in-a-million for being one of the millions. He then tells Hogan that he miscalculated, for he never assumed anyone would come forward knowing the difference between a rebellion and a revolution, and that this will be his biggest mistake. Everything that Hogan reveres is threatened from this moment forward, and his world will completely turn upside-down, for tonight, he unleashes the power of the Warriors and leta loose the "OWN" revolution - the One Warrior Nation. Warrior says a one-time hero with an unlimited yet undisciplined mind is a dangerous thing, and that he and the Warriors will eradicate that danger as Hogan will be destroyed, as Warrior intends to show that a revolution is built on better ideas, not belligerent idiocy. He intends to show the world a revolution is based on magnificence, not malfeasance. He intends to show that a revolution is based on courage, not cowardliness. He tells Hogan that this is all he knows to know, as next week, the revolution continues. Static then appears on the video screen, the Warrior signal is flashed and the arena goes dark.

Pyrotechnics signal the start of the third hour.

Curt Hennig and Chris Jericho wrestle to a ten-minute time limit draw. Jericho tosses referee Mark Curtis out of the way and continues to wrestle with Curt Hennig, then The Giant shows up. Hennig tells Jericho to attack Jericho, but The Giant grabs Hennig by the throat and pushes him down. Jericho gets away with the Television title, then Hennig confronts The Giant. Chris Jericho retains the WCW World Television Championship.

We see another performance by The Nitro Girls.

Booker T and Stevie Ray continue to argue over what they discussed earlier in the show backstage.

Before the next match, Bret "The Hit Man" Hart says he is as nice as he ever was, and that the fans have corrupted the world of heroes and that there is nobody you can trust or rely on in the world anymore. This is why he turned to the one guy he can respect: Hollywood Hogan. He then says that he has a dilemma in a guy who is like a brother to him in the form of Sting, as they both think, act and almost look alike. He has respect for one man who belongs in one thing and respect for another man who still makes a lot of mistake. He then says the fans are what is wrong with the world of wrestling today, and he has decided to put Booker T on the long list of people he has wiped out since entering WCW before calling him out. When Booker T's music hits, Booker fails to show.

We see Stevie Ray yelling at Booker T, who is down on the floor. Stevie Ray then says he will take care of Bret "The Hit Man" Hart, then heads to the ring. Bret tells Stevie Ray he has no problem with him, and Bret says he has no idea what happened to him. Suddenly, Curt Hennig, Buff Bagwell and The Giant show up, with Henning holding a black-and-white nWo shirt. Bret says he knows Booker has made some mistakes, but Stevie Ray shouldn't have to pay for them. At the same time, he should not have to take his anger out on him. SUddenly, more members of nWo Hollywood show up and get in the ring, and Bret tells Stevie he can go the easy way or the hard way, and offers him a spot in nWo Hollywood. Bret says they don't want him to get in a bad situation, saying that the black-and-white respects him and does not want to put him in a bad spot. The Giant tosses him the black-and-white shirt, and Bret tells Stevie Ray not to listen to the fans as they will lead him to the road to ruin. It does not take long for Stevie Ray to doo the "two sweet" hand signal with everyone, and Stevie Ray says that Booker T has made his choice and he has made his. Stevie Ray is the newest member of nWo Hollywood.

Hollywood Hogan and The Giant vs. Kevin Nash and Goldberg turns into an all-out war between nWo Hollywood and nWo Wolfpac, with the black-and-white attacking Goldberg only for the black-and-red to go after them. The ring is quickly cleared, and even after taking a beat from nWo Hollywood, Golberg hits a Spear and a Jackhammer on Curt Hennig, who has asked to be involved int his match. The match ends up being a win for Goldberg. Hogan is trapped between Goldberg and Nash, and Nash accidentally boots Goldberg in the face only for it to have no effect. Hogan runs away and Nash goes after him, then The Giant gets in the ring and sends Goldberg out of the ring. As The Giant sics nWo Hollywood on Goldberg, The Warrior, Diamond Dallas Page and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper rush in and take the fight to Hogan and nWo Hollywood. Goldberg is then seen staring down Kevin Nash, and Konnan tries to keep Nash back as the show ends.
