Those Dynamite Kids - Dynamite recap for September 18, 2024

Orange Cassidy beats Chris Jericho after "The Bad Apple" Bryan Keith passes a roll of quarters to Jericho only for Orange to use it against him.

In backstage footage from last week, Claudio Castagnoli and PAC state that they have not heard from Wheeler Yuta, and tells him to come to work as they have a Trios title defense next week. Claudio says he is not mad, just disappointed, as he thought he taught him better. He says Wheeler is old enough to make his own decision, but asks Wheeler to show up for the match. Jon Moxley shows up with "The Problem" Marina Shafir and says Wheeler has the strength to do the right thing and that he has a choice to make, and tells him that he is not trapped, then asks what kind of man Wheeler Yuta has truly become.

Backstage, Alex Marvez interviews Wheeler Yuta. Wheeler admits he is conflicted due to recent events, but he has worked his entire career for an opportunity like this, then confuses Grand Slam with WrestleDream before a backstage hand hands him his Trios Championship belt. Wheeler says that one does not change because others around them are changing and that he is a fighting champion, and if The Blackpool Combat Club are defending next week, then he will do what he has to do.

Undisputed Kingdom (Roderick Strong, Matt Taven, Mike Bennett) guests on commentary for the next match.

Hook beats JD Ink with Redrum. After the match, Hook and Roderick Strong have a staredown on the stage with security guards standing between them.

Backstage, Alex Marvez interviews Private Party (Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy). Isiah Kassidy says that if The Blackpool Combat Club (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, PAC)wanted a fight, all they had to do was ask, then dares them to put the Trios titles on the line next week. Kassidy tells Jon Moxley that if he wants a war, then he should make Private Party their first battle.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews The Patriarchy (Christian Cage, "The Prodigy" Nick Wayne, Killswitch, Mama Wayne). Christian Cage says he could talk about himself all day long, but mentions "The Prodigy" Nick Wayne's upcoming match with Rocky Romero and says that this is a launching pad for Wayne, as the two of them will be holding titles at the same time. Christian brags about Jon Moxley not having the contract that he has, then Nick Wayne confronts Kip Sabian, as does Christian, who threatens to put Sabian in the dirt if he sees him again.

Queen Aminata and Yuka Sakazaki beat Serena Deeb and "The Glamour" Mariah May by disqualification after Mariah May hits Yuka Sakazaki with the AEW Women's World Championship. After the match, Mariah May briefly continues to attack Yuka Sakazaki with the championship belt.

We see a video package of the history between Nigel McGuinness and "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson.

Jon Moxley and "The Problem" Marina Shafir head to the ring. On their way there, they are attacked by Private Party (Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy). Claudio Castagnoli also shows up and hits Marq Quen with two choke slam backbreakers in the middle of the ring while Moxley and Shafir beat up Isiah Kassidy. All of a sudden, Komander is in the ring, and he drop kicks Claudio Castagnoli off the ring apron when Claudio notices, but gets knocked out of the air during a tope suicida with a European uppercut. Shafir takes down Alex Abrahantes and takes the microphone out of his hand as Jon Moxley pulls out a tool box and grabs a hammer. Moxley says he could end Private Party's careers for their actions, but he will not do that. He says that Private Party have been in AEW for five years and have been in the exact same spot, then tells him that he will give them what they have been missing before hitting Kassidy in the hand with a hammer as he is held down by Claudio and Shafir. As Moxley walks down the ramp, he is attacked from behind with a skateboard by Darby Allin. Moxley gets Darby in the ring, and both men stare each other down while Shafir holds Claudio back. Darby wings at Moxley with the skateboard, but Moxley bails out of the ring. Darby says he is not the same man Moxley faced five years ago and that he will run through him at Grand Slam on his way to becoming the next AEW World Champion.

We see a video package for "Scapegoat" Jack Perry.

Ricochet beats The Beast Mortos.

We see a video package chronicling the the feud between "Hangman" Adam Page and Swerve Strickland.

Tony Schiavone interviews "Hangman" Adam Page in the ring. Hangman says he has watched and listened for a long while as he knew a day like this would come when Swerve Strickland would be done with and gone. He also says that it would not just be Swerve who would pay, but those who stood behind him, protected him and supported him. Hangman says he is surrounded by these kinds of people who would cheer Swerve for winning a championship, defending it, and being locked in a cage with his fate, and when he hears those voices, he is reminded of his suspension when he heard those voices. He then says he has heard another voice cheering Swerve on loudly and clearly from the commentary desk: Tony Schiavone, who he almost corners before Jeff Jarrett shows up. Hangman attacks Jarrett as soon as Jarrett rolls into the ring, and security and referees have to run in to restore order. Jay Lethal also has to show up to hold Jarrett back, as does Satnam Singh, Sonjay Dutt and Karen Jarrett. Satnam Singh, Sonjay Dutt and Karen Jarrett also show up. Jarrett says he will not let Hangman lay a hand on Tony Schiavone, and that there is a locker room full of people who want to beat him up and that he is at the front of the line. Jarrett also says that he is going to kick Hangman's ass even if it is the last thing he ever does in his career.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Ricochet when Will Ospreay shows up to have a word with him. Ospreay welcomes Ricochet to AEW as he says things have been heated between them, but Ricochet says he has thought about Ospreay's words and that everyone is more worried about him than Ospreay. Ricochet then tells Ospreay that at 5-Year Anniversary, he will face him for the International Championship. He says they have had matches that have changed the landscape of professional wrestling, and while Ospreay is on another level, he is on another world, and Ospreay will find out very soon.

Don Callis guests on commentary for the next match.

Will Ospreay and The Don Callis Family (Kyle Fletcher and "The Alpha" Konosuke Takeshita) beat The Elite (Matthew Jackson, Nicholas Jackson, "The Rainmaker" Kazuchika Okada) in a trios match.
