Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for September 18, 2026

General Manager Nick Aldis is in the ring to start tonight's show. He says that sometimes, he has to deal with people who rub him the wrong way in his job, and he has to dig deep, wear a smile and stay professional. With that in mind, Aldis introduces Sami Zayn to the ring. Sami thinks that Aldis finds it funny that the crowd boos him and that it must eat Aldis up to declare him the Undisputed WWE Champion, then says it feels good coming out of his own mouth and says that he meant it when justice for him was justice for all. He then says that he fights even for the people who boo him, saying that it is also for them, then says that justice has been served and that the Undisputed WWE Championship is what it looks like. Sami Zayn says that justice is not the only core tenet in his belief system and that he also believes in equality, and says that when other Superstars are knocking down his door, he expects Aldis to treat them like he treated him and make them go through hoops. Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae show up and head to the ring, and Sami says he would not be celebrating tonight if it were not for him. Gargano says they would not miss it for the world, then brings up their deal, saying that if they helped him last week, then he is first in line. Sami says that Gargano was the one to say something, not him, and that leads to Gargano demanding that Sami uphold the deal. Aldis steps in and says Sami may be the champion, but he does not make the matches. Aldis says he has CM Punk in mind as next in line, but Punk is not here. Suddenly, Kevin Owens shows up. Sami tells Aldis to control the roster as Owens heads to the ring, and Owens says that when it comes to people who deserve title matches, he is in the picture. Candice LeRae insists that Johnny Gargano is next, and Owens hits Gargano with a Stunner. Aldis tells Owens that he cannot reward bed behavior, but Owens reminds Aldis that Sami screwed up multiple SmackDown main events to become champion again. Owens specifically mentions Sami costing him a title shot and making a no-contest out of a #1 contender Triple Threat Match in addition to Sami being "an arrogant jackass," all which Aldis notes as true. Sami grabs Aldis by the suit as he demands that Aldis not throw him under the bus. Aldis demands Sami take his hands off him, then makes Sami defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens tonight before asking if Sami can make it past seven days. Sami catches up to Aldis afterwards, but as he talks to him, Randy Orton shows up, shines the front of the WWE Championship, and tells Sami to keep it warm for him before he heads to the ring for the next match. When Owens and Orton meet near the ring, they nod at each other.

We see footage of WWE on tour in South America and Mexico.

Trick Williams beats Rey Fenix and Randy Orton in a men's Triple Threat Money in the Bank Qualifier after Orton RKOs Fenix out of the air only for Trick to hit him with a Trick Shot before pinning Fenix to qualify.

Backstage, Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae are met by Sami Zayn, who says that "they are trying to do it again" and take the Undisputed WWE Championship. He also tells Gargano that what General Manager Nick Aldis said to him is "crap" and says that he will work on a title match between them. Sami then says that if he loses the Undisputed WWE Championship and he is not champion anymore, Gargano may never get another shot at the Undisputed WWE Championship again. Gargano says he gets it, then Sami says they will get together later.

We hear from The MFTs (Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, Haku). Tama Tonga says that they became tag team champions themselves and that they needed Shinsuke Nakamura, and that Nakamura made a mistake bringing Kiyoki to WWE, saying that whatever happens to him will be on Nakamura. We then hear from Bakusai (Shinsuke Nakamura and Kiyoki). Nakamura tells The MFTs that they are the prey, not the hunters.

Backstage, Tatum Paxley is lighting special candles as Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss focus on tonight's match. Charlotte blows one of the candles out, and Alexa says that she needs to focus on what she needs to do on her own. Alexa leaves, then Charlotte accidentally blows out the candle for bad luck.

Bakusai (Shinsuke Nakamura and Kiyoki) beat The MFTs (Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa) by disqualification after Haku hits Nakamura in the throat with his cane on the outside. After the match, The MFTs double-team and lay out Kiyoki.

Backstage, Cathy Kelley interviews Kevin Owens. Owens mentions Corpus Christi being where he had his first official main roster match against John Cena and won, then says the starts have aligned perfectly and that he will beat Sami Zayn to become WWE Champion. Finn Balor shows up and says it is convenient that Owens has a title shot against Sami Zayn, then says that he is coming for whoever wins tonight, even if he has to win Money in the Bank to do it.

Backstage, General Manager Nick Aldis congratulates Chelsea Green when Danhausen shows up with Aldis' phone in his hand, saying that Gunther is mad at Aldis. Aldis chases Danhausen into his office, then Tiffany Stratton tells Chelsea that she will be in the Money in the Bank qualifiers. They both run into Nikki Bella, who tells Chelsea to keep her name out of her mouth and that she is coming for her title without having to qualify for Money in the Bank because she is a legend.

Michael Cole interviews "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes backstage. Cody admits that he could not pull the trigger on Randy Orton and he does not want to give excuses. On the subject of being called "QB1" and how everyone he celebrated with at WrestleMania 40 have stabbed him in the back, Cody says he should have seen it coming and beat them to the punch, saying everyone gets seduced by the biggest title in the game. He says that this is not the end of "QB1" as there is still a team in the form of those calling the action in WWE. On the subject of facing Randy Orton in the ring again, Cody says he is not immune to the discussions about his morality and says that all his success beyond his wildest dreams came down to knowing who he was and being uncompromised. He says that "uncompromised" led to two Royal Rumble wins, two wins against John Cena, and beating Roman Reigns for the first time in four years, and that he is amused to the belief that he needs to change. Cody says he will face Orton again, and when he does, he will not make the same mistake twice.

Backstage, Cathy Kelley interviews Jade Cargill, B-Fab and Michin. B-Fab and Michin says they have all mopped the floor with Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, and Tatum Paxley. Cargill then says that B-Fab and Michin are next in line for the women's tag team titles while she is coming for what is hers in the WWE Women's Championship.

Jacy Jayne beats Alexa Bliss and Jade Cargill in a women's Triple Threat Money in the Bank qualifier after Cargill counters Sister Abigail with Jaded only for Jayne to kick Cargill in the head, allowing her to pin Alexa and qualify.

Backstage, Cathy Kelley interviews Giulia, who says that Charlotte Flair and Lash Legend are in her way just like she is in theirs. The Irresistible Forces (Nia Jax and Lash Legend) show up, but Giulia says she does not like them and she beats up people she does not like. Lash says she will qualify for Money in the Bank and go on to become champion, but Giulia says they will see how that will go after she kicks Lash's teeth in.

Backstage, Lil Yachty talks with Trick Williams. Trick says he has a plan for Baron Corbin, but right now, he is focused on Money in the Bank. Trick Williams and Lil Yachty catch up with Sami Zayn, who takes offense to being called "Gingerbread Man" and demands respect. Trick hopes Sami is still champion when he wins Money in the Bank so he can beat him for championship gold again.

We hear from Damian Priest, who says the real question is why is took so long to get rid of R-Truth, especially after R-Truth put him through so much. He says that R-Truth should have been the one to change and that R-Truth should have let him move on, then says that R-Truth does not get it yet and that he will make sure he does.

Sami Zayn retains the Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens following the interference and distractions by Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae and the sudden appearance of CM Punk, who blasts Owens in the face with the Undisputed WWE Championship. After the match, CM Punk attacks Sami Zayn and hits him with the GTS. As Punk's music plays, Punk then hits the GTS on Owens.

He then announces that since he is a generous and magnanimous king, he has another guest, and he will let him announce himself. It is none other than Mr. Anderson, who has not been seen in TNA since 2016. Kazarian refuses to shake Anderson's hand before Anderson mentions that he has been in Minnesota for the last twenty years and that his wrestling school is in the state and that his kids are from there. Kazarian makes fun of Anderson, then mentions their history and how he beat him in one of the few one-on-one Ultimate X matches in TNA history, then mentions Anderson having been in the United States Army Reserve and brings up Steve Maclin. He says that Maclin is a coward, then asks Anderson if he has been a coward. Anderson mentions what Maclin has done in the Marines, then questions Kazarian's military history. Kazarian takes offense to this and says that Anderson is starting to piss him off. He then mentions that Anderson's mother, wife and children are here tonight, and they are all briefly seen on camera before Kazarian asks Anderson if they are willing to stand by as he beats him within an inch of his life. Kazarian asks Anderson if this is the kind of man and father he is as he repeatedly pokes him in the chest, and Anderson twists his right hand and presses him against the ropes. He says that Jey Uso has earned a large amount of second chances and that he deserves one, then says that Jey Uso deserves a chance to show he has changed now that The Bloodline is now down a member. Sami says that he knows Jey Uso and has been through a lot with him and what he has been through him, and while Owens does not have to give him a chance, he should just like he did with him, as it is why they became tag team champions. Jey says he knows all about family, but Priest says what The Judgment Day has is something special, and if he is interested, he can be the family he has been looking for. He then tells him not to make him look bad in front of the family and gives him until the end of the night for an answer.

"Big" Bronson Reed beats Chad Gable.

We hear from Tommaso Ciampa, who says that when he came to Raw, he planned to play the long game until his number was called, and as he waited, he found out that patience is a crutch, not a virtue, and that he must create his own opportunities. He says that Giovanni Vinci will tap again, then reminds Imperium (Gunther, Ludwig Kaiser, Giovanni Vinci) that he chose them, not the other way around, and that Gunther has what he wants.

Backstage, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens talk about "Main Event" Jey Uso when Jey shows up and tells him to say what he has to say about him to his face. Owens thinks that Jey is with The Judgment Day (Finn Balor, Damian Priest, Rhea Ripley, "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio), and if he is not, he will be with them soon enough. Sami gets in the middle of this and tells Owens to take a deep breath, and after Owens leaves, Sami tells Jey that Owens will need time to come around and that Jey has a big decision to make tonight.

Before the next match, Becky Lynch admits that while the NXT Women's Championship may have not been on her bingo card this year, one has to take opportunities while they can. She then says that she did not just want to win the title and put it on her mantle, but to defend it and take it to heights never seen before, as NXT truly represents hope, hunger, passion and progress as well as the future of the business. Becky says she wants to face the best the business has to offer, which is why she will be at NXT tomorrow night, but tonight, she is in Utah and that there are women who have worked but have not gotten that opportunity, and she is issuing an open challenge. As she says that she cannot think of a better time and place than here and now, Natalya shows up and asks her to name another woman who has worked harder than her after she took Rhea Ripley to her limit and has been waiting since. She then accepts the challenge. Becky says she has nothing against Becky and that she was hoping for someone new to answer, and that Natalya has been in WWE for fifteen years. She says that is fine if Bayley wants to do cheap shots, as she will become the new SmackDown Women's Champion at Clash of Champions. Nikki Cross then addresses Alexa Bliss with her actions from last week, when she hit her with Sister Abigail and walked off. Miz insists that he is superior to Daniel Bryan and that Bryan is not on his level, especially after beating him at SummerSlam and Hell In A Cell. He plans to beat him at Super Show-Down, then go on to face the WWE Champion. Miz then says he has moved heaven and earth to get tonight's guest on the show: his wife Maryse, who shows up. Maryse says beating Brie Bella was easier than give birth to their child, and that Brie did not stand a chance. She says that Brie's heart was not in it, and Miz says Brie's heart isn't in her relationship with Daniel Bryan anymore, either. He says that Brie only married Daniel because he was a star, and Maryse says she married only to stay relevant and market her image. Miz says Daniel had Brie fight his battle for him, and says their "marriage of convenience" backfired. Maryse then announce she has breaking news: tonight is her last night on SmackDown Live...for now. Nevertheless, the crowd cheers. Miz puts Maryse on a pedestal as "Mother of the Century," then gets angry at the fans for booing her. He says that if they want to boo Maryse, he'll give the fans something to boo about. He calls out Daniel Bryan, saying he will destroy him right now. Daniel Bryan shows up and says Miz can talk about him all he wants, but when he talks about his wife, he will beat him up. He runs into the ring, and The Miz gets drop kicked into Maryse. Both Miz and Maryse are knocked down. Referee Charles Robinson shows up and checks on Maryse, then calls for medical help. EMTs show up as Daniel Bryan shows remorse, then he tells Maryse he is sorry as Miz tries to get a bottle of water. Maryse some how manages to get onto the apron on her own power, then smiles and laughs, revealing this is all a ruse. Miz grabs Daniel Bryan from behind, but Miz and Maryse's ruse backfire and both of them are knocked out of the ring when they try to get the upper hand on Daniel Bryan.

Backstage, Kayla Braxton interviews Daniel Bryan, who says that if The Miz calls him out, he is up to something. He did not realize Maryse would fake an injury to get the upper hand. At Super Show-Down, he won't just punch Miz's face, he'll punch a ticket to a title shot.

Before the next match, Kofi Kingston says The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods) proved that there is room for only one day in SmackDown Live at Hell In A Cell. Woods then announces the SmackDown tag titles will be defended against The Bar (Sheamus and Cesaro) at Super Show-Down. Suddenly, Big E breaks out in an Australian accent as he mocks The Bar. Orton asks him if he finds it disturbing, then tells the guy that how he tortured Hardy on Sunday is nothing compared to what he will do to his next victim.

Backstage, Kayla Braxton interviews "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles, who says that after everything Samoa Joe put him and his family through, the worst thing that would have happened was losing the WWE title. He says that Lady Luck shone on him, and that either Joe got either bad luck or karma. At Super Show-Down, they will do it one more. As for tonight, he faces Andrade "Cien" Almas, who took him to the limit last time. He plans to get it right so he can pick up a win.

Backstage, Lana is about to tell Rusev about what Aiden English said, but Rusev is too focused on his United States title match.

Becky says it took two long years, but she is back where she belongs, and that this is her show and her title. She says she is not being left off magazine covers and posters, and that she will get what she deserves. Becky says that all she wanted for this coronation was Charlotte Flair, whom she calls out. Charlotte then shows up. Paige warns them not to fight, but Charlotte says she is not here for that. Paige leaves, then Charlotte says she is here to show the respect she could not give her at SummerSlam, not to steal her spotlight. She says that at Hell In A Cell, Becky was the better woman, and she congratulates her. However, she says Becky paid a steep price to win and lost more than a friendship. She tells her to soak this in, because she will take the title back at Super Show-Down. Charlotte says Becky won it after two years, but she can lose it in one night. Becky tells Charlotte that her boasting worked against her at Hell In A Cell, and allows Charlotte to raise her hand, but Charlotte refuses. Becky then allows Charlotte to put the SmackDown Women's title around her waist. Charlotte refuses to do this too, and says all she wanted was some respect. Becky says she was kidding, and just wants Charlotte to call her "queen." Charlotte turns around, and Becky calls her a bitch. Charlotte turns back around and slaps Becky, and this leads to a brawl between the two women. Becky comes out on top and locks the Dis-Arm-Her on Charlotte. Becky then raises the title up before picking Charlotte back up and hitting her with a Bexploder, then leaves with the SmackDown Women's title. Becky then raises the SmackDown Women's title up on the stage to end the show.

Miz complains that he is being looked at like an afterthough, as there is no Intercontinental Championship match at No Mercy. Angle tells him that if he had let him finish, he would have found out that he is going to have one. There will be a Fatal 4-Way between Jeff Hardy, Matt Hardy, Elias and Jason Ordan tonight, with the winner facing Miz for the Intercontinental title on Sunday. Miz says Jordan is not deserving of a title shot, and that there are others in the locker room who are more deserving, such as his teammates in the Miztourage, and tells Angle to stop rewarding Jason Jordan for absolutely nothing. Angle says he hopes that fatherhood changes Miz and makes him less bitter, but Miz tells Angle not to mention fatherhood to him when he abandoned Jason Jordan and put him up for adoption. Miz tells Angle that he will be a better champion - and father - than Angle ever was, and says he should be Angle's priority, not Jordan, whom Angle is making up lost time for. He then says that it doesn't matter if Angle is abandoning his duties as General Manager or walking out on his son, as you can always count on Angle to be a deadbeat. Suddenly, Jason Jordan shows up and snatches the microphone out of Miz's hand, and tells him that if he utters one more word about Angle, he will knock his pretty little teeth down his throat. Jordan then proposes putting Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel in the Fatal 4-Way Match tonight, so that Miz has no excuses when he loses. Angle does just that, effectively turning the Fatal 4-Way into a Six-Pack Challenge. Miz says Jordan is more incompetent than his father, which earns him a double leg takedown from Jordan, who then overpowers Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel.

General Manager Kurt Angle tells Jason Jordan to calm down backstage. Jordan says that people - not just The Miz - have been talking about Angle, and he has heard the whispers. He says that when he beats The Miz, the whispers will stop. Angle asks what happens if they don't, and says that they will just go on to talk about him and make the problem worse. He tells him that if he really wants to get back at The Miz, then he must win the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

Nia Jax beats Alexa Bliss. During the match, Alexa Bliss tries to retreat when Nia Jax overpowers her from the start, but when she does, Sasha Banks blocks her from heading backstage and Alexa runs right into Nia Jax when she sprints back into the ring. After the match, Sasha Banks jumps on top of Nia Jax, but Nia gets the upper hand. All of a sudden, Bayley returns from injury, and she, Sasha Banka and Alexa Bliss all tackle Nia Jax out of the ring. Afterwards, Sasha and Bayley celebrate, but Alexa humorously gets in between them. Bayley and Sasha lay Alexa out in the middle of the ring for that.

Sheamus and Cesaro show up. Sheamus says everything these days is about nostalgia, as it is everywhere in the media right now and everyone loves it for it allows them to escape reality for the good old days. He then says he and Cesaro live in the present and destroy nostalgia acts, and tells the crowd to ask The Hardys (Jeff and Matt Hardy). Cesaro talks about how Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins are back together and having the time of their lives, but says that something can go wrong with their friendship and that something will go wrong on Sunday. Sheamus says Dean and Seth's friendship is a fraud and that they are using each other for their own selfish needs, then he and Cesaro use the opportunity to make fun of the crowd's "What?" chants. Cesaro then says the moment the fun ends, nostalgia fades and the truth sets in, and that Rollins and Ambrose cannot stand each other. Sheamus says their friendship is fragile, and when it breaks, he and Cesaro will pick up the pieces and the Raw tag team titles. Rollins and Ambrose then show up. After making fun of Sheamus and Cesaro's appearance, Rollins admits he and Dean are having fun right now, and that no matter what, they are brothers. Dean says brothers sometimes fight, but brother also don't let brothers walk out of the house looking like Sheamus and Cesaro. Suddenly, Gallows & Anderson (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson) show up, and say Sheamus and Cesaro walked out on them last week while Ambrose and Rollins took advantage of their disadvantage. When they call Ambrose and Rollins "nerds," however, Rollins says this is not a good idea and Ambrose says nobody calls him a nerd. He then throws the first punch in a brawl between all three teams where Ambrose and Rollins come out on top.

Asuka is coming soon to Raw...

Sheamus and Cesaro beat Gallows & Anderson (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson) and the team of Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose in a three-way tag team match.

The Miztourage (The Miz, Bo Dallas, Curtis Axel) is backstage. Tonight is the night to silence the critics as well as General Manger Kurt Angle, who will learn that nothing will save Jason Jordan from obscurity. Bo Dallas says he has done the motivational speech thing before, and says that this should be about all of them rather just The Miz, especially given that he is a part of the Rotunda wrestling family. Curtis Axel agrees, being a part of the Hennig wrestling family and having held the Intercontinental title before. Curtis Axel says if he wins, he will not take it easy on the miz. Bo says that if he wins, he cannot wait to steal the show from The Miz. Miz tells them to take this one step at a time, because tonight is the night that they prove that Jason Jordan does not deserve either of their spotlights.

We look back at the Money In The Bank Match from WrestleMania 21, courtesy of Pizza Hut.

We see a video package for John Cena vs. Roman Reigns at SummerSlam.

General Manger Kurt Angle is on the phone when he notices that Goldust is right behind him. When Goldust turns around, he is not wearing any make-up. He asks Angle - as Dustin Rhodes and as a friend and a man - for another match against Bray Wyatt to prove that he is not a pawn in Bray Wyatt's game against Finn Balor. Angle reluctantly gives him the match, and Dustin says Wyatt will never forget the name of Dustin Rhodes.

Curt Hawkins is in the ring. He says that normally, he is out here makng stars, but "Curt Hawkins' Star Factory" has come to a close. In its place is "Curt Hawkins' History Machine," where he will try to put his 114-match losing streak to an end. He says that the person who walks down the ramp will be a footnote in history. Apollo Crews is the one to walk down the aisle.

Apollo Crews beats Curt Hawkins, bringing Curt Hawkins' losing streak to 115 matches.

Michael Cole interviews Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar. Paul Heyman says this is not unprecendented territory for Brock, and that the last time Brock was the underdog, it was against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 30, and everyone knows how that ended. He says Brock will victimize and conquer Braun Strowman at No Mercy. Braun says his actions speak for him and that he does not have to say how confident he is. He has left Brock Lesnar laying every time week after week, and that he is the only one who has ever done and the only one who can put Lesnar down for good. When asked how Lesnar is preparing for Braun, Heyman says that he does not prepare for people like Strowman becuase nobody is like Strowman. He says Lesnar respects Strowman for being the most capable challenge to come after the WWE Universal Championship, having been the only one to stand up out of the German Suplex. However, that does not mean that Braun Strowman can survive Suplex City. Strowman tells Heyman that he will not only survive Suplex City, but he will stomp it into the ground. Heyman says all Strowman has done is make sure Lesnar undestands that he will have to take Strowman to Suplex City all night long, and that he will have to beat him within an inch of his life in order to stay Universal Champion. Heyman asks how Braun thinks Brock will handle this. Braun says it does not matter, as the ball is in his court and he pulls the strings. Heyman says Lesnar is still the story until he is beaten, and as he runs down all of Lesnar's accolades, Lesnar stops Heyman and thanks Braun for backing him into a corner and challenging him, for that is when he is at his best, and says he will see him Sunday before leaving his with three words: "Suplex...City...bitch."

It is announced that Bayley has been added to the Raw Women's Championship match at No Mercy, making the match a Fatal 5-Way.

Roman Reigns shows up. Roman says he has said it before and he will say it again: John Cena might be the best talker ever, but sometimes he says stupid shit. Cena has called him "the next John Cena," but asks if he looks like a jacked up white guy with a giant head and a miltary crew cut. He then says that if he was the next John Cena, he would not have a career here, and if nobody believes him, they can ask Alex Riley about that. Roman says that when he says something, he means it, like how John is "a fake-ass little bitch." He also says that Cena is the biggest hypocrite in the WWE and that Cena will tell you that himself. To prove his point, he plays a clip from a February 2012 episode of Raw where Cena criticizes The Rock for leaving WWE for Hollywood while presenting himself as someone who will never leave WWE. He then asks the crowd if John Cena should be brought out, and the crowd cheers. Roman then announces that John Cena is not here, which means everything he said five years ago is a lie. He says that at No Mercy, the result will be the same as WrestleMania 28, execpt he will be beaten by a different Samoan.

Renee Young interviews The Hardys (Jeff and Matt Hardy). If tonight's Six-Pack Challenge comes down to the two of them, they have no problem fighting each other, as they have fought each other as kids long before they fought anybody else. Jeff says he came close to winning the title before, and this time he will seize the moment. Matt tells him he has to make it to No Mercy. Jeff simply says "May the best Hardy win."

After a quote by Sun Tzu, we see another vignette for Asuka.

Before the next match, Goldust shows up as Dustin Rhodes, and is billed as being from Austin, Texas.

Bray Wyatt beats Dustin Rhodes. After the match, Finn Balor shows up on the TitanTron and tells a story about a boy who was different from everyone else, who spent his time alone with books about mythology in an attempt to be better than what the world has handed him. Eventually that boy became a man, and learned how to control his pain, anger and rage, manifesting it like the gods and monsters of mythology. That man created a demon. Finn then asks that if the demon is a creation of the man, which one is more dangerous? At No Mercy, Bray Wyatt will find out.

Enzo Amore shows up and talks about his match with Neville for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship at SummerSlam. As he does, he is decimated by Braun Strowman, who plows into him from behind, tosses him into the ring like a rag doll, choke slams him after lifting him nine feet into the air and hits him with the running powerslam. As Strowman leaves the ring, he is met by Neville, who is in sheer awe and somehow escapes meeting the same fate as Enzo. Neville heads to the ring and hits Enzo with a Red Arrow, then grabs a microphone and screams "How you doin'?" before laughing maniacally at Enzo.

Charly Caruso interviews Enzo Amore. Despite the pain he is in, he is taking the Cruiserweight title at No Mercy.

Neville beats Gran Metalik. During the match, Neville tears at Gran Metalik's mask, and Gran Metalik's face is exposed for a few brief seconds.

WWE and NBC Universo shine a spotlight on Jennifer Lopez as part of Hispanic Heritage Month.

Elias sings and plays guitar - and threatens to throw a kid and his mom out of the building - before the next match, bashing not only the people of San Jose, California but also the rest of his opponents tonight. He only covers Jason Jordan before The Hardys (Jeff and Matt Hardy) interrupt everything with their entrance.

Jason Jordan beats Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, Bo Dallas, Curtis Axel and Elias in a 6-Pack Challenge to become #1 contender for the WWE Intercontinental Championship and face The Miz for the title at No Mercy on Sunday. Jason Jordan and The Miz stare down after the match, then Miz goes for a cheap shot only to be belly-to-belly suplexed. Bo and Axel attack Jason Jordan, and after a Skull Crushing Finale to Jason Jordan, Miz says to him "After No Mercy, I will still be the champ. Kurt Angle will still be a terrible father. And you will still be a bastard."
