"The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit beats Dean Malenko to earn a shot at the WCW World Heavyweight Championship after reversing a roll-up from Malenko into an inside cradle. During the match, it is announced that Buff Bagwell vs. Berlyn - originally scheduled for Fall Brawl but never took place due to Bagwell not making it to the arena in time - is official for tonight. Also, Shane Douglas and Perry Saturn are at ringside in case outside interference happens again. Both men show respect after the match.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, who has not been seen in a while. He says that the last six months have been a whirlwind, and says that for the first time in five years, he has a real job. He says he has been held down for a lifetime, and that it could not happen in North Carolina for one day. He says he and Hulk Hogan have a date with destiny, and yet when he's gone for six week, Sting is suddenly champion. As for Sting, he was jealous when he first met him, but he knew he was the man and that Sting was the constant and "the franchise." When he walked into the building tonight and found out how Sting beat Hulk Hogan for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, he was disappointed. Sting suddenly shows up with Lex Luger, who is holding a baseball bat. Flair tells Sting and Luger to get back up the aisle, because he is not done talking yet. Sting says he and Flair go way back, and when he looks back over the last ten years, he wonders how often Flair lured him in and then stabbed him in the back. He says that he and Flair - whom he calls "Slick Ric" - have a very unique situation tonight, as he has a lot of respect for him after putting him on the map and making him who he is at this very moment. He says that Flair is a kiss-stealin', wheelin-dealin', high-flyin', limousine ridin' son of a gun. He says Flair is the dirtiest player in the game, and he learned from him. He says this situation exists because he respects him, and gives him the opportunity to go back to the back peacefully and gracefully. Flair says it is a tribute to Sting's manhood that Sting acknowledges him for his success, for when he starts talking about what kind of guy Flair is, "he sounds like [his] wife." Suddenly, Flair says he will leave, then pretends to leave and gets back in the ring. Sting says that he has been waiting for the last ten years, and says Flair is in power. Ten years ago, he and Luger always wondered when they would have the ball and run with it, and says that now, they are ready to have the ball. Luger says that Flair coined the phrase "total package," and says he respects him, and gives him another chance to walk away. He says diamonds are forever, but Flair is not. This leads to "Luger sucks" chants. Luger does not want to lecture Flair, as Flair knows what is best for his career, but he says this is the year of graceful exits as seen by several pro athletes walking out on top during the year. He demands that Flair take a walk. Flair says he was ready to retire until he watched WCW recently, and noticed they couldn't do it without him, and that is why he is back. He respects Sting, but Sting isn't going to walk over him to get any more notoriety or recognition. He respects Sting, but says Sting will have to earn the rest of it. Flair is then attacked from out of nowhere by Luger, and Luger and Sting proceed to attack Flair. Luger then puts Flair in the Torture Rack before Sting puts Flair in the Scorpion Death Lock. Hulk Hogan and Bret "The It Man" Hart then make their way to the ring, and Sting and Luger slowly get out of the ring. Trainer Danny Young and a few referees check on Flair. Hogan says he does not know what planet Sting and Luger are living on, but he is about to take them out of their dream world. He says what they did to Flair is over the line, and even after all their wars, he still has respect for Flair and he was not about to let Flair get hit with a baseball bat. He and Bret were in the back and saw what was going down, and he says he will be damned if it happens anymore. When he said "training, praying and kicking somebody's ass," he and Bret talked, and now they are going to show what kicking ass is all about. They are not leaving the building, as they are going to get Sting and Luger in the ring and they will make sure it happens about. Bret says it's high time to right some wrongs and that tonight is the perfect night. He tells Sting and Luger to get ready to be excellently executed. Hogan says this one is for him but also for Flair, since the fans respect him. Tonight, he and Bret will kick Sting and Luger's asses. Backstage, Sting and Luger talk. Sting says there is something wrong with this picture, and Luger says he is still not medically cleared and that he does not have his wrestling gear with him. Sting says there is no match.
Two black Mercedes-Benz vehicles surrounded by security show up at the arena. Berlyn comes out of the car in the rear along with interpreter Uta Ludendorff.
Riki Rachtmann butters up the North Carolina crowd, saying the women there are finer than in Miami, Florida as . He then brings out Spice and Kimberly of The Nitro Girls, and Kimberly announces that Zuli Mertz is the finalist for Miami. We then meet the two finalist for North Carolina: Alyson deDecker and Ashley Beck. Viewers can vote on who goes on to the finals at WCW.com. Next week, the fun continues in Cincinnati, Ohio on Saturday morning at 9 AM at The Cincinnati Sports Mall for the first part of the auditions and 10 PM at the Waterfront for the second part of the auditions.
WCW Executive Committee Chairman J.J. Dillon is on the phone, looking to see if Lex Luger is medically cleared. Turns out, he has been cleared for three weeks.
University of North Carolina college basketball players Michael Brooker and Brian Bersticker, NFL Defensive Lineman Tim Goad and Dtroit Pistons basketball player Eric Montross are all in the front row.
Disco Inferno beats Erik Watts. During the match, Sid Vicious is seen watching the match from the locker room. Sid says he feels sorry for the participants. After the match, Disco Inferno says he told everybody he is a superstar, icon, a main eventer and the man who took WCW into the millennium. Sid Vicious shows up with Charles Robinson, and proceeds to decimate both Disco and Watts as his streak extends to 81-0. Sid says someone asks him if he can define "intimidation." He says Bobby "The Brain" Heenan has the perfect answer for that, as he will stereotype him as "the big dumb guy." He says everyone who comes to field - whether it be Heenan, Hulk Hogan, Bret "The Hit Man" Hart or Goldberg - to meet the man and meet him in a battle of wits or a physical battle, everyone comes unarmed with no way to win. He has reached out and taken the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship, and he cn honestly say for the first time in WCW, the United States title is untarnished. He will not let trash touch his belt - especially Goldberg - have the opportunity to touch what is his, as in the year 2000, the people will only sing one name: Sid. He then powerbombs Disco Inferno for the third time and pins him, extending the streak to 82 wins.
Silver King vs. Norman Smiley ends after Sid Vicious shows up again and destroys both men. During the match, it is announced that WCW Mayhem will be coming out for Nintendo 64 and Sony PlayStation in 10 days, 2 hours and 48 minutes. The streak is extended to 84-0, and Sid tells Bobby "The Brain" Heenan to never, ever stereotype him ever again.
The West Texas Rednecks (Barry and Kendall Windham) beat Steven Regal and Dave Taylor after Curt Hennig hits Regal with the cow bell behind referee Mickey Jay's back. During the match, it is announced that according to trainer Danny Young, "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair will be okay following the attack on him from Sting and Lex Luger.
Goldberg is seen entering the building, and is escorted to the ring by WCW security and local law enforcement despite not being in his ring gear, much to the annoyance of Prince Iaukea, who is scheduled to face Jerry Flynn, who is already in the ring. Goldberg apologizes to Jerry Flynn, and asks him to give him a second. Goldberg says he has always been told that good things are worth waiting for, but he has run out of patience. Every week, he has been watching Sid Vicious come out to the ring and wreak havoc, and he will admit that he admires his skill, his size and his strength. One thing he will not stand for is his mouth, however, and tonight, he puts a stop to it. Goldberg says he has worked hard at his record, and he came out to the ring and destroyed everybody one by one. Unlike him, however, Sid cheats, comes from behind, interferes in others' matches and stick his nose in other people's business. Tonight, he draws the line, and he stomps a hole in Sid's ass. He tells Sid to show him and the people that he has a backbone, and to come out of the back and show him who the man is. Not only does he know who the man is, so do the people, and it's not Sid. He tells Sid to quit singin' it and start bringin', because he's next and he has all the time in the world. Sid is seen watching from the locker room, and he says it does not happen until he says it is ready to happen, as this is his show. He packs up as he says he makes the decisions around here. Goldberg says it may be tomorrow, it may be next week, but eventually, Sid's ass is next. Goldberg is then attacked by Jerry Flynn, who almost immediately gets Speared and Jackhammered.
Before the next match, Brian Knobbs tells the fans that tonight, he and Hugh Morrus are going to become the new WCW World Tag Team Champions before calling the fans idiots.
The First Family (Hugh Morrus and Brian Knobbs) vs. Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) for the WCW World Tag Team Championships ends in a no-contest after The West Texas Rednecks (Barry and Kendall Windham) get involved in the match; Harlem Heat manages to hold everyone else in the ring off, however. Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) retain the WCW World Tag Team Championships.
The Insane Clown Posse (Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope) beat Lenny and Lodi after Lodi accidentally hits Lenny with a cross body during a double-team maneuver. Before the match gets started, the kid from the Lodi Party videos - who has been stopped by WCW security for charging the ring before in previous weeks - shows up and gets in the ring before. He gets chased out of the building by WCW security, who try to apprehend him.
Before the next match, "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit says that last night was one of the worst nights of his life, as Sid Vicious beat him from pillar to post and showed him why he calls himself "The Millennium Man." When he put him in the Crippler Crossface, he knew Sid tapped out, and he could not sleep at night thinking about it. When he made it to the arena, he asked the producer to replay the match, he saw Sid tap out on the tape. He did not come here to whine and cry, and congratulates Sid Vicious from beating him for the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship. He says that he beat Dean Malenko, one of the most talented technical wrestlers in WCW today, to earn a shot at the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. He says that if Sting thinks he is the man, then he should get into the ring right now to show everybody in the world what kind of champion he is. Instead of Sting, he gets Rick Steiner, who tells Benoit that he was listening to him in the back, but says Sting has better things to do than deal with him. If Benoit wants a title shot, he's got one, and he wants to know how bad Benoit is right here, right now.
"The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit beats Rick Steiner to become the WCW World Television Champion! During the match, Rick Steiner confronts referee Mickey Jay for not counting fast enough. When he pushes Mickey Jay out of the ring, Benoit gets Rick Steiner with a roll-up from behind and gets a three-count to win the title. After the match, Rick Steiner attacks Benoit, but Dean Malenko runs in, and Steiner stops before attacking Mickey Jay again.
We see a video package of The Revolution ("The Canadian Crippler' Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko, Perry Saturn, Shane Douglas).
Rey Mysterio Jr., Kidman and Konnan show up to counter the fact that the rest of The Revolution ("The Canadian Crippler' Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko, Shane Douglas) are at ringside for Eddie Guerrero vs. Perry Saturn.
Perry Saturn beats Eddie Guerrero. After the match, Rey Mysterio Jr., Kidman, Konnan and the rest of The Revolution ("The Canadian Crippler' Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko, Shane Douglas) get in the ring before it gets physical between Eddie and Saturn.
Uta Ludendorff guests on commentary for the next match (and speaks in both English and German).
Berlyn beats Buff Bagwell after Berlyn's bodyguard punches Buff Bagwell in the face behind referee Billy Silverman's back.
We see a narrated video package concerning Sting's actions at Fall Brawl.
Sting and Lex Luger beats Hulk Hogan and Bret "The Hit Man" Hart. During the match, Diamond Dallas Page runs in with a baseball bat in his hand, but Hogan cuts him off as Bret has Sting in the sharpshooter. DDP drops the bat, and as referee Charles Robinson is dealing with Hogan and DDP on the outside, Luger hits Bret in the face with the bat, breaking the Sharpshooter and allowing Sting to get the win. Trainer Danny Young tends to Bret as the show ends.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for September 6, 1999
The show starts with the return of Bret "The Hit Man" Hart, who hasn't been seen since shortly after the death of his brother Owen Hart. He says he had this crazy idea to come down to Miami, Florida and make a big surprise, and says he is glad to be here. He feels he has been sitting at home for too long and thinking too much, and realized that he came to WCW to make a big difference, and he has waited. The one thing that has eluded him since he showed up, and he cannot make up his mind about whether or not to return full-time until he can face Hulk Hogan. He says it does not have to be for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, but admits it would be nice if it was. He says nobody can dispute whether or not Hogan is the greatest of all time, but he wants to know and lets the fans know that he will not come back until he gets that one match.
Riki Rachtmann asks the crowd to give him a "yeah" if they appreciate beautiful women, and announces that he is hosting the search for the new Nitro Girl. He then brings out The Nitro Girls, and announces that Miami, Florida is the first city for the eight-city search. He then interviews Kimberly, who says that New York City and Los Angeles have nothing on Miami, saying the city has some very talented dancers. We see a video from finalist Zuli Mertz and a video from finalist Erica White-Marcantonio. Kimberly says being a Nitro Girl involves involves being the total package: beautiful looks, a great personality and great dancing skills. Riki Rachtman then brings out Zuli and Erica, then asks the fans to vote on who will win at WCW.com. The next stop is Raleigh, North Carolina, where Kimberly asks the fans to come downtown to Jillian's at 8 PM next week to pick their favorite in the search for the new Nitro Girl.
Lodi beats Evan Karagias. During the match, a crazed fan gets carried out by security after nearly falling over the guardrail while carrying a "Lodi Rulez" sign, which gets torn up by Lenny, who is clad in cut-off denim shorts. Later on, Vampiro and The Insane Clown Posse (Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope) show up after Karagias hits Lenny with a high-flying cross body to the outside. The three of them stare at Karagias, distracting him and allowing Lodi to get the win.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Hulk Hogan. Hogan says he can't believe the sea of red and yellow running wild in Miami, Florida. When he was out in the ring during battle last week, he had no clue that "Macho Man" Randy Savage was in his dressing room, and he had no idea if he needed a chaperone or career advice, and says that is not his problem. As far as Lex Luger goes, he does not know what he is up to or what his agenda is, and tells him to stay out of his way as this is between him and Sting. He swears to the people that he looked Sting in the eye and told him that he would not stab him in the back and that as long as he is true to the red and yellow, this is how he is going to roll. He says everybody in Florida knows he drives a black Hummer with a white hardtop, and that the Hummer than ran down Kevin Nash with black with a white hardtop. He says the white hummer in the picture form last week was not the one that ran over Nash. He says that Luger is probably on the take as far as the evidence he claims to have is concerned. As far as tonight goes, he will get in the six-man tag steel cage match and prove to the fans, Sting and Goldberg that he is on the team.
Barry Horowitz vs. Al Green ends when Sid Vicious shows up and destroys both of them. Before the match, Tony Schiavone receives word that next week on Nitro, there will be a contest where the fans have the chance to become a millionaire. During the match, piano music plays as Sid Vicious comes down to the ring, and a stage with a piano comes down at the same time. As Sid Vicious destroys both Barry Horowitz and Al Green, a blonde-haired man in a silver, glittery vest plays the piano. Afterwards, Sid says that nobody is taking him seriously, and tells "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit that he will have to suffer and be the example for everyone to see, because he will have the best win record in WCW - better than Hogan's, Sting's or Goldberg's.
The West Texas Rednecks (Curt Hennig, Barry Windham, Kendall Windham) agree that they will have to take Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) out after what happened to Bobby Duncum Jr. All of a sudden, Vincent shows up in blue jeans, a leather vest and a black cowboy hat, wanting to join. They give him the opportunity to do so tonight.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray). Booker T says they came to Miami to get the party started and "burn this mother down," and all over Miami, they came to "turn this mother out." He says they will do one thing: they will have a big party and raise the roof. Okerlund accidentally drops the microphone. Stevie Ray says they have a score to settle with three fruit booties, and they want the tag team titles back. He tells The West Texas Rednecks (Curt Hennig, Barry Windham, Kendall Windham) to get ready as they will soon become the nine-time WCW World Tag Team Champions. Booker says that if you took every tag team in WCW, put their abilities together, put it in a blender and mixed it up, you might be able to start a car, but they like nitrous oxide and take you to the moon and back twice. He tells The West Texas Rednecks to get ready to rumble.
Backstage, Lex Luger and Sting are talking about what is going on with "Macho Man" Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan. They find Hulk Hogan talking with Bret "The Hit Man" Hart in his locker room, and Sting tells Hogan he wants five minutes of his time. Hogan tells Sting that if he wants five minutes, he has five minutes. The lights go out, then come back on, and the first thing shown on camera is a knocked-out Sting with a couch on top of him. Hulk Hogan is seen accusing Lex Luger of knocking Sting out and setting him up. Members of WCW security try to pull both men apart, and Lex Luger is removed from Hogan's dressing room.
The next match is a twelve man battle royal where the last man standing receives a WCW World Heavyweight Championship match next week. The first four thrown over the top rope are done, and the next six eliminated will wrestle against each other later tonight in singles matches based on the order of elimination. The final two men will fight for the shot at the WCW World Heavyweight Championship next week, regardless of who holds the World title at Fall Brawl. Bobby "The Brain" Heenan then says that there is even more trouble going on in the back, stating that one man managed to get in the ring, turn the lights out and escape.
"The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko win the 12-man battle royal. Curt Hennig (who stays outside ever since the beginning), Brian Knobbs, Vincent, and The Barbarian are the first four men out. The next men eliminated (in order) are Kendall Windham, Shane Douglas, Barry Windham, Jerry Flynn, Perry Saturn and Hugh Morrus. "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko are the last two men standing, and they will face each other later tonight for a shot at the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. Both men shake hands, and Saturn raises their hands in victory.
Prince Iaukea beats Johnny Swinger. Before the match, it is announced that WCW Mayhem for Sony PlayStation and Nintendo 64 in 17 days, 2 hours and 44 minutes. During the match, Vampiro and The Insane Clown Posse (Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope) show up. Violent J trips Johnny Swinger off the top rope and Vampiro hits Swinger with a Michinoku Driver as Shaggy 2 Dope distracts referee Billy Silverman. After the match, Vampiro and ICP corner Iaukea, and Vampiro tells Iaukea he owes him.
We see footage from earlier today where Buff Bagwell is at the merchandise table with some fans when Barlyn shows up with a man in a black suit. Buff Bagwell makes fun of Berlyn, but Berlyn silences everyone when he speaks to him in German. Head of WCW Security Doug Dellinger keeps Buff Bagwell from hopping over the merchandise table and going after him. Bagwell then says that he is buff and Berlyn is not the stuff, much to the delight of the nearby fans.
Buff Bagwell beats Steven Regal after David Taylor inadvertently hits Regal in the head with the Union Jack. After the match, Buff says he loves Miami, Florida because it is part of the United States of America. Earlier tonight, Berlyn wanted to step on his toes, but when you step on Buff's toes, you step on Miami's toes. He tells Berlyn he won't be fighting just him at Fall Brawl, he will be fighting the United States, and tells him "Don't sing it, bring it."
Kidman, Chavo Guerrero Jr. and Eddie Guerrero beat Blitzkrieg, Juventud Guerrera (who is dressed much like Kidman) and Psychosis. During the match, Kidman rips the tanktop off Juventud Guerrera. Later on, Vampiro and The Insane Clown Posse (Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope) show up yet again, this time watching from the stage.
We see a performance by The Nitro Girls.
Shane Douglas beats Kendall Windham. During the match, Curt Hennig runs in and punches Shane Douglas from behind as referee Billy Silverman admonishes Kendall Windham. As the rest of The Revolution ("The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit, Perry Saturn, Dean Malenko) watch from backstage, Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) run in, and Stevie Ray whacks Kendall Windham with a slapjack as Booker T distracts Silverman, allowing Shane Douglas to hit the Pittsburgh Plunge.
It is announced that "The First Four Years: The Greatest Hits of Monday Nitro" will be available on VHS tomorrow at better video stores everywhere.
Barry Windham beats Jerry Flynn after Vincent chokes out Jimmy Hart and blasts Flynn with one of the tag team belts outside of the ring while referee Nick Patrick is not looking.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Berlyn. A large, black-suited man pats down Okerlund, then Berlyn shows up with Uta Ludendorff. Berlyn says he has challenge Buff Bagwell to meet him at Fall Brawl before Bagwell challenged him. He also says all Americans should learn to speak Germans, as it would improve their minds and keep them from making so many mistakes. Berlyn then says that the strength of Germany comes from its people, its culture and its mentality, and that he is the master of the German machine, which is his source of power. He says this it is fact, not theory, that he will destroy Buff Bagwell and the myth of American greatness at Fall Brawl. As the product of a German consortium, he will demonstrate to the American people that they are the world's leader. Berlyn says the German invasion has landed, and Bagwell be the first victim as the German machine sweeps over WCW. He then says losing is unacceptable.
We see another performance by The Nitro Girls.
Perry Saturn beats Hugh Morrus with the Rings of Saturn after Hugh Morrus takes too much time before No Laughing Matter. During the match, Tony Schiavone says WCW sends its prayers and best wishes to Brian Hildebrand aka referee Mark Curtis.
Jimmy Barron and 1-800-CALL-ATT advertises this Thursday's Thunder.

Barry Horowitz vs. Al Green ends when Sid Vicious shows up and destroys both of them. Before the match, Tony Schiavone receives word that next week on Nitro, there will be a contest where the fans have the chance to become a millionaire. During the match, piano music plays as Sid Vicious comes down to the ring, and a stage with a piano comes down at the same time. As Sid Vicious destroys both Barry Horowitz and Al Green, a blonde-haired man in a silver, glittery vest plays the piano. Afterwards, Sid says that nobody is taking him seriously, and tells "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit that he will have to suffer and be the example for everyone to see, because he will have the best win record in WCW - better than Hogan's, Sting's or Goldberg's.
The West Texas Rednecks (Curt Hennig, Barry Windham, Kendall Windham) agree that they will have to take Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) out after what happened to Bobby Duncum Jr. All of a sudden, Vincent shows up in blue jeans, a leather vest and a black cowboy hat, wanting to join. They give him the opportunity to do so tonight.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray). Booker T says they came to Miami to get the party started and "burn this mother down," and all over Miami, they came to "turn this mother out." He says they will do one thing: they will have a big party and raise the roof. Okerlund accidentally drops the microphone. Stevie Ray says they have a score to settle with three fruit booties, and they want the tag team titles back. He tells The West Texas Rednecks (Curt Hennig, Barry Windham, Kendall Windham) to get ready as they will soon become the nine-time WCW World Tag Team Champions. Booker says that if you took every tag team in WCW, put their abilities together, put it in a blender and mixed it up, you might be able to start a car, but they like nitrous oxide and take you to the moon and back twice. He tells The West Texas Rednecks to get ready to rumble.
Backstage, Lex Luger and Sting are talking about what is going on with "Macho Man" Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan. They find Hulk Hogan talking with Bret "The Hit Man" Hart in his locker room, and Sting tells Hogan he wants five minutes of his time. Hogan tells Sting that if he wants five minutes, he has five minutes. The lights go out, then come back on, and the first thing shown on camera is a knocked-out Sting with a couch on top of him. Hulk Hogan is seen accusing Lex Luger of knocking Sting out and setting him up. Members of WCW security try to pull both men apart, and Lex Luger is removed from Hogan's dressing room.
The next match is a twelve man battle royal where the last man standing receives a WCW World Heavyweight Championship match next week. The first four thrown over the top rope are done, and the next six eliminated will wrestle against each other later tonight in singles matches based on the order of elimination. The final two men will fight for the shot at the WCW World Heavyweight Championship next week, regardless of who holds the World title at Fall Brawl. Bobby "The Brain" Heenan then says that there is even more trouble going on in the back, stating that one man managed to get in the ring, turn the lights out and escape.
"The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko win the 12-man battle royal. Curt Hennig (who stays outside ever since the beginning), Brian Knobbs, Vincent, and The Barbarian are the first four men out. The next men eliminated (in order) are Kendall Windham, Shane Douglas, Barry Windham, Jerry Flynn, Perry Saturn and Hugh Morrus. Prince Iaukea beats Johnny Swinger. Before the match, it is announced that WCW Mayhem for Sony PlayStation and Nintendo 64 in 17 days, 2 hours and 44 minutes. During the match, Vampiro and The Insane Clown Posse (Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope) show up. Violent J trips Johnny Swinger off the top rope and Vampiro hits Swinger with a Michinoku Driver as Shaggy 2 Dope distracts referee Billy Silverman. After the match, Vampiro and ICP corner Iaukea, and Vampiro tells Iaukea he owes him.
We see footage from earlier today where Buff Bagwell is at the merchandise table with some fans when Barlyn shows up with a man in a black suit. Buff Bagwell makes fun of Berlyn, but Berlyn silences everyone when he speaks to him in German. Head of WCW Security Doug Dellinger keeps Buff Bagwell from hopping over the merchandise table and going after him. Bagwell then says that he is buff and Berlyn is not the stuff, much to the delight of the nearby fans.
Buff Bagwell beats Steven Regal after David Taylor inadvertently hits Regal in the head with the Union Jack. After the match, Buff says he loves Miami, Florida because it is part of the United States of America. Earlier tonight, Berlyn wanted to step on his toes, but when you step on Buff's toes, you step on Miami's toes. He tells Berlyn he won't be fighting just him at Fall Brawl, he will be fighting the United States, and tells him "Don't sing it, bring it."
Kidman, Chavo Guerrero Jr. and Eddie Guerrero beat Blitzkrieg, Juventud Guerrera (who is dressed much like Kidman) and Psychosis. During the match, Kidman rips the tanktop off Juventud Guerrera. Later on, Vampiro and The Insane Clown Posse (Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope) show up yet again, this time watching from the stage.

Shane Douglas beats Kendall Windham. During the match, Curt Hennig runs in and punches Shane Douglas from behind as referee Billy Silverman admonishes Kendall Windham. As the rest of The Revolution ("The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit, Perry Saturn, Dean Malenko) watch from backstage, Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) run in, and Stevie Ray whacks Kendall Windham with a slapjack as Booker T distracts Silverman, allowing Shane Douglas to hit the Pittsburgh Plunge.
It is announced that "The First Four Years: The Greatest Hits of Monday Nitro" will be available on VHS tomorrow at better video stores everywhere.
Barry Windham beats Jerry Flynn after Vincent chokes out Jimmy Hart and blasts Flynn with one of the tag team belts outside of the ring while referee Nick Patrick is not looking.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Berlyn. A large, black-suited man pats down Okerlund, then Berlyn shows up with Uta Ludendorff. Berlyn says he has challenge Buff Bagwell to meet him at Fall Brawl before Bagwell challenged him. He also says all Americans should learn to speak Germans, as it would improve their minds and keep them from making so many mistakes. Berlyn then says that the strength of Germany comes from its people, its culture and its mentality, and that he is the master of the German machine, which is his source of power. He says this it is fact, not theory, that he will destroy Buff Bagwell and the myth of American greatness at Fall Brawl. As the product of a German consortium, he will demonstrate to the American people that they are the world's leader. Berlyn says the German invasion has landed, and Bagwell be the first victim as the German machine sweeps over WCW. He then says losing is unacceptable.

Perry Saturn beats Hugh Morrus with the Rings of Saturn after Hugh Morrus takes too much time before No Laughing Matter. During the match, Tony Schiavone says WCW sends its prayers and best wishes to Brian Hildebrand aka referee Mark Curtis.
Jimmy Barron and 1-800-CALL-ATT advertises this Thursday's Thunder.
"The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit vs. Dean Malenko almost ends with Sid Vicious decimating both men. The match fails to stop due to Charles Robinson being the referee, but the match is effectively over anyway.

Goldberg is attacked from behind by Bam Bam Bigelow and Kanyon at the start of the next match while Sid Vicious, Rick Steiner and Diamond Dallas Page triple-team Hulk Hogan.
Hulk Hogan and Goldberg beat Sid Vicious, Rick Steiner and Diamond Dallas Page in a 3-on-2 steel cage match. During the match, Sting manages to show up and runs in, despite being held back initially by Lex Luger. Sting tells Luger that he will try to get to the bottom of what is going on after the match. After the match, Luger gets in the ring and yells at Sting, and Sting finally yells back.Lex Luger then punches Sting as he leaves, and Sting attacks Luger as the show fades to black.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for August 23, 1999
The show starts with a performance by The Nitro Girls.
Mikey Whipwreck vs. Chase Tatum ends after Sid Vicious shows up and decimates both men, then pins them. Charles Robinson is seen carrying signs that show Sid Vicious' win streak, which are tossed out as the streak is increased by two when Sid pins both Tatum and Whipwreck. Sid then announces his streak is at 68-0 for those who do not know how to read, then mocks Goldberg. He says this message is directed at Goldberg, for every time he enters the ring, he will have another win and one more step up to the top of the mountain where he will stand. He says that no man will cast a stone and knock him down, and in the year 2000, only one name will be heard: Sid Vicious.
Backstage, Kidman meets up with Kimberly. Kimberly tells Kidman that she knows he meant no offense last week, and lets him know that she will talk to Diamond Dallas Page about what happened.
Goldberg is seen backstage. All of a sudden, he notices The Jersey Triad (Diamond Dallas Page, Bam Bam Bigelow, Kanyon) attacking Kidman, and goes after them. Security has to keep Goldberg away from them.
The Jersey Triad (Diamond Dallas Page, Bam Bam Bigelow, Kanyon) show up. DDP calls the crowd "nobody" and Las Vegas "a town full of losers" before saying they are the only winners. As far as Kidman goes, after Kanyon trained him and he brought him on, he now knows he does not even breathe the same air as her now. As for Goldberg, if he wants to jump into his world, he can down to the ring tonight so he can kick his teeth in. Last time they got in the ring, they blew the roof of, but this time, he is blowing the roof off Goldberg.
Sting shows up. Tonight is a huge night for him, because last week, Hulk Hogan was kind enough to put the WCW World Heavyweight Championship on the line against him tonight. He says that when Hogan speaks up, he speaks clearly, and he is positive that he heard Hogan say he would kick his ass. But he is Sting, and he is back in black, and with all due respect, he tells Hogan not to let his mouth override his butt. Suddenly, Lex Luger shows up for the first time in months. Both men hug, and the crowd chants Luger's name. He says it has been a while and that he has been watching close as he has been rehabbing an injury. He is here to wish him luck and show him support, as he is the one man who has always been there for him through thick and thin and the only guy to stick up for him when he came back. He says that Sting is the one man who has been the backbone of World Championship Wrestling. He then says he has a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach when he sees Hogan in the red and yellow and being everybody's best friend all of a sudden. He knows that there is history between them, mostly competition, and he thinks there is a foul stench to everything and he does not like it, and that he does not trust Hogan. Sting tells he does not think Hogan could be any more straight up than he was last week. Luger wishes Sting the best. Both men then leave.
Mike Tenay is outside of the arena, anticipating the arrival of Eric Bischoff, who shows up in a Hummer. Eric Bischoff neither confirms or denies that he will be taking control of World Championship Wrestling again.
Before the next match, Ernest "The Cat" Miller says he has whupped everyone in the locker room this year, especially Buff Bagwell, and says Buff Bagwell still cannot believe it and that he must be crazy. He says that if Buff has the guts, he wants him to get in the ring so they can finish it. It is then announced that WCW Mayhem will be released on Sony PlayStation and Nintendo 64 in a month, and that commentary will be talking about the game for the next four weeks.
Buff Bagwell beats Ernest "The Cat" Miller. During the match, Lex Luger confronts Sonny Onoo for attacking Buff Bagwell, and chases him around the ring as Buff hits The Cat with the Buff Blockbuster for the win.
We see a short video package for Berlyn after it is announced that he will be debuting on Nitro next week.
Before the next match, Diamond Dallas Page he is the two-time World champ and that Goldberg is nothing. He tells Goldberg to get in the ring so he can kick his teeth down his throat. As Goldberg heads to the ring, he is attacked from Bam Bam Bigelow with a garbage can. He is about to attack Bam Bam, but DDP tells him to leave him alone and get in the ring with him. Kanyon and DDP go after Goldberg, but Kanyon gets Speared and Bam Bam Bigelow suffers the same fate as soon as he gets in the ring. DDP flees through the crowd. Goldberg says that next week, DDP is next, and so is Kanyon and Bam Bam Bigelow.
We see a music video for "Good Ol' Boys" by The West Texas Rednecks.
We see a Nitro Party-turned-video package for Lodi that ends in a food fight.
Juventud Guerrera versus Lenny Lane (who just goes by the name Lenny) for the WCW Cruiserweight Championship ends with Sid Vicious powerbombing Juvi, Lenny and Lodi, bringing Sid's reign up after he pins all three men at the same time. Sid Vicious says the total just keeps getting higher and higher, and it seems there is no end to the madness that keeps happening. He says there is no one who can stop him, and that no one has the guts to do it. He says there is a good reason: anyone who makes the mistake will get laid out. He says the record stands at 70-0, and he tells Goldberg he is marching higher and higher. He says he can faintly hear a "Goldberg" chant as the year 2000 gets closer, and that it will soon get less and less as the name "Sid" is the only name that is heard. He says that even the crowd can listen, and tells them not to chant for Goldberg one more time to him. They chant it anyway, because in the year 2000, Goldberg, Hulk Hogan and Sting will not be in WCW anymore; only him.

After the match, Benoit calls Rick Steiner out, and tells Rick Steiner that the United States title is a symbol of his success, and if he wants a taste of his success, he will have to swallow whatever he dishes out. He says that Rick's bite is worse than his bark and that he is one of the toughest in wrestling today, but he backs down from nobody. He challenges Rick Steiner to face him for the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship. Rick says he'll do it from the aisle.
The Insane Clown Posse (Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope) beat Rey Mysterio Jr. and Kidman after Vampiro pushes Kidman off the top rope and double teams Kidman with Shaggy 2 Dope. After the match, ICP and Vampiro continue to attack Kidman and Rey, and Eddie Guerrero rushes into the ring, clearing it out.

As for Lex Luger, he had heard from his son Nick, who had asked about him, and told him that he will never stab him, his family, Sting or anyone in the back. He says that Sting is his friend, but when it comes to getting in that ring, he will train a little bit, pray a little bit and kick Sting's ass.
Rick Steiner vs. "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit for the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship ends in a no-contest. During the match, Rick uses referee Charles Robinson as a human shield to protect himself from Benoit's top rope headbutt. He grabs the United States title outside of the ring, then Perry Saturn shows up and fights off Rick Steiner only to be pulled of him by Sid Vicious with one hand. Sid and Rick then hit Saturn with a two-man powerbomb, then Benoit gets up, grabs the United States title and chases both men away. Benoit grabs the microphone and says there is a group of wrestlers who are sick and tired of everyone monopolizing the top spots in the company, and that on Thursday, Sid and Rick will find out what The Revolution is all about. Benoit then starts a "Revolution" chant. "The Canadian Crippler' Chris Benoit retains the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship.

KISS performs God of Thunder live in concert, then we are introduced to "The Demon," a wrestler with Gene Simmons' facepaint on. (The Demon is initially portrayed by Brian Adams for the first and only time here, and is then portrayed by long-time WCW talent Dale Torborg for the rest of the character's run. Not surprisingly, the concert is not even available on the WWE Network.)

The West Texas Rednecks (Barry and Kendall Windham) beat Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) to become the WCW World Tag Team Champions after Curt Hennig hits Booker T in the back of the head with Bobby Duncum Jr.'s cowbell as referee Nick Patrick is preoccupied with Stevie Ray and Barry Windham.
Vampiro beats Eddie Guerrero. During the match, The Insane Clown Posse (Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope) try to get involved, but Eddie gets Shaggy 2 Dope from the top rope. He slips off the top rope, hitting his knee on the way done. Later, Violent J distracts referee Bily Silverman so that Vampiro can send Eddie into Shaggy 2 Dope for the win. After the match, Rey Mysterio Jr. and Kidman rush in to keep Vampiro and ICP from doing even more damage to Eddie.
We see another performance by The Nitro Girls.
Sting vs. Hulk Hogan for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship ends after Sid Vicious and Rick Steiner attack both men. Goldberg runs into the ring and chases both Sid Vicious and Rick Steiner out. Lex Luger also shows up in the ring, and Sting and Hogan shake hands. With Goldberg and Luger as witnesses, Hogan tells Sting he will give him another shot at the world title, with Goldberg and Luger watching their backs. Hulk Hogan retains the WCW World Heavyweight Championship.
KISS performs God of Thunder live in concert, then we are introduced to "The Demon," a wrestler with Gene Simmons' facepaint on. (The Demon is initially portrayed by Brian Adams for the first and only time here, and is then portrayed by long-time WCW talent Dale Torborg for the rest of the character's run. Not surprisingly, the concert is not even available on the WWE Network.)

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for August 16, 1999
We see a performance by The Nitro Girls.
Lash LeRoux vs. Juventud Guerrera ends after Sid Vicious gets in the ring and decimates both men. Sid then announces that, in case nobody knows what is happening, that his name will be heard the loudest. In the year 2000, he will accumulate more wins than anyone in the history of professional wrestling, and that the name "Goldberg" will be obsolete. He says he does not enjoy beating people up like this, but it is what he has to do. He then says the fans can chant for Hulk Hogan all night long, but Hogan has something that belongs to him: the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. He says Hogan is not the World champ until he goes through him, and he will continue to beat people down like he did Lash LeRoux and Juventud Guerrera all night until he gives it to him.
"Lord" Steven Regal vs. Scotty Riggs ends when Sid Vicious stays true to his word and destroys both men. He tells Hogan that the rest of the locker room does not have to go through this, and to give him the World title or else this will happen all night long. He then tells Goldberg that is one more win towards making Goldberg's own name obsolete.
Before the next match, Mike Enos gets in Ernest "The Cat" Miller's face. The Cat then makes a prediction that he will beat Enos in less than four minutes, or else he will leave town and never come back.
Ernest "The Cat" Miller beats Mike Enos in three minutes and thirty-nine seconds when Sonny Onoo gets on the apron, distracting Enos. Enos lifts Onoo over his head, but The Cat kicks Enos in the back of his head, giving him the win after Enos drops Onoo.
We see a short video package from Berlyn, who has not been seen in months.
Sid Vicious is seen beating up Silver King and La Parka in a commissary storage room. He says that maybe now, Hogan will lsiten, as he does not want to see this happen to everyone in WCW. He tells Hogan to give him the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, and this will all be over.
Rey Mysterio Jr. vs. Lenny Lane ends with Sid Vicious destroying booth men in the match as well as Lodi, who ends up being part of a double choke slam with Lenny Lane. Sting runs in before Sid can hit Rey with a second power bomb, and both Sid and Sting brawl until Hulk Hogan runs into the ring. Sid leaves the ring, and "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews both Hogan and Sting. Sid tells Hogan knows he does not want any of him, and tells him to tell his fans that he will give him the World title. Hogan tells Sid that he looks pretty happy that he got away from Sting, but not as much as he got away from him. When he puts the WCW World Heavyweight Championship on the line, he wants Sid at 100%, because he came to train, say his prayers and kick Sid's ass. Sid says there is a miscommunication and that Hogan should think about it, but Hogan says Sting has his back and that Sting is the reason he put Kevin Nash out of the business and the reason he will beat Sid Vicious, and when he does that, he will give Sting a shot at the WCW World Heavyweight Championship next week. Hogan thanks Sting, because he will prove himself when he beats Sid, and says it looks like Sting accepted his challenge. Sting says it is "a big, fat, definite yes." Hogan tells Sting that they are friends right now, but next week, he is coming to train, say his prayers and kick Sting's ass.

As Johnny Grunge continues to splash Violent J - who is told by referee Johnny Boone that he is not the legal man - Violent J uses Boone as a human shield, knocking Boone out. Vampiro goes up top and hits Grunge with a spinning heel kick off the top rope, then places Violent J on top of Johnny Grunge to get the win, even though Violent J is still not the legal man.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray). Booker T says it was a long two years, but he and Stevie Ray are back again. There is no love lost for The Triad (Diamond Dallas Page, Kanyon, Bam Bam Bigelow), but he thanks Diamond Dallas Page for making Harlem Heat the eight-time WCW World Tag Team Champions. Stevie Ray says he had a relationship with "four fruit booties who couldn't get the job done." Be that as it may, he and Booker T are family. Booker T says they will defend the tag team titles each and efery week, and next week, they will "turn this mother out" in Las Vegas, Nevada.
It is announced that Berlyn will be making his debut on Nitro in two weeks. (Despite being identified as Alex Wright when he appeared the last time he was on Nitro, he is hyped up as a brand new athlete.)
The nWo (Horace Hogan, Vincent, Scott Norton, Brian Adams) show up. Horace says he heard Stevie Ray's comments about them being "four fruit booties that couldn't get the job done." He doesn't care if Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) are tag team champs or not, and says that they could not beat any member of the nWo, even in singles competition. Horace tells Vincent that there is nothing worse than a brother gone bad, and hands the microphone to Scott Norton, knowing he has something to say about it. Norton gives Stevie Ray some advice: if he thinks he can come and go from the nWo, he is mistaken, and if Stevie Ray comes crawling back, he might give him his spot back. He then reconsiders, saying Stevie Ray is on the nWo's most wanted list. Brian Adams - now clean shaven - takes the mic and says that Norton came up with a heck of an idea. He says he and Vincent will take on Harlem Heat tonight, and Norton tries to get Adams' attention. When Adams pushes him away, Vincent, Horace and Norton attack Brian Adams and rip off his nWo shirt. Horace then says that Adams is now "former nWo" before he, Vincent and Norton leave him laying. Referees check on Brian Adams afterward.

Kidman says that he, Rey Mysterio Jr., Konnan and Eddie Guerrero are creating their own circle of friends among each other that hang out both on-camera and off and have mutual respect for each other having all faced other in the ring in the past. Kidman goes on to say "We're just a bunch of filthy animals, y'know?", which ends up becomingthe basis for their group name, The Filthy Animals. Okerlund asks Kidman if he has seen the Nitro Girls pay-per-view, but Kidman says the real question is how many times he has seen it. He says the Nitro Girls are all good looking, but he says Kimberly is drop-dead gorgeous and his personal favorite. Despite saying that this is being said with no disrespect to Diamond Dallas Page, an irritated and angry DDP shows up. Kidman says he has nothing but respect for him and his wife, and says Kimberly is a beautiful woman. DDP says Kidman cannot even spell "respect," and midway through spelling the word out for him, he slaps Kidman in the face before plowing him into the mat before asking for areferee, saying Kidman "thinks he's got the shot, but not on my dime." Referee Billy Silverman shows up, and the bell is called for an impromptu match.
Kidman beats Diamond Dallas Page in an impromptu match after reversing a delayed Diamond Cutter into a roll-up. After the match, DDP attacks Kidman from behind, then hits referee Billy Silverman with a Diamond Cutter. Kidman jumps on top of DDP, but he also eats a Diamond Cutter before he slams him in the corner, puts him in the tree of woe position. He then removes Billy Silverman's belt and rips off Kidman's tanktop before whipping Kidman in the ribs with it. Kimberly shows up and tries to get DDP to calm down, telling him Kidman is his friend. She gets DDP to calm down and escorts him to the back.
Before the next match, Disco Inferno says he is a superstar, a sex symbol, a bonafied booty-shaking badass and an icon. He says Kidman's clique has been calling him all week getting him to join, but he says that for future reference, "Don't call me, I'll call you." He then says there are a lot of guys in the back who want to be the next superstar in WCW, and says they might as well stay on the bench as he is the present and future superstar of WCW, and he is willing to prove it. "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit shows up and says Disco is right, but tells Disco that he won't be climbing up his ladder, as he lays down for no one. He says Disco's problem is that he stepped in the way of The Revolution (Benoit, Perry Saturn, Dean Malenko, Shane Douglas), and tells him to get in the ring and see what that experience is all about. Disco tells Benoit there is a fine line between courage and stupidity, and he has crossed it. He plans to give Benoit "a good old-fashioned New York tushy kickin'."
"The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit retains the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship against Disco Inferno.

Rick Steiner says he does one thing that he does well. He says he is the D.F.G. and he rules the dog point. If anyone wants some, they can come get some. If anyone doesn't like him, they can bite him.
Rick Steiner retains the WCW World Television Championship against Brian Knobbs after Rick Steiner whips Brian Knobbs into Jimmy Hart, who is holding Rick Steiner's dog collar in his hand. Knobbs runs face first into the collar, and Rick Steiner hits the top rope Steiner Bulldog to retain.
Perry Saturn beats Bam Bigelow. During the match, Bam Bam Bigelow shoves Perry Saturn off the top rope and into referee Johnny Boone. Kanyon runs in and gets involved, then goes up top only to be pushed off by Shane Douglas, pushing Perry Saturn on top of Bigelow as Bigelow readies Greetings From Asbury Park to give Saturn the win. Kanyon and Bigelow continue to attack Saturn after the match, but "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko show up and run Kanyon and Bigelow out of the ring.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for August 9, 1999
It is announced that WCW President Sting has handed control of World Championship Wrestling back to the company, and has resigned as President. It is also announced that WCW Executive Committee Chairman J.J. Dillon has named "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes head of the WCW Championship Committee, allowing Dusty to review and sign on potential championship matches.
It is accidentally spoiled that Kevin Nash vs. Hollywood Hogan for the WCW Executive Committee Chairman is a Loser Leaves Town Match before the next match.
Vampiro and Insane Clown Posse (Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope) - now known as The Dead Pool - beat Norman Smiley, Prince Iaukea and Lash LeRoux. Raven is also seen with a darker look, wearing black eyeshadow around his eyes and having a black ankh painted on his left eye.
WCW is on four collector's covers - one each for Kimberly, Kevin Nash, Sting and "Macho Man" Randy Savage - on this weeks' issue, available on newsstands now.

Backstage, The Revolution ("The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit, Perry Saturn, Dean Malenko, Shane Douglas) is seen talking to WCW Championship Committee head "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes, saying that since "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair ran the company to the ground as WCW President and want to know if things will change and when. Dusty says there will be a big change, and once they get their opportunity, they will have to prove themselves. He says that he has taken great pains with him, and says the young men of the industry will overcome everything. If they fall short, it will all be on them. All of a sudden, David Flair and Torrie Wilson show up, and David tells Dusty "Are you telling your Ric Flair stories again, old-timer?" Benoit tells David to put the United States title up, and David points his finger at him and says "You got 30 days, pal." Benoit immediately grabs David's arm and puts him in a Crippler Crossface, and two members of WCW security have to pull Benoit off David Flair. Dusty tells David Flair that if he is going to call him an old-timer, then he will show him how an old timer will start it and commands David Flair to put the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship against Chris Benoit tonight.

Mona beats Little Jeanie with a combination Indian Death Lock-Romero Special type pin with Little Jeanie's shoulders on the mat. After the match, Brandi Alexander tries to get in the ring, but Mona knocks her right back out.
Hollywood Hogan's son Nicholas runs into Hogan's dressing room, telling him it is time for his interview. He also asks why he did not wear what he packed. When Hogan asks what he is talking about, his son opens his bag and pulls out some clothes that are red and yellow. Hogan looks at them for a hesitant moment, then tells his son to hold on to them before he heads to the ring. His son is disappointed. Before Hogan can walk down the aisle, he is attacked by Kevin Nash, Sid Vicious and Rick Steiner, who then drag him out to the arena and into the ring. RIck uses the WCW World Heavyweight Championship as a weapon after Sid and Nash toss Hogan head-first into it. Goldberg and Sting run nto the ring before Nash, Rick Steiner and Sid can do any more damage. Hogan then gets back up and tears his hsi. He says he does not who they think they are, but the business is his life and he has been in the business all his life. He has gotten sick and tired of them, and he has a couple of really good friends in the ring with him. They were talking just the other day, and opportunity has presented itself. Not only will he put the World title up against Kevin Nash, but he will also put his career on the line, and if Nash beats him, he will leave the business forever. He says Goldberg and Sting were talking last week and prayed for this chance, and since they're all out here, he proposes a six-man tag team match tonight. Nash tells Hogan he's got it. He agrees to put his career on the line as he has been waiting to put a stake through Hogan's heart for three years, and Saturday, he's going to do it. Hogan tells Nash that when his team wins tonight, he will keep the momentum going and it's going to be just the two of them alone. Nash then tells Hogan that he forgot one part of the equation, telling them that they will not make it to Road Wild if they wrestle them in the first place, and tells all three men that they are finished. Nash, Sid and Rick then teases walking down the aisle, then head to the back.
Nick Patrick gets in the ring and tells Charles Robinson to get out of the ring, and Patrick becomes the referee for the match. When the bell rings, David Flair gets out of the ring and says "I'm not doing this!" He is then thrown back into the ring by the rest of The Revolution (Perry Saturn, Dean Malenko, Shane Douglas), who keep him from running away from the match again. (Even Nick Patrick tells David Flair to get back in the ring.)
"The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit beats David Flair to become the WCW United States Heavyweight Champion! During the match, Kannon and Bam Bam Bigelow try to get in the ring, but the rest of The Revolution (Perry Saturn, Dean Malenko, Shane Douglas) holds them off. Diamond Dallas Page breaks through and slams Benoit into the mat, but the rest of The Revolution chases DDP out of the ring. Afterwards, Benoit tells DDP that if he wants the belt, he can come and get it at Road Wild in a no-disqualification match. DDP accepts the challenge.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews "Macho Man" Randy Savage, who, despite being announced as being accompanied by Gorgeous George, does not appear with Gorgeous George. Macho Man carries a sign saying "Macho For Pres. George For Intern" to the ring. He says that George is not here tonight, as everybody wants to feast their eyes on her. At Road Wild, he will be getting rid of "the scumbag known as Dennis Rodman," and then Gorgeous George will be back. Savage then talks about his hit list: Kevin Nash, Sid Vicious, Hollywood Hogan and Denis Rodman. He says there are no strings on this puppet, and he is ready to kick ass. He says Rodman is eccentric, but he is the baddest dude on the planet and that Rodman wants none of him. He says Rodman put his hands on Gorgeous George, and for that, he will die. As for the surprise, the surprise is that Rodman's reputation, compared to his, is absolutely crap, and he will not be denied until Road Wild, when he takes Rodman, lays him out in the middle of the ring and drops the big elbow on him.
Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio Jr. beat David Taylor and "Gentleman" Chris Adams. After the match, Eddie and Rey are attacked by The Deadpool (Vampiro, Raven, Shaggy 2 Dope, Violent J), and Kidman runs into the ring to even the odds. Rey, Eddie and Kidman end up cleaning house as The Deadpool retreats.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews The West Texas Rednecks (Curt Hennig, Barry Windham, Kendall Windham, Bobby Duncum Jr.). Curt announces that they have a new single called "Good Ol' Boys" out and thanks The Dixie Chicks and Shania Twain. He assures that The West Texas Rednecks will be in concert tonight despite being replaced by Chad Brock, and that he will kick "Chad Flop" off the stage. (This is omitted from the WWE Network.)
Kidman beats Disco Inferno by disqualification after Vampiro attacks Kidman as he goes for the Shooting Star Press. The rest of The Deadpool (Raven, Violent J, Shaggy 2 Dope) get in the ring and taunt Kidman, then Disco Inferno gets back up and fights The Deadpool only to be outmanned. The Deadpool clear the ring as soon as they see Rey Mysterio Jr. and Eddie Guerrero run in. Afterwards, Disco extends to Rey, and Rey jumps in an hugs him, but Disco steps out of the ring as soon as he does.
Before the next match, Buff Bagwell tells Ernest "The Cat" Miller that the time for playing games is over, and at Road Wild, he will prove he is buff and he is the stuff.
Buff Bagwell beats Scott Norton by disqualification. During the match, Sonny Onoo and Ernest "The Cat" Miller show up, and The Cat puts on his red dancing shoes before he and Onoo make their way to the ring. When Buff Bagwell tries to make a pinfall, The Cat drags referee Johnny Boone out of the ring and Onoo whacks Bagwell in the head with his briefcase from the apron. After Norton clotheslines The Cat, referee Johnny Boone calls for the bell as Buff Bagwell hits Sonny Onoo with a Buff Blockbuster.Norton slowly backs The Cat towards the dressing room after the match.

DDP and Bam Bam Bigelow are then ejected from ringside by referee Scott Dickinson.
Kanyon beats Booker T. During the match, Booker T inadvertently knocks down referee Scott Dickinson. Diamond Dallas Page and Bam Bam Bigelow take the opportunity to attack Stevie Ray and handing one of the tag team titles to Kanyon to hit Booker T in the back of the head. Kanyon then hits Booker T with the Flatliner for the win.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Dennis Rodman. Rodman says that he loves being in Boise, Idaho, and says "Macho Man" Randy Savage has Gorgeous George under lock and key because George wants to be with him. He says George came after him - much like all the ladies do - and says that after he gets done with Savage, he will take Gorgeous George up and down Sturgis, South Dakota and let her know she's his bitch. (At this point, nothing is censored, unlike last week.) Okerlund then takes the microphone away from Rodman at Tony Schiavone's request. Before the next commercial break, Savage runs into the ring, and Okerlund leaves, as does Rodman. Savage then tries to chase Rodman to the back, but WCW security and local law enforcement hold Savage back.
Before the next match, Hollywood Hogan comes out to his original pre-nWo music, and comes back in the yellow and red. Hollywood Hogan is no more, and Hulk Hogan has returned.
Hulk Hogan, Sting and Goldberg beat Kevin Nash, Sid Vicious and Rick Steiner. During the match, Rick Steiner cuts a top turnbuckle loose, and when Kevin Nash is about to throw Sting into the exposed turnbuckle, referee Johnny Boone gets in the way. This results in Sting inadvertently kicking Nash into Boone, knocking Booner out. This allows Rick Steiner to get in the ring and hit Sting in the back with a steel chair, then Goldberg gets in and Spears Rick Steiner. Sid hits Goldberg in the back with the chair, but Hogan takes the chair and whacks it into the backs of both Sid and Nash, the latter of whom is about to hit Sting with a Jackknife Power Bomb. Referee Scott Dickinson gets in the ring as Sting has Nash in the Scorpion Death Lock. Dickinson notices that Nash is out cold, and Sting, Hogan and Goldberg win the match and end the show.
It is accidentally spoiled that Kevin Nash vs. Hollywood Hogan for the WCW Executive Committee Chairman is a Loser Leaves Town Match before the next match.
Vampiro and Insane Clown Posse (Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope) - now known as The Dead Pool - beat Norman Smiley, Prince Iaukea and Lash LeRoux. Raven is also seen with a darker look, wearing black eyeshadow around his eyes and having a black ankh painted on his left eye.

Dusty says there will be a big change, and once they get their opportunity, they will have to prove themselves. He says that he has taken great pains with him, and says the young men of the industry will overcome everything. If they fall short, it will all be on them. All of a sudden, David Flair and Torrie Wilson show up, and David tells Dusty "Are you telling your Ric Flair stories again, old-timer?" Benoit tells David to put the United States title up, and David points his finger at him and says "You got 30 days, pal." Benoit immediately grabs David's arm and puts him in a Crippler Crossface, and two members of WCW security have to pull Benoit off David Flair. Dusty tells David Flair that if he is going to call him an old-timer, then he will show him how an old timer will start it and commands David Flair to put the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship against Chris Benoit tonight.
The West Texas Rednecks (Curt Hennig and Barry Windham) beat Public Enemy (Johnny Grunge and "Flyboy" Rocco Rock) after Jonny Grunge puts Barry Windham through a table. (At this point, The West Texas Rednecks come out to "Good Ol' Boys" instead of "Rap Is Crap." Strangely, the song is a slowed-down version of Jeff Jarrett's WCW theme from 1995 and 1996 with lyrics added.)
Mona beats Little Jeanie with a combination Indian Death Lock-Romero Special type pin with Little Jeanie's shoulders on the mat. After the match, Brandi Alexander tries to get in the ring, but Mona knocks her right back out.
Hollywood Hogan's son Nicholas runs into Hogan's dressing room, telling him it is time for his interview. He also asks why he did not wear what he packed. When Hogan asks what he is talking about, his son opens his bag and pulls out some clothes that are red and yellow. Hogan looks at them for a hesitant moment, then tells his son to hold on to them before he heads to the ring. His son is disappointed. Before Hogan can walk down the aisle, he is attacked by Kevin Nash, Sid Vicious and Rick Steiner, who then drag him out to the arena and into the ring. RIck uses the WCW World Heavyweight Championship as a weapon after Sid and Nash toss Hogan head-first into it. Goldberg and Sting run nto the ring before Nash, Rick Steiner and Sid can do any more damage. Hogan then gets back up and tears his hsi. He says he does not who they think they are, but the business is his life and he has been in the business all his life. He has gotten sick and tired of them, and he has a couple of really good friends in the ring with him. They were talking just the other day, and opportunity has presented itself. Not only will he put the World title up against Kevin Nash, but he will also put his career on the line, and if Nash beats him, he will leave the business forever. Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for August 2, 1999
Before the next match, Kanyon says Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) is back together, but nobody cares, and he and Bam Bam Bigelow plan to prove that by beating "those fruit booties" in the center of the ring. Diamond Dallas Page then jokes alongside Kanyon and Bigelow that "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit's mother is so ugly that the judges at an ugly contest said "Sorry, no professionals" when she tried to enter. He then explains that the reason he helped David Flair last week is because David defends the United States title way better than Benoit ever could have, and tells Benoit "you ain't got it" before saying he will never have it and will have to live with it, while David Flair has "it" way more over than him.
Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) beats The Jersey Triad (Kanyon and Bam Bam Bigelow) after "The Canadian Crippler' Chris Benoit stops an interference attempt from Diamond Dallas Page. Benoit then grabs the microphone and says that once upon a time, he valued DDP's opinion, but then he showed everyone what he was all about, and says it is indeed his time and his turn and that he's got a lot more than DDP has. He also tells DDP not to bring his mother into this.
Lenny Lane and Lodi have a laugh about Ernest "The Cat" Miller's dancing shoes being switched with bunny slippers last week, and Lenny even mentions that he had a pair just like those when he was a kid. Lodi says those were his, but Lenny tells him he had the footy pajamas. Lodi says he still liked those slippers, though, and both men agree that they need to find out where The Cat shops.

WCW President Sting shows up. He says there was tag team action last week, and it didn't turn out the way that he would have wanted it to. He has a pair of wrestlers in the back that he wants to see tonight: Sid Vicious and Rick Steiner. Last week, Hollywood Hogan stepped up and wanted him to be his partner, and now he is the one doing the asking. The crowd unanimously wants Goldberg to be Sting's partner, and Sting asks Goldberg to be his tag team partner tonight. He says he will be back at the top of the hour to get his answer and see if it is showtime.
It is announced that Buff Bagwell will take on Ernest "The Cat" Miller at Road Wild on Saturday, August 14th.
Before the next match, Ernest "The Cat" Miller can pretend paint his face Black and pretend to dance around like him, but he says it only would have been funny in the 1920s. He also says that he can whup anybody without his red dancing shoes, as he is a three-time world karate champion and did it without the shoes. He says that it may be funny to the fans, but it was not funny to him, and now he is about to show Buff what is going to happen to him in two weeks. He then addresses that there were two "girly guys" in the back talking about the slippers, and if they want to know where they came from, they can get in the ring. Lenny and Lodi show up, and tells them to get in the ring so he can tell them where he got the bunny slippers. They get in the ring only to get their heads smashed into each other.
Ernest "The Cat" Miller beats Lenny Lane after Lodi runs into a Feliner as he chases Sonny Onoo around the ring.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Hollywood Hogan. Hogan says that at Road Wild, he has a date with the devil. He ran with Kevin Nash, but he did not know how low he would stoop until last week when he left him laying in a puddle of his own blood. He does not blame TNT or Time Warner for pulling back on the cameras, because it was a pretty grotesque sight. He says that his frenzy has been fed over the last week, and when he made it to Sturgis, South Dakota, he went to a health food store, and he couldn't figure out if the men were fainting over the look on his face or if the women were fainting because he was freshly shaven. The way things go, Kevin Nash has a date with him at Road Wild. He says it is no secret that he and Nash do not like each other, and that they have been playing games in the dressing room with Nash trying to take his spot on the WCW roster. He says Nash is no different from anyone else who has tried, and he will kick his butt at Road Wild. Since he has nothing to do tonight but wait for him to enter the building, he challenges him to a match for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship and promises to kick his butt if Nash has the guts to get in the ring.
Sting shows up again, and asks Goldberg if it is showtime. Goldberg is seen approaching the ring, but Rick Steiner gets his attention, asking if he wants some. He goes after Rick only to be attacked from behind by Sid Vicious with a shovel and locked in a nearby storage closet. Sting sees this on the video screen and runs to the back only for Rick and Sid to ambush him. Rick Steiner and Sid Vicious then drag Sting back to the ring, but Sting comes to and fends off both men until he gets choke slammed by Sid. Goldberg then breaks out of the storage room and runs to the ring, clearing it out. Goldberg then picks up the microphone and says "Why wait?"
Disco Inferno beats Evan Karagias.
We see Torrie Wilson and David Flair sitting on a couch. Torrie tells Davis he must be the hardest working champion of all time. David says he is the greatest of all time. Torrie then asks why David is fending the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship so much. David says hhe doesn't know, but he has been talking to his father, "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, who has told him that he has to defend it every 30 days, and with Charles Robinson as his referee, he can defend the title whenever he wants. He says he has beaten everybdoy, and that it is now time for his body to be given some rest.
We see a narrated video package about the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship.

We see Sid Vicious backstage, saying that in the year 2000, Sting and Goldberg will be forgotten and he will be the true "millennium man."
It is announced that The Jersey Triad (Bam Bam Bigelow and Kanyon) will defend the WCW World Tag Team Championships against Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) at Road Wild.
The Revolution (Dean Malenko and Shane Douglas) beats The First Family (Hugh Morrus and Jerry Flynn) after Malenko sends Hugh Morrus into Jimmy Hart, who is standing on the apron trying to use the Junkyard Hardcore Invitational trophy as a weapon. After the match, Dean Malenko takes the trophy, and Malenko tells Fit Finley that the trophy is coming home where it belongs.
It is announced that Goldberg will take on Rick Steiner at Road Wild.

Rick Steiner shows up as Scott Hudson and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan talk about him on commentary. Heenan gets out of there as Rick drags Scott Hudson out of the commentary table and slams him to the mat. WCW security have to step in and escort him to the back as medical staff tend to Scott Hudson.
Eric Bischoff replaces Scott Hudson on commentary as Scott Hudson is wheeled out of the arena on a stretcher. Heenan returns to commentary shortly afterwards.
Before the next match, Curt Hennig shows up and says that for the last ten years, there has been all kind of wrestlers trying to act, walk, and wrestle like him, and calls them "Curt Hennig wanna-bes." Now that "Rap is Crap" has come to the top, someone else has been trying to jump on the country and western scene, and that man is Chad Brock, who will be performing next week on Nitro. He tells Brock that if he is going to use TNT and Nitro, he is wrong, because he is short, fat, bald and ugly and nobody likes that kind of person. He also has heard that Warner Bros. Records has signed Brock to a record deal, and wants to know which of the Warner brothers actually signed him: dumb or dumber. Hennig then notices Perry Saturn and makes fun of the dress that he has worn in the past as well as all the tattoos that he has, and says he's from Uranus. Saturn tries to get Hennig, and when Bobby Duncum Jr. attacks Saturn from behind, Saturn hits him with a Death Valley Driver almost immediately before telling Hennig that this is his time and daring him to get in the ring before calling him a "stupid redneck." Hennig eventually gets in the ring with him, and this starts the next match.
Perry Saturn beats Curt Hennig by disqualification after the rest of The West Texas Rednecks (Barry Windham, Kendall Windham, Bobby Duncum Jr.) get involved and hogtie him with Duncum's lasso before Hennig punches out referee Nick Patrick. Dean Malenko and Shane Douglas run into the ring, clearing the Rednecks out of the ring before checking on Saturn and freeing him from the lasso.
"The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit beats Diamond Dallas Page. During the match, David Flair gets on the apron only to get knocked badck off by Benoit, and when DDP goes for a roll-up, Benoit reverses it into one of his own for the win. After the match, Kanyon and Bam Bigelow show up, and the numbers game proves too much when DDP hits Benoit with two Diamond Cutters. David Flair then gets in the ring to mock Benoit as DDP hits Benoit with a Diamond Cutter from the top rope followed by a leather belt to the back.
Backstage, Sid Vicious says that his success and his victories will be talked about the most, and that they will pile up higher than anyone can count. He says the record will be his, because in 2000, he will be "the millennium man."
"Macho Man" Randy Savage vs. Dennis Rodman is official for Road Wild.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews "Macho Man" Randy Savage. Gorgeous George does not accompany Savage to the ring. Okerlund asks Savage not to take his questions personally, as he is only the messenger. Savage says that he got off the phone with his campaign manager, Brett Carter, and says his campaign for President of the United States is on hold at this time because he has a hit list to prove to the United States of America that he can take out the trash. He says George is under lock and key, and tells Hollywood Hogan and Kevin Nash that they are dad and Dennis Rodman "you're really dead." He says he has a date with destiny, and so does Rodman, when they meet head-to-head at Road Wild, and calls Rodman out so they can get it on right now. All of a sudden, Mona shows up and tells Savage to reconsider about firing her and Madusa. Savage says it would show a kind side of him, and but gets a tad hostile when he questions her loyalty to him, grabbing her by the chin. He tells Mona to get on her knees and beg for her job back, then says he has reconsidered and that she is still fired. He then tells Rodman to "get his ass out here right now." Rodman shows up with 4x4 and Swole of The No Limit Soldiers, and asks "Macho Asshole" if he is mad because he had sex with his girl. Savage tells Rodman to "get [his] punk ass in here right now, so we can rock this place." Rodman heads down the ramp with 4x4 and Swole, and tells Savage "once you go Black, you never go back." Savage tells Rodman that just because he's been somebody else's bitch all of his life does not mean he can come after his. Rodman leaves, then Mona hits Savage with a low blow before Rodman gets in the ring and clotheslines Savage from behind before hitting a few elbow drops. Bischoff asks for (and gets) both microphones to be cut off, and apologizes for the choice of words used on-air, which are all silenced out. Rodman asks for a microphone but does not get one.

Vampiro beats Eddie Guerrero after Raven pushes Eddie off the op rope following Eddie taking out The Insane Clown Posse (Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope). After the match, Vampiro, Raven and ICP all put the boots to Eddie until Rey Mysterio Jr. and Konnan run into the ring, with Konnan carrying a steel chair.

Johnny Boone sees the chair shot to Sid, and calls for the bell. Suddenly, Kevin Nash shows up and puts Hogan through the table with a Jackknife Power Bomb to end the show.
Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) beats The Jersey Triad (Kanyon and Bam Bam Bigelow) after "The Canadian Crippler' Chris Benoit stops an interference attempt from Diamond Dallas Page. Benoit then grabs the microphone and says that once upon a time, he valued DDP's opinion, but then he showed everyone what he was all about, and says it is indeed his time and his turn and that he's got a lot more than DDP has. He also tells DDP not to bring his mother into this.
Lenny Lane and Lodi have a laugh about Ernest "The Cat" Miller's dancing shoes being switched with bunny slippers last week, and Lenny even mentions that he had a pair just like those when he was a kid. Lodi says those were his, but Lenny tells him he had the footy pajamas. Lodi says he still liked those slippers, though, and both men agree that they need to find out where The Cat shops.

WCW President Sting shows up. He says there was tag team action last week, and it didn't turn out the way that he would have wanted it to. He has a pair of wrestlers in the back that he wants to see tonight: Sid Vicious and Rick Steiner. Last week, Hollywood Hogan stepped up and wanted him to be his partner, and now he is the one doing the asking. The crowd unanimously wants Goldberg to be Sting's partner, and Sting asks Goldberg to be his tag team partner tonight. He says he will be back at the top of the hour to get his answer and see if it is showtime.
It is announced that Buff Bagwell will take on Ernest "The Cat" Miller at Road Wild on Saturday, August 14th.
Before the next match, Ernest "The Cat" Miller can pretend paint his face Black and pretend to dance around like him, but he says it only would have been funny in the 1920s. He also says that he can whup anybody without his red dancing shoes, as he is a three-time world karate champion and did it without the shoes. He says that it may be funny to the fans, but it was not funny to him, and now he is about to show Buff what is going to happen to him in two weeks. He then addresses that there were two "girly guys" in the back talking about the slippers, and if they want to know where they came from, they can get in the ring. Lenny and Lodi show up, and tells them to get in the ring so he can tell them where he got the bunny slippers. They get in the ring only to get their heads smashed into each other.
Ernest "The Cat" Miller beats Lenny Lane after Lodi runs into a Feliner as he chases Sonny Onoo around the ring.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Hollywood Hogan. Hogan says that at Road Wild, he has a date with the devil. He ran with Kevin Nash, but he did not know how low he would stoop until last week when he left him laying in a puddle of his own blood. He does not blame TNT or Time Warner for pulling back on the cameras, because it was a pretty grotesque sight. He says that his frenzy has been fed over the last week, and when he made it to Sturgis, South Dakota, he went to a health food store, and he couldn't figure out if the men were fainting over the look on his face or if the women were fainting because he was freshly shaven. The way things go, Kevin Nash has a date with him at Road Wild. He says it is no secret that he and Nash do not like each other, and that they have been playing games in the dressing room with Nash trying to take his spot on the WCW roster. He says Nash is no different from anyone else who has tried, and he will kick his butt at Road Wild. Since he has nothing to do tonight but wait for him to enter the building, he challenges him to a match for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship and promises to kick his butt if Nash has the guts to get in the ring.
Sting shows up again, and asks Goldberg if it is showtime. Goldberg is seen approaching the ring, but Rick Steiner gets his attention, asking if he wants some. He goes after Rick only to be attacked from behind by Sid Vicious with a shovel and locked in a nearby storage closet. Sting sees this on the video screen and runs to the back only for Rick and Sid to ambush him. Rick Steiner and Sid Vicious then drag Sting back to the ring, but Sting comes to and fends off both men until he gets choke slammed by Sid. Goldberg then breaks out of the storage room and runs to the ring, clearing it out. Goldberg then picks up the microphone and says "Why wait?"
Disco Inferno beats Evan Karagias.
We see Torrie Wilson and David Flair sitting on a couch. Torrie tells Davis he must be the hardest working champion of all time. David says he is the greatest of all time. Torrie then asks why David is fending the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship so much. David says hhe doesn't know, but he has been talking to his father, "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, who has told him that he has to defend it every 30 days, and with Charles Robinson as his referee, he can defend the title whenever he wants. He says he has beaten everybdoy, and that it is now time for his body to be given some rest.
We see a narrated video package about the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship.
We see another performance by The Nitro Girls.
We see Sid Vicious backstage, saying that in the year 2000, Sting and Goldberg will be forgotten and he will be the true "millennium man."
It is announced that The Jersey Triad (Bam Bam Bigelow and Kanyon) will defend the WCW World Tag Team Championships against Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) at Road Wild.
The Revolution (Dean Malenko and Shane Douglas) beats The First Family (Hugh Morrus and Jerry Flynn) after Malenko sends Hugh Morrus into Jimmy Hart, who is standing on the apron trying to use the Junkyard Hardcore Invitational trophy as a weapon. After the match, Dean Malenko takes the trophy, and Malenko tells Fit Finley that the trophy is coming home where it belongs.
It is announced that Goldberg will take on Rick Steiner at Road Wild.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for July 5, 1999
The show starts with a performance by The Nitro Girls.
Chavo Guerrero Jr. trips and falls on his rear end on the ramp before the next match. He is unhurt.
Chavo Guerrero Jr. vs. Juventud Guerrera ends after "Macho Man" Randy Savage and Sid Vicious show up and decimate both men. Sid then gets on the microphone and says he knows Kevin Nash can hear him and that he knows the world can see what they just did. He wants everyone to take a closer look and remember, as what they he and Savage did were examples to follow. Sid tells Nash his dad told him one time that suffering builds character, and he and Savage agree that Nash has a lot of suffering to do, as Nash has messed with Savage's mind. He says that one must not be responsible for another's sanity, for when that happens, things go wrong. He says Nash is on a bed of coals and that nobody is there to piss on him, because nobody cares. Suddenly, Kevin Nash shows up on the video screen with Torrie Wilson. Savage wants to know where Gorgeous George is. Since Sid is wearing the World title, he decides that they might as well have a match for it. Savage tells Nash that he is a dead man and that Sid can do whatever he wants. Nash gets tired of Savage's cursing as Savage tells Nash that he is the end for him. Nash tells Savage that Gorgeous George is getting dressed right now. Nash and Torrie laugh, then Nash brings out Torrie, who is wearing a Kevin Nash shirt with the mid-riff cut off. Savage tells Nash to come out to the ring, but Nash proceeds to mock Savage from backstage. Sid tells Nash the deal is done. Nash will meet him in the ring, he will finish him off, they take Gorgeous George back and that will be that.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews WCW President "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, who is accompanied by his son David Flair. Ric talks about how he spent the Fourth of July in Atlanta, Georgia and has tried to find his mojo ever since. Tonight, as a result of him being President of World Championship Wrestling, he will make something happen. He announces that Scott Steiner has been traveling the world with the women and has no time to defend the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship right now. (In reality, Scott Steiner is out with a back injury.) Because of this, and because he is President, he is hereby placing the United States title around the waist of the man who rightfully deserves it: his son, David Flair. Flair asks Charles Robinson to bring the title as he announces that due to David Flair's recent victory against Kevin Nash, he is #1 contender for the United States title. With Scott Steiner gone, however, he has no champion to fight; therefore he is stripping Scott Steiner of the title and awarding it to David Flair. He says he is handing him the United States title because he can and because it is one leg of the Triple Crown. He says that David will soon become one-half of the WCW World Tag Team Champions and soon the youngest WCW World Heavyweight Champion ever. Charles Robinson heads to the ring with the United States Heavyweight Championship and a bevy of women, one of whom is Asya. Flair says that when he was World champion in Atlanta, he sometimes traveled with two or three women at one time. He hands David the United States title, lets all the women have their way with David, then takes off his jacket and says that he's going downtown with all of them. Suddenly, Buff Bagwell shows up, and red, white and blue balloons drop down from the top of the Georgia Dome. Ric Flair tells Buff Bagwell he can't have him, he can't have David and he can't have the girls. Buff says that as he was backstage, he couldn't help but see that "the triple-D's" were everywhere, with "the triple-D's" standing for "dumb, dumber and dumbest." He also couldn't help but notice the difference of the sound when Flair entered "Buff country." He tells Ric Flair this isn't Charlotte, North Carolina or The Four Horsemen anymore. Flair tells him he's right, and says he's now The President of WCW, and that he works for him. Buff says he likes to party, and to keep this party going, if his son David has any guts - because he has no body - and Ric is the President of WCW, then he, not David, should be the United States champion. All he needs is a shot tonight and everyone will find out he's buff and David's not the stuff. Flair says Buff will find out David is John Elway and everyone with him is the Denver Broncos. Ric tells David to stay by him and not get tired, and tells him he's got the match. Nevertheless, Buff asks the crowd if they want to see him whip David's butt.
We see a short video package for Kevin Nash.
Before the next match, Rick Steiner says that when you run with the bgi dog, the view never changes. When you run with him and Scott Steiner, you can take whatever you want. They are running around like a pack of wild dogs, and if anyone wants some, they can get some. If anyone doesn't like him, they can bite him.
Rick Steiner retains the WCW World Television Championship against El Vamiro by submission.
Lodi and Lenny Lane walk out of the locker room, with Lenny Lane carrying an pink-and-purple pair of shorts - Lenny's favorite colors - matching what Lodi has on right now. Lenny says he doesn't have to try them on, as Lodi knows all his measurements. Lodi responds by saying "I know every inch of you." Lodi says he knows Lenny is still nervous, but say WCW won't mind when they find out, saying they're open-minded. Lenny says that if Lodi wants him to trust him, then trust him he will. The camera then focuses on the double doors they just came out of, which have the word "closet" on them.
We see a narrated video package of Bret "The Hit Man" Hart, who has not been on WCW television since the death of his brother Owen Hart, showing just how much Bret means to World Championship Wrestling.
Bret "The Hit Man" Hart appears for the first time on WCW programming since the death of his brother Owen Hart. Bret says he has all the time he wants to speak, and he will try not to rush himself. On behalf of his family and everyone back in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, he thanks the fans who has sent their love, support and condolences, as it has meant a lot to himself and to his family, and it was very much appreciated. World Championship Wrestling has been kind to him in the last few weeks, and allowed him all the time in the world to collect himself. He says a few words about his brother Owen, saying he was not your average wrestler and that he was a wonderful human being. He knows many people watched him on TV, but never got close to him sometimes. Some fans did, and some of the wrestlers go to know him, too. He says there is not a bad thing that could be said about Owen anywhere. He said that Owen was his closest brother, as they had never had an argument or shouted at each other once, and they were the best of friends. They were close from the time that Owen was a baby, and he takes a lot of pride in knowing how well he had turned out. Bret says Eric Bischoff talked to him, and asked him to come back tonight to explain how he felt about things, and felt he would be ready to talk about things when he got here. The reality, however, is that he is having a hard time deciding what to do with his life and his career. He has lived for wrestling, and his family has lived and died for wrestling. He is at a crossroads where he looks at wrestling and wonders what there is left for him to do, and that maybe it is time to move on and accomplish something in another field. He thinks of Wayne Gretzky and John Elway and all the other athletes retiring in 1999, and when he thinks of those people, they all got to hang it up and be happy with what they accomplished, but when he looks at himself, it sucks. He tells himself that on one hand, it is not fair to end his career on a tragedy or a bad note, but at the same time, nobody wants to prove more in wrestling than he does. He admits he does not know what to do next, and even though he always give his best and is happy despite how everything has turned out, but he will take some time and think about everything and put things in perspective. If he never gets the chance to say it again, he wants to thank all the fans everywhere that he ever had and still have, as he would not be anything without them, having had fans since the very start. In case he never gets another chance to talk to the fans, he thanks the fans all around the world that he has ever met, as well as wrestlers all over the world that he has ever worked with, and hopes that he wasn't too stiff. He then thanks the crowd for their time and leaves.
Backstage, Eddie Guerrero asks WCW Head of Security Doug Dellinger for help, saying that someone has stolen his wallet, and he knows that one of the masked wrestlers did it. He demands Dellinger round them up andline them up so he can identify who it is.
Jerry Flynn beats Ernest "The Cat" Miller by disqualification in a kickboxing match with 14 seconds left in the second round after The Cat hits Flynn - who is on his knee - with a punch to the back of the head. Flynn hits The Cat with a double leg takedown after the match.
WCW bobbleheads are now available at toy stores everywhere!
Tomorrow night on QVC at 9 PM Eastern/8 PM Central, WCW products, both new and autographed, will be sold. "Macho Man" Randy Savage will also appear on QVC.
Van Hammer beats Lodi after stopping an interference attempt from Lenny Lane cold.
WCW Head of Security talks to Villano V, La Parka, Ciclope and Psychosis, telling them that Eddie Guerrero ahs lost his wallet and has accused the masked wrestlers of stealing it, and wants them to line up so that he can identify who did it. Blitzkrieg and The Cheetah Kid is brought out.
Rapper Black Rob is seen in the crowd.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews WCW Vice President "Rowdy" Roddy Piper. Piper shows up after over a minute. He says that six reality check points go to Curt Hennig and Bobby Duncum for saving the youth of America, because rap is crap. He also calls out Sting, and brings him out to the ring. Instead of the real Sting, a man in a Sting mask shows up. So big is the jacket that the fake Sting is wearing that his hands are still in the sleeves and that he is shorter than Piper. Piper smells a rat, and wants to know if he is part of "Team Madness." "Sting" shakes his head no. When he asks if this Sting has never been in the back Hummer, "Sting" shakes his head no. When asked if there is no coalition between him and Savage to take the World title, "Sting" shakes his head no. Piper says that if he was the real Sting, he would take his mask off and show everyone who he is. He says the real Sting is a world class fighter who is afraid of nothing. "Sting" refuses to take his mask off. Piper then punches this guy in the face, then rips the mask and wig off, revealing that this is indeed a bogus Sting. The bogus Sting hides his head on the way out, and Piper says the fans want the real Sting and he doesn't blame them. He then addresses Buff Bagwell, saying he has seen him talk the talk but not walk the walk. As Vice President and Commissioner of WCW, he makes a match between himself and Buff at Bash at the Beach where they tape their hands up and box each other in ten three-minute rounds. That referee is host of Judge Mills Lane and retired boxing referee of over 100 championship boxing bouts, Mills Lane. Miller says he will be there, having heard a lot of crap from Piper, and if Piper wants to get it on, so be it. He has had a lot of crazy fights and crazy cases, and he will oversee this one, too. Piper tells Mills Lane that if he had problems with Mike Tyson, then he hasn't seen him, and he will make Mike Tyson bark by comparison.
Fit Finley and Lord Steven Regal vs. Konnan and Rey Mysterio Jr. ends when The West Texas Rednecks (Curt Hennig, Barry Windham, Kendall Windham, Bobby Duncum Jr.) - formerly The West Texas Outlaws - attack Konnan and Rey before The No Limit Soldiers rush in to attack the Outlwas.
David Flair retains the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship against Buff Bagwell. During the match, Buff Bagwell hits David Flair with the Buff Blockbuster. Referee Charles Robinson makes the count, but pretends to hurt his shoulder before he can count to three. Bagwell confronts Ronbinson for this, then mocks WCW President "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair and goes for the Figure Four Leg Lock. Ric Flair goes after him, but Buff gets him in an inside cradle. This allows "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson to put the boots to Bagwell, and allows Ric Flair to join in. Dean Malenko gets in the ring and fights both Ric Flair and Arn Anderson, and Asya gets in the ring only to be slammed by Bagwell. WCW Vice President "Rowdy" Roddy Piper gets in the rign and punches Buff in the face with an illegal object in his hand amidst the confusion, and David Flair crawls to Bagwell to make the pinfall and retain.
We see another performance by The Nitro Girls.
WCW Head of Security Doug Dellinger lines up the masked luchadors of World Championship Wrestling so that Eddie Guerrero can figure out who stole his wallet, so he can identify who stole his wallet. As each luchador unmasks with the back of their heads towards the camera, Eddie is surprised by how some of them look. We also find out that The Cheetah Kid is Prince Iaukea, and that none of the men lined up stole his wallet.
The signal for the show is taken over by Hak and Chastity. Hak says he was born hardcore and extreme, and had to fight since his first breath and that fighting is all he knows how to do. He says that he gave WCW a call so that he could get paid for fighting and not go to jail every Saturday night, and says the number of people he has fought and hurt is steadily climbing. If "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair wants to treat him like a dog and take his living away from him by not sanctioning his matches, he will take his matches outside and do it in a junkyard at Bash at the Beach. He calls out every single tough man on the planet to come to the junkyard and face him.

Before the next match, Kevin Nash tells "Macho Man" Randy Savage to take Madusa and Miss Madness and leave if he wants to see Gorgeous George again.
Sid Vicious vs. Kevin Nash for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship ends in a no-contest. During the match, "Macho Man" Randy Savage also gets involved in the match. As Nash fights both Savage and Sid off, Nash inadvertently hits the referee with an avalanche splash in the corner. Suddenly, Sting shows up and attacks Kevin Nash from behind. It is then reveled that this is a fake Sting. Savage hits Nash from behind with the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, then the real Sting shows up, takes out Savage, then takes out the fake Sting. Sting helps Nash up, but Nash, not knowing this is the real Sting, knees him in the gut and hits him with a Jackknife Power Bomb. After the match, Nash tells Savage that if he wants Gorgeous George back, he will find what is left of her in his dressing room. Savage runs to the back, and the real Sting walks back to the back. We then see Savage running to the back, where he topples a table and eventually finds Gorgeous George standing next to Torrie Wilson. Savage checks on George in a fit of rage, then chews out Torrie Wilson for laughing. (This scene of Torrie Wilson corpsing is the basis for Botchamania's "Send For The Man" meme years later.) Savage then rips out the entire front of George's Kevin Nash shirt, then threatens to beat up Torrie Wilson before kicking the crap out of Gorgeous George to end the show.
Chavo Guerrero Jr. trips and falls on his rear end on the ramp before the next match. He is unhurt.
Chavo Guerrero Jr. vs. Juventud Guerrera ends after "Macho Man" Randy Savage and Sid Vicious show up and decimate both men. Sid then gets on the microphone and says he knows Kevin Nash can hear him and that he knows the world can see what they just did. He wants everyone to take a closer look and remember, as what they he and Savage did were examples to follow. Sid tells Nash his dad told him one time that suffering builds character, and he and Savage agree that Nash has a lot of suffering to do, as Nash has messed with Savage's mind. He says that one must not be responsible for another's sanity, for when that happens, things go wrong. He says Nash is on a bed of coals and that nobody is there to piss on him, because nobody cares. Suddenly, Kevin Nash shows up on the video screen with Torrie Wilson. Savage wants to know where Gorgeous George is. Since Sid is wearing the World title, he decides that they might as well have a match for it. Savage tells Nash that he is a dead man and that Sid can do whatever he wants. Nash gets tired of Savage's cursing as Savage tells Nash that he is the end for him. Nash tells Savage that Gorgeous George is getting dressed right now. Nash and Torrie laugh, then Nash brings out Torrie, who is wearing a Kevin Nash shirt with the mid-riff cut off. Savage tells Nash to come out to the ring, but Nash proceeds to mock Savage from backstage. Sid tells Nash the deal is done. Nash will meet him in the ring, he will finish him off, they take Gorgeous George back and that will be that.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews WCW President "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, who is accompanied by his son David Flair. Ric talks about how he spent the Fourth of July in Atlanta, Georgia and has tried to find his mojo ever since. Tonight, as a result of him being President of World Championship Wrestling, he will make something happen. He announces that Scott Steiner has been traveling the world with the women and has no time to defend the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship right now. (In reality, Scott Steiner is out with a back injury.) Because of this, and because he is President, he is hereby placing the United States title around the waist of the man who rightfully deserves it: his son, David Flair. Flair asks Charles Robinson to bring the title as he announces that due to David Flair's recent victory against Kevin Nash, he is #1 contender for the United States title. With Scott Steiner gone, however, he has no champion to fight; therefore he is stripping Scott Steiner of the title and awarding it to David Flair. He says he is handing him the United States title because he can and because it is one leg of the Triple Crown. He says that David will soon become one-half of the WCW World Tag Team Champions and soon the youngest WCW World Heavyweight Champion ever. Charles Robinson heads to the ring with the United States Heavyweight Championship and a bevy of women, one of whom is Asya. Flair says that when he was World champion in Atlanta, he sometimes traveled with two or three women at one time. He hands David the United States title, lets all the women have their way with David, then takes off his jacket and says that he's going downtown with all of them. Suddenly, Buff Bagwell shows up, and red, white and blue balloons drop down from the top of the Georgia Dome. Ric Flair tells Buff Bagwell he can't have him, he can't have David and he can't have the girls. Buff says that as he was backstage, he couldn't help but see that "the triple-D's" were everywhere, with "the triple-D's" standing for "dumb, dumber and dumbest." He also couldn't help but notice the difference of the sound when Flair entered "Buff country." He tells Ric Flair this isn't Charlotte, North Carolina or The Four Horsemen anymore. Flair tells him he's right, and says he's now The President of WCW, and that he works for him. Buff says he likes to party, and to keep this party going, if his son David has any guts - because he has no body - and Ric is the President of WCW, then he, not David, should be the United States champion. All he needs is a shot tonight and everyone will find out he's buff and David's not the stuff. Flair says Buff will find out David is John Elway and everyone with him is the Denver Broncos. Ric tells David to stay by him and not get tired, and tells him he's got the match. Nevertheless, Buff asks the crowd if they want to see him whip David's butt.

Before the next match, Rick Steiner says that when you run with the bgi dog, the view never changes. When you run with him and Scott Steiner, you can take whatever you want. They are running around like a pack of wild dogs, and if anyone wants some, they can get some. If anyone doesn't like him, they can bite him.

Lodi and Lenny Lane walk out of the locker room, with Lenny Lane carrying an pink-and-purple pair of shorts - Lenny's favorite colors - matching what Lodi has on right now. Lenny says he doesn't have to try them on, as Lodi knows all his measurements. Lodi responds by saying "I know every inch of you." Lodi says he knows Lenny is still nervous, but say WCW won't mind when they find out, saying they're open-minded. Lenny says that if Lodi wants him to trust him, then trust him he will. The camera then focuses on the double doors they just came out of, which have the word "closet" on them.
We see a narrated video package of Bret "The Hit Man" Hart, who has not been on WCW television since the death of his brother Owen Hart, showing just how much Bret means to World Championship Wrestling.
Bret "The Hit Man" Hart appears for the first time on WCW programming since the death of his brother Owen Hart. Bret says he has all the time he wants to speak, and he will try not to rush himself. On behalf of his family and everyone back in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, he thanks the fans who has sent their love, support and condolences, as it has meant a lot to himself and to his family, and it was very much appreciated. World Championship Wrestling has been kind to him in the last few weeks, and allowed him all the time in the world to collect himself. He says a few words about his brother Owen, saying he was not your average wrestler and that he was a wonderful human being. He knows many people watched him on TV, but never got close to him sometimes. Some fans did, and some of the wrestlers go to know him, too. He says there is not a bad thing that could be said about Owen anywhere. He said that Owen was his closest brother, as they had never had an argument or shouted at each other once, and they were the best of friends. They were close from the time that Owen was a baby, and he takes a lot of pride in knowing how well he had turned out. Bret says Eric Bischoff talked to him, and asked him to come back tonight to explain how he felt about things, and felt he would be ready to talk about things when he got here. The reality, however, is that he is having a hard time deciding what to do with his life and his career. He has lived for wrestling, and his family has lived and died for wrestling. He is at a crossroads where he looks at wrestling and wonders what there is left for him to do, and that maybe it is time to move on and accomplish something in another field. He thinks of Wayne Gretzky and John Elway and all the other athletes retiring in 1999, and when he thinks of those people, they all got to hang it up and be happy with what they accomplished, but when he looks at himself, it sucks. He tells himself that on one hand, it is not fair to end his career on a tragedy or a bad note, but at the same time, nobody wants to prove more in wrestling than he does. He admits he does not know what to do next, and even though he always give his best and is happy despite how everything has turned out, but he will take some time and think about everything and put things in perspective. If he never gets the chance to say it again, he wants to thank all the fans everywhere that he ever had and still have, as he would not be anything without them, having had fans since the very start. In case he never gets another chance to talk to the fans, he thanks the fans all around the world that he has ever met, as well as wrestlers all over the world that he has ever worked with, and hopes that he wasn't too stiff. He then thanks the crowd for their time and leaves.
Backstage, Eddie Guerrero asks WCW Head of Security Doug Dellinger for help, saying that someone has stolen his wallet, and he knows that one of the masked wrestlers did it. He demands Dellinger round them up andline them up so he can identify who it is.
Jerry Flynn beats Ernest "The Cat" Miller by disqualification in a kickboxing match with 14 seconds left in the second round after The Cat hits Flynn - who is on his knee - with a punch to the back of the head. Flynn hits The Cat with a double leg takedown after the match.

WCW Head of Security talks to Villano V, La Parka, Ciclope and Psychosis, telling them that Eddie Guerrero ahs lost his wallet and has accused the masked wrestlers of stealing it, and wants them to line up so that he can identify who did it. Blitzkrieg and The Cheetah Kid is brought out.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews WCW Vice President "Rowdy" Roddy Piper. Piper shows up after over a minute. He says that six reality check points go to Curt Hennig and Bobby Duncum for saving the youth of America, because rap is crap. He also calls out Sting, and brings him out to the ring. Instead of the real Sting, a man in a Sting mask shows up. So big is the jacket that the fake Sting is wearing that his hands are still in the sleeves and that he is shorter than Piper. Piper smells a rat, and wants to know if he is part of "Team Madness." "Sting" shakes his head no. When he asks if this Sting has never been in the back Hummer, "Sting" shakes his head no. When asked if there is no coalition between him and Savage to take the World title, "Sting" shakes his head no. Piper says that if he was the real Sting, he would take his mask off and show everyone who he is. He says the real Sting is a world class fighter who is afraid of nothing. "Sting" refuses to take his mask off. Piper then punches this guy in the face, then rips the mask and wig off, revealing that this is indeed a bogus Sting. The bogus Sting hides his head on the way out, and Piper says the fans want the real Sting and he doesn't blame them. He then addresses Buff Bagwell, saying he has seen him talk the talk but not walk the walk. As Vice President and Commissioner of WCW, he makes a match between himself and Buff at Bash at the Beach where they tape their hands up and box each other in ten three-minute rounds. Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for May 31, 1999
Raven is attacked by Diamond Dallas Page and Bam Bam Bigelow outside of the arena in footage from earlier today and tossed into a dumpster.
We see a performance by The Nitro Girls.
Eddie Guerrero shows up on Nitro for the first time in months since his automobile accident. We see some photos of the car that Eddie was thrown 100 feet from. Eddie says that he suffered a lacerated liver and a broken hip socket, and had to have reconstructive surgery done on his shin and ankle. He says it feels great to be back, and says he took wrestling for granted. He is now grateful to be able to walk again, and hopefully, get back in the ring again. Eddie Guerrero then guests on commentary.
Kidman beats Hak in a hardcore match by disqualification after Hugh Morrus interferes. During the match, Tank Abbott shows up with his own posse. He mentions the steel cage match between Sting and Rick Steiner tonight, and says both men do not know what hardcore is as he has fought in a cage more times than he can count. He says he will be the referee for that match, and he will be here and he will bring hell if he does not. Abbott and his posse then leave. After the match, Brian Knobbs shows up and attacks Hak with an aluminum garbage can before putting him through a table. We then see WCW President "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair and WCW Executive Committee Chairman J.J. Dillon on the phone. Flair asks for eight girls to be delivered to his hotel room before making sure that "Macho Man" Randy Savage's top rope elbow is banned. Dillon tells him that is indeed banned and that Flair will be the one to officially ban it anytime in the show that he wants. Flair goes so far as to say that it will be banned on all WCW programming.
Eddie Guerrero thanks everyone who prayed for him to get better, and also thanks WCW and Eric Bischoff for keeping him employed for the five months that he was down and out. He leaves the commentary table.
Diamond Dallas Page and Bam Bam Bigelow show up. DDP says he doesn't get the people at all, and says they feel nothing. All he knows is that he tried to do the right thing after he injured Hollywood Hogan and apologized for it, saying it was the wrong thing to do. He tried to apologize, but all he got in return was Hogan knocking him out as he came walking towards the ring and running his mouth about how he is #1 on Hogan's hit parade. DDP says he and Bam Bam Bigelow are considering putting Hogan out permanently. They also brag about "taking out the trash" concerning their attack on Raven earlier today, and says they would rather face Raven and Saturn for the WCW World Tag Team Championships tonight and do it with a little East Coast attitude.
Mike Tenay tells Saturn and Kanyon about Diamond Dallas Page and Bam Bam Bigelow's attack on Raven - who is now in the hospital - as well as DDP and Bigelow's challenge for the tag team titles tonight. Kanyon tells Tenay to go tell the Executive Committee to make the match official for tonight.
DJ Ran is seen at a turntable. Curt Hennig then guests on commentary again this week. He says that he heard what DJ Ran had to say about him, and says he is tired of rap music and Konnan and Rey Mysterio Jr., and considers singing a country song to DJ Ran. He then heads to the aisle and calls out Bobby Duncum Jr., who shows up wearing a cowboy hat and hands him a hat of his own. Duncum and Hennig walk up to DJ Ran, and Hennig gives him until the count of three to leave. DJ Ran almost leaves, and Hennig is about to sing when Konnan and Rey Mysterio Jr. show up. Konnan tells Hennig and Duncum are trying to "flex game where they ain't got none," and after Hennig says he can slap that smile off his face, this leads to a brief brawl that officials have to break up. Hennig says if they want a piece of him, he'll rip them a new one.
It is announced that Rey Mysterio and Konnan will face Curt Hennig and Bobby Duncum Jr. later tonight.

He says there is a big dispute between The Four Horsemen ("The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson, "The Crippler" Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko), as Benoit wants to be free and Flair has "become a gelding." He says Malenko is tied up and having to clean up Flair's mess. He then asks Malenko to come out, and he shows up. Piper tells Malenko he thinks he is the greatest Cruiserweight Champion of all time and a great technical wrestler, but says everyone wants to know what is going on. Malenko grabs the microphone and says the reality is self-explanatory. He says that he and Benoit did not walk away from The Horsemen or Ric Flair. Instead, Ric Flair walked away from them. WCW President Flair shows up along with Arn Anderson, and Piper tells Flair and Anderson that Malenko has a point and that he wants to make it known to the public. Malenko tells Flair that for the last eight to ten months, he and Benoit had to sit in the back and listen to Flair feed his ego every night. He says that Flair does not get is that it is not about extravagant living anymore and that it is about passing the torch. Malenko says a lot of established wrestler doesn't get the fact that the newer wrestlers will have to be the ones to take WCW to the new millennium. Flair says he is glad Piper has a job as a microphone stand, and says that without him, there are no Horsemen, Benoits or Malenko, and until he can see anyone who can hold the torch, he's not passing it, and tells Malenko and Piper that he and Anderson are the big cheeses and to meet them head on. Malenko tells Anderson he put his heart and soul in the Horsemen, and that this is not what they talked about. Anderson says Malenko came to him, not the other way around, and said that if he was to come out of retirement, it was to bring the Horsemen back to the prominence it once held. He says wrestling is a man's sport performed by men, and that this disagreement can be patched up and that neither person has to pick up their ball and go home because a disagreement exists. Malenko says Anderson doesn't get it, as he was swearing night after night, as he made a commitment for the Horsemen while Flair was being committed. He says a week ago, he would have bent over backwards and watched Arn's back because he believed in him, but that was last week. Malenko leaves, and Anderson follows him. Piper tells Flair his cabinet is falling apart, and that he will see him in Baltimore. Flair attacks Piper from behind as he leaves, then rips his shirt off and chops and punches him. Flair then takes his own shirt off, and the two men brawl. Piper quickly gets the upper hand and punches Flair in the face multiple times before whipping Flair with his belt. Flair and Piper then start fighting outside of the ring, and Flair ends up retreating to the back.

Before the next match, Curt Hennig tries to sing a country song, but Rey Mysterio Jr. and Konnan drop kick him and Bobby Duncum Jr. out of the ring before Hennig can even sing one line.
Konnan and Rey Mysterio Jr. beat Curt Hennig and Bobby Duncum Jr. when Duncum hits Konnan with a cowbell as Konnan has Hennig in the Tequila Sunrise. After the match, Duncum hogties Konnan with his rope, then Hennig knocks Rey out.
"Macho Man" Randy Savage shows up. He says there is a rumor going around that Kevin Nash is not going to wait until The Great American Bash, as he is tired of Savage making him ridiculous by painting his face with lipstick and wants to fight him tonight. Savage says there is not one person in the arena tonight who believes that Nash can beat him. Madusa shows up as Savage continues to speak, and tells him Gorgeous George has seen Kevin Nash in the building. Savage says it's on and it's hit the fan, and he will treat Nash like a coward and push him back into the closet where he needs to stay.
It is revealed that Diamond Dallas Page and Bam Bam Bigelow have laid Kanyon out backstage.
David Flair beats Erik Watts after WCW President "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair distracts the referee from the apron and "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson hits Watts with a spinebuster.
Buff Bagwell talks with WCW President "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair in Flair's office, and asks for a match with "Macho Man" Randy Savage tonight. Flair says that he does not have the match, as he is not in Savage's league. He is placed in a match against Bobby Eaton later tonight, and if he can beat Eaton, he can prove that he is almost ready for Savage. Buff says that if Flair puts him in the ring with Eaton, Eaton will get hurt, and asks Flair if that is what he wants. Flair says yes. Buff Bagwell high-fives Flair and leaves.
Before the next match, "The Cat" Ernest Miller says he is here for only one reason: to whup somebody. He says he is sick and tired of Scott Norton running in on his matches, and calls Norton out. Norton shows up.
Ernest "The Cat" Miller beats Scott Norton after Sonny Onoo hands The Cat a crowbar and distracts the referee. The black-and-white nWo is seen watching Norton tear The Cat apart in the locker room, and when Norton loses, they immediately try to skip town.
When "Macho Man" Randy Savage shows up for his next match, he calls out Kevin Nash, but a fake Kevin Nash - who is wearing a red sequined dress, red pumps and a pageant sash saying Miss Big Sexy '99" and is also much shorter than the real deal - shows up instead. Savage says that Nash has "come out of the closet." The fake Nash is also seen with a replica of the WCW World Heavyweight Championship.

Savage distracts the referee, then Madusa kicks the fake Nash and removes his shoes before Miss Madness hits him with a top rope hurricanrana. Savage then distracts the referee again along with Madusa and Miss Madness so Gorgeous George can hit Nash with a top rope elbow drop.

Saturn says Diamond Dallas Page and Bam Bam Bigelow only made him mad when they sent Raven and Kanyon to the hospital, and says they can do it two-on-one. When DDP and Bam Bam Bigelow show up and DDP tries to confirm what Saturn has just said, he says that Saturn is stupider than he looks.
Diamond Dallas Page and Bam Bam Bigelow beat Saturn to become the WCW World Tag Team Champions! During the match, Kanyon runs to the ring with a hospital band on his left wrist, and Saturn tags him in. Unfortunately for Kanyon, he goes down after one discus punch from DDP.
"Macho Man" Randy Savage, Gorgeous George, Madusa and Miss Madness take a limousine out of the arena when an two sewer trucks blocks their path. The real Kevin Nash comes out of the second one and dumps a pipe full of sewage water from the top of the limousine into the limousine itself. Savage and the ladies have to get out of the limousine immediately. We then hear a message from Kevin Nash stating that this portion of Nitro was brought to us by Louis Septic Services (the name of the company on the second truck), "for all your Savage sewage needs."
DJ Ran announces the dropping of the steel cage for the next match.
Rick Steiner vs. Sting in a steel cage ends in a no-contest. During the match, special guest referee and UFC fighter Tank Abbott pushes Rick Steiner out of the corner, causing Sting to miss with the Stinger Splash in the corner. Abbott leaves the cage and walks out with his teammates as Rick Steiner tapes Sting to the top rope with athletic tape and continues to attack Sting as the show ends.

Eddie Guerrero shows up on Nitro for the first time in months since his automobile accident. We see some photos of the car that Eddie was thrown 100 feet from. Eddie says that he suffered a lacerated liver and a broken hip socket, and had to have reconstructive surgery done on his shin and ankle. He says it feels great to be back, and says he took wrestling for granted. He is now grateful to be able to walk again, and hopefully, get back in the ring again. Eddie Guerrero then guests on commentary.
Kidman beats Hak in a hardcore match by disqualification after Hugh Morrus interferes. During the match, Tank Abbott shows up with his own posse. He mentions the steel cage match between Sting and Rick Steiner tonight, and says both men do not know what hardcore is as he has fought in a cage more times than he can count. He says he will be the referee for that match, and he will be here and he will bring hell if he does not. Abbott and his posse then leave. After the match, Brian Knobbs shows up and attacks Hak with an aluminum garbage can before putting him through a table. We then see WCW President "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair and WCW Executive Committee Chairman J.J. Dillon on the phone. Flair asks for eight girls to be delivered to his hotel room before making sure that "Macho Man" Randy Savage's top rope elbow is banned. Dillon tells him that is indeed banned and that Flair will be the one to officially ban it anytime in the show that he wants. Flair goes so far as to say that it will be banned on all WCW programming.
Eddie Guerrero thanks everyone who prayed for him to get better, and also thanks WCW and Eric Bischoff for keeping him employed for the five months that he was down and out. He leaves the commentary table.
Diamond Dallas Page and Bam Bam Bigelow show up. DDP says he doesn't get the people at all, and says they feel nothing. All he knows is that he tried to do the right thing after he injured Hollywood Hogan and apologized for it, saying it was the wrong thing to do. He tried to apologize, but all he got in return was Hogan knocking him out as he came walking towards the ring and running his mouth about how he is #1 on Hogan's hit parade. DDP says he and Bam Bam Bigelow are considering putting Hogan out permanently. They also brag about "taking out the trash" concerning their attack on Raven earlier today, and says they would rather face Raven and Saturn for the WCW World Tag Team Championships tonight and do it with a little East Coast attitude.
Mike Tenay tells Saturn and Kanyon about Diamond Dallas Page and Bam Bam Bigelow's attack on Raven - who is now in the hospital - as well as DDP and Bigelow's challenge for the tag team titles tonight. Kanyon tells Tenay to go tell the Executive Committee to make the match official for tonight.
DJ Ran is seen at a turntable. Curt Hennig then guests on commentary again this week. He says that he heard what DJ Ran had to say about him, and says he is tired of rap music and Konnan and Rey Mysterio Jr., and considers singing a country song to DJ Ran. He then heads to the aisle and calls out Bobby Duncum Jr., who shows up wearing a cowboy hat and hands him a hat of his own. Duncum and Hennig walk up to DJ Ran, and Hennig gives him until the count of three to leave. DJ Ran almost leaves, and Hennig is about to sing when Konnan and Rey Mysterio Jr. show up. Konnan tells Hennig and Duncum are trying to "flex game where they ain't got none," and after Hennig says he can slap that smile off his face, this leads to a brief brawl that officials have to break up. Hennig says if they want a piece of him, he'll rip them a new one.
It is announced that Rey Mysterio and Konnan will face Curt Hennig and Bobby Duncum Jr. later tonight.
Van Hammer beats Evan Karagias.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews "Rowdy" Roddy Piper. He says there is a big dispute between The Four Horsemen ("The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson, "The Crippler" Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko), as Benoit wants to be free and Flair has "become a gelding." He says Malenko is tied up and having to clean up Flair's mess. He then asks Malenko to come out, and he shows up. Piper tells Malenko he thinks he is the greatest Cruiserweight Champion of all time and a great technical wrestler, but says everyone wants to know what is going on. Malenko grabs the microphone and says the reality is self-explanatory. He says that he and Benoit did not walk away from The Horsemen or Ric Flair. Instead, Ric Flair walked away from them. WCW President Flair shows up along with Arn Anderson, and Piper tells Flair and Anderson that Malenko has a point and that he wants to make it known to the public. Malenko tells Flair that for the last eight to ten months, he and Benoit had to sit in the back and listen to Flair feed his ego every night. He says that Flair does not get is that it is not about extravagant living anymore and that it is about passing the torch. Malenko says a lot of established wrestler doesn't get the fact that the newer wrestlers will have to be the ones to take WCW to the new millennium. Flair says he is glad Piper has a job as a microphone stand, and says that without him, there are no Horsemen, Benoits or Malenko, and until he can see anyone who can hold the torch, he's not passing it, and tells Malenko and Piper that he and Anderson are the big cheeses and to meet them head on. Malenko tells Anderson he put his heart and soul in the Horsemen, and that this is not what they talked about. Anderson says Malenko came to him, not the other way around, and said that if he was to come out of retirement, it was to bring the Horsemen back to the prominence it once held. He says wrestling is a man's sport performed by men, and that this disagreement can be patched up and that neither person has to pick up their ball and go home because a disagreement exists. Malenko says Anderson doesn't get it, as he was swearing night after night, as he made a commitment for the Horsemen while Flair was being committed. He says a week ago, he would have bent over backwards and watched Arn's back because he believed in him, but that was last week. Malenko leaves, and Anderson follows him. Piper tells Flair his cabinet is falling apart, and that he will see him in Baltimore. Flair attacks Piper from behind as he leaves, then rips his shirt off and chops and punches him. Flair then takes his own shirt off, and the two men brawl. Piper quickly gets the upper hand and punches Flair in the face multiple times before whipping Flair with his belt. Flair and Piper then start fighting outside of the ring, and Flair ends up retreating to the back.
